Time passes slower in the town of Kirisama. Isolated from civilization by the mountains and the sea, it is a place that changes little as the seasons roll by. The buildings are old, repaired and repainted, but never reconstructed. The scenery stays the same, no towers ever rising to scrape the skies. The rain falls as always, gentle droplets cleansing the forests. Traditions are observed, superstitions still holding sway over the minds over the inhabitants.
Those who desire more eventually depart, their homes becoming empty husks, left untouched. They may leave, but, over the years, perhaps even over generations, families eventually return. They come back to their roots, to their homes, to an idyllic, countryside life in which nothing changes. Shrines to nameless gods can be found everywhere in the town, and, despite many attracting little to no visitors, they are well-cared for.
During the day, it is a beautiful place, a clean, scenic town for those satisfied with a tranquil, peaceful life.
During the night, it becomes an inviolable territory, where humans are the trespassers.
As the clock nears the witching hour, all return to their homes. They seal their windows, pray to their ancestors, and fill their homes with light, waiting for the storm to end. There is no fear of the howling mountain and the wailing sea. It is but a reminder that the world is not merely one of logic and rationality.
No.
It had once been just a reminder.
Unexplainable accidents. Mysterious attacks. Sudden conflagrations.
The scale of these incidents have been small, and none of them have been life-threatening, but the rumors still spread, of the Night Hags, the Hundred Demon Parade, the Fallen Gods. They had been stories to scare children into obedience, stories shared whilst camping in the mountains, but now…
Was there some truth in them?
Upon the wind-swept mountains, the shrine maiden stays silent.
Within the unchanging town, the elders do not speak.
And, in the dead of the night, a call is received.
Ho thar. In case you weren't able to infer from that bit of blarging, this will be a RP with supernatural elements, set in Japan, because that's where all anime/manga-based RPs are set. Your characters will be students of a school that numbers in the triple digits. You will not know of most of what the hell's going on unless you do the thinking and discovering.
I will not set a limit on the amount of people who can join, but after there are more than five players, player death will be a thing. After there are more than ten players, the RP will go into 'hard mode'. Despite this, however, taking risks and doing badass shit will be rewarded, so don't play safe, because I like seeing people live dangerously.
Occasionally, there will be things that happen that involve dice rolls. So if you're against RNG, you should probably find something else.
I realize that this setting isn't developed too well in the Int Chek, so feel free to fire off questions. I live in NA though, so keep that in mind when it comes to response timings~
Also, if you want to prepare for the CS, start reading up on the Introduction Texts for the characters here. Been a fan of that style recently~
