The Granted
Underneath the world as we know it is a society of ruthless and terrible people vying for power. I’m sure all you conspiracy theorists already knew that. But it isn’t the Illuminati. It’s the Granted. See years ago 6 spirits of the stuff that makes up this universe we live in gave up their sentience and dispersed their magic amongst the first species they thought would protect the balance.
Unfortunately they gave it to humans.
The Granted:
Granted are either born into their abilities, or every so often a new Granted will be chosen and some random person will have to be retrieved from the Surface. (Pure bloodline Granted are super Haughty as you might imagine) The Granted are a part of our political society across the globe. Some are aware of this, most Shallows are not.

Teleportation - Water and Air Granted are better at this
Super Strength - Fire and Earth Granted are better at this

Specialty Abilities
Earth - Speaking with Animals, Plant control. Immune to natural poisons and venoms.
Air - Weather manipulation (limited/rare), Air mimicry (transforming into fog), Wind Generation. resistance to cold.
Fire - Pyrokinesis, Thermokinesis (control of heat), fireproof/ resistance to heat.
Water - Breathe underwater, water mimicry (turn into water), Hydrokinesis
Death - Shadow Camouflage (disappear in shadows), can communicate with / see spirits, plague bringer (extremely rare)
Life - Healing, Calm emotions, Read minds (rare)
Mixing Bloodlines is ok, but frowned upon.
Setting: May 2015 San Francisco, California.
The Cottage is a classic edwardian home on top of an old Missile Silo on Angel Island. To the Shallows (Non-granted unaware of the Truth), it’s where the Angel Island State Park Rangers and their interns live. In reality it’s where young Granted (Ages 15 - 21) are trained to become who they are supposed to be in their society. After they finish their initial training they are assigned an apprentice who shares their specialty (if they have two bloodlines it will be whatever they are stronger with). Once their apprenticeship is up, Their mentor will recommend a place in society to the Regional Council, who decides what position they will be assigned.
*The reason Death Granted are so rare is because a bunch were executed for selling their services to terrorist organizations (most notably around 9/11/2001).
We will be playing Granted in The Cottage which is late training and early apprenticeship phase. You can play either a Mentor, or a Trainee, or even a Shallow if you so desire.
