Wells smiled at the committee member.

"I don't need the work. I just want a bit more of it, you know?"

Suddenly, a void appeared behind Wells. He felt afraid, although his lack of instincts meant that he simply stared at the ground. Then his fear faded, and he was prepared to face anything that came outside. People were crying, others merely feared for their lives. Some were frozen in horrors, while others prepared for their deaths. There was no doubt that some people would have nightmares of this moment. Suddenly, red eyes looked from beyond the darkness. And a terrifying roar unlike any struck despair into the crowd. After a very long minute, a figure appeared from the dark portal. While people took a few seconds to ensure that what they saw was real, Wells listened to a few lines in his head. Bizzarely, the person from the portal casually walked to the committee, signing the form and receiving his papers. He completely ignored the people crushed by fear right behind him!

This was his chance to make people smile.

"Are you rude?" Wells said, hoping that the entire crowd could hear his voice.

He looked at the mysterious, pale man. He scowled as he did it, and it seemed very out of place on his face. He took long, confident steps towards him, hoping to become the center of attention. After a few steps, he replaced his scowl with an almost cruel smile. Then he took a few seconds, hoping to let the sentence set in.

"You must think that's an absurd question. Because it's obvious, right? You created a pool of darkness on the ground, looked at us with glowing red eyes, and roared like a demon. I wasn't very nice in my introduction, but I didn't make everyone here fear for their lives! Yes, we can tell that you're an avatar. But now you've spoiled it for the rest of us! Some won't forget it for years, every night recalling the greatest terror in their lives. It makes me wonder..." Wells snarled as he spoke, hoping to display bubbling anger nearly bursting.

Again, Wells waited a few seconds to let what he said set in. Hopefully, he could make the crowd quiet so that everyone could hear his next few words.

"Are you an idiot?"

Kaze found himself entranced in the next few moments by a pink-haired woman who seemed to be compressing gems out of thin air and molding them into Pokémon in the vicinity. One, much to his delight, was in the shape of his Chingling. But all were distracted from her after her creation of a Poochyena-shaped stone when an ebon portal ripped open. After a number of demonic sights and sounds, a human stepped forth from the void and declared his entrance. A few found the entrance entertaining, one even shouting his love for the creepy being, but most--Kaze included--considered it frightening. Pulling Jingle closer, Kaze curled into the fetal position and turned his back to the pitch.

Then, one man bravely challenged the Avatar who claimed to be Giratina. Looking up, Kaze recognized the challenger to be the green-clad Avatar who had leaped so far into the air earlier.

"Are you an idiot?" the man interrogated, fury painted across his face. While Kaze agreed that the Giratina-Avatar's entrance was inappropriate, provoking him was not the way to handle the situation. He and Jingle glanced at each other, then back at the scene. Something would have to be done, but what?

Vuduin looked at the shadowy man that had appeared, rather similar to himself, with interest. He sensed a sort of kindred with the man. It seemed as though they were similar. As a result he was understandably angered for several reasons when the angry jumping man from earlier began loudly talking accusingly. Vuduin handed his papers to the man who had welcomed him and stepped next to Germaine the Giratina avatar. "I'd prefer you rethink your word choice. The tournament of legends starts later you'll remember and the parade is tomorrow. Yet you seem to be attempting to both parade yourself and start a fight, I request that you do both of those in the proper place and time." Vuduin said quietly yet forcefully. He didn't like this man very much, not at all. Shade floated about his shoulder nodding approvingly the red scarf he wore waving around erratically.

Porygon-Z paused mid-word as its swirly eyes landed on another man who seemed to be waiting to check in. The Pokemon instantly became calm and clinical as it hovered toward David and conducted the same silent, intensive scan as before. After a while, it nodded and faced David directly.

"This check-in is for avatars only," it stated simply, as if it hadn't broken out into joyous song just a couple minutes ago. "Sir, if you are indeed an avatar, please state your representative Pokemon and prove your power by attacking me with a move."

David rubbed his head. The showy, flashy entrance really wasn't the kind of thing he had been aiming for. "I'm the avatar of Regirock" David said coldly, throwing a punch into chest of the Porygon-Z. The Pokemon was surprisingly sturdy, not budging an inch. His skin briefly cracked all over his body, the skin becoming like stone. His body usually had the defensive properties of this new coating, but every punch he threw made the layer thicker and thicker - causing his physical attacks to hit harder. After a couple of seconds, the cracks sealed and his skin returned to a smooth brown complexion. "I know that isn't the sort of attack you where hoping for, but it's all your getting from me" he said, his voice jaded.

Then it appeared. Big, fearsome, a monster of nightmares. Glowing red eyes, a form made of darkness and shadows. This wasn't just a pokemon. This was an avatar, and a powerful one at that. This display of power was more then he had said previously. The boy who was attacking with incredible slashes of wind or the boy who levitated, even the diamond girl. They had an immaturity to the displays of power, it wasn't disciplined or controlled but they didn't mean to harm anyone. This one was different. He was using his power to intimidate and feel above everyone else around him.

"Maybe coming wasn't such a waste of time after all..." he muttered, talking to himself. As the figure stepped out into the courtyard, making a grand entrance Tirtouga caught up with him; unlike the mixed reactions Tirtouga seemed fairly unfazed by the spectacle. If anything, he showed a morbid curiosity for the hybrid.

'I don't care how much you talk about 'disciple' and 'restraint', dude has more style then you ever will' the tortoise japed smugly. David shook his head and gave him a disapproving glance. The tortoise replied with a shocked expression, as if the simple act of glancing had offended him. I bet if we got him to battle, he would be an interesting challenge. Come on, I saw your face light up when you first saw him. You want to have a go at kicking his smug ass back into the inky hole he crawled from, right? That is why we came here, you have that odd sense of justice and preventing the abuse of power right?'

"It isn't like that. Battling trainers who don't appreciate their pokemon, protecting the weak. It's different to this. I've never fought one of my own... and I seriously am concerned if I could keep up with a pokemon that has power..." David said, a man of principle and calmness feeling fear. This wasn't right... why was he shaken to his core belief? Ever since the thing showed up, it had felt like he had a heavy weight on his shoulders, and he could feel his darker emotions more. What was this atmosphere he had put in the room... this pressure?

Then the idiot bawled into the center of the room. He was young, and was underestimating his opponent, he was going to get hurt because he wanted to look like a hero... It was reckless, it couldn't be helped, he was digging his own grave.

'Stop. This lack of confidence, this self pity. It's pathetic and it's not you. You CAN hold your own against that brute if you needed too. Ignore your nerves.'

Just hearing the words snapped him back to reality a little bit. Whatever that man, Germaine had done. It's effect lessened a little. The negative emotions still clung to the back of his mind like shackles, but he could at least ignore them for now. The confrontation seemed to be escalating as Vuduin stood by Germaine. David shook his head, and joined Wells. "He isn't going to be rewording anything. The man you defend is a bully and a pretender. A man of that power shouldn't be flaunting his talents to scare children, it's pathetic and behavior like that is below us; we are representatives of the greatest Pokemon to have walked the face of this planet. He is abusing his gift" He gave a knowing glance to the man by his side, and compressed a grin from taking over his face. He finally had opponents worth fighting. But something still felt wrong about the dark avatar. The pale complexion, white hair - none of that gave it away. It was the way his eyes appeared dead and almost apathetic to the chaos he had caused. How much of him was still human?

Porygon-Z flinched a bit at David's Power-Up Punch, thankful he didn't use the fighting-type move at full power. Its eyes dulled and it emitted a few beeps again.

"Scan complete," it intoned. "Avatar identified."

With that, Porygon-Z commenced another techno dance party. Unlike last time, this one went mostly unnoticed... the nightmarish appearance of Germaine occupied the crowd's attention and drowned out the Pokemon's cheerful beeping.

Porgyon-Z ended its private party and moved to shake David's hand, only to discover that he was no longer there. Looking around, the pink Pokemon soon found the Regirock avatar chatting with three others. These unusual humans looked like they might be avatars, too. With a level of tact only achievable by a robot, Porygon-Z hovered straight into the middle of the four avatars squaring off.

"This check-in is for avatars only," it stated professionally, swiveling its head around to address everyone in the group. "Sirs, if you are indeed avatars, please state your representative Pokemon and prove your power by attacking with a move."

Wells casually Air Slashed Porygon Z.

"I represent Rayquaza."

He gauged Germaine's response, ready to jump into a more fitting place to strike from. He also read lines in his mind, hoping that his plan of calming down the pale man wouldsucceed if it had to. There were many ways to approach the issue, and the tension between them let him prepare a hopefully convincing speech. That would be his first decision, in case it seemed like Germaine tried something.

Germaine was scanning through the advertisements looking for a restaurant, little unbeknownst to him what was about to occur, things were looking up for him as he had discovered a place that made things called "Rice balls", they looked and sounded quite tasty. Germaine was about to get Kirlias opinion on them before these words scratched their way through the air.

"Are you rude?" The tone was clearly meant to be either offensive or aggressive and was raised loud enough for some people to start looking over to the pair with interest.
Germaine retained a straight face as he raised his head and stared at the man who uttered these words - it was the avatar of Rayquaza - named Wells if he remembered correctly.

The man continued to speak, with anger being the main emotion emitting from his words.

It makes me wonder..."

Now, almost everyone was watching this one sided exchange, no doubt that was this mans intent - to cause a scene rather than mean anything malicious behind his hollow words.
He finished his monologue with -
"Are you an idiot?

Before Germaine could reply however, he sensed someone move with purpose; someone who was akin to him in some ways certainly another Legendary that has suffered neglect to a similar degree to himself.
The avatar of Darkrai; not someone Germaine thought he'd ever befriend that's for sure, but, indeed someone worth their mettle.
This man, named Vuduin spoke next, offering a retort and to evidently offer his support to Germaine.

""I'd prefer you rethink your word choice. The tournament of legends starts later you'll remember and the parade is tomorrow. Yet you seem to be attempting to both parade yourself and start a fight, I request that you do both of those in the proper place and time."
He too spoke with anger lacing his words.
And in essence he had reconfirmed what Germaine had originally thought this was, which was merely an attempt at bravado - to appear to be the hero and save the damsels in distress from the big scary monster.
In short; a child.

What occurred next surprised Germaine even more however - a 4th avatar stepped in this time backing the child, he spoke with conviction just as Darkrai had - as to be expected of the avatar named David or Regirock, sturdy and unmoving as ever.
But this pile of rock said something that made Germaine speak, he would not let it lie or wait for a band of new avatars to step into this.

David spoke, with a small underlying quiver in his voice that was barely noticeable.

"He isn't going to be rewording anything. The man you defend is a bully and a pretender. A man of that power shouldn't be flaunting his talents to scare children, it's pathetic and behavior like that is below us; we are representatives of the greatest Pokemon to have walked the face of this planet. He is abusing his gift"

That was it.
That word: "Abusing"

During the entire exchange Germaine had remained silent, his gaze ever unwavering whenever he met another avatars eyes, his face still as calm waters.
No doubt the calm on Germaines face was unsettling to some, maybe even scary to others, but a silence had fallen now once David had finished speaking- the festivities had came to halt and the atmosphere was so thick you could cut through it with a butter knife.

Germaine spoke at last in retort.
"Abusing? I am not abusing any power, nor am I flaunting anything; that. That was a display of my agony, a life trapped in another realm for millenia whereupon my only contact with another being is by watching from that world.
The first humans I had ever encountered was when some fool tried to shackle Dialga and Palkia, and unwittingly made me appear instead."

Germaine took one step closer to the pair opposite him.

"These feet were the first part of me in this world since the days before humans existed; you cannot comprehend what I have suffered, and you would be a fool to even so much as make an attempt to!" Germaines voice was filled with malice now, sheer hate garnered over a millennia.

"Truly if I were to abuse my power, this world would never be the same! So..."
Germaine took another step forward and before he could speak his final sentence that blasted Porygon-Z interrupted as it requested to feel a move in order to prove that they were who they were - as if Germaine hadn't already.

Then following this the child struck the Porygon-Z with an air slash stating that he was Rayquaza - it was a millisecond into its Techno-music interval before Germaines temper snapped.
He unleashed a Dragon claw with the full amount of power behind the move into the things chest sending it spiraling out of the way and into a nearby wall.
The human that was Germaine was gone, now it was just a vessel for Giratina to exist in the world he had longed to be in, and he'd be damned if any pile of rock and glorified cloud-hugger would ruin his time here.

Seras’ heart dropped like a stone as Germaines lashed out against the Porygon-Z. Arceus purge it. Why here? Why now?! The surrounding crowd was frozen in terror, caught between the desire to flee and reluctance to break the tension. There are so many ways this can go badly wrong.

She gave the young girl a short, tight squeeze, for herself as much as the child, then laid her gently on the ground and rose to her feet. With a thought and a push of energy, each gemstone in the surrounding area began radiating a brilliant light - the statue, her orbiting gemstones, even the feathers piled on the desk near the avatars - until both the avatars and the space around here were shaded in pink. Illuminated by the dazzling gleam, she quietly strode towards the assembled avatars. No sudden movements. Slow, measured steps.

So many ways this can go horribly wrong.

As she stepped into the line dividing the avatars, she felt her heart skip a beat. The cherry-pink light flickered briefly, but did not fade. Gazing up at Germaines, she swallowed deeply and began to stutter. “You’ve been gone for a long time, and by my word as an avatar, you’ll be back for a long time as well. Let’s do things better than the fools of the past.”

Or the present, she thought darkly. As the adrenaline set into her blood and the chains wrapping around her chest loosened, the words began to flow off her tongue smoothly without passing through any censors.

“As an avatar, you have ample time to settle old scores and ample space to travel the earth - none of us lack for either.” She gestured broadly at the assembled crowd. “But this event isn’t about us - it’s about the people who came here to welcome us. Thousands of strangers who’ve never met us and have no concept of any of our separate lives, but who cared enough regardless to travel across the globe to be here.”

Her tone softened.

“None of us can comprehend your past - that goes without saying. But if you want your future to be any different, then it has to start today, in front of everyone who came to welcome you. We don’t need to comprehend your pain to hate the fact that you’ve suffered.” She offered a feeble smile.

And if the speech didn’t work, then he’ll probably kill me.

With cold sweat pooling down her spine, she turned her back to the looming terror and faced the rest of the avatars, face etched deep with the resigned determination of a woman with nowhere left to run. Her voice was level and stern.

“If this is a matter for avatars, then let us keep it among avatars, where we can freely exchange thoughts that do not reflect our group as a whole. If this is a matter of pride, then we have already have a time and date for combat. But brawling a public space will do nobody good, especially the people who came here to thank you.”

She shot Wells a disgusted glare. Maybe I should have waited until this guy was out cold.

“Or you can pick a fight surrounded by thousands of experienced trainers with families to protect,” she remarked snidely. “Oh, and several trigger-happy avatars as well. Your call there.”

When the Avatars of Rayquaza and Giratina both attacked Porygon-Z consecutively to display their own power not to the Pokémon that was requesting it, but to each other, Kaze started running toward the two, intending to break up the fight. He was beat to the punch only by a second when the Avatar of Diancie stepped between them and began lecturing the others. Specifically, she looked at Germaine to begin with.

“You’ve been gone for a long time, and by my word as an avatar, you’ll be back for a long time as well. Let’s do things better than the fools of the past,” she said with determination. At this point, Kaze joined her, though he was nervous about being flanked by such powerful people, he had stood up to an intimidating Arbok when he was younger and definitely less powerful. Now he had to channel that bravery again. No doubt he was the youngest and least powerful of the Avatars there, he still knew he needed to stop them from killing each other.

“As an avatar, you have ample time to settle old scores and ample space to travel the earth - none of us lack for either.” She gestured broadly at the assembled crowd. “But this event isn’t about us - it’s about the people who came here to welcome us. Thousands of strangers who’ve never met us and have no concept of any of our separate lives, but who cared enough regardless to travel across the globe to be here. None of us can comprehend your past - that goes without saying. But if you want your future to be any different, then it has to start today, in front of everyone who came to welcome you. We don’t need to comprehend your pain to hate the fact that you’ve suffered,” she continued. After a moment of hesitation, she resumed, “If this is a matter for avatars, then let us keep it among avatars, where we can freely exchange thoughts that do not reflect our group as a whole. If this is a matter of pride, then we have already have a time and date for combat. But brawling a public space will do nobody good, especially the people who came here to thank you."

She finished with a daunting statement: “Or you can pick a fight surrounded by thousands of experienced trainers with families to protect. Oh, and several trigger-happy avatars as well. Your call there.”

Now it was Kaze's turn. “She's right; we're supposed to be the Avatars of some of the most powerful creatures on the planet. They entrusted us with their power in hopes that we could properly protect them, and through them, the world. But look at us! We're disgracing the Legends we represent! We're terrifying the people we should be defending! And like Miss Diancie said, they came to celebrate us, and we're scaring them away! Is this what you want? You're ruining not only your own name, but the names of us all, so please . . . ” Kaze's voice wavered and he felt the tears welling up in his eyes, “don't keep fighting like this.” He clenched his fists and bowed his head, the Soothe Bell he wore around his neck jingling lightly. A single tear fell from his face. Now he could only hope the others would hear him, because he suddenly, for the first time, regretted taking up the mantle of an Avatar. But as much as he wanted to run away, he found himself frozen in place, waiting.

Germaine was literally moments away from attacking Wells before someone stepped in - another Avatar that radiated a beautiful rose coloured light and energy, despite how small and fragile she looked- one could tell she was strong, within her own right at the very least.
From memory she was Diancie's avatar, a girl named Seras.

Germaine lowered his hand from what was going to be another Dragon claw, and let her speak.
She said “You’ve been gone for a long time, and by my word as an avatar, you’ll be back for a long time as well. Let’s do things better than the fools of the past.”

To be honest her word as an avatar was worthless, anyone could say different here and he WOULD be here for a long time regardless, and no one could make a difference in that absolute fact.
Not opinion. Fact.
Germaine also took the time to note that another person had walked up to the 5 avatars; person may be the wrong word as its clear that he was an avatar - but he wasn't on the list; there was a pure sort of nature about him, he may be Manaphy or Shaymin, as they were related to the purity of nature, but that was just an observation, he'd find out soon enough.

She then continued on to say “As an avatar, you have ample time to settle old scores and ample space to travel the earth - none of us lack for either.” She gestured broadly at the assembled crowd. “But this event isn’t about us - it’s about the people who came here to welcome us. Thousands of strangers who’ve never met us and have no concept of any of our separate lives, but who cared enough regardless to travel across the globe to be here.”
Her tone softened slightly.
“None of us can comprehend your past - that goes without saying. But if you want your future to be any different, then it has to start today, in front of everyone who came to welcome you. We don’t need to comprehend your pain to hate the fact that you’ve suffered.” She then offered a small smile.
“If this is a matter for avatars, then let us keep it among avatars, where we can freely exchange thoughts that do not reflect our group as a whole. If this is a matter of pride, then we have already have a time and date for combat. But brawling a public space will do nobody good, especially the people who came here to thank you.”

She was right... no one could comprehend what he has endured, but she was also correct in that this was not the time, and since they all had plenty of it it could be handled at another time - to be honest Germaine simply wanted to prove a point to the braggart that was Wells, althoguh he hadn't anticipated the collateral damage he could cause in the process.

She finished with: “Or you can pick a fight surrounded by thousands of experienced trainers with families to protect. Oh, and several trigger-happy avatars as well. Your call there.”

It was then that the new fellow picked up and spoke where the girl had left off.
"She's right; we're supposed to be the Avatars of some of the most powerful creatures on the planet. They entrusted us with their power in hopes that we could properly protect them, and through them, the world. But look at us! We're disgracing the Legends we represent! We're terrifying the people we should be defending! And like Miss Diancie said, they came to celebrate us, and we're scaring them away! Is this what you want? You're ruining not only your own name, but the names of us all, so please . . . ”

He then began to cry - which was unbefitting for a legendary Pokemon.
Was Germaine really the root of all this distress? Surely not... It was a very similar context as to his imprisonment in the first place... Repeating itself almost immediately after his freedom.

He finished with a distressed tone "Don't keep fighting like this...

Germaine stopped for a moment to evaluate the situation.
In short, he was in the wrong here, but as the Diancie stated, this was a new beginning for him, there was little need to repeat past mistakes.
And for the time being, she was right.
He turned to Kirlia who had tears welling up in her eyes. "Heal Porygon-Z please, Kirlia.
This uplifted her mood and after she wiped her eyes she quickly hopped her way to the fainted Pokemon and healed it with her heal pulse, the Porygon got up; dazed and weary but it appeared no real damage had been done; this was confirmed when it floated back over to Germaine and said in its monotone voice.
"Avatar confirmed, please enjoy your day."

Germaine had to admit, it was diligent if little else.

"Come, Kirlia, lets get some lunch and let people resume their festivities. That is, after all, what they are here for."
Kirlia gave a small jump of joy that the situation had been resolved and that he had calmed down.

Before he left the entrance area he turned and bowed to Diance and the other male "My apologies for the distress and trouble that I've caused, I'm still... managing shall we say; to this world.
My thanks for stepping in when you did."

Looking back down to Kirlia he said " How do Rice balls sound? They look delicious on the advertisement."

And the pair left the area in search of the restaurant that served them.

Vuduin sighed slightly less irritated. He still hadn't excused the two idiots but it seemed like they were outnumbered and it had calmed down. Putting them to sleep would've defused the situation rather easily in his opinion besides the moral quabbles. Regardless it seemed at least Germaine had accepted the Diance's convincing though whether or two did remained to be seen. Of course he was doubtful of their ability to harm him or Germaine if the other avatar's abilities were remotely similar to his own. Though saying that would simply hurt their pride. It would've been much better if the Diance hadn't added that quip at the end but luckily Germaine didn't seem to be offended. "Good, I'm leaving to take nap, call me if something needs to happen or something changes." Vuduin said, the last statement aimed at the helpful member off the welcoming committee. Maybe he'd try some food later, but right now he needed to be away from people. So vexing at times. With that he walked between the two aggressive avatars confidently, he'd been tempted to walk through them but that would've been provocative. Then he vanished through a wall and was gone, making his way to the hotel. Vuduin hadn't had a nice bed in a while, it should be nice.

David analysed him as he spoke, genuine emotion and pain behind his words but an expression like a lake at sunrise. Calm without a single ripple. He felt something empathize with the pain, despite himself never having lived a life of being trapped. Something deep within resonate his emotions and to his surprise... he understood. The pain of being sealed away, the pain of being rejected and watching the people who once worshiped you turn and revolt against your king. To spend eternity sealed away, too powerful for the world with his only escape coming with the condition of slavery. Don't. Trust. Humanity.

".... you cannot comprehend what I have suffered, and you would be a fool to even so much as make an attempt to!"Germaines voice had become a torrent of passion and feeling and something inside David was comprehending his hellish prison. The pain of being locked away, what was Germaine doing to him? That voice in his head... had Regirock spoken to him? He zoned out, desperate to hear it again. He needed to understand, he had to know. Why couldn't he trust humans?

Then Wells snapped him out of it was an explosive attack on Porygon, it seemed content with it's power and started to speak towards Germaine. Then it happened. The true power of an Avatar, his arm embodying what it was to have the brutal raw energy of a dragon. The explosive attack sent the drone spiraling. David tightened his fist. Germaine may have had a point, his pain was clear and he had felt the right to use his power how he had seen fit but there was a host of innocent pokemon around. Pokemon that didn't deserve to be harmed. He could hate humanity, but it was unfair for his cruelty to expand to the rest of the pokemon. He had to fight. He felt an energy build within his chest, electrical energy from deep within. Something a human body shouldn't have been able to conjure, but then the diamond girl and a young boy stood up and the words they spoke grounded his head to the ground. He was being rash, Germaine was not an enemy. He shouldn't have made the entrance he did, but he didn't want to bring harm to anyone, not yet at least. If he wanted to hurt people, he had proved that he could.

“As an avatar, you have ample time... ” she remarked. “Oh, and several trigger-happy avatars as well. Your call there.”
"She's right...so please . . . ”

The exchange resonated a lot of emotional energy felt in the audience. The organizers of the event would be freaking out, many people would be nervous or anxious around the avatars now. One thing was for sure, the young boy and the girl where both going to be considered symbols of peace and negotiation between everyone for a little while. They had proven a point, speaking to him calmed him down and his anger and rage seemed to drip from his face, leaving a calmer expression. Germaine, Wells, Vuduin and himself would have fans of a different caliber but those wouldn't be present until the tournament. The festival had been to celebrate the avatars, and the public finally had something real and in-front of them to base their love and affection on.

The tension started to wind down, the Darkrai and Giritina avatars both left the climactic scene without much more fuss and as Germaine left David felt the tension that had built up inside of him rise up and leave. There wasn't something right about what he was, that much was for sure. He wasn't like the other avatars. He at the very least seriously felt the pain swell up from inside his soul. He felt that grief that Giritina felt, or worse the process of the two souls melding had caused him to live the estranged beasts memories. Quiet whispers and murmurs started to build as the plaza returned to it's normal state, people going back to having fun even if they felt a little more on edge then before.

'That could have gone worse'

The little blue tortoise had once again, a docile and laid-back expression plastered on his face. How had he felt the full force and anticipation of the climactic skirmish but the little pokemon still remain as cool as a Cacturne?

"You don't say?" David muttered, his body starting to tremble a little as the effects of the adrenaline wore off. His head wasn't thinking straight, he needed food and a lot of it. "You up for a snack? I need something to get rid of these shakes"

'I'm following you boss, lead the way!'

David stretched himself out a little, and moved to grab a registration pack. The forms turned out to be just quick formalities that didn't take much time, and had all his essential information in no time. As the rock-headed duo started to walk away from the registration center in search of food, he noticed the pink-haired girl from before. Don't. He took a heavy breath, and made his way towards her. It was easy to call others out on mistakes, but doing it himself? That was harder. Trust. If anything, making friends with the other avatars wasn't the worst decision in the world was it? Humanity.

"That was a brave thing to do girl, you have my gratitude and my respect. I was rash, and acted callously. One can get into a habit of attacking first and asking questions later. My name is David Stone, the avatar of Regirock. This is Tirtouga" He spoke with a more friendly tone to his voice, but his words still coming across as serious and carefully selected. There was an underlying awkwardness to him, as if despite the disciplined image he projected of himself he had very little social experience. He thrust out an open hand, offering a handshake as a show of respect rather then formality.

Seras let out a shuddering breath as Germaines departed, heart pounding frantically against her chest. I'm too young to have my life flashing before my eyes. It felt as though she'd run a marathon - worn ragged, high on adrenaline and sore in places that had no right to be aching - but the feeling of triumph was empowering. Reaffirming. Testament to a movement of violence that never came to pass. Is this how trainers feel when competing?

She shook those thoughts loose. That had no right to go so well, but at this point, I'll take a miracle.

As though a storm had passed, the crowd slowly began to mutter among themselves, voices rising and melding into a background hum. Arceus knows what they were talking about. Relief flooding her system, she offered a weary smile towards the remaining avatars and met David's gaze.

"Thank you for your kindness," she said warmly, accepting David's handshake. His grip was strong but restrained, obviously holding both strength and habits in check. "My name is Seras Bancroft, representing Diancie, but just Seras would be preferable."

The formalities left a slightly bitter taste in her mouth - too many hollow words and so little meant - but the evident sincerity behind his words made them heartwarming regardless. Some people just meant what they said. "I'm grateful that you think so highly of me, but I'm sure you that would have protected everyone if Germaines hadn't come around. Bravery means different things for everyone - we both fought to help others in the best way that we could. You have my respect as well."

She turned her attention towards the blue-haired boy, gaze wandering idly to the markings on his shoulders. Even without his support in the recent disaster, it would have been embarrassingly obvious from his appearance that he was an avatar as well. No, she chastised herself. That's a horrible way to think. You should know better. Peeling her gaze from his runes with slight embarrassment, she met his eyes and offered a gentle, heartfelt smile. The boy's tears didn't matter - despite David's strength of character, he wasn't the one who had stood beside her in the eye of the storm. "You helped us enormously as well. If you hadn't stood up for everyone and if Germaines hadn't backed down when he did, then I would have been caught in the middle of everything."

And the only difference between you and me is how we respond to stress.

She offered an open hand to the boy - he deserved to be treated with equal respect as herself, formalities or not.

"Thank you," she said sincerely. "I owe you gratitude for your courage and your help."

When the two darker figures turned away, Kaze found himself relaxing into a slouched posture, letting out a long, ragged sigh of relief. For a moment, he stood there, staring at the ground and trying to calm his tears. The tension was gone now--no need to keep crying. After a few moments they ceased their flow, and he was left with just his shaky breathing. In the meantime, a man of daunting figure spoke to the woman he had run to the side of earlier.

While the two talked, Kaze overheard them mention their names as David Stone--the Avatar of Regirock--and Seras--Diancie's Avatar. Then Seras turned in Kaze's direction. Sniffing quickly, he tried to make himself look more brave, then turned his head up toward her. Just briefly, he noticed she had observed the diamond shapes on his arms before her gaze met his.

"You helped us enormously as well," she commended. "If you hadn't stood up for everyone and if Germaines hadn't backed down when he did, then I would have been caught in the middle of everything." Then she extended a kind hand for him to shake. "Thank you. I owe you gratitude for your courage and your help."

While Kaze didn't trust his voice to properly respond, he did accept the handshake and gave a determined nod. He hoped even if he didn't speak, the look in his eyes would be enough to convey that he was glad to help, even if a little. Then, the least heroic thing happened to him: his stomach growled with a notable echo.

"I should probably find something to eat," he mumbled, not sure if Seras had heard his voice, but there was no doubt she, and likely David, had heard the roar from his innards.

Wells' thoughts were racing, as he still felt pressure after talking to Germaine. Quickly, words stringed themselves into sentences, hopefully proving useful during their next meeting. Wells convinced himself that he never feared Germaine, knowing that the crowd will be far more reassured if they thought he was calm. He decided to let Fluke out of his Pokeball, and the little guy seemed to celebrate in his own way by performing a small dance and surrounding himself in small sparks. It seems like his plan to reassure the crowd proved to be quite a hit. Seeing Fluke happy was ultimately what made him smile again. It was his way of knowing that he was a positive force for someone else. Suddenly, the blue-haired boy growled. Again, it was a beastly, primal growl, the work of instinct. Of hunger.

"We'll need to keep an eye on Germaine in the future. Next time, we might be on our own, and we'll be forced to fight him. If he keeps spreading terror like that, I'd say it would be for the better. Currently, we've been reminded of a far more pressing issue: our own hunger. I'm certain that there will be pleasant surprises waiting in our hotel. Whether it's fine dining or a rich buffet."

Wells looked at the hotel, standing still. He wanted to see who he should follow.

Seras nodded in grudging assent towards Wells. "We might need to fight Germaines if he's actively threatening people, but I'd rather talk him down than escalate the situation through combat. You've already seen how he'll respond to violence," she noted, glancing pointedly towards Porygon-Z, "but he hasn't harmed anyone unless already provoked."

Such as by you, she mused. As much as she'd like to hold that against him, everyone had been utterly terrified by Germaines, herself included. It was hard to blame anyone's response under those sort of circumstances - he'd put himself on the line for the crowd, just in that headache-inducing manner that seemed to come naturally to him. "Let's try not to assume that Germaines is dangerous from here on - just don't press his buttons and be prepared if someone else starts to goad him. He deserves the change for a new beginning." I can comprehend that much about him, at least.

She glanced towards the hotel, painfully aware of the state of her clothes. The upper half of her dress was drenched with sweat after the confrontation - given the option, she wouldn't wait a minute longer before changing into something clean. And her stomach wasn't much inclined towards waiting either. "Food sounds great," she smiled ruefully. "I'll swing by my hotel room, then join all of you for a meal."

Given the day's event, the dinner conversation would probably end with a food fight across the main foyer.

"Ultimately, we don't know who Germaine truly is. He didn't seem to care one bit about the people terrified when he appeared, and I doubt he really cares all that much about us. Finally, someone that really is driven to violence by petty insults like mine certainly seems like someone to fear. I doubt this is a particularly bad day for Germaine. When he has a bad day, I don't doubt that we will too. And I think we should prepare to fight him."

Wells continued waiting, still keeping his eyes fixated on the hotel. He still didn't feel like the center of attention, so he decided to display one of his quirks. It was only a question of time before someone else wanted to talk about it.

The avatars relaxed for a few hours, preparing for tomorrow's jam-packed schedule. There wasn't much of importance going on for the rest of the day. However, there was one scheduled event that might attract their attention: a private dinner at a nice restaurant, hosted by the mayor.

Said mayor arrived at the Ritzy Raichu just in time to make sure everything was in order before the avatars would show up. He had a hard time tearing himself away from all the good food, good friends, and good conversation at the festival. But he wouldn't miss this dinner with the avatars for the world! The portly man nearly bounced in anticipation.

"Is that one of them?" the mayor eagerly asked his guest, peering down the street with his warm brown eyes. "I hope it's Entei. I know it wasn't on the sign-in sheet, but a man can hope, haha."

"We'll find out the answer soon enough," the woman standing next to him replied. Unlike her cohort, this woman sounded calm, almost nonchalant about the event. Her hair, starting to lose the battle between pitch black and silvery gray, was pulled neatly into a bun. The rest of her looked just as polished, from her nice gray suit to her neutral expression. The overall impression she gave off was one of seriousness and coldness, at least in comparison to the exuberant mayor.

A Pokemon waited near the woman. It broke its watchful gaze for a moment to affectionately nuzzle its trainer's arm. The woman showed little response, and Porygon-Z resumed looking for the avatars.

Wells walks towards the restaurant, knowing that the food will taste all the better because he's so hungry and because he waited so long to get it. When he finally takes his first steps inside the door, he is slightly disappointed. It seems like a far too fancy place for him, and fancy places often focus too much on manners and too little on food. When his stomach growled for the first time that day, he reminded himself how powerful a condiment hunger can be. He looked around, not seeing anyone that arrived before him. After a few quick seconds, he decided to wait for everyone else to arrive, right outside.

Germaine has had a rather full day, surprisingly, as he had his lunch a few people had plucked up the courage to speak with him, after a chat with Germaine they began to realise that he wasn't some beast that wanted to devour their souls and eat their children; much to Germaines further surprise a family of 4 wanted a picture with him, Germaine was taken aback but obliged them.
He also added Rice balls to a small pocket book he kept in his breast pocket - a roughly scrawled inscription upon the leather binding shows that this book contains all the foods he loves and hates.
The Love section is notably larger than the hate, as he does actually regard himself as a connoisseur in this world; he does love his food.

After this he, with a now more forgiving Kirlia, walked about checking out the various stalls and sights in the city, there was much on offer for both avatar and tourist alike, ranging from small competitions, story telling, food, shops, artists, Pokemon battles and contests.
The amount here was extensive and the planning for it must have been a severe pain to do.

Before long both Germaine and Kirlia departed from the attractions towards the hotel, where they both rested and let their food settle for a few hours.
That was until Porygon-Z made some sort of an attempt at knocking on his door.
It turned out that a special dinner had been set out for all the avatars at a place called "The Ritzy Raichu" the dress code was smart; Black tie to be precise.
Thankfully Germaine was well equipped for these sort of events; not that he carried them of course, the utility of having Kirlia and her teleport allowed him to travel light; no matter where he went, the distance however does take some time, so Germaine took advantage of this by taking a shower.

An hour later; 20 minutes before dinner commenced, Germaine was in his best tuxedo, he wasn't laden with money but he had a knack for certain things, specifically music and even some capability to choreograph Pokémon contests; Giratina had assumed that this was Germaines actual job before he took over his body, the skill remained but he felt odd when ever he worked.
As if his body was performing familiar actions, yet he had little to no comprehension as to what was going on. (should really have contained this in his bio- my apologies)

Kirlia too was 'dressed' up, she had two crimson bows tied around her 'horns' something she made Germaine buy her or she would keep him awake for three solid days.
Yes. That was her real threat.

It didn't take long before the pair where outside the restaurant, and much to Germaines disappointment someone was waiting outside the doors, and the green hair gave away his identity long before he spoke.
But he was above pettiness, standing opposite Wells; the avatar to Rayquaza Germaine merely asked, in his casual monotone voice.
"Looking forward to dinner?"
