Glad to hear you're excited. I'll hopefully have the OOC up by tomorrow evening, or Wednesday afternoon at latest.
For now, I've decided on the possible starter aircraft. You can choose from one of the following;
-F-5E Tiger II Fighter
-F-4E Phantom II Multirole-Fighter
-MiG-21bis Fishbed Fighter
-J35J Draken Fighter
-F-1 Kaizen Attacker
-A-4 Skyhawk Attacker
-Mirage IIING Fighter

Given that AC5 is pretty much the game that got me into Combat Flight Sims and AC6 was more or less why I brought an Xbox...

But even in the real world, it's not going back in time. Many countries, particularly Third World countries, still use the F-5s and MiG-21s because it's cheap. Even Germany still have a handful of F-4s in their inventory.

Sure, although from a developed, first-world outlook, most of the aforementioned crafts are dated and no longer mainstay choices. By "back in time," I was referring to when they were used in their prime.

I mean they're just starter aircraft. I'm sure eventually we'll get to pick a 5th-generation fighter of our choosing. I'm assuming the premise will be those were just the spare planes available. My character will probably take the F-1 Kaizen. I've been slowly crafting my character's history, which starts in Erusea. My only point of confusion is are we going to be in different squadrons or all in one?

Surprised you didn't let me know about this. I know I said I was only after two RP's, but anything with fighter jets is something I'm eager to take part in. And I was thinking of running something myself.

Personally, I'm not sure which airframe to pick, although I think the Mirage 2000 might be a better fit than the IIING. Since AH established it as a starter-tier aircraft.

I've gone for an F-4 - Good at most roles, easily capable of being upgraded to carry more modern weapons, and can be used both on a carrier and on land. I also picked it because I had the idea of playing a Marine Corps pilot, and it was an aircraft the USMC used, which means it fits in with the idea for the AC setting as well.

I was tempted by the F-5 or the Skyhawk, but I've used those in other RP's, and wanted to get my hands on a 'toom for a while.
That's all assuming Rafale is okay for me to join in the first place though >.<

The Mirage is a good choice either way - it's fast, agile, looks nice and has a good complement of multi-role munitions. And again, if you decide to/get the choice to stick with Mirage variants, there's plenty of other more modern ones to look toward.

EDIT: By the way, your signature is hypnotic, and hilarious xD

They're both good choices. Have you picked a nation yet? That might help you decide. If it's a more Euro-influenced nation, then the Mirage could work better. Also, what background is your character from, that could help too. The Phantom was used as a Navy fighter, whereas the Mirage wasn't. That might help tip the decision? Just trying to offer some helpful ideas :)
