History of the Nation (Self Explanatory):
It all began with the fall of Athens. Caliphatian bombs blotted out the sky, and after all the destruction, they nuked it for good measure, a city of 2 million decimated to a population of ten thousand. Those who survived got onto multiple arc tiered ships (Each ship can hold 2000 as a comfortable amount, and a total of up to 5000), and they sailed too Cyprus to try and pick up more people for the plan of Julius Constantinus Caesar, or as he is known to the population of the Kingdom, the Savior of the Greek People. After two years in Cyprus, officially making it 2082, they sailed to Crete, where they stopped for ten years. In Crete they heard that majority of the worlds major cities had been destroyed, including Istanbul and Addis Ababa. The thought of retaking Constantinople intrigued Julius, but he knew what he had to do for the grace of God.
With a total of 50k people he sailed to the Holy Land, eventually landing on the Gaza Strip on November 25st, 2092. The population of the Holy land was decimated after the multiple occupations by Holy League members (I am assuming that because Ethiopia was a Christian Theocracy and Istanbul was a Caliphate it was a war between holy leagues) and Gaza was depopulated to about 100 thousand, with majority of the communities devolving into Tribal like conditions ten years after majority of the worlds strongest nations where destroyed. Julius soon began going from village to village, demanding tribute and religious conversion to Orthodoxy, those who converted where spared and where forced to join Julius's band, the ones who refused where slaughtered by Julius's army. By December he had sent scout troops outside Jerusalem.
Jerusalem was preserved throughout the war because no one wanted to destroy it. This is what both sides wanted, both sides needed. The Ethiopian Christians wanted the city retaken for Christendom, and now, 12 years after the War of Gods began, Julius would conquer it again, the holy land would once again belong to the Christian people.
100,000 troops marched on Jerusalem on December 24th, 2092, beginning what would be known as the Battle of Jerusalem. Julius men charged at the 500,000 people in the city (After Depopulation and Genocide from the Caliphate) beginning the true rise of Julius's empire. Within a day the man had retaken the city, slaughtering all who opposed his rule. By the end of the battle late on December 25th, the city was down to 10,000 of the original population, all of whom converted out of fear. Within 7 years he had eventually conquered everything from the Sinai to Antioch, but this was when the radiation began to spread at a rate that no one predicted. All of the 500,000 people who lived in the Kingdom where pushed underground in all of the cities they lived in. They where still connected through phone-like devices, but they had no real way of getting to each other, which is why Julius told the people to all begin digging towards Jerusalem, no matter how long it took. He would keep this land, no matter how much radiation spread across his kingdom, he would keep this land and he would make it stable, even if he had to build a labyrinth to do
it.
Death eventually caught up with Julius, and on December 24th, 2112, he died, leaving his son Justinian to take the thrown. Justinian oversaw the finishing of the Holy labyrinth across the territory of Jerusalem, connecting all of his underground kingdom together. The rest of Justinian's reign was uneventful, and he died on September 1st, 2139. The next in line for the throne was Justinian's 16 year old son Julius the Second, who led the Empire until his death on October 15th, 2201.
The next two reigns where all uneventful other then advancement of the Labyrinth, which now became a community of sorts, with new villages and cities growing inside of it. On December 25th, 2255, Julius the 3rd took the throne at the age of 18. Under his rule he began to set up the first expeditions onto the surface world and exactly ten years after he took the throne he began to recolonize the Surface World. He found nomads that wondered from the former Caliphate lands had taken up Jerusalem with the leader of the tribe calling himself Caliph Ataturk.
In response, Julius slaughtered all 50,000 of the nomads for encroaching on holy territory. He took the crown of the so called Caliph and put it on himself, crowning himself Patriarch Julius of Jerusalem, Holy King by Grace of God of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, destroyer of Heathens. Any other tribes that encroached on his territory during the nearly 200 year time underground where either converted or slaughtered. Julius also allowed those who wanted to stay underground keep being underground because large cities of at least 100,000 people began to pop up in the labyrinth and he didn't feel like forcibly relocating them to the surface.
Currently Julius is still in rule of the Empire and he is ready to officially begin expanding it.

History of the Nation:
When the bombs fell upon Japan, it was only inevitable that a trade city like Osaka would face a great brunt of the force. A portion of the population of all of Kansai's cites and towns fled to a bunker, located near the city of Nara. The Bunker was, however, poorly constructed, only able to keep out radiation, but with broken air filters, poor food storage, and all around sub par living conditions. The life expectancy in the bunker had dropped to 30 years old on average, meaning many generations would come and pass in this harsh place. Here, the survivors of the great war would lay in wait, with generation after generation passing by, wondering when next they could return to their homelands. For a long while, the people of the Nara bunker slowly began to forget what actually was beyond the gates of their subterranean home. Memories of Japan, of Kansai, began to become entwined with that of legend.

The people in the Bunker began to tell stories of how the gods, disgusted with the decadent lifestyle that the Japanese had taken up, destroyed the world, but focused their wrath especially upon their people, who they saw as degenerate and in need of destruction. They filled the world with demons and fire, and the ancestors of the vault dwellers were believed to actually have died in the destruction, and that the spirits of the ancestors were sent to a hellish plain, still to have children, so that each subsequent generation would suffer as well. It was said that the spirits were locked into a prison of iron, surrounded by powerful fire, and that demons guarded the doors to the outside world. The dwellers of the vault, now totally unaware of the reality of their origins, began to associate the fabled land of Kansai as the paradise that lay beyond their prison, and that Osaka was the name of a prophesied kingdom that would be founded; holding the belief that the Goddess Amaterasu was sympathetic to their cause, and would, when they were ready, send a chosen one, born from her and one of the human dwellers, to free them. And once the savior of the damned would rise up, and free the people of the vault from their hell, he would lead them into the promised paradise to found Osaka.

This did, in turn, prove to be partially true, as the Dwellers did eventually find their way out of the vault, though they were late to arising out of the vault, they eventually were, by a pseudo-legendary figure known under the birth name of Takeshi Minami. Minami was born to an unknown mother, who seemed to have been absent since his birth, and who, according to his father, Yoshiro, was very absent, and only appeared from time to time, and seemingly disappeared the next morning after giving birth to young Takeshi. By the time that Takeshi was 16, he began hearing voices, and having visions of an unknown world. By the time that he was 18, he had been receving these premonitions every night, and, when he turned 18, he received one final revelation.

It is time, you know what must be done.

Suddenly, something seemed to click, all those visions and messages that he had received. He had to break out of the vault.

Minami began to talk to everyone he could, alerting them to the prophetic dreams he had received, and urged them to join him in leaving hell, to go into the promised land. Though most found him to be insane at first, he did achieve followers, and over time, he built a strong party to take on whatever lay beyond the iron gates. When his critics began to detract from his claims, it is said that a miracle happened, and that, in the midst of giving a speech to empower his warriors, before they took on the demons of the outside world, that Takeshi's body glowed with sunlight, and that he had a voice befitting of a powerful king, despite being yet a young man. With his followers at the ready, The Warriors of Minami began their assault into the outside world.

The land of Japan was a damaged world, though vegetation and animals had become stable once again after the centuries that the Vault Dwellers spent underground. Soon, however, the trekers were attacked by Mutants, who they mistook to be the demons of the gods. The ferverous settlers slew all the mutants they could, and soon, they decided it was safe to begin the move onto land, and the march unto Kansai. From this point on, it is said that the people of the vault declared themselves, the Kansaijin, and adopted a temporary life of nomadism as they wandered in search of the promised land.

According to Minami's prophecies, the place were Osaka would be founded, was already chosen by his mother, Amaterasu, who said that she had built for him, a palace for he and his descendants to reside in until the end of all things. After restless trekking in the reborn wilderness of Japan, the Kansaijin, stumbled upon what was once the Osaka Castle, though damaged badly, it was still standing tall above the ruins of Osaka, now mostly reclaimed by nature. The Kansaijin rejoiced, and decide that they would settle in the spot surrounding the palace. Takeshi Minami was renamed to King Kyūseishu, as an honor in his vital role in bringing the Kansaijin to their new home.

However, one problem remained, the grounds near Osaka Castle were infested with mutants, who were quick to attack the Kansaijin as moved in. Thus began the war for Osaka, a battle between the mutants and the humans, ultimately ending with the extermination and expulsion of the mutants, and the settlement of the Kansaijin in the lands of Osaka. From here, it is said that King Minami distributed his lands into 13 pieces, his own personal lands, and 12 plots for his original 12 followers, who were made into his first Daimyo. From this point on, Osaka was largely a City State, though the Daimyo state would often expand outwards. Many records of the archaic period of Osaka have not survived, but it is known that the legend of the promised land began to take on a different meaning over time, with the promised land moving from not only Kansai, but the entirety of the Japanese Islands.

The Shogunate of Osaka really comes into history following their expansion into the Kingdom of Kanto, when they made a revelation that, they were not the only humans in Japan. An explanation developed, that said that following the formation of the Osakan City-State, that occasionally the trouble causing descendants of evil daimyo were expelled, that over time their descendants would form kingdoms of their own, and that as the kings were not descended from Amaterasu, who made a covenant with the Minami Family, that they were illegitimate kingdoms, and must be conquered. In reality, these other humans were likely the descendants of vault dwellers who came onto land. The Shogunate of Osaka has been slowly growing, colonizing new land, killing mutants, and annexing nearby kingdoms. The King waits for the day that he can declare himself Emperor, and unite his kingdom under the name of Japan. For now the Shogunate grows slowly, as technologies from the old days are discovered in ruins, and rediscovered by brilliant minds once again. Osaka is a military powerhouse, with growing technology to support it, though its feudal nature may in fact be the death of it.

The Shogunate is 98% Japanese; a minority of mutants exists as well, making up 2% of the population; they are mostly relegated to slave labor.

The Religion of Osaka, practiced by virtually everyone in the Shogunate, is descended of Japanese Shinto, with the Kami still being present; however, the Osakans are very reverent towards Amaterasu, who they see as the great protector of all of Osaka. They also preform ceremonies and show reverence to King Kyūseishu, who receives a ceremony on the founding day of the Kingdom and on his birthday. It is said that there are elements of Osakan Shinto that seem to be foreign, and though they do not know it, these can be traced back to Christianity, which had a rather large presence in the culture of Japan prior to the bombings, due to growing western influences. Such is seen in Amaterasu's covenant, the presence of a Messianic figure with godly descent, and others.

Other:
The Society of The Osakan Shogunate follows the King (Shogun), who distributes land among the Daimyo. The Daimyo originally numbered in 12, but many more exist now, though all come from 12 aristocratic tribes, who are named after their legendary founder, one of the original Daimyo who were chosen by Kyūseishu. Below the Daimyo, are the Samurai, who are a military caste, in charge of watching over and protecting the Daimyo's lands, keeping his serfs in check, and answering his calls to war. Below the Samurai are the Freemen, who are any humans who do not fall into the previously stated classes, and are not slaves. Slaves are on the bottom, and mostly composed of prisoners of war, and mutants.

Other: Great Britain has subdued the Scots and Welsh by exiling rebellious leaders and 'educating' children into supporting the Kingdom. There is much positive sentiment among the British population overall concerning the unified state, partly due to the much higher survival rate of the English over the Celts. The island of Great Britain is now populated by over 85% English compared to just 10% Celtic - although an anomaly is in Cornwall, where there has been a Celtic population explosion that roughly equals the English population there.

The UK government built a 'Shelter' in Gibraltar as well, within the Rock, but, after the nuclear war, Gibraltar was cut off from all contact with London. Around the same time as the mainland British population, they emerged and re-established their community, but found themselves marooned as a culturally English exclave in a hostile Spanish region. When Royal Navy ships appeared on the horizon, the Gibraltarians were quick to accept British control and protection.

History of the Nation:
It was mere minutes after the War of the Gods ended that there was nothing but radio silence everywhere. There had once been reports from those who were unlucky enough not to get into the Bunkers or had been willing to stay rather than live the rest of their life in an underground safe haven. Many in the Scandinavian region believed that they would eventually run out of food if everybody were in Bunkers so the governments of Sweden, Denmark, and Norway made the decision that only a quarter of their populations would go into bunkers and another quarter would stay in military bases set up in Norway’s many mountains. The plan to keep most of the population above ground was foolish and basic at best, horrendous and inhumane at worst. Those who were sealed in the bunkers were the last hope for those in the Scandinavian region to reclaim the surface.

Despite the initial radio silence between the surface and underground, the many bunkers centered around the strait between the Baltic and North Sea stayed in contact. Through the relay of what information they had, the ten bunkers in the Baltic-North strait managed to survive by the creation of hydroponic plant systems and water purifiers which collected water from the nearby underground reservoir. Technological advances were mostly halted but the bunkers lost very little of their tech. The requirements for making them were lost though. Oddly enough, the children who grew up in the bunkers were taught less about the history of the War and more about the history of Scandinavia leading to generations of men and women who would believe that the above land was where their future was leading towards the recreation of the Great Empire.

Life inside the bunkers were different for each bunker. Some focused on the production of food and clean water more than the others while some were more focused on research into what tech they could create. Eventually, each of the ten vaults would become home to their own political party in the Empire. Once 2260 reached, it was determined by the bunker which would hold the Green Party that it was safe to leave their bunkers. With the surface now open to the bunkers, the citizens inside quickly spread out. Quite a few who wanted to go out on their own died and those who stayed by their bunkers quickly organized and started to build their settlements. Within ten years, the Empire was formed and united under the first elected Party member, Martha Wallace of the Communist Party. Under her rule, production of military based weapons have flourished as she looks to reclaim much of Scandinavia in the months before she must give up her position to a new Emperor. It is unknown if the Empire has any intentions on changing their current course as even the Green Party plants to reclaim more of the beaches of Scandinavia for research into the create of hydraulic based power plants.

History of the Nation (Self Explanatory):
The Senatus Populusque Americanus stayed neutral during the War of Gods for a good while until the Caliphate took the Suez Canal in 2082, which the SPA used to typically bring its goods from New Orleans to the rest of the world. In response the SPA joined in support of the Ethiopian Empire, causing the Mexicans, who supported the Caliphate because of Oil, to bomb all of the capitals of the states except New Orleans, because they knew that the destruction of New Orleans would make the Mississippi River relatively useless.

In Response the SPA began nuking the Mexican Empire. By October the Mexican Empire fell into complete Anarchy, and by early November so had the SPA, who had suffered a lot of population loss because of a lot of them migrating to the UTA and the whole mass destruction of multiple large cities in the Empire. While the SPA government fell into Anarchy a lot of tribes stayed above ground, one of these including the tribe of Orleans, a Cajun group who began to set their capital at the New Super Dome, a giant stadium used for sporting events.

The Tribe of Orleans stayed relatively peaceful for the early history of the peoples. They eventually began to expand because of some more militaristic policies of the Tribal leaders. By 2093 they had taken a lot of the Mississippi Delta, beginning to trade with other tribes in Mississippi and Alabama. It continued like this until 2125, when the Bosier Tribe began an invasion of the Tribe of Orleans. The Bosier tribe had managed to keep control of a lot of military power because of the Airbase in the city, but the Aircraft that the SPA had not moved out before the war where relatively primitive.

The Bosier tribe had taken over the Orleans tribe by 2127 and they forced them upwards towards the city of Alexandria, which is where they put majority of the other tribes to not hurt the conquering efforts. They stayed Oppressed until around 2185, when a man named Louis Sage started his speeches. He began a rebellion that divide the what was now known as the Bosier Empire. While the Empire was more advanced, the rebellion had support from the peoples of Mississippi and Alabama, who joined in the rebellion to try and take out the violent Bosier peoples. The rebellion itself took years, but by 2235 they had surrounded the Bosier city area. It seemed to be going great until Louis himself was killed in battle. The populace decided that the next leader should be his son Boudreaux, who while young, was trained by Louis to bring the Empire to greatness.

Boudreaux began marching his armies against the capital of the Empire, and they began burning down the military base to destroy the armaments of the oppressors. Without their superior aircraft the Bosier Empire was forced to fight on the ground which ended up being what caused the fall of the Empire. The year was 2237 and Boudreaux took control of what was left. For a while he was a benevolent ruler, but that was until his wife was murdered by Bosier Rebels who still believed in the Empire that stood before him. Boudreaux's insanity started after that, and it just got worse.

In 2247 he turned his newly constructed Aircraft (A mix of Zeppelins and World War One-like Aircraft) at the nations of Mississippi, overpowering and conquering them by 2250. His next sight for expansion was the Alabama, who had been united at this point by Dickinson Saban. The Kingdom of Louisiana had fallen into more oppression then before, but Boudreaux had everything so surveyed by his Angels of Death (His Secret Police armed with Power Armor, if they think that you are plotting a revolution they kill you) that no one could argue. The Republic of Alabama put up a good fight, but they eventually where overtaken and destroyed in 2255, with Dickinson Saban being executed later that year.

In 2260 Boudreaux's insanity had begun calling on him to do his ancestors proud and saying that he was to have the wiseness of Charlemagne and the Power of Napoleon, causing him to change the name of his country to the Louisianian Empire and his overall name to Charlemagne Bonaparte Lesage, with Lesage being his former surname in the old French version.

His Empire itself now stands tall as a beacon of a once benevolent kingdom turning into an Empire of death and destruction with an insane leader at its head. Charlemagne dreams of not only uniting the former United States, but even reconquering the French lands in Europe.

Majority of the Louisianian Territory in the actual state of Louisiana was never nuked because of how irrelevant it was in the overall war effort. While some areas, such as the city of Baton Rouge, where destroyed, New Orleans and Shreveport where not, leaving the Bosier Airbase open.

Feudal Despotic Monarchy - Lead by the Great Khan Tohgon Atilla, the Great Khan rules with absolute authority over his domain. He is assisted by the Elder Council of Hodilurn, consisting of a dozen wisemen and sages who give advice on how best to rule over the kingdom and deal with issue to the Great Khan. Together, the Great Khan and the Elder Council are known as the "Thra-Dorian".

Under the Thra-Dorian is the Unde-Dorian that consists of the regular Khans who lead certain areas assigned to them. Swearing fealty to the Great Khan, they are expected to follow his every word. In essence, they are his vassals but do not pay tribute to the Great Khan. The Great Khan takes all of their taxes which they collect and redistribute portions of it back; this is one of the methods used to ensure the Khans stay loyal.

Heirs are chosen by the royal bloodline with the sons going through the "Trials of Heaven and Hell". In the Trial of Heaven, they must demonstrate their knowledge and wit before the Elder Council while in the Trial of Hell, they are too best the best warriors in combat. Other Khans can challenge the Great Khan to take his title but must slay him in single combat during the Trial of Hell. Needless to say, Great Khans do not often die of in Trials for good reason.

While the Khergits are nomadic tribes with no real "borders" (most Khans just wonder their tribes where ever the fuck they want), the Horde does have more settled areas due to recent Great Khans's ordering places that give the benefit of being in one place (or Khans who just got lazy and didn't want to always be on the move) called "Karaks". These settlements can be thought of villages or well-developed tribal camps. The vast majority of Karaks are located in the Central Asian steppes but Khans who either accidentally or purposely settle their tribes into a Karak in other lands beyond the "borders" are not unheard of.

Some use communal free will which people openly take what they want and give what the can in hopes of good will. Others use simple bartering with prices determined by local merchants and Khans. Some exclusively use the Umol, the "official currency" of the horde. Use mostly in the larger tribes and Kazaks, the Umol is accepted in all Khergit lands and strongholds but isn't always used in.

External trade is somewhat uncommon as more often than not, the Khergit just raid villages and caravans and the like for materials or demand it in tribute from weaker foes. Exporting is also just used as a sign of good will more often than not. That said, there are tribes that act as oversized caravans and Karaks with large market places that can be seen as trade hubs.

Demographics:

Actual knowledge of the demographics of the horde is unknown due to the vast number of tribes and peoples living under the Khergit banner. It can be said that the number of different races is great and mutant Ungors who were the "original" Khergits make up a good portion of the population.

Religion & Culture

Religion:
The Khergits's main belief is called "Tengeriinkhusel" meaning "the Will of the Heavens" and is often shortened to just "Tengri". It tells of a Sky Maiden and an Earth Warden who created the world and their children and grandchildren who control various other elements of life. It is a polytheistic faith with no concept of prophets or holy text. It is exclusively told by various sages, oracles and shamans of the various tribes however due to the nature of oral tradition, some parts of it have been skewed a little leading to different quasi-sects but in all have enough similarities to still be called the same religion. Recently there have been attempts of writing it down however to keep the faith in a more permeant, uniformed manner.

A unique part of the religion is the idea of "Monitegel" or "Syncretic Faith" where different tribes will adopt certain aspect of the local religion of the area they're in. While this does make record keeping hard as some tribes will switch between their Monitegels quite often, it does make assimilating new people into the fold a much smoother process. This also means that Tengri is also a surprisingly accepting faith to outsiders.

White trees, often just called "Tengri Trees" are considered a holy plant/symbol in Tengri as they are seen as an unborn child of the Sky Maiden and the Earth Warden. So much so that many are converted to holy sites where the trees have grown massive in size and even have dedicated guards. Chopping down these trees or harming them in anyway is seen as a major offense and a personal attack on the two major pantheons. Trees simply painted white is also seen offensive as its thought to be an attempt to trick the gods. However, white-painted lumber not from trees known not to be Tengri Trees are accepted and seen as a sign of power. Many Khans and nobles have white-painted furniture because of this and one can fetch a good price in Khergit lands when selling white-painted timber.

Perceived Culture:
To outsiders, the life of a Khergit is hard, savage and often barbaric. Many see them as raiders and glorified bandits who come into lands for no purpose than to rape, pillage and burn. Some hold them in the highest disscontempt as mounted cavemen who either are overly attached to their horses or roll around in the dirt, praying to shamanistic gods and idols. Military men who have fought them say that they are a savage and annoying bunch who use annoying, dishonorable tactics in war that force the people they brutally conquer to fight for them as cannon fodder. They will admit they have come up with some pretty ingenious creations and approaches to war, but that's all the respect they'll offer. Many say they are demon spawns or monsters, others propagate they are much, much worse.

Actual Culture:
What most people say about the Khergits are actually more true to what their predecessors, the Kharrigands, where. However, they keep the appearance of savagery up as its a good facade that stops people from thinking they're too soft and it gives enemies a good moral shock when in battle.

Although the life of a Khergit is hard, its never as bad as its thought of by others. Khergit society is rigidly structured but its engineered in a way that doesn't seem oppressive; and with help from some propaganda, many see it as the "natural order of things". Everyone knows what to do and doesn't question it.

The horde also has a very diverse of people, leading its culture being variety and many and have proven themselves to be an accepting bunch. Khergit engineering, while unknown to many, is surprisingly durable and can handle a lot of punishment, even if its lacking in some other parts. The people eat more than raw animal intestines and flowers, there is actually industry in the Karaks and not everything is based on military and raiding. That said, the Khergits do raid other lands.

One major surprise that the Khergits have that many don't expect is the concept of mercy. They refuse to kill a dying man without first trying to save him and any captured prisoners are given a change to be accepted into Khergit society. Even when going into a land to conquer, they give the people a chance to surrender. That said, some tribes are more aggressive than others and sometimes "forget" about the rule of mercy.

History:

The Khergits were never actually put into a bunker when the world ended, their descendants having mostly been evacuated to secure camps in the steppes. Due to the unremarkable location which otherwise had no great resources, they were spared being nuked into non-existence as no nation targeted the steppes and wastelands in favor of more populated areas. However, the radiation still spread to the camps causing mutations in the inhabitants which lead them to becoming what is known today as "Ungors".

Over the many years, these "preservation camps" had devolved into something of a tribal clan with the one the Khergits came from known as Camp UGR-40 "Kharrigand" which is what had created the name of Khergit. The camps themselves did not live very long as overcrowding soon became an issue forcing them to actually build shelters beyond the walls of the camps, Camp URG-40 was no exception. Things soon got very tribal and savage indeed as notable members of the camps built themselves up as Chieftans or Kings or Khans or any other variety of names used and began attacking each other.

The inhabitants of Camp URG-40 however, was one of the peaceful tribes, still calling themselves what the camp was named, the Kharrigands. However, despite their attempts at diplomacy and the like, they were forced out of their camp after a savage raid by neighboring tribes. Now forced into a nomadic lifestyle, the Kharrigands still tried to remain with their peaceful ways, accepting refugees from other tribes who had been raided until disaster struck again.

The tribe known as the Onrebaj, a tribe who was part of the attack that forced the Kharrigands out of their home attacked the new nomads once more. In the aftermath, a man named Khalli Olar rose to power, promising that he would protect the Kharrigands. And so, the Kharrigands once more rebuilt where they were defeated, the now Lord Olar telling everyone they should abandon the ways of the nomad. The peaceful tribe that had once been victim to endless attacks was suddenly the attackers, counter-raiding and conquring the lands of their enemies and repressing them with an iron foot.

However, Olar's brutal policies did not sit well with many people who were only kept in line by fear. Many critics and opposition leaders where silenced. One of said people was Zhimas Chanchukua, an Earth Ungor of great strength and even greater nerve who preached about returning to a nomadic life style akin to that of the Huns and less repressive than Olar's rule. Understandably, the Lord Olar had him silenced at once and had Zhimas executed in public to make a show. However, with that act Olar had began the construction of his own coffin as Zhimas's son, Shuukh was in the crowd and started to plot to kill his father's killer.

The Chanchukua family was never one to support Olar, hating how he flaunted his wealth and power like toys, but Suukh was the one who brought it to light and frutation. Once of age, he overthrew Olar with an army of supporters and executed him in public view like his father had been killed. But before the axe fell, Olar revealed he wasn't from and preservation camp at all and that his real name wasn't even Olar, but in fact from elsewhere the Kharrigands never heard of. Unfortunately the axe fell before Olar could spill anything more than his blood, prompting Suukh to imdiately search for the lands that Olar claimed he hailed from in vengance.

Outside of his hunt for the homelands of Olar, the new Great Khan Suukh went to reorganizing soceity in his own image, loosening the grip on the tribes that the Kharrigands had conquered, setting up a new social hierarchy and reforming the military, all based on knowledge of what the Huns were like from his father, going so far as to rename his lineage "Attila" and renaming his people, the Khergits to try and cleanse the memory of the now infamous Kharrigands.

Now, years later with Suukh's bloodline still in power, the Khergit horde is still on the move, gaining more and more territory and searching for the homeland of Olar (now referred to as Olarland or Olarhold). And despite discovering all sorts of new goodies and tech, the Horde is no closer to finding the mystical land but the land under there control has grown. And show no sign of stopping.

Other:

• Despite having access to some forms of modern medicine, Khergits still mostly use traditional folk remedies.
• The Khergit military is based on speed and lots of it with safety taking a sideline.
• The Khergit army does not discriminate genders and even has women amongst its top ranks and legends. Huzzah for progressive policies! :D
• Some of the the things the Khergits do/make run on nonsenolium, logic fails of the Khergit include:
  
  • Stealth technologies based on painting things neon hot pink reasons because "no one has ever seen a hot pink tank"
  • Painting vehicles red because "the red ones go faster"
  • Eating bioluminescent mushroom to recharge battery-powered/electricity-powered equipment
  • Using moldy jam sandwiches to counteract radar jamming, because the mold in the bread absorbs jam.
• The Khergits will act very differently between people who they see as friends and who they do not see as friends.
  • People on good terms with them do not have to suffer through all the things the Khergits are infamous for
  • The Khergits still encourage their friends to spread wild rumors of how horrible they are for appearances and for shits and giggles.
• The Khergits are scared as hell of balloons. Not like zeppelin balloons and that stuff, colored party balloons will make even the bravest of Khergit warriors shit his pants.

History of the Nation:
The right to self rule had always plagued China from the Tibetan plateau. Whether in active resistance or in passive. But ever since its reoccupation by Chinese forces in 1950 the Himalayan kingdom had not known independence. Even as his holiness the Dalai Lama passed from this world and the lineage of the reincarnation of Gendün Druppa in the 14th century. Although gone, the Gelug sect of Tibetain Buddhism remained. Even as the bombs fell.

For those that could not retreat to protective shelters built in the highlands by the Chinese government they fled to the monasteries that dotted the Tibetan highlands and took refuge there among the monks until fire ceased falling from the sky. And when it did, all semblance of a China that was had been eradicated. And so shielded by the Himalayan mountains where what fallout existed had fallen with the rains in the southern lowlands life readopted – if somewhat unceremoniously – what it had since before even the Qing.

When the nuclear shelters finally reopened a new demography of Tibetain re-emerged. Sheltered from the brutality of the war and the climate they were a group of shelter dwellers unaccustomed to dealing with life in the mountains. But life in the shelters provided something a life tending yaks could not: they were academic.

Alliances between strong individuals and monks of the plateau effectively created and built a new bureaucracy. With these princes deriving legitimacy from the blessing of monks they named and styled themselves princes and assumed their posts to rule the harsh rocky landscape of Tibet. From the highest peaks to the lowest green valleys.

An effect of monastic influence though tempered with the secular authority derived from the princes in turn eroded many of their old-world familial names as many turned to align themselves even closer to the monks and themselves took up the name of Tibetan Monks: Gyatso. This has in turn effected inter-prince relationships by destroying dynastic identity in favor of monastic loyalty.

The first to practice this was the self-titled Prince of Lhasa, Dromtönpa Tsongkhapa; a young shelter-born Tibetan with a certain martial prowess. His adaptation of the name Gyatso earned considerable respect among the monasteries and still new to the surface others followed suit.

Dromtönpa Tsongkhapa Gyatso was ultimately assassinated by rival princes in the year 2270, hoping his son Samten Khyenpa Gyatso would prove distantly inept in his hermitage adventures. However on his return home later that winter he was horrified and astonished at his father's death. He retreated into mourning and meditation, only to come out to be crowned as the second Gyatso prince of Lhasa. And though considered philosophical, the sudden violent death of his father had brought to light a vengeful fire.

Per the rest of Tibet, the Gelug – Yellow Hat sect – of Tibetain Buddhism provides a level of lower-level social harmony. While the princes may play the pieces of political control across the highlands much of the charitable work is organized by the monks and the Lamas. Princely association is wrought through protection of these missions and to the monasteries. The operational apparatus of the Gelug has as well maintained associations with the predominately Buddhist Mongolian tribes of the north as much as through the rest of the Himalayan mountains.

Though all the sects exist in practice in Tibet, only the Gelug is the most predominate. Focused on debate and reason the Yellow Hat school arose as a reformist movement to the older schools of Tibetan Buddhism. And since the modern era and prior to Chinese re-occupation it has been at the forefront of Tibetan politics and epitomized by Thubten and Tenzin Gyatso (the 13th and 14th Dalai Lama respectively).

Even before the bombs the Tibetan region has had poor industrial developments. Even when forced by the Chinese economic adventures in Tibet had most often failed. Although the region is poor does not put it out by their own standards and the Tibetans are a resilient, resistant people.

With the withdrawal of Chinese authority from the region the surviving Tibetan population had to re-draw its own military. The monasteries originally filled this roll with the drawing of old monastic guards – or Dob-dobs – to provide protection for themselves and the people. But with the rise of the princes there has been a much greater shift to centralized regional armies organized by them. Though these individuals may often be armed in a way considered more medieval than contemporaries in Europe. All the same, some stockpiles of still-working Chinese weapons are available to the Tibetans but their sparseness ensures that they'll only be withdrawn when the need is dire.

Also furthering Gelug habit, the nature of debate and intellectual argument has bred into the new aristocracy a craving of philosophy and debate and many princely sons do not turn themselves to war but into philosophy.

The government of Chilliwack is democratically elected by a general vote of its citizens. The current incumbent government is The Canada Restoration Party, which promotes heavy migration and extreme military action, to reclaim all of what was once Canada, and to then expand south. The party is lead by Prime Minister William McGuinness, a grizzled, industrious man, who seeks to ensure his name is not lost to history.
Each of the Hutterite communes is individually governed by a council of elders, who are appointed to the position by the elder before them. Needless to say, almost all the elders are the sons of the previous ones. The councils regularly gather together, to ensure that changes in government affect every Hutterite community simultaneously, giving the functional effect of having all Hutterites live under a centralized government.

History of the Nation:
When the bombs fell, the major cities of Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton were wiped off the map. When the descendants of the Vancouverites emerged from their bunkers in the early 2200's, they found a wasteland where their city had been. This lead to the great pilgrimage of 2209, where the surviving tribes of Vancouver traveled inland, and discovered that the British Columbian city of Chilliwack hadn't been hit by a bomb. It was here, in the decayed, but largely intact ruins of Chilliwack, that they rebuilt Canadian civilization, establishing the Republic of Chilliwack. As they reestablished contact with communities along the Pacific coast, and up into the north of British Columbia, they discovered that several areas where already inhabited by some strange German-speaking cult. Eventually, contact was made with the elders of this tribe, who still maintained a grasp on the English language. They identified themselves as the Hutterites, a religious minority that fled Europe in the late 1800's, who had been living in isolation for more than 300 years. Being far away from any civilization, and pacifist in nature, they were completely untouched by the war's destruction. With all other remaining life hidden inside sealed bunkers, the Hutterite communities flourished. They expanded across the prairies, and into northern British Columbia, establishing a heavily populated agriculture empire. They even sent scouts out, marking out and walling-off radioactive zones. Needless to say, their technology hadn't developed as it had in the bunkers. They rejected most technology, and only made advancements relating to agriculture.
The people of Chilliwack needed fresh food and materials to supply their expanding society, and the Hutterites needed protection from the technological giants that would be emerging in the world, so they drafted the "Treaty of Kamloops", establishing a dual-government coalition between the Hutterite communes and the Republic of Chilliwack.
This strong coalition, combining a relatively massive population and food surplus, with modern military technology, now seeks to expand its reach, uniting and recolonizing the rest of North America. The problem that obstructs these ambitions, of course, are the other surviving societies that have since emerged in North America. While the Vancouverites of Chilliwack would gladly use force to expand their empire, the Hutterites are strict pacifists, and would refuse any such action. With the majority of the coalition's population being Hutterite, it's simply not an option. Nonetheless, there is a great deal of empty land, ripe for the taking.

Military:
The Republic of Chilliwack has a moderate force of full-time soldiers, who are stationed at outposts across all coalition land. They are armed mainly with pre-war assault rifles, but the Chilliwack National Guard is outfitted with laser weaponry and light power armour. Research is constantly underway in the heart of the capital city, developing new methods of "keeping the Republic safe".
The Hutterite communes believe that the nuclear fallout of the world was God's fulfillment of "the meek shall inherit the Earth", and that it is their sworn duty to remain unarmed at all times. As such, the population eligible for military enlistment is greatly limited, with all soldiers coming from the non-Hutterite regions of Southern British Columbia.
