Gah, the feeling of being extremely cold and heavily windblown wasn't exactly too enjoyable. With a few strokes of your hand the sleep is wiped from your eyes, they're heavily crusted over. "Hey, how you liking the air travel?" It was a man's voice, you couldn't quite see him yet due to grogginess, but he had a playful tone to his voice. "Remember me, Tīru, from Hawaii?" It flooded back to you instantly, a complimentary helitour was being offered to raise awareness for a conversation project. You figured it would be a good way to spend a first day on vacation. Tīru had also boarded the heli. "Where are we?" "It speaks!," Tīru always with the jokes. "About three hours ago the co-pilot explained to us that there was a hostage situation at the airport and all flights were either grounded, suspended, or mid-flight." "We're mid-flight then?" "Yea, how'd you guess?" Despite the joking mood, something was suspicious... Yeah, that helicopter tech was talking about fuel... It's extremely expensive and they only carry enough for the trip and extra for emergencies.
"About three hours ago you said?" Tīru nodded. This all seemed a little 'hinky.' "So did-" "What the hell?" Tīru had been interrupted by the pilot who was dashing out of his seat and towards the cockpit. He slapped a hand on the pilot's shoulder who was now back with them and had a parachute on, he could see that the other pilot had been stabbed from his position. You sprung up to join Tīru just as the pilot retrieves a knife and threatens Tīru with Tīru backed off and the man swiftly jumped out of the heli. "What is going on? The co-pilot is dead, the pilot just jumped ship. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING." You can tell Tīru is upset so you simply point to the parachutes caught up in some webbing on the cockpit entrance. You both begin to put them on, you know that you can both escape this if you remain calm. Just remain calm.
As your parachute spirals toward the ground you see a new story unfold. An island, surrounded by an endless sea on all sides. Why are you here? How did the helicopter get so off course and why did the pilot kill the other pilot? Nothing is adding up, somewhere someone mathed wrong. The island is densely vegetated but you can see a clearing... "WELCOME" is spelt out in white rocks over the clearing... The parachute angles upwards as you grow closer to the ground. You can see about 10 other parachutes closing in, besides Tīru. A plane, a large commercial one, is diving into the ocean near by... What is this place...? Tīru was right about asking what the hell was going on.
The clearing is devoid exempting a shack and the welcome sign. Tīru is already at the shack and is gesturing you over. When you meet him he opens the door and stairs descending down are now observable. At the bottom is what appears to be an auditorium with a speaker at the back. "The late arrivals?" A spotlight meets you and reveals that an audience is present, all watching the speaker. Some sporting terrified looks, others crying. The speaker, a blonde female, is waiting for you to answer. "Y-yes." "Are there other late arrivals?" You nod. "We'll just have to start without them." She pressed a button on what looked to be a remote. Shortly after flames could be heard from above them and lots of horrid, bone-chilling, screaming. "Shame, that."
"Welcome to Project: Creative Expansion. A facility dedicated to expanding human creativity and problem solving! You have all been selected to participate in our trial. The selections are all random, and from a varying age, race, occupation, and skill group. You will be tasked with surviving on this island and creatively solving challenges presented. Those whom do this will be rewarded generously. You only get three chances to do so." Tīru barked at the lady. "CHANCES? WHAT DO YOU MEAN CHANCES??? YOU CAN'T KEEP US HERE!" People shouted in agreement and rose from their seats to join the charge upstage led by Tīru himself. In response the madam simply pulled out a gun and shot him. "Please remain calm, this is a perfect example of our chance system. Return to your seat or face a similar fate." Tīru's body vanished and a bright blue light emanated from near the stage. Tīru reappeared but was grabbing his hand in horror. He was missing his middle, ring, and pinky, fingers. "That was chance one, and the punishments progressively get worse."
A voice boomed from the stage. "Your time is up, Mrs. Heather." The lady speaker, Mrs. Heather apparently, began to cry. "I-I-I did everything you said." "Not fast enough." The lady crumpled to the ground, dead. "YOU'RE ALL DISMISSED."
In this RP you will play as a character who's been entangled in a clandestine human experimentation project and must now escape, survive, or die. You can submit a request to the Prime Operator, the man who spoke to Mrs. Heather, for an item and he will inform you of the price. The system also operates on a chance system. If you fail, betray the project, kill without cause, die, you will be reborn at great personal expense. As demonstrated with my character, Tīru. The ultimate goal is your decision. If you want to become a Kingpin and rule over the other other survivors like their peons, go for it. If you want to lead a daring overthrow and escape the island, go right ahead. Want to take over the project and run it yourself? Have fun.
This will be my first time starting or participating in/a RP on this site so I am bound to make plenty mistakes. That said if you have an interest in helping shoot me a PM as I am always looking for Co-GMs. If this gains enough interest, like around six people, I'll begin work on the OOC and then we can move there.
