Name: Cassandra Queen (Cass for short)
Persona: Calculus

Appearance:
Cass is about average height, and very pale and gangly. Her posture is not terribly good, and her movements are downright clumsy at times. Her eyes are rarely focused, with her attention generally drifting unless there's a crisis going on.

Her current superhero uniform consists of a pair of dark-tinted chemistry goggles, and a simple white jumpsuit. She sometimes wears a black-dyed lab coat over this, for reasons completely unknown.

Age: 21
Archetype: Genius

Power set:

- Mathematician (2 points): Cass has an insane grasp of mathematics in all its forms. She's a human calculator, capable of juggling thousands of numbers in her head at once, and solving just about any function in an instant. She can also apply this to the real world, using geometry and her knowledge of physics to analyze her situation. For example, when she sees someone pointing a gun, she can predict the exact trajectory of the bullet (though probably wouldn't be fast enough to dodge it), and when she tries to kick someone, she can calculate the precise angle of impact that would result in the greatest amount of force delivered (which helps compensate for her lack of muscle).

Origin Story:

Cassandra's father left her family when she was very young, leaving her living alone with her mentally unstable mother. Though not abusive, her single parent was eccentric, insisting on home-schooling Cass and generally being overprotective, preventing her from getting much experience out in the real world. To Cass, this seemed only natural, and she learned to manage by herself, in the company of only books and dust and empty rooms.

Eventually, her mother's condition worsened, and the woman was locked up in a mental institute, while Cass was passed on to a more ordinary pair of legal guardians. They began sending her to an ordinary high school, and it was there that her talents were revealed.

Nobody knew how long Cass had been a mathematical genius, or where she had gotten such a talent from, since while she was home-schooled there had never been a chance to compare her with her peers. Now, however, it became evident that she was something beyond the ordinary. She shot through the education system, skipping multiple years while earning dozens of scholarships, and was sent to a prestigious university, where she graduated early with perfect marks and a degree in physics. Already, several companies were interested in recruiting her, and Cass's future was looking bright.

She should have done brilliantly in the business world, and become wealthy and powerful as a result. However, she'd been isolated for most of her youth, and had remained a recluse throughout her years of schooling. Her mathematical talents might have been off the charts, but she was socially inept, extremely timid, and completely unable to perform well under pressure. After bouncing from internship to internship for months, she was left abandoned and jobless, with too little money to return to college and too bad a reputation to try and claw her way back into the corporate world.

With few options left, she went job hunting- and somehow managed to pick up a sidekick position, alongside a third-rate hero known as Spearstrike. The pay was decent, and she didn't actually have to do much crimefighting. Her job was mostly managing her hero's accounts, occasionally doing a bit of hacking for him, analyzing feeds from security cameras to determine where criminals might attack, and so on.

Fairly boring work, but it was satisfying enough for Cass, until she got arrested.

She'd only been doing her job, but it turned out she'd been duped. Spearstrike had been posing as a hero for some time, while in fact engaging in some highly illegal activities, and even participating in an armed robbery or two under a false identity. When he was caught, it was revealed that his 'sidekick' had been inadvertently helping him by managing stolen money, hacking into security systems, and analyzing feeds to determine the best angles of attack for him. Cass was taken into custody, and sent to jail for a month as the trials dragged on.

It was a close thing, but the court found her innocent on most of the more severe charges, and Cass was set free. Unfortunately, she now had something of a criminal record, which made job-hunting even harder for the already rather inept young woman.

With few options left and little to lose, she picked up an offer to be part of a team of heroes... hoping, perhaps, that this time she wouldn't fuck it up.
