The difference is that Chiang wouldn't have killed twenty million people in between. Mao was responsible for more than twice as many civilian deaths as Hitler.

Sad thing about Chiang is that he could've united China, but ended up in insanely difficult circumstances between Japanese, Communists and warlords.

I mean during peace time. The civil war was a shitstorm, and everyone involved in it in any leadership capacity could easily be called a war criminal.

The CCP was devoid of communists to begin with. Most people saw them as the best way for China to take its rightful place in the world.
Note that it took two years to abolish communism after Mao died.

It makes you think what would have happened in Benito or Hitler had died during or before WWII.

I think we can all agree that China would be better off if Yuan Shikai tripped and fell into a firing squad.

I can't claim to be an expert on Chinese history as my area of specialty is European history, but I think most people can agree the Great Leap Forward was a failure. If you want to industrialize, Mao, you did it wrong.

Speaking of poetry, Mao was actually a decent poet.

Yea, so who has nukes at this point is pretty irrelevant. We can just assume it's currently only USA and USSR who have them. Also, Cuba player, you need to post soon. I can't really do much until you do since East Germans are kind of obsessed with Cuba right now.

My apologies. This weekend has been hell for me. Eat, sleep, rave, repeat.

Likewise goes for his calligraphy. He actually has his own style of calligraphy that's still used to this day and was considered one of the most talented calligraphers during his lifetime.

WOAH. JONESY YOU JUMPED TO FEBRUARY!!!!!

EDIT: I'll assume that's. Result of the late night posting, haha, but I think that's too much forward movement. I thought we said Jannah was gonna move us into the new month. Besides, everyone else is still in the first two weeks if January

I can probably get a post up today. I may wait for Rare to post first, since there's a bit of France/UK interaction at the moment.

We signed our treaty on Feb. 14th, 1950, because otherwise it'd never stop being January.

I didn't see that. And that's skipping ahead a month when a lot of people still had a shitton of stuff unresolved in early January. We need a Jannah to vote on this.

Does it matter that much? We've got big things planned unless it's moved forward it'll keep going on a snail's pace. We've gone from Jan. 1st to Jan. 10th in five days. >_>
