Sienna doesn’t know how to swim and is afraid of drowning because that was one of the ways her father maintained control over her: by threatening to leave her alone in their estate’s lake. When approached by a boggart, it surrounds her with turbulent blue waves as though she is submerged underwater.

Tawny Owl named Dally. He is her oldest friend, because he’s the only pet her father allowed. He bought it for her at Diagon Alley before Sienna started her first year at Hogwarts.


►A P P E A R A N C E◄
She has grey-tinged dark brown hair that she tends to wear straight, brown skin from her Latina/African heritage, shy brown eyes, and she usually wears plum-colored lipstick. Her clothing style is goth-chic; she likes to wear dark colors, usually dresses or skirts with tights and combat boots. She has the dark mark on the inside of her right thigh; hence the constant wearing of tights to hide it. She has her septum pierced, double piercings in each earlobe and a cartilage piercing in her right ear, a belly button piercing which is a snowflake charmed to float, and a magical tattoo of a phoenix taking flight that spans from her left hipbone to the top of her left ribcage; it can flap its wings and change position like magical art can. She is 5'5" tall and is very slim, and not particularly athletic.

Sienna has always felt like the odd one out. The only thing she feels comfortable about is her sense of style. She has a beautiful singing voice, and was never allowed to sing at home because it was too cheerful. Because of the dark nature of her father and brother, there were many things Sienna couldn’t do at home. She couldn’t laugh or speak out of turn or sing or dance; so it became difficult for her to find ease in doing such things and making friends once she got to Hogwarts. The past six years of student life have helped her to be herself, but upon returning home in the summer, she always had to revert to the behavior her father deemed ‘acceptable’. He tried to get her into an arranged marriage with an awful young wizard, Conor, who treated her poorly but lost interest once Sienna’s father disowned her and kicked her out. Sienna had to stay at the Leaky Cauldron during the few days between getting kicked out, and starting her seventh year at Hogwarts.

Upon being forced to leave, Sienna got her phoenix tattoo as a symbol of her intentions to take flight and bring light to the world, rather than darkness. Each piercing she got was a reminder of the wounds in her life: her double piercings in each ear were for her father, her cartilage piercing in her right ear was for her brother, her septum piercing was for Conor, and her navel piercing was for her mother.

Sienna finds comfort in spending time in Hogwarts’ vast library, singing in the choir, and perfecting charms and spells. Charms class is her favorite, although she also enjoys Transfiguration, Herbology, Potions, and Care of Magical Creatures. She doesn’t like Defense Against the Dark Arts only because it makes her think about her father and brother; but she considers it to be one of her most important classes, because she hopes to possibly become an Auror or go into a profession that despises and halts the efforts of dark wizards.

When people learn that she has never had a boyfriend, they’re often quite surprised. Sienna has a unique, somewhat exotic appearance, and she’s caught the attention of many guys over the years; but they either wind up being not brave enough to approach her, or they come on too strong, and remind her of the man she was almost forced to marry. Her former suitor verbally and physically abused her from the time she was 15 until she turned 17, making her feel worthless and angry with herself. All of the men in her life—her father, brother, and suitor—have made it hard for her to feel comfortable around guys. Now that she doesn’t have to deal with them anymore, Sienna is able to relax a bit more; but it will take a special kind of guy to capture her heart and keep it safe without scaring her.

Sienna mostly spends time by herself, and is friendly with her fellow Ravenclaws. She tries to be nice to students from other houses, too, but prefers the company of other intellectuals, or herself. Sometimes it can be hard to interact with students from other houses because Hufflepuffs can be too cheerful and talkative, Slytherins can be a little negative and accidentally demeaning, and Gryffindors can be a bit too much for her to handle. But she sees and appreciates the good qualities in people from every house.

Sienna ‘s father and 20-year-old brother are dark wizards. Her mother was a Muggle whom her father truly loved enough to renounce his dark ways; but with her death left all the hope and light Sienna had for her remaining family members. Her father fell into darkness once more and raised his children to value the Dark Arts and ways of the dark wizards. Sienna doesn’t want to follow in her family’s footsteps, and her father disowned her at the end of summer before her Seventh year. Sienna isn’t sure where she will go or what she will do after graduating from Hogwarts.

►H I S T O R Y◄
Sienna was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico; her father’s hometown. Her mother and father met when he was working at the Ministry of Magic in England and fell instantly in love, even though she was a Muggle. As a fully pure-blooded Wizard, Luis ordinarily looked down on Muggles, but Jayde was different. She was truly special to him. Luis Rodriguez was so moved by his love for Jayde that he renounced his dark ways and married her. His work took him first to America, where Sienna’s brother was born, and then to his own homeland of Puerto Rico, where Sienna was born three years after her brother.

When Sienna was 3, her family moved back to England so Luis could return to his regular job at the Ministry. Sadly, three years later, her mother fell ill. Luis tried everything to save her, but his efforts were to no avail. He even took her to St. Mungo’s, but they couldn’t treat her. Luis dabbled in the Dark Arts again, trying to find a cure, but Jayde passed away in the summer, when Sienna was 6 years old.
Jayde’s death launched Luis back into his old ways. He became cold and cruel, and his son Claudio, torn by grief at a young age, knew no better than to look up to his father and follow his ways. Sienna was different; having inherited her mother’s gentle spirit and sweet heart. She didn’t see the world through rose-colored lenses, but she saw good in everyone; even her father and brother. She hoped beyond hope that they would get better and go back to the way they were before.

Claudio began to resent Sienna, because she reminded him too much of his wife. It didn’t help that she was not so easily swayed as her older brother. He took his anger out on her, branding her with the Dark Mark when she was only 8 years old in an attempt to force her submission, after threatening to drown her, among other threats and minor spellwork, didn’t work. Sienna learned to do as he told her, although inside, she remained as good and pure as her mother taught her to be, and resented everything about the Dark Arts, although she never grew to hate her father or her brother, who was just like her father, only worse.

Sienna was 15 when Luis decided that the only way to be sure she wouldn’t rebel would be to marry her into a pureblooded family of dark wizards. He basically paid a man 7 years older than her to marry her once she turned 17; having to bribe him with money because she was half-Muggle. The marriage would benefit him, too, because he would be able to regain some credibility among dark wizards, after having abandoned his ways to marry a Muggle. Conor, her intended, was the youngest of three brothers in a long line of dark wizards, and was just as bad as her father and brother, verbally abusing her, and even physically striking her if he didn’t like her tone of voice or the way she looked at him.

Sienna finally broke free from all of that when she gained the courage to talk back to her father, having reached the last straw when Conor drew his wand against her. That had led to a duel, which she won, having managed to disarm and stun him before running away. Her father was so angry with her for ruining the connection he’d forged with Conor’s family that he almost raised his wand himself. Instead, he disowned her and threw her out of the house.

-Sienna’s middle name is Safiya, which is an African name that means “pure”.

-Sienna can speak fluent Spanish, and often speaks to her owl, Dally, in Spanish. She also writes in her diary in Spanish, so there is less of a chance of people being able to read it.

- When Sienna first mastered the corporeal Patronus Charm, it took on the form of an Okapi, which was her mother’s favorite animal.

-Some students were confused and a little disturbed when she started her seventh year with a bunch of new piercings, but they couldn’t possibly understand the reason behind them, so Sienna didn’t care. Eventually, kids stopped giving her weird looks when she walked into the room.

-Sienna's hair has been colored this way ever since her mother died. At only 6 years old, Sienna's strong magic and turbulent emotions collided, and resulted in this strange but interesting grey accent to her hair. It has never gone away, and Sienna has grown to like it.
