Bio/Personality: Amaya grew up with two extremely busy parents as an only child. Her mother and father owned a consulting company together, so she had a lot of money growing up. She originally started taekwondo because she was alone a lot, and her parents worried about her well being. Eventually she grew to love it and started taking many other forms of martial arts. When Amaya went into college, she wanted to go away from her home and be more adventurous, but she still wanted to live in a larger city, which is why she choose Shine City Academy. She lives in the dorms on campus to get the full college experience (plus she didn't know anyone going into the academy Freshman year). Amaya didn't want to rely on her parent's money, so she got a part time job, which she absolutely loves. Amaya decided to work there because she enjoys traditional Japanese culture and also she thought the uniforms were very pretty on her (not that she'd admit that to anyone). The pay is enough to get her by, with a bit to spare on a good day.
Amaya is a quiet person, especially with strangers. She sometimes gets social anxiety because she's not used to interacting with others. Amaya is very good at handling small children, although she doesn't really like to spend time with them. Once one gets to know Amaya, she can be very kind and gentle. She cares a lot for what little friends she has. She can be silly at times and enjoys laughing with others. However, she does have a limit. If you ever get on her nerves or are rude to her, she is terrifying. Since she is well trained in martial arts, she isn't afraid to hurt others. Especially if you hurt her friends. Amaya finds the way others think interesting. She's also a great listener, but has trouble comforting. Not that she doesn't try her best in doing so. Dark circles aren't unfamiliar to his otherwise pale features, and his eyes are a clear, light, chocolate-brown colour which contrasts heavily with his (dyed) silver hair. In his youth, he used to have a select number of streaks in the mess of his locks that he dyed different colours once every two months. Though you can see a cigarette sticking out of his mouth when he isn't at school, it's replaced for a lollipop when he's on the job. Though oddly enough, it's difficult to tell from far away what it might really be...

Bio/Personality: Shou grew up in classy Shine City itself as the younger of two sons, so it's hard to find a place or trick or turn within it that the young gentleman doesn't know. Though, admittedly, he only came to learn of more of the city in his later years, having been homeschooled as a child and so finishing his education a couple of years early (due to missing out so many much-coveted summers). He landed his professor job through a mixture of sheer luck, his personal smarts and three rather interesting published works on the behavioural study of animals in captivity. This has led to him being a bit of an eccentric man, though he enjoys his fair share of parties as well, accompanied by a new experimental mixed-drink each time if not for a classic favourite of his: A glass of burgundy wine, for his more mature palette.
He spends his days teaching at the Shine City academy, hoping to inspire his students (though he has to admit again, most of them don't seem quite as much as interested in his lectures) to greatness someday. His personal interests are in the areas of Genetics and Zoology. His young age is often a cause for playful kidding around by the older members of staff, though also gets him a lot of belittling remarks and unsatisfied glances from time to time. He claims he's just as much a student as anyone else, learning from his seniors whenever he can on their respective areas of expertise, and from his juniors on areas such as 'socialisation in the younger-crowds'. He owns two dogs, a young Jack Russell Terrier called Jinxie and a larger Border Collie/German Shepherd mix called Romeo. Seeing as he lives by himself in a rather comfortable little house just far enough from the bustling city center to have an open yard, the two dogs get on well and don't get bored or lonely too often (special thanks to the dogs of the lovely old woman who lives next door!)
Shou himself is slightly introverted, preferring to be approached rather than approaching someone, though he has no problem doing the latter. He hardly ever is mentioned to say "he's bored", being a strong believer in finding entertainment in whatever one does. He is compassionate towards animals and, oddly enough, plants as well, having a well-tended garden set up in his backyard. He also possesses intensive knowledge on herbal remedies his mother taught both boys, Shou and Yuusha, when they were young. Being described as 'eccentric' due to his often chuckling at the most inappropriate moments, or his somewhat morbid love for setting things alight, or even his irritability on Thursday evenings when the weekend is so close, yet so far, he garners the positive attentions and affections of many others, particularly the schoolgirls at the academy impressed with just how young he is. Or maybe they're just taken by his looks and undeniable quiet, mature grace.
As for his personal skills, outside of teaching and aromatherapy, Shou can also play the violin himself, whereas his brother picked up the saxophone when they were children. Though, to make up for it, he thoroughly neglected cooking in his youth and survives on the most basic meals, usually burnt or improper in some way, shape or form, but laden with spices each and every time.
In addition, it's been about four years since his long-term girlfriend and later much-beloved fiancée Alessandra (lovingly 'Alex') has passed now, the victim of a horrendous accident. Shou has mostly come to terms with it, though it isn't something one can recover from easily and he still thinks of her time and again, though still gets easily flustered around pretty women due to not being exposed to quite as much contact since her passing. It undeniably leaves him a little lonelier and 'emptier' than he'd like, and he often is solemn when he admits to that.

German Shepherd x Border Collie Adopted from the local shelter as a tiny pup, Romeo is now nine years old and an aging boy, but holds himself with a pride and loyalty to his master like no other. He makes an excellent companion on long walks, and in addition, an even more wonderful pillow to cuddle with when lonely.

Jack Russell Jinxie is hyperactive and playful despite her six years of age, possesses a love for life itself any everything it brings. She's forever curious and could be called the polar opposite of Romeo, if not for the friendliness they both possess. Alex was always curious about the ways the world worked, and from a young age, it was apparent to her parents that she would use that curiosity to achieve great things. And she did. Moving to Shine City from Italy soon after finishing her highschool education to study nuclear physics from the very best, she ended up as a Physics lecturer for Shine City Academy, and though the position did not require her own research, she chose to pursue it anyway, balancing out her 'career' with her personal interests quite well. She worked hard towards the position of professor, and since she was comfortable where she was, she had her life planned around remaining in Shine City and settling down with a family there.
During her time at the academy, she met a certain biology professor, Shou Matsuoka, who at the time was still learning all there was to learn, and the two, despite their generally contrasting personalities, hit it off right away. They dated for the better part of three years before he popped the question, and Alex could not have asked for anything more. She moved in with him officially when he proposed to her, and they even bought a small, comfortable little house on the outskirts of the city, courtesy of their combined salaries.
Unfortunately, things did not go quite as planned. During their engagement, and her working as part of a long-term project to get to the very bottom of an elusive concept in the field of nuclear physics, something very particular happened to one very unsuspecting physicist. She did not know how, or why, or even who, but was caught in the middle of a brutal murder and mauling. Of course, the authorities tried to track the man down but to this date, little headway has been made. Her fiancé was told, simply, that she was caught in an accident, and spiralling into a depression that left him reeling, he still doubts the truth to this day.

She grew up as the fifth child of seven sisters and two very traditional parents, teaching all the girls dance as they grew up. The sisters all seem well off, but Aoi is the second most settled out of them all, the first being her eldest sister who is married, and besides her own endeavour in the shoe design department, her husband heads a prestigious law firm. However, is also overly apologetic, so tends to shift between these two clashing personas – i.e. “I command you to give me a huggle~!” immediately being followed by “S-sorry, I didn’t mean to bother you~! I’ll stay out of your way from now on~!!!” and running off to hide when the person she is addressing actually turns to look at her, as she struggles with eye-contact (and social interactions in general). Akane can be rather silent and shy at first, and has trouble keeping conversation going with new people, but once around a group of close friends, she can really open up and become a rather wild person. Due to her constant reading, Akane has become quite the romantic, but her sheepishness has always prevented her from getting close to guys. Akane has always loved to joke, but she is often the type to keep it to herself, smiling while others don't understand why.
Akane grew up in a small household outside of Shine city, cared for by her brother in a rather small flat. They had originally come from a rather rich family, but parental disputes led the two of them to leave home when they could take care of themselves. Akane tends not to talk about her past because of this, but she does have a rather large sum of money that she holds in a reserve account, should she or her brother ever need it. Schoolwork has always taken precedence over leisure. Perhaps that is the cause of her introversion. As her brother was working quite often to support them, Akane was without much family time. Akane spent her down time reading or simply taking walks in the park, leading to a rather dull and boring childhood. Akane's friends were limited, which allowed her to move to Shine City with little to no issues or cares in the world. Now, with her brother off working, Akane has her home to herself and little to do. She took her job at the restaurant mainly to allow her and her brother some more money for leisure activities, and the actual human interaction was more of a byproduct.
Akane soon moved out, leaving her brother for Shine City Academy, though little has changed. Akane still tends to keep to herself and get rather good grades for her classes and she longs to be a social butterfly like all of her classmates.

Kyle originally came to Japan from America to study in university, after only attending university for a few semesters, it dawned on him that he hated schooling, but came to love the country he'd spent his time in. Kyle was determined to remain in Japan, even filing for a work visa and looking for any business willing to hire him in Shine City, most places unfortunately turned him down, that is until he came upon a little glasses boutique. Inside he met with the owner, a kindly old gentleman, Mr. Hiroshi, who would take Kyle under his wing and teach him all he needed to work in the glasses industry. She is capable and skilled and takes care of herself, but her modesty is so deeply ingrained that she tends to sell herself short, downplay her contributions, and take herself for granted. However, she is not depressed, she simply thinks this way to motivate herself to always do more. She feels others are far more deserving of attention and may become awkward and uncomfortable if people become attracted to her. Shizuka lived with her parents and sister in another city, but when she got into Shine City Academy's graduate program, she moved here and is now living in the dorms. Profession: James is a student at SCA majoring in Computer Science. Instead of pursuing a specific minor he carefully picks his electives and occasionally audits an extra class in order to maximize his game-related courses and keep his parents happy.
Bio/Personality: James was raised in an extremely religious town in the US by his mother (a teacher) and his father (a banker). Most of his early years were spent reading his mother's textbooks for fun and playing the (educational) computer games his parents bought for him. By the time he entered middle school he was nearly ready for high school but he didn't skip any grades. That academic head-start combined with a generally different set of interests from others his age came with the price of being alienated and bullied by the other kids. Because of this James is adept at avoiding notice (which tends to happen whether or not he wants it to), noticing people who are up to no good before they start making trouble, and maintaining composure during stressful situations. James has been planning to study abroad since before he started high school because he wanted to get away from that place. He set his sights on Shine City Academy and didn't even apply to anywhere else. He managed to score some sizable test-based scholarships and he receives support from his family on the condition that he replaces the time he would have spent working with studying and learning instead. James is now late into his second year at SCA where he lives in the dorms. His gaming pseudonym (Stratus) is well-known at the arcade because he has a leaderboard entry on most of the arcade games. This semester is light for him due to course scheduling conflicts and lapses in new content for his favorite games, which makes now the perfect opportunity to search for people to spend time with in the city instead of relying on voice chat for socialization.
James is all about learning and having fun. He is usually cautious and deliberate but he can be convinced (and frequently convinces himself) to try something crazy if he thinks it will be a fun or beneficial experience. He is a bit paranoid which has led him to be bizarrely prepared. His hoodies are weighted with internal pockets that hold compact tools and useful items (paperclips, rubber bands, string, etc.). He has a hopelessly optimistic side that fights his better judgement and he is highly empathetic, the combination of which has caused him to be unusually kind.

Bio/Personality: Zacary Yoxall was born the only child to a middle-class family. He wasn't too rich, but he wasn't poor, either. As a kid, it was always easy for him to make friends, even if he moved to a completely new school district. He was always the person in the middle of his groups of friends, a grin on his face as he joked around. Eventually, when he was about ten, he decided to take on magic and excelled at it.
As he went through school, he had his shares of relationships that came to an end more often than not. Most of the time, when he broke up with a girl, it was on good terms, but that isn't to say that there were also times when the break-up wasn't so amicable. After he graduated high school he decided to strike out on his own. His parents, always supporting, wished him the best, even though they had hoped he would have gone to college.
Zac is a friendly, outgoing kind of guy. He's the type of guy who would gladly be the first to do something insane. While he seems to have it all together, however, it's incredibly easy for him to get lost somehow, whether it be trying to walk to the store or just trying to find a bathroom in the bar. It's so bad, he could even be given a map, but it would prove useless, as he would either forget to read it or lose it altogether.
Other: He carries what he calls an 'Emergency Magic Kit' everywhere he goes, which comes with a deck of cards, a wand with a pre-stocked bouquet, and he always has a pair of Fireshooters on the palms of his hands. He lives away from his parents, who are extremely wealthy and have always looked down on him. He has his own apartment in Shine City. Still, he regularly attends classes and is rather intelligent. He does rather well academically, unless he's forced to take a class that he's not interested in. When uninterested in a subject, he has a habit of getting distracted or daydreaming, causing him to lose focus. Livius has a cool, but mischievous demeanor with a deep love of teasing others. His temper isn't volatile and he knows how to keep a cool head, much to the frustration of others who he may be talking with. Although at times careless with the feelings of others, Livius tends to apologize if he's hurt the feelings of someone he cares about. If he's hurt the feelings of someone he dislikes, then it was most likely intentional. Livius isn't someone who thinks of others as enemies too easily.
Livius has cunning and skill, but at times he may be oblivious to the feelings of others. He still cares very much for his friends, and is considerate to the feelings of shier and more silent people as well. He tends to come off as clingy to friends, but will often bake them treats in order to show his appreciation. Livius has a great amount of patience and is surprisingly good at taking care of others. He tends to fret over the well-being of friends very often, even though he tries desperately not to show it. He's good at being the motherly type and dislikes it when others pick on or insult his friends. He's disinterested in protecting his own reputation, but it's easier to provoke him when his friends are being insulted. He's incredibly protective of what is his and he may behave that way towards his friends. He may become jealous when he sees them talking to other people that he doesn't know, but he doesn't act on those feelings. Livius also doesn't get flustered easily, no matter how much he's complimented.
He dislikes talking about his past and about his parents. As a child he was often bullied and called a "monster" due to his somewhat odd looks. He got into trouble often as a result of that, and as a result of his parents frequently neglecting to pay attention to him. Eventually, he evened out, but they sent him off to Shine City anyways. Livius dislikes his parents and wishes to remain as far away from them as possible, but he routinely acts respectful for the purpose of not getting disowned. He has little expectations for his parents, and knows them to have terrible, sour personalities. He's much freer in Shine City, where he has some friends and gets by on his own for the most part. Livius also has a deep love of animals. He has four dogs, which his parents allow because it makes them look good, allowing their son to have so many pets. He also feeds cats that live outside. They seem to like him very much.

Nori quickly learned that none of the radio stations would hire her without experience and she began to lose hope, until she saw a flyer that said Club LUSH was looking for part-time DJs. The young blonde was hired on the spot and while she was excited to be doing what she loved, it wasn't quite enough to pay the bills. So she had to take on another job at the local flower shop to make ends meet. She lives in a small two bedroom apartment above the shop and is currently looking for a roommate.
Nori has an adventurous spirit, thrives on action, and loves anything that gets her adrenaline up. This of course makes her a bit of a risk taker, which often gets her into sticky situations. It also means that she can get bored easily if she feels like she isn't doing something productive. When it comes to the people she cares about, Nori is loyal to a fault. If she sees someone bullying one of her friends she will not hesitate to call them out on it. She is a bright, confident, funny girl who is full of sarcasm and doesn't let anyone push her around.

Sabine came in from another city far-off from here, a place where the wealthiest came to purchase premium services in a certain hotel chain. Her hometown, once a simple tourist-stop village, became a prime-time vacation spot, and with the influx of tourists also came the eviction of her house and gym to provide more room for the hotel. By then, Sabine was already a "working lady" right out of her graduation from her high school, and had made enough money to fly over to Shine City For a permanent residence, but the money pool wasn't nearly big enough to pay for the money to continue the education most others would have by her age. Over here, she found no opportunities to continue her old way of life, and so she quietly slipped into the town to do the odd job or three, until she could be kept as a main-stay aid for cooking. Who knew she had it in her to live her old childhood fantasies?
As of recently, with the last few months of adjustment, everything has reverted back to the lifestyle she had once fled from. Given, she's free from the influence of pimps and drugs now, but between the webcams and the by-the-meal pay she gets delivering home-cooked courses to students at the Academy, romance has had even less time than before. That, and the incident still lingers in her mind...

He isn’t well liked by his employees due to his constant crude comments and nagging them to wear more revealing clothing. Personality: When not on stage, Cash comes across as laid back, but aloof towards most people. He doesn't talk much and when he does, it’s usually dripping with sarcasm. Cash’s DJ personality is still pretty laid back, but he makes up for it with his great intuition when it comes to mixing music. He is always shirtless when working.

Of course, if that doesn't cut it, she can play just about any instrument, and has a large stockpile of puns available if all else fails.
Profession: Ryoki is an aspiring musician who works from home. She has a wide variety of instruments that she owns and plays, but is best with violins, guitars, keyboards and saxophones. Not to mention singing; she loves to sing! She uploads her music on to sites such as YouTube and makes her own albums. She's not world famous by any means, but still makes enough to make a living. Mostly. Ryoki also works part-time as a voice actor, getting job offers every now and then to voice characters for anime, games and so-on.
Bio/Personality: Ryoki has always lived in Shine City, and is rather upbeat and daring. She's willing to give just about anything a try and, for better or for worse, doesn't have any real sense of shame. She'll flirt with boys (and sometimes girls too) and loves to tease. You could say it's in her nature to try make others feel good about life like she does. Ryoki comes from a rich family who wanted to give their daughter the opportunities she wanted, and, as such, they allowed her to pursue her dream of making music. Ryoki has followed that dream ever since she was young and has found herself climbing the ladder of fame and success one rope at a time. She still has a long way to go, but remains persistent, working hard as she aspires towards becoming a top musician. She'll sometimes perform at Mochavine Cafe and Bar, as it was the place where she first started out as a musician. She's never had much interest in romantic affairs, despite the flirting. She's also secretly a bit of an otaku.

When she gets too stressed out however, she can end up wavering and even crying out of frustration. But she is loyal to fault and will always try to see the best in others. Bullies tick her off though. No one should ever make fun of someone else and she will try her best to stand up to them, even if she isn't very strong. Kaori is also rather clumsy and she can be a bit naive sometimes. While some people can find her a bit annoying, she tries her best to ignore things like that. Not everyone will like you, right?

For a man who's as old as he is, most would assume him to retire or live somewhere a bit quieter, but he always says, "I thrive where the youth live, there's a fire in them that I just can't get enough of." He's known to out drink anyone who dares to challenge him, earning him the title of "The Dwarf of Japan".
Hiroshi met Dr. Dajianus some years ago and traveled across Europe with him for several months. Inspired by their travels they started a business together in Shine City, to give those an option of eyewear that was outside their normal culture.

Dr. Dajianus was born in the UK and there earned his license and medical degree. It wouldn't be for some time in his service to the industry (and marriage) that he'd be introduced to Mr. Hiroshi. From there, inspired by their travels across Europe they went into a business partnership together and opened "An Eye For Fashion" in Shine City.

Ayane lawson is a very shy and timid person, who doesn't know what she wants to do in life she hated career days and future plan questionnaires when she was in school as they often lead to meetings with a school careers or guidance staff members & long lectures. She's the daughter of a british father and a japanese mother with six other siblings all of which she got along well with. Despite being somewhat of a social outcast in school her grades had always been excellent so much so that at her last year in secondary school she was offered full-scholarship to practically any collage or university of her choice, however during this time her father had suddenly passed away, Ayane with her close family emotionally devastated put her life on hold & took charge, caring for everyone in her family while making all the funeral arrangements and dealing with loads of paperwork for family benefits & tax reductions now that her mother was a widower.
It's been nearly nine years since & her family's been doing well since, but Ayane's life had still been on hold and would of remained so if her mother hadn't encouraged her to go out into the world and find herself. Along with some financial support from her mom and working siblings Ayane decided to leave her town & headed to shine city which she hoped would be filled with adventure opportunity.
After finding a small and cheep apartment which would of been more accurately described as a closet, Ayane found herself unsure again in what she wanted to do, every job interview she went to her quiet, shy & timid personality didn't help her standout from all the overqualified and extremely confident applicants. Ayane also considered returning to education but the fear of entering an unknown collage or getting placed in a large class as a new student at her age worried her, that or loan expenses for taking the courses that she wasn't even sure she wanted to specialize in.
Ayane has since settled into a leisurely, quiet & lonely existence, of doing whatever she wants (within budget), sleeping in, finding ways of wasting time to pass the days, and has developed a disorganized and unscheduled lifestyle which she tries to get by on, economizing greatly to save money on necessities where she can, but often wastes or loses any savings she manages to collect.
Often daydreams while reading fashion magazines or surfing the web, of affording fancy clothing like dresses & skirts or designer gear, actually owning little luxuries like makeup & perfumes... but Ayane tends to snap out of it quickly, as she remembers that she is trying to scrape by on what little money is left over after bills & expenses that her family sends her, while desperately hoping each day whoever's wireless internet she's piggybacking on doesn't get an access password put on it.
She desperately wants to make friends but is far to shy to approach people she doesn't know and often struggles trying to make/initiate conversation. Often fearing she's going to be laughed at, picked on, humiliated, or do something wrong which is why Ayane tends to try and avoid people even if they're trying to befriend her which often leads to the misunderstanding that she doesn't want to know them, which is not the case at all. Due to her loneliness & events in her life she occasionally suffers from bouts of mild depression and hides away in her apartment rarely leaving her bed.
Often re-commits herself to becoming a better person, making friends, and improving her life after an emotional tumble, but ultimately falls back into the loop of unemployed life, doing whatever, trying to waste time all over again. But who knows maybe this time around things well be different and her life will get better?, & if so will it bring about a whole new set of issues & problems she's not used to dealing with?.

Bio: Devin was originally from Egypt, but his family's living conditions weren't good. Devin went to Shine City Academy on a full ride scholarship. Now he sends money home to his parents and 5 younger siblings.
