Name: Kioku. Suoh
Nickname/Alias: スス語- Susu-go
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 180 cms (6'2")
Weight: 97kg (214lbs)
Appearance: Suoh is usually characterized as a tall, slightly pale man of a little more than average athletic build. Standing at a mere six feet, two inches, with a posture that suggests how highly he thinks of himself, and weighing roughly two-hundred and ten pounds. From just one glance he does not appear to be the most intimidating individual, especially due to the ever-present humbled look that seems to be plastered on his face.
Long, Fiery red hair tops Suoh's head, hanging loosely down just above his shoulders. Silky in appearance, the ends of his hair seems to be razored, almost as if it had been longer at one point, but then cut shorter with a rusty blade. Usually he chooses to keep it slicked back, exposing his smooth forehead and his forehead protecter, a few random strands may fall out of place from time to time, which he may brush back into place in order to remain his composed appearance. A small patch of hair around his left temple is absent, due some burns that coursed over his skin. In a matter of facial hair, Suoh has a small, neatly trimmed, triangle shaped goatee which comes to a point just under his bottom lip. His facial hair being nearly the same red hue, maybe just a shade darker, as his hair, he may also be seen with a faint five o'clock shadow.
With high cheek bones, accompanied by a finely chiseled jaw that comes down to a slightly rounded point. His eyebrows are thin and slanted slightly downward toward his nose, the bridge of which is straight-edged shaped leading to a slight point with small, rounded nostrils. Suoh resembles something of an elfish descent, though his small, rounded ears are evidence of the contrary.
What really sets him apart, are his deep-set eyes. Shadowed, with irises that shine a light crimson encased in utter darkness (pure black scleroses), his gaze is enough to bring the weak-minded to their knees. It is also said that one could determine Suoh's opinion of someone just by the way he glanced at them, at least someone who possessed the capable means of understanding such a thing. Almost always preferring to vent any emotion he may have through his eyes rather than a facial expression. Suoh's eyes may be soft and gentle one moment, then stern the next.
In terms of muscle, what you see is what you get. Suoh sports a well toned six pack just below a fine set of pecks that protrude maybe half an inch or so outward from the rest of his body. Three ribs are slightly visible underneath and to the side of each breast. Overall he is a rather skinny individual, which works to his advantage. Suoh's arms are mildly thick with muscle, yet they are still in proportion with the rest of his body. His legs, though hidden under his hakama, are rather muscular as well, contributing to his agile and speed.
Personality: Needless to say, Suoh is rather arrogant and proud; his pride and his arrogance stem mostly from his mind, so formidable and mighty, and his natural abilities. He is smarter than most (personally believing less in ’most’ and more in ’all’, and his successes in life certainly support his views thus far) and with his powers, he can treat his own 'death' with nothing more than contempt, for a situation where he would be in any real threat of dying is virtually unthinkable. Naturally, this leads to Suoh having no fear whatsoever, and why should he? Dying is more an inconvenience than anything else, physical harm is ultimately meaningless, and his allies mean nothing to him. Their loss is at worst an inconvenience, at best a triumph. He has no friends, no need for things like love…and so he has no fear for the safety and lives of others either.
By default, all Ninja are his ‘enemies’ (but if any were willing to become ‘allies’, then Suoh would be the very last who would turn them down – he isn’t about to discriminate in such matters), but they only become true enemies, real annoyances if they actively oppose him personally, actively hinder his nefarious plans. Only for a true enemy will Suoh bring himself to fight seriously; whilst it is true that in almost any fight, Suoh will seek to defeat and preferably kill the opponent in the fastest, most efficient means possible, he would much rather not fight at all. In favourable circumstances, Suoh would only fight those he deems true enemies…in the end, this means that it is a very select few who may ever see the wrath of an angry Suoh. Suoh is otherwise mostly reluctant regarding battles, doing his best to stay away and let others do the work – he is an artist in death, and fighting is the time wasted before the killing. A mastermind of death should set the scene, and eventually let the dominoes drop…but the hard work, the fighting itself, is best left to the pawns. However, if he must, Suoh will not hesitate to enter the battlefield, for the simple truth remains that whilst others might be asked to fight, only he can truly ensure that everything works out for the best.
Generally, Suoh is comfortable in his skin and that comfort radiates as his almost arrogant confidence in his body. If he had it his way, he would just walk around naked when it was warm and humid. Clothes are not necessary to perform most tasks done in a day, and it's actually more comfortable to him. It's common for him to be nude in his own home, even with company over, or to be wearing as little clothing as possible while training or swimming, ect,. Men or woman, the gender does not make much of a difference. It's easy to get Suoh in a flirty mood, but it's still the lazy confidence of a man who is used to getting his way. Rejection doesn't phase him, and if anything makes him strive harder with a trickling determination. It's the only thing he ever does patiently.
But, to the other likeable aspects. Suoh isn’t exactly a man of few words; he enjoys the sound of his own voice, and engages in conversations most often with delight. Even to those he intends to kill, Suoh can be quite charming, and furthermore, although he has not a care in the world for love, the beautiful ladies of the shinobi world are hardly going to be ignored. Of all beings, they are the last on his list of individuals to see dead…for Suoh is not one to completely abandon more human pleasures. Suoh also enjoys a few indulgences; the man is rather fond of wine and a few select foods from the average human When relaxing, Suoh might also be found reading, or perhaps even walking around the village, peaceful, calm…and so very unlike his fellow Sunagakure shinobi. Alternatively, he spends his time repairing his many puppets in his home.
In most cases, Suoh is a polite, and very kind person. He may seem arrogant in his words and quite self-centered, but many assume that's just the influence of youth. In fact, he is very giving and just self-confident : he does tend to have a little bit of Tsundere in him. He's very charming, loving to smile at women and making friends with them, and helping those in trouble. He seems relatively harmless and loyal to his friends, but when angry, will and can beat the living shit out of you. He tends to dislike violence, unless aggravated and annoyed. He has a fondness for coffee and seems to not have any ability in household chores. Ever. Minus cleaning. He likes cleaning. And clean spaces equal a happy Suho. He's a bit OCD like that : liking things organized, proper and very well, clean. He does have the tendacy to throw things, when irritated and blushes when complimented by someone he likes. After all, it's a pain to go through his sarcastic comments and treatment in order to become in that friendzone : but once there, it's worth it.
Souh is rather ruthless. If his friends are in danger, or himself or his beliefs are wronged, then there is no safe place to hide. While most of the time he seems rather lazy and unmotivated, it takes only a small ounce of his passion to spark for a raging inferno to ignite his determination. In most of the above possible cases, he is not afraid to end the life of another human being or creature if it will satisfy the need for either protection or justice that drives him. It's almost a scary type of bloody lust that pushes forward in these times that Suoh himself does not always understand, yet does not attempt to fight it when it works in his favor. His style is a series of switching between defense, dodging, and fast paced attacks that strike high and hard in the vital areas; The face, chest, and joints. He won't hesitate to snap a bone or pull and enemy to the ground before dispatching them in their moment of weakness. Those who are normally strong and then become weak are less then those born weak, and deserve no mercy in his eyes. It's just the way the man thinks, and that will never change about him. If he had to call himself good or evil, it would take him weeks to justify either one with a good explanation.
Rank: S-Ranked Jounin
Village: Sunagakure
Chakra Nature: Wind
Specialty: Close-Combat Puppetry
Fighting Style: Suoh, a skilled puppeteer, is ambidextrous as well as able to completely multi-task. This has lead to his fighting style of dual Taijutsu-Puppetry. When in battle, he will use every limb against his opponent, one-handed puppetry with one hand while blocking with the other, or using dual-hand puppetry while kicking and headbutting. Unfortunately, his constant motion of his legs causes him to be unbalanced as well as fatiguing him, and Suoh could trip or lose concentration quickly.
History: Suoh’s story starts with one man, a man named Uzumaki Maka. Years before Suoh’s birth, Maka was a Jounin of Takigakure, and indeed one of their finest. He was known for his immense skill and the undying love and loyalty he harbored for his village and his comrades. But what made Maka so well-known among his peers was that he was the first cousin of Takigakures’s Takikage. Though not as skilled or powerful (or famous) as his relative, Maka was still nonetheless quite a formidable man.
The man had a friendly rivalry with one of his former Genin teammates, a female Jounin by the name of Uzumaki Heero . These two were constantly competing against each other, ever since their first training session back when they were Genin. They had saved each other’s lives a number of times, had been there for each other through thick and thin, and so on. It was therefore no surprise that they ended up falling in love with each other, though admittedly it took them quite a while to realize it. When word spread that the two of them were engaged, there was a great deal of approved nodding among the older folk. You couldn’t find a more perfect match, they would say. And indeed they were correct. Both Maka and Heero shared a multitude of interests and personality traits, the most significant being the affection they had for their village and its people.
Finally, after months of waiting, Maka and Heero married. The entire village was happy for them, and wished them a happy life together. The newlyweds eventually decided to leave the village and move into the countryside, where they wished to spend their lives in peace and raise a family. Though many were saddened and distraught to see two of Takigakure’s finest leaving the village and its ranks, cheers and congratulations were still fresh in the air.
So, the day came when Maka and Heero left the village and settled into a small cottage just outside a small village. Maka managed to find himself a satisfactory job in no time, and Heero spent her days mingling with others and enjoying all life had to offer. They were as happy as could be; a cynical man would have stated that tragedy was probably dying to strike them, but nothing happened in the couple’s life that was remotely like that.
It was a few months after they had moved into their new home when Maka came home to great news. Heero excitedly told him that she was pregnant. Maka was delighted to hear this, and it was not long when they were telling their friends and relatives that they were expecting. From then, on the days went by in anticipation and excitement as they planned and fantasized about being parents.
However, the happiness did not maintain its colossal magnitude. War had erupted in Takigakure, and it had claimed the life of Maka’s entire family. Hearing this news, Maka was horrorstruck and hurried back to his village as soon as he heard the news. He returned from his trip a slightly different man, the loss of his precious family and the thought of not having been there to help his beloved village having wounded his soul. He found comfort in Heero, who did her best to cheer him. Maka did seem to feel better after awhile, thanking his wife for being there for him. Knowing that he was about to become a father, Maka was aware that it would not be good for his soon-to-be expanded family if he spent his days sulking and mourning. Realizing this, he returned to his normal self, much to Heero’s relief. But she sensed that something in her husband had changed; something she couldn’t quite put her finger on. She did not know at the time just how accurate her intuition was.
The days passed by, life seemed to be returning to normal, but there was something different in the atmosphere now. Maka was not behaving like his usual perky self; he was at times rather distant and brooding, as if his mind was somewhere else. He started leaving the house for noticeably long periods of time, hanging out with queer people, spending hours alone in his study. Heero wondered what was wrong with him, and was starting to worry that Maka might be involving himself with a bad crowd.
At long last, the fated day arrived. Heero lay in the hospital ward, holding in her arms a small baby boy, with Maka beside her. At first glance, the child seemed to belong to them; he bad Heero’s red crimson hair and green eyes. Heero remarked that she hoped their son would grow up to be a handsome man. Maka agreed with a nod, smiling down at his new son. They named the child Uzumaki Suoh.
Now that he was a father, a part of Heero hoped that Maka would return to his regular self. To her immense relief, he did just that, reverting to his playful and joyous nature, playing and loving his child. The sight pleased Heero, for she was glad that the Maka she knew and loved was back. The days passed by pleasantly and life just seemed perfectly beautiful.
It is here much of Suoh’s past is jaded, no one knowing the true history of his first years of life. However, it is known that Suoh was placed in the care of a small village’s orphanage by an unknown Takigakure shinobi.
Suoh grew up without any information regarding his parents. The orphanage he lived in was not, strictly speaking, the best in the business. The village he lived in was small, poor, and not well-developed, littered with large families that barely had enough money to feed themselves. His orphanage was small yet packed with more children then it could handle. The children there lived in sub-standard conditions, receiving a great deal of neglect from the staff due to their number. Since the village was not well-known and most of the families had more members than they could handle, not many adoptions occurred; thus, it was common to see children as old as fifteen living in the orphanage, assuming they hadn’t been kicked out yet or run away.
Growing up in a rough, neglected environment like he did, Suoh was not really the happiest child you could run into. There wasn’t anyone to teach him about good ethics, though that’s not to say he was a delinquent. While Suoh did have a rather bad habit of getting into trouble, he never did anything severe. Of course, he had his good qualities, but he didn’t really have anyone to help that part of him grow.
Being an orphan did not bother Suoh as much as it did most people. Sure, he had no idea who his parents where or why they had abandoned him, but to him the word “parent” was just another word. As he never received any of the love and affection that every child needs as they grow, he did not fully understand the importance of having a family, or indeed any form of relation. Even his friends (though the word “acquaintances” might be a better term) were not that close to him, though this was mostly because they found him to be a rather odd character.
And odd he was. For one thing, Suoh never showed himself whenever anyone would come to adopt a child, nor did he spend his time with boys of his age group. He would often wander aimlessly through the village and the surrounding areas by himself, taking in the beauty of the world around him. He hated the orphanage he lived in, his gut turning every time he returned to it or looked at it. And it was not just the orphanage. He disliked most of the people around him as well, not because he thought they were idiots or that he was better than them, but because he knew they all disliked him as well. The adults would often say to each other about how the boy gave off an odd feeling to others; as if there was something not quite right about him. As a result of this treatment, he was rather quiet and cold around others, snubbing them rudely or simply ignoring them.
What with the bad impression he gave to others, it was no wonder that Suoh remained in the orphanage for almost ten years. During those ten years, all Suoh could wish for was some way to leave it. If he had given the people who wished to adopt him a chance, he may have gotten his wish earlier. The idea of a parent did not seem appealing to him, however, so it was unlikely that he would be leaving through adoption. Even so, Suoh did get his wish to leave the orphanage.
It was a day like any other day. More accurately, it was just before sunset. Yet this day was forever etched in Suoh’s mind. At the time, Suoh was sitting on a tree branch in the park when he heard a loud explosion sound behind him, followed by screams of pain and fear. Looking behind him, Suoh saw a horde of men dressed completely in black running through the village, knocking down doors, setting buildings on fire, massacring people left and right. The bandits ransacked the town, killing anyone they could. Every building was burnt or knocked down to the ground. As Suoh ran through the burning village and the bloodshed, he could see the people he had spent so many years with falling before his very eyes. The terrified boy ran as fast as he could from the carnage, wanting nothing more than to live.
He ran and ran, ran for longer than he had ever run in his entire life, longer than he thought he could, until he finally collapsed inside an empty cave. Here, the boy rested, frightened and alone, wondering what he was going to do now. He stayed in the cave for a few hours, emerging when he began to feel hungry. He found some fruit and a river, and once he had satisfied his hunger, he set out in a random direction, hoping to come across some form of civilization soon. He had no plan, but he figured it would be better to go look for something rather than wait for it.
Suoh walked for hours and hours, climbing over fallen logs and going around streams and rivers until he reached a vast, barren desert. He had been travelling for nearly two hours when he came across an open road that led to a fork. Reading the sign at the junction to try and figure out where he was or where he was going, Suoh picked one of the forks at random and followed it. His decision brought him to another village, and as soon as he saw it, Suoh knew that this was a much more developed place than where he had grown up.
Entering the village, Suoh began looking for some form sustenance. Being only ten, he had no money in his possession, and he wasn’t exactly skilled enough to earn a living. He therefore had to resort to stealing to live, which did not really go too well with the people he stole from. And so, Suoh’s bad reputation seemed to persist, and he ended up living on the streets, stealing and struggling to survive. Again, it was not as bad for as it might have been for others. As he had barely had any proper comforts in the orphanage, his current lifestyle, while in no way an improvement, was nonetheless bearable. Of course, that didn’t mean Suoh would refuse an act of kindness from anyone.
However, once he had got caught, a shinobi took him to the orphanage of Sunagakure. There, he felt just like he did at the old orphanage, bored, and alone.
By now, Suoh had grown a good deal since he had fled from the bandits. Not just in body, but in mind as well. He was more mature than people his age and much tougher due to his rough lifestyle. When it came to ambitions or plans for the future, Suoh did not really have any plan. Not for lack of trying or laziness, but because he had no one to guide him to point him in the right direction. He didn’t want to live his entire life the way he was currently living it. Therefore, he was willing to take any chance to change his future that would come his way. And come it did.
During one of his visits to the slums of Sunagakure, Suoh was mugged by a gang of older teens. Unfortunately for them, Suoh did not have anything useful to steal, so to make up for his not yielding anything of value, the boys proceeded to beat him up. Being much smaller and weaker than the boys, Suoh could not stand up for himself properly, and was severely pummeled. Lying on the ground, bruised and beaten with the boys kicking and mocking him, Suoh felt completely helpless.
It was then that the boys’ activity was interrupted. An old, hunched up man had stepped up to them, asking them to cease beating Suoh. Laughing, the boys advanced towards the man, ready to attack. The first blow they landed was countered effortlessly by the man, much to everyone’s surprise. With a swing of his hand, the man sent a gush of wind at the boys, knocking them off their feet and into a dumpster. Frightened, the boys climbed out of the dumpster and ran for it.
The old man then walked over to Suoh and helped him up. Placing his hand over the injured boy’s wounds, the man healed them immediately using his chakra. Once Suoh was back to full health, he thanked the man, asking him how he had done such things. Smiling, the man took Suoh to a restaurant and bought him something to eat while he explained everything. Jiro(for that was the man’s name) told Suoh about Ninja, Chakra, Ninjutsu, and many other things. Suoh listened in awe to everything the man said. He had seen ninja before, but he had never thought much of them. To him they were just another group of people. But listening to Jiro’s explanation made Suoh realize that there was more to being a ninja than he had first thought.
Once Jiro was done with his explanation, he asked Suoh to tell him about his life. As Suoh summarized his past in a few sentences, Jiro listened with a sympathetic and pitying face. When Suoh was finished with his narrative, the old man asked the boy if he wished to learn about being ninja, if he wanted to do something useful with his life. The offer surprised Suoh, and after a few minutes of silent thinking, he agreed. With that, Jiro took Suoh under his wing and began training him to be a ninja.
From then on, Suoh’s life became more difficult. He realized for the first time that he had an actual goal now, and it felt good. He worked hard with his new teacher whose name he was told was Jiro. He tried his best to master everything he was taught. Jiro was pleased to see that Suoh was quite sharp and talented, able to adapt to this sudden change in his life quite well. Knowing that he had to start from the basics, Jiro was patient and considerate with the boy, giving confidence and making sure he did lose his resolve. It soon came to the point that Suoh began regarding Jiro as a friend, someone he could actually turn to. For the first time in years, Suoh finally felt like he was happy with his life.
he years passed, and soon Suoh had learned a good deal about being a ninja. His travels with Jiro had helped his growth greatly, granting him even more experience. Jiro was not only helping Suoh become a better ninja, but he was even helping him become a better person. Good manners, the difference between right and wrong, politeness, all those things which a parent ought to teach their child. Suoh wondered often if this was what it felt like to have a parent or at the very least a sibling.
Soon, the time came when Suoh’s training with Jiro had come to an end; and not a moment too soon. As Suoh knew all too well, Jiro was a very old man who, despite his great strength, was nearing the end of his life. Soon, Jiro would be gone, and Suoh would be all by himself. Now, the old man told him, it was all up to Suoh. How he lived his life, how he trained, what he did, it was all Suoh’s choice now. Ever grateful Suoh thanked Jiro, staying by the man’s side until he died.
Shortly before his 13th birthday, Suoh was promoted to Chuunin after passing an exam set by the village. Now able to do harder B-rank missions, Suoh began to lead small teams of Genin for the first time in his life. Always switching subordinates, Suoh retained a rather solitary life.
On a mission to the border of Kiri, Suoh was attacked by a Missing-nin, one very proficient in the use of Katon. Overpowered by the ninja's ability to defeat his puppets, Ekirei began to slowly lose the battle. Taking kicks and burns around his body, Ekirei was nearly unable to defend himself. However, after the ninja launched a fireball from his mouth, Ekirei retaliated with a gust of Nagare, a jutsu he was barely competent with. Being in very close range of the enemy, the stream collided with the fireball very quickly. When the two met, the fireball grew in great size, stopped by the manuever and blanketing the area. The Missing-nin was incinerated instantly, while Suoh was thrown hundreds of feet by the shockwave. Unconcious, he breathed in large amounts of smoke, damaging his throat and lungs.
Rescued by a passing patrol of Kiri-nin, Suoh's burns were able to be treated very easily. The Missing-nin, who Suoj had inadvertently killed, was a very important person in the bingo book, responsible for the destruction of miles of crops in an attempt to get Kiri to rely on Konoha further for food. Returned safely to Suna, Suoh received a meritorious promotion for his willingness to sacrifice himself and the killing of the ninja, which warranted him a large amount of money.
