PS: The 'warrior' and 'boy' comment wasn't referencing you. It was referencing that one doesn't need ridiculous powers to kill something. For all of that shit, I saw nothing that works as well as a good ol' sword to the face.

I have a lot of powerful characters, but I read the rules and made sure that mine were on tier with the rest of the fighters here. Jett is actually a pretty powerful guy by most standards, and he's pretty creatively made. I don't understand the assumption of "street fighter" when he has shadow manipulation and telekinesis. You're making these jaded statements like you own the place. If people want to fight with lower powered characters, why can't you let them? Why do you have to put them down just because yours are seemingly more powerful? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a particularly diverse site like this?

You chose to come here. You chose to put your sheet up, and it seems to me based on your posts that you knew for a fact that there would be a bad reaction from the people here. I don't understand the hostility.

@Gun I had assumed that you were not participating in this tournament to avoid a conflict of interest. My invitation was for a fight on the side, apart from a competition that may or may not see us meet in the end.

@Vordak and @Divinity are more than welcome to join though given that they're in the tournament things might get a bit redundant if we're paired together. Heck if @DLL hasn't ruffled your feathers too much we could turn this thing into a team battle.

Either way; playful mudslinging aside I'm looking for some action.

I suggest you add a description of the magnitude of damage your attacks can deal (are they as powerful as a .50 BMG, or more like a artillery shell? How damaging exactly would Wit's End be against one's soul? and ect.), as well as travel speed for the projectiles.

it may be a bit of a wait though, what with me running this tourney.

I follow Enki's logic when it comes to being vague. And, much like him, I also don't look too much into someones profile for a fight. It all goes toward preventing metagaming on all fronts. Also, any word on my profile Gun?

@Shawdus as Enki mentioned, the rest of those yayhoos put me up to splashing Cee because they were all "...huh? o_@" when Enki got rejected, as Enki was specifically built to be a lower-end character that has to grow into his abilities. So they wanted to show folks what usually goes for "2 stronk" in this little circle. That and they simply like the work that went into her dossier. Yeah, it backfired, but what can you do? For the record: yes, I always knew Cee would get tossed, Entropic Order or no. I was hoping there would be more "Lolwut" and less "f'kin scrub" in the process, however.

By 'Street Fighter', I didn't mean completely-dispowered idiocy. I think of Street Fighter as "guys with Hadoukens"; mostly average-guy fighters with a trick or two, but who generally end up falling back on what is apparently termed "Realistic Melee" around here because Realistic Melee seems to be overwhelmingly the preferred game type, and because they don't have the array of abilities they need to otherwise find holes in their opponents' defenses.

@Gun I did not say 'dispowered' rifleman. I said rifleman with no offensive abilities. Was going to rig up a low-level character with enhanced senses and mental agility, because everyone I have ever met outside my own guys there assumes that someone who fights primarily with a gun/guns is a lawlscrub who has no idea what he's doing and is using firepower to compensate for his inability to think. Which, ironically enough, is exactly what you and @Vordak think of me right now! However, I have spent the last fifteen years of my roleplaying existence refining my gunplay, both conventional and gun mage-style, like Cee. Where everyone else was working with Dragon Ball and Rurouni Kenshin and everything-else as their foundational style back in the day, I was working off of Trigun. I've put all the effort a master swordsman or a blackbelt fistfighter puts into their melee combat into being an expert marksman and firearm specialist. I am, in other words, The Team Sniper.

I will match my DMR against any amount of Hadouken you or anyone else wants to throw at me. I may not win, especially since I'm, y'know, banned 4 lyfe, but I guarantee you wouldn't be leaving the ring without bullet wounds.

@DLLDude.... Literally EVERY PC I have uses guns. Especially railguns. Like you, I've dedicated most of my time to my preferred crafts - swords and guns- Im not even really from here, and when I first got here I got hazed just like you. I, Skallagrim, and LeeRoy are your boys for PC combat.

None of this is even close to RM, actually. I know several and have fought several fighters here, including Divinity, Shawdus, Ki, and and Blunderbuss(who is my wife). I've seen them all go whole fights without ever even getting close. I've seen the characters in here blow up entire islands before. A sheet is not representative of every single thing a character is capable of. I HATE RM. I just wanted to change the pace from all my PC fights.

There is no such thing as a bad style, only a bad practitioner.

You guys need to learn from that, in the regard of comparing yourself to others and ego.

While I might come off as condescending- I hope I don't but, regardless -the point of this tournament is to not bring in highly-powered characters. You're supposed to come into this tournament with something that isn't incredibly powerful, so you have to rely on tactics more and your own know-how.

Moderate/Medium Powers is what MP stands for, guys! Please respect the rules and for God's sake, read them.

We're adults here... I hope. We don't need to bicker about who has the largest penis, or what size of penis is big enough to be in the tournament, or why someone's penis isn't big enough.

The rules are clearly laid-out in the very first post, and you should follow by the examples laid-out by accepted character sheets. Pick a character that you believe fall into the ball-park, instead of being out-of-the-park.

I made Re specifically for this tournament, because normally I make either high or minimally-powered characters. The reason why I entered is because I wanted a taste of the middle spectrum, and your incessant, monotonous bickering is doing nothing but postponing the experience for other players.

If you have a genuine problem with the tournament's workings, or with the fact that you can't have a lot of power, don't be in the tournament. It's as simple as that, guys.

If you don't want to be in the tournament, don't be- this is an event designed to let people have fun, not bicker with one another.

I guess I can respect that they put you up to it (I've done stuff like that, too), but I think the hostility that followed was justified based on the fact that you figured there would be some sort of reaction, good or not. Also, just to let you know, Jett (my character) barely ever relies on melee. His powers are used specifically for the reason that I don't particularly like just melee fights; Something that I think you feel as well?

For the record, I haven't even read your sheet. I'm just telling you what I see from an outsider's perspective. I'm just saying that a lot of these people do make powered characters, they just choose not to use them. Although, based on their responses, I'm sure that you can gather that much.

EDIT: Both of my experiences with this site (the former being one with Seed that eventually lead to the entire thing falling apart, the latter now here) have lead to something like this happening. Can we all just agree to be civil with each other, and if we actually want to be here, then be here?
