Aright so time to add the dice rolling and see how this works. Dice only affects the outcome of jobs being whether we succeed or not, or get good loot or nothing at all, getting to the point and everything in between is up to us so long as it stays with that outcome. Only reason why I'm doing this is so we mix it up. Each member on the job earns a stat point increasing our chance for a better outcome.
Oh shit we got a 23, thats the best roll we can get. No monster detects us unless we want them to, and each person gets a rare item if they choose to forage. No one gets injured...yet.

Expecting a strong grip was one thing yet Reema found herself dragged across the table as though a Ludroth had thought her a toy, breath taken from her for only a moment she ended up giving a deep rumbled bit of laughter, tossing her head causing her mane to swish about her form. "I will indeed enjoy working with you."

Next day, guild front

Reema awake to the same smell of sea breeze, dressed in a pair of leather pants and a loose shirt she began to strap on her steel plated Armour, the cries of her blades waking her even more as she strapped them to the back of her waist, her mane tied snugly to her skull using a leather band. Strapping a few pouches to her waist she began to count everything, making sure nothing was amiss before she headed out to the morning air.
The town held layer of fog, wispy smoke obscuring one's view. If things were like this in the woods she would have to take note of when and where for future hunts. "Hey! Miss Huntress!" Looking over her shoulder, arms crossed Reema raised a brow as one of the residents came to greet her. "Ever been to Moga woods?"
Shaking her head Reema began to grow interest at the mention of her and her team mates destination. "No, me and the others were scouting for that vary reason actually."
A smile on his features he handed her a pascal bound in leather, untying the string she was surprised to find a map lay in her hands, one of detailed features and in grand condition. "Oh no, I can't take this, it must have taken you years to perfect it." Yet all he done was shake his head, "I didn't the hunter before you three did. Told us you guys might be needing it."

Disbelief in her mind she looked back to the map, this was going to save her life one day she could feel it. "Thank you, I truly don't know what else to say."

"So long as you three keep this village running with the rest of us than you don't have to say a thing."

Left alone once more Reema found excitement burning in her belly. What were they going to find? The male told her about a camp that was made just for them on longer hunts, she couldn't wait, already she was looking back at the guild, the misty air that clung to her skin not bothering her in the least due to her mountain home. All she wanted was to go, and to go now.

"What are you waiting for?" echoed the deep voice of Roland from behind the mist. It has already been around an hour since he awakened, old behaviors from his life as a farm boy, hard to get past by even thou he started this new life.

Be stood up with the first rays of light fighting the dim, clamp and wet mist.
He washed himself with a spoonge and cold water. Then he armoured himself in his trusty Jaggi armour. The set was complete but Roland decided to leave the helmet, it restricted his vision and the weather was mild enough to set such a protection aside. Pouches came next! One with tinder and firestones, one with a grindstone, one with firepowder for his gunlance, one filled with vitalising herbs and the last one filled with tasty, salty dried meat. Last came the water pouch and a small bagpack. He attached his small mining pike and his gutting knives to the bagpack, levering the weight, well this happened around 1 houre before Reema woke up.

Now he waited in the mist and moved the moment she finished the talk with the villager.
He awaited awaited a reply and jumped up and down a bit, he was worried that the humid air would damage the armour but luckily it didn't. The scales fit perfectly and slided into each other like the tooth in a Velociprey jaw. Jaggi scales are flexible but sturdy and offered a good protection and maneuverability for beginners, most people tend then to wear them additionally with steel plates but Roland preferred heavy leather. The scales are sewed perfectly onto the fatty leather garb and so reduced the sound of the armour to a minimum which was important for the hunt.

It was all set and he was ready to hunt!

Looking over to find Roland making his way to the misty veils Reema nodded her head in greeting, the map still in her hands the woman began to sit, laying out the treasure across her lap so she could study it. "Well I'm waiting for you two, not right to leave a brother behind when none of us been in the hunting grounds." Mentioning him over she offered the male to take a look as well. "Seems theres caves, woods and it breaks off into the ocean, they even remade the camp ground for us."

Looking up in thought Reema rummaged through what she read the morning before, the leather book of hunt reports still laying in her room under the covers. "Place is actually a great breeding ground to a large variety, flying, aquatic, reptilian..Gonna be a great place to start out since we won't have to travel to keep this place going."

Honestly she couldn't wait, a bit more than half tempted to wake the sleeping giant in the guild, the woman found herself having to hold her tounge to keep from doing so. Instead she stood, heading to the centre, "I'll be back, just gonna see if there’s in requests." Right next to the forge Reema found herself warmed to the core as she looked over the board, some residents too frightened to speak with the hunters yet left their own requests in neat hand writing. Taking them down since they were the only ones able to do the job she went back to her companion.
"Lets see here, a farm wants us to take care of some jaggi that were ruining their crops, woman needs some honey for a celebration, and there is a kid here wondering if he can have any bones we find."

"So I'm the last to arrive, eh? Sorry for the wait my friends, found a rusted patch on my armor and couldn't bring myself to leave until it was gone!" Jacque stated upon finally coming into view, adding with his statement a hearty laugh as he plodded towards Reema and Ronald in his armor. Though a coat of mist cover the land Jacque's armor still managed to give off a luminous shine whenever the stray beam of sunlight caught the right patch. The massive sword on his back rattled lightly with each step, it's massive tooth like spines creating an interesting keening/squawking sort of sound as they occasionally rubbed against armor, not unlike the vocalizations of the creatures both the weapon and armor were made from.

The excitement was visible on Jacque's face as he came to a stop and placed his hands on his hips. It being his first time hunting with someone else gave Jacque high hopes for the day, both in terms of learning and coming across something good to bring back. As this was mean to be a simple scouting jaunt, his load out was light; a whetstone and two dried herbs that he'd brought from overseas. He lamented the fact that he was unaware that the felyne cook offered the first meal for free, as he would have simply waited until the morning came to purchase a steak rather than the fish he'd eaten yesterday. Such was the way things were, Jacque supposed. "SO!" He all but barked with glee, "Are we ready to set off then?".

Seeing the shine in the armour caused the woman to raise a brow, least he took care of it."Well at least most beasts will be attracted to you than us." A knowing smirk on her face she held out the jobs. "Guess we can take care of a few things while we're out." Looking them over she began to move. "Well time waits for no one, lets go."

------
Crossing over the wooden bridge, each step creaking under their weight Reema began to see the changes, crossing from sea to land. The mist growing thinner and thinner she could clearly see the sun rising over the horizon, the sky was blue, the mountains wide and the grass lush and green. It was a beautiful place, free and open.
She could see a heard of Kelbi, graceful leaps they passed the hunters by with little to no fear. A path way opening for them she thought to descend down, an open field showing before them with various trails leading to the perfect places. "Not a whole lot of hiding places, but can you imagine challenging a rythalos here?"
A group of wild Aptonoth were grazing a little ways away. It must have been breeding season, a few younger of the creatures followed close to their mothers under the watchful eye of a large male. Pulling out the map she looked through only to remember the two with her. "Aright, where should we go first? The sea, or the caves?"

Though it may have been a joke at his expense Jacque took pride in Reema's remark regarding how his appearance might have served to draw the attention of beasts. The armor he wore was one that he himself had painstakingly collected the components for, and as such, he tended to it just as much as he did his weapon. As the trio moved farther and farther away from the world of man Jacque became a little less animated, making very little sound save for the occasional sigh of contentment or the odd sniff to see what scents the breeze carried with it. This was true bliss for the hunter. He may have relished the feeling of being in a village, but absolutely nothing could compare with being in the wild: The open space, the variable scents and sounds, and the view of the beasts as the roamed free, it all resonated with Jacque in ways he could never describe in words.

The thought of fighting a Rathalos out here, however, was very easy for Jacque to describe, "It'd certainly be a difficult battle. Plenty of open sky for the king to take flight for an advantage. No dense forest would mean that it'd have no issue making split second movements by land or air either. Winning a fight like that out here would certainly be something to remember. Still, the sky kings aren't what I would be most worried about meeting out here.". Jacque gestured to the grazing herd of Aptonoth, briefly chuckling as he watched a few of the older infants play in between the bodies of their elders, "I'd more so be worried about running across a Deviljho. The ravenous beasts are highly nomadic since their extreme metabolism forces them to devour anything that can't run away quick enough. A herd like this? Full of younglings? Easy pickings.". To Jacque all monsters were sacred, but there were only a few that he truly feared. The deviljho was one such monster- a hyper predator that dethroned and devoured nearly anything that stood in its path.

He felt a chill go up his spine at the thought of running across the creature out here with him so unprepared for true combat. Jacque forced himself to brush aside his fear as he considered where he believed the trio's next move would be. The sea was definitely a place he wanted to visit soon, it showed it his eyes as he peeked over Reema's shoulder and they lingered on the patch on the map. He wanted to see if he could find his true quarry, but not yet. He was still too inexperienced, not to mention woefully under equipped. If he was to visit the sea it was to be done with a hunt in mind. "I say we go to the caves for now." He reached over Reema's shoulder and tapped the spot on the map with a nod, braids bouncing with the action, "Might be a good place to dig up some mushrooms for later. I may not be familiar with the lay of the land here but unless i'm wrong, mushrooms like to grow where there is little light, yes?".

Reema was actually surprised at the explanation, keeping quiet until Jacque finished. Her own mind going through the scenarios for each and every word. "Must say I am impressed, but if we decided to fight one under cover of something like brush than he or she would simply light us along with the foliage ablaze, my last hunting partner had something along those lines happen to him. Guess we would just have to pick the handicap unless there is an opening for lures in the caverns."

A shiver ran down her spine at the mention of such a ravenous monster though. There were some beasts that she would never face alone and the Deviljho was one of them. "You have one wound and you'll be tracked down for miles till one of you are killed. They'll eat their own tail if they have too.." Shaking her head she looked up in a blink from the sound of a branch snapping. Breath slowed her moves stayed in a crouch as she counted, moment by moment yet not even the herd was disturbed, a sign that they were aright.

"Honestly the Gore Magala is the last I would want to face here though. Least you can track a Deviljho and figure out where one is, shadow like Gore though just shows up without warning." She saw it only once as a child, her father and his fellow hunters put up an amazing fight while she was hid in a covered ditch. she'd never forget the way it's wings moved like the the night winds, ore how it howled like a phantom. Yet shes only seen it alive, it gotten away before they could do too much damage.

Still it was not the time to sit and chat all day, rolling up the map with their next stop made up she stood. Making a wide girth around the herd twords the trails only to stop near a wide open trunk, claw marks in a form of art on the inside only for her to see an even deeper cavern inside. "Jaggi..Guys keep an eye out these marks are two big to belong to the normal ones." She was a little more on guard, tapping her blades yet all she done was crack her neck as she made her way back to the hunters, a small gleam in her eyes as she passed them. "Your right, we can find some mushrooms in the caverns, if we're lucky we can find some ore or whetstones as well."

The journey towards the wood was rather pleasant, sea changed into land and mist into clear weather. Roland grew with each step more confident and so he moved light like a feather, his steps getting more and more springy. It seemed that no weight was pushing him down, that he was in his element. Indeed, Roland grew up close to woods like this. Hoards of Kelbis and Aptonoths. A faint smile appeared on his face as he saw a young Aptonoth playing between the bigger ones. Normally Aptonoth were very friendly and calm but if something were to threaten their offsprings, it is even known that they challenge Wyvern like Rathalos. Needless to say it always ended badly for them.

"Challenging a Rathalos in this kind of environment?" Roland let his eyes wander, both of them had their point but he had another idea how to challenge him if it would ever come down to it.

"In the open fields you are lacking cover but trees and bushes will be easily set ablaze by the breath of the sky king."
A short pause was created as Roland looked at the tree tops far ahead of them.
The high cliffs and the season were creating a heavy upfront which soared above the tree tops. The wood itself was rather protected by the wind but above the crowns?

Roland pointed toward the tree tops which are rustling in the salty wind of the sea.

"The woods would even be more dangerous. The high draft would allow the Wyvern to leap huge rounds without much effort, he would cook us alive with his breath or shredding us with his claws while flying his rounds."

His fingers first pointed on the card and then towards a high cliff, it was probably the same destination or atleast a close one to the cave.

"The cliff. It is whirling up the strong wind of the sea. The wind current would force him to land sooner or later. The bad thing is probably the lack of space there but it can also be used to someone's advantage"

Roland but then grew awfully quiet during the mention of the Deviljho. It wasn't the mention of the creature who undoubtedly was one of the greatest threat. It was his never ending hunger which consumed monsters, farms and cities alike. It was highly adaptable adapted endangered whole ecosystems with his presence, a true abomination!
While hunger drives this monstrosity among monsters, hunger has also driven the human monsters which are still consuming Roland's sanity.

The resemblance of Moga Wood and Kokoto Woods, the calm and friendly herd of Aptonoths, it was like a stab in his chest.

"Let's just get going" came the grumpy answer as the question was utterly where they should head.

The march towards the cave now showed a distracted and angry hunter which quickly changed as he saw the claw marks. It was now curiosity. Big claw marks like this. Jaggi used them to mark their territory but the claws must be as big as Roland's arm, if not even bigger. Truly terrifying!

With a short 'Shnik ' the long gunlance unfolded in Roland's hand. Unlike most users Roland wielded it more like a long sword. The heavy axe blade worked as as a counter weight and the form of the gunlance also resembled more an helmbarde than an actual lance. It was thanks to the form that Roland's could maintain an aggressive and quick fighting style with such a weapon. Either way, he was ready for trouble and with a serious face he nodded first towards Jacque and then towards Reema.

"Let's get some mushrooms" he said in in a grave like voice.

A smile was etched over Reema's features, one that caused the scar on her face to slide slightly. This was what she missed, to be scouting a new area and conversing how to take down such massive beasts when they had yet to even be given a job for such a monster. It was still great to hear everyone's thoughts, it shown how each enjoyed to fight.

She couldn't help but notice Roland's sudden change in attitude though. It was a dangerous trait if that would keep up. To be affected mentally so easily during a hunt would get someone if not his entire team killed if his mind is somewhere else. "Roland, are you aright my friend?" She was not someone to jet let problems sit in the sun and rot. No, if they were going to be putting each other's lives in their hands they needed to know if each one was at their best or worst so they can cover for each other.

Yet the moment she mentioned a larger monster may be in the area he unsheathed his weapon, another slightly worrying sign. If he was sound in the mind there would be no problem, but he may end up using the behemoth in his hands when he wouldn't have to. "Just be careful" her words quiet she made her way through the woods, the valley at her back only to find a stream before them. The trickling water rather soothing, she could even hear Felynes in the foliage, somewhere at least.
Ahead was the caverns entrance, a gaping maw open wide for any sized monster to get through. Yet as she began to step forward she froze, kneeling down, her guard up once more she traced the ground with her finger tips, the compacted dirt and grass wouldn't give way to much but she could still feel and slightly see the outline of tracks that were extremely familiar.
"Wait, got an idea"
She was already looking up, the tracks didn't seem like a beast had jumped, just a straight even line. Moving to the side of the cavern entrance she grabbed a outcrop of stone, pulling herself up little by little. She had to admit that little thing like this were indeed fun, the perch she found herself on was breath taking, she could see the different areas in the caverns with an open sky and even see the small arena like field to her left.
Crouching down though she moved forward, only to hold her breath when she heard the familiar cries of jaggi, and a much larger form. Pink and violet scales, with a thin crown and talons the size of her arm Reema just watched as it stepped slowly through the room, its smaller followers nipping and calling at it's heels trying to gain some special treatment.

Silently she looked back over to her companions, mentioning them up and to keep quiet she offered a hand to them on any way up. "Great jaggi, we have a request for jaggi but nothing about the leader." Her voice a whisper she kept looking at the beast to make sure it was in her sights. "What do we want to do, we can just wait him out, I got enough supplies to take him down with some help but if we do we should head back to the village so a kill that size won't attract anything else." She was open to any outcome. They could set the village up for some time with a great jaggi kill, and she could make a new piece of armour even if they split the resources. But at the same time it was not an emergency that they needed a large monster, no one asked for a great jaggi by name.

Alone again.. when she was alone. Elysia took a huge breath of the salty sea air as the boat rocked beneath her feet. She stared at the hunting village as it came into view, rubbing a hand in her short hair. "Almost there, old man." she murmured to herself.

It had been a long journey since Roy had passed away, leaving her his bow and armor, which thanks to him teaching her, Elysia had been able to alter to fit her own body. She moved slowly across the deck as the boat came in to dock, the anchor plunging into the water to steady it in place. Elysia moved to beneath the ship, helping the deckhands unload heavy boxes onto the deck.

"Still can't believe a wee thing such as yourself can lift those crates." The captain of the ship admitted, nodding in her direction. He was an elderly man with a graying beard and thick age lines decorating his face.

Elysia rolled her eyes. "And i still can't believe an old crusty guy like you owns a ship." She retorted, giving him a smirk.

The captain laughed, slapping her on the back gleefully. "You certainly have the fire in you. Just like Roy did. Send me a letter once you've defeated that Alatreon you are always talking about. Moga village is just up those trails, you can't miss it." he waved as he wandered off, leaving her to her thoughts.

The Alatreon.. that danged Alatreon who destroyed her village and sent her on this path in the first place. The chances of finding the same one.. were slim to none.. likely.. it was dead already. She shook her head. Thinking about this was madness, she was not nearly ready to fight one of those beasts.. and she probably wouldn't be for a very long time.

She walked down the path on her own, watching others riding Aptonoths. These slow monsters were friendly, but they smelled awful. She would much rather walk on her own two feet. Elysia turned to survey her surroundings. So.. this was apparently supposed to be her home for the next couple of years. A beautiful place.. kind of reminded her of her childhood home. As she entered the village, the people greeted her eagerly, some staring intently at the massive weapon on her back.

"Goodness.. another new hunter.. that makes four in one day. I think that is a record... you are a lot smaller than the others though." a young woman beckoned to her. She started to talk endlessly about how the guild worked, and everything she needed to know about everything. Honestly.. Elysia wasn't really paying attention. She'd already heard this lecture from Roy... six times in fact. "... you certainly are lucky you know.. we only have one place to sleep left.. just over there."

"Thanks so much." she stated curtly, signing the agreement papers as fast as she could. Elysia then moved away from the woman before she could start talking more, and made her way to the last room left. This was where she was supposed to sleep every night. A medium-sized room with a chest at the foot of her bed, for storage, most likely. There was a small stool next to an equally small table in the corner. A place to set her armor and weapons... or eat if she felt like it.

Heaving a sigh, Elysia decided it was probably time to explore the village. Unfortunately for her, that meant the annoying woman was back.. AGAIN. "You know, its unfortunate you just missed the other hunters, they went on a scouting mission somewhere... seems like a nice time. You could solo mission if you want.. my uncle was-"

Allowing the woman to jabber on, Elysia scrunched up her face. It was unfortunate they'd already left. She would have liked to see the other hunters she was working with. Well.. she could go out on her own on a mission. But it would have to be something easy if she didn't want to die. Roy had always warned her to either go out in a group or take only the easiest missions. She might consider taking an easy mission to spend time.. or she could just.. explore the village a bit more... and HOLY CRAP SHE WAS ALREADY BORED.

She headed over to the guild and leafed through the missions, searching for one she could possibly handle on her own. It was too late to chase after the others anyways. Maybe there was something good.

Quest: Harvest 'Shroom
Client: Clan Matriarch
Subquest A: Deliver 2 Ripened Mushroom (500z)
Subquest B: Deliver 1 Choice Mushroom (500z)

UGH.. SO BORING.

Quest: Prescription Pick-up
Client: Medicine Man
Subquest A: Deliver 2 Kelbi Horns (600z)
Subquest B: Slay 5 Kelbi (500z)

Still boring, but far less so. She grasped the second quest in her hand, intending to head out on her own and kill some herbivores. Woo.. so exciting... NOT.. She heaved a heavy sigh. If only she had been able to scout as well... would have been far more interesting.

"REALLY?? REALLY?? F***" Elysia swore loudly as the pack of Jaggi appeared out of nowhere and started to attack and devour her quest Kelbi. lead by a slightly larger Great Jaggi. A surge of frustration gathered in her body and she eyed the Great Jaggi with disgust. Kill the leader.. KILL THE DANGED LEADER. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGH!" She screamed at the Great Jaggi, another string of rather colorful swear words bursting from her mouth.

The Great Jaggi raised its head as she stabbed on of its pack through the chest with her shift axe, twisting it around to protect herself from its sharp teeth. "YOU MOTHER F****ING S*** FOR BRAINS DAMN A**HOLE OF A F***ING LIZARD!" The insults were just flying out of her mouth as she drove her axe into the head of the first Jaggi she'd pierced in the chest. She was so busy fighting the pack of Jaggi, and screaming insults, that she didn't even notice the three hunters off in the distance.

Jacque's face was an unreadable slab as he crept around Reema to get a look at the beasts that milled about below their hiding spot. His movements were different than the casual loping manner that he'd used to get to the caves. The clanking that had come with his previously leisurely gait was deafened to near imperceivable levels that would have required either prior knowledge of his presence, or for one to specifically be focusing on the sounds around them to pick up on. "I packed pretty light today since I wasn't expecting to run into something big. Got all the hunting essentials, but i'm pretty low on medicinal aids." Jacque whispered as he spared a glance at Roland.

He was a tad worried about Roland's change of mood, fearing that the other man might jump into things too fast if his mind wasn't in the right place. Still, the prospect of a hunt, and of the chance of seeing how the other two would operate was extremely tempting. Jacque's jaw tensed a bit as he weighed the pros and cons of a battle at the moment before he spoke once more, "I'm still up for a fight provided we're all good to go. But first i'd suggest finding a way around the Jaggi to further into the cave and find what we set out for, then take them on the way out. We might find something useful in there that could help us. Not to mention it'd give us a chance to figure out wether or not we want just the Jaggi or the entire pack, Great Jaggi included.".

Roland noticed the glares and the comments of the other hunters but tended to ignore them, it was personal, too personal for some hunting companions he just met the day before. He grunted that he was fine and let it be. Sure it was stupid to let emotions influence him during a hunt but Roland quickly regained his old self. It was now the great Jaggi and the pack around which completely consumed his cautious and mind. He was now fully in hunting mode and directly weighting the pro and contras of fighting either the pack, it's leader or both and that even before Reema offered him help to climb the stoney ledge. It was a short climb and left Roland's a bit huffing, the big weapon restricted his movement while climbing just enough to make it a noteable exercise, so he stuffed some dried meat in his mouth as he crouched down to see the pack in the far distance.

"If we slay the pack without the leader, the great Jaggi will quickly gather smaller ones around him. It will bring peace for a short time, either if another pack takes over or he regained his pack size."
The words of Roland were only disturbed by the occassional munching on the dried meat and what he uttered was just simple book knowledge but none the less important.

"If we slay the leader, the pack will undoubtedly scatter. So both decisions, in my opinion, would full fill the contract. It gains the village a short pause of Jaggi attacks but personally I would root out the great Jaggi and parts of the pack. With the Aptonoth in breeding season we would so offer the pack some protection and greater wyvern some food sources without the need for them to prey on a near village or farm"

Roland shrugged, it was obvious that he was for hunting both but it was a group decision.

"Aright, lets go around for now than, circle back, find some more advantage points and hit them after we looked around a bit more." She was about to turn around, every move as quiet as she could make it, with her head ducked down she mentioned them to follow to see if their was a way around them from here.
Yet her hear stopped when she heard chaos below her, a woman screaming at the jaggi she turned back, hands on the ground and eyes wide to see a smaller woman welding a hunter's hammer with furry. "What in the world?" The jaggi scattered yet the leader was already calling for more, worry on her features at the display she looked to her hunters to try and figure out if they were seeing the same thing. The beast snapping and giving out it's dog like cries it began to twist it's body, using it as a battering ram right towards the young woman.

"I think our choice was already made for us. I can get him away from her, she may be a spit fire but going like that is bound to make some mistakes." She was already unsheathing her blades, a glare in her gaze for a moment at the scene below only to take a quick breath and shake her thoughts. No, her father trained her better than that, never go on the battle filed with a angry mind.
"Well. lets see how well we work together, may our blades stay true." Going back to the ledge she began to slide down, oh how she wished she had some time to make a plan before going against that thing but she had no choice in the matter. The huntress was going to get herself killed if she didn't get some help.

Even though Reema was large, square shoulders and built like a tank she was surprisingly nimble. Rolling out of the way in the dirt she gave the beast one quick slash before rolling out from under it's tail. Running to the right she offered herself up as bait. Watching the beast make his way to her only for her to roll again. Moves smooth, quick and agile yet it only meant that the blows she gave were not nearly as damaging as something like a great sword. The rush of battle began to flow through her veins, a calculating glint in her eyes yet it shined with the rush of doing what she loved.
Seeing the huntress she worked with the beast, a dance through the caverns she could hear the smaller jaggi call out as she coaxed his back end towards the axe wielder. "His tail, get it!" It's all she was able to say before she brought up her blades in a X over her body, feeling the force of his head bashing into her abdomen yet she stood her ground and slid a few feet, shaking it off as she felt her heart pounding a mile a minute.

Roland had to blink a few times to realise what was happening below. The scenery quickly changed as the pack closed in a young huntress who was more swinging her weapon than actually using it, sooner or later the Jaggi would do some serious damage to her. Reema was already on her feet to help the young huntress and Roland dived in after. He was smiling, weirdly he was smiling!

"What happened with 'I tend to watch a beast for a few days to a week before we move on them though.'"

Roland tried to imitate Reema's voice as he remembered what she said yesterday and it was surprisingly well, if you leave out the deep bass like voice of Roland but a solid 5 outta 7. He just remembered it since she gave him 'the look' as he described his rather rash way of hunting to her. It was funny how quickly she threw over her principles for someone she never met and so could not trust but this was probably only his usual human hating manner which gave him that thought. It went rather well, he got a hunt like he loved it.

A shriek sounded as Roland threw himself off the cliff, using the bagpack as as kind of sledge and the scale armour of his arms to control the short and fast slide downwards. The heavy weapon didn't allowed him any other way down since it would hinder his equilibrium. The dirt and sand clenched into the scales of his Jaggi armour and Roland took took a mental note to clean it as soon as rossi he returned to the village.

He hit the ground but landed with his feet first and his gunlance ready to fight. It was a weird and painful way down, but an effective one. A second, already too much for Roland's taste, took it to recognise what happened.
Reema tried to bring the Jaggi in a pincher between her and the unknown female huntress, further smaller Jaggi are entering the cavern while some others regained as they heard their reinforcements coming closer. Jaggis are rather aggressive but also easily to scare without a pack leader.
Roland decided to fence off some of the pack to allow Reema a fight without disturbance, such a weapon like his would only get in the way since she Reema needed much space to act so agile.

With a short sprint Roland was at the first Jaggi, he used a slow stab and the small creature doged it by an inch, just the way Roland wanted it to be. The creature tried to close the gap with a quick launch but was instead deadly suprised as an explosion send it flying instead. The gunlance glowed in inactive slight red from the sudden released heat. Two other Jaggi closed in as the third one, who was hit by the shot of the gun Lance stood up. They tried to close him in and Roland let them. As the first launched he did a quick step to the side and used the heavy blade of his axe to bring bring a swift end to the creature. The blade now stuck in the neck of the dead Jaggi and so being pulled to the gound, the second hoped for it's chance and closed in from the body of his dead kin as the third closed in for Roland's right side. He used the trigger of the gun Lance and shot the first Jaggi, the explosion knocked him off the feet and leaved it crippled but living. The second bit at Roland and he shifted his position a bit, offering the Jaggi his heavy armoured side. The Jaggi took the offered side and nd bit into Roland's arm, who still hold the axe with it. Bone met Scale and flesh was bruised as the long jaw completely enclosed Roland's arm. Only the armour and the loosely attached shield saved Roland's from a serious injury and he knew that, in fact he counted on that. Quickly he grabbed his knive with his free hand gutted the poor Jaggi swiftly yet effectively. Few wou, dass know but when biting it's prey most wyvern, no most and niemals are closing their eyes to prevent damage. It would also mean that they wouldn't see such an attack coming. As quickly as he drew his dagger, it also vanished.
"Oi huntress! Maybe they are mistaking your firey language as calls for help because there are coming more and more of them"
He yelled over the sound of Jaggi cries and the roaring of battle towards the young huntress.

With a yank Roland pushed the now dead Jaggi away and also freed his gunlance from the corpse of the other. He regained stance as he held his weapon crossed before his body, the heavy axe blade over his right shoulder and tilted towards his front, the stance of an executioner, as he awaited further attacks of the small beasts.

"This is shaping up to be one hell of a day..." Jacque mused aloud as he followed after his companions to aid the new arrival on the scene. The hunter launched himself from the ledge and landed with a roll and a short grunt of discomfort as his armor pinched him in a few places. His plans were shot, this was a small source of annoyance to him, as was the fact that the calamitous noise that came with the new hunter's assault on the Jaggi pack and their leader could very well lead to some unwanted attention.

Jacque rose and pulled his weapon from his back, but did not engage immediately. Keeping the great sword directly in front of him, Jacque slowly began to encircle the other fighters, occasionally making a mock lunge at a Jaggi that veered a bit too close for his tastes as he tried to get a feel of what was going on. Reema and Roland were holding their own, much to his approval, and it even seemed as though a plan was being worked to coerce the Great Jaggi into a pinch maneuver. Jacque, for his part, began doing what he could to act as crowd control, lest the large beast try and fall behind it's emboldened allies. The hunter snarled and swung his weapon in a wide horizontal arc, putting only enough force into it to convince the jaggi attempting to swarm him that getting close was a bad idea. The idea was further concreted when one jaggi attempted to lunge at Jacque from behind, mistaking his large and clunky appearance to mean he was slow, only to find itself impaled on the vicious blades of his swords when he twisted around with almost monstrous speed. Jacque was all too familiar with the way pack hunters liked to operate: cut off, crowd, and attack the blind spots, a standard tactic that he'd seen many times with velociprey. It was only too unfortunate for the Jaggi that they weren't quite as swift in their attack as the prey family tended to be.

Jacque twisted back around and flung the body of the Jaggi at it's comrades with a wet sucking sound as flesh was yanked away from metal. The other Jaggi, in response to the sight of the broken body of their pack mate being thrown at them, deftly sidestepped and jumped out of the way. "What are you waiting for? I'm here! COME AT ME!" Jacque barked as he lunged forward again with his weapon to force the other Jaggi to either sidestep or jump back. He continued to work the group of jaggi that attempted to surround him, stepping in time with each lunge to get them to move in the direction he wanted them to. Adding to this Jacque would occasionally widen the arc of his swings, serving two purposes: the first and most obvious was to prevent a rear attack like that which was being set up for the Great Jaggi, and the second -and more important- reason, was to ensure the jaggi focused almost exclusively on Jacque as he slowly guided them closer and closer to Roland.

Instinct kicking in Elysia planted her feet squarely in the ground, lowered her shoulder and ducked. The Great Jaggi slammed into her, winding her for a moment, but her center of gravity was far lower than his. The thunk of impact sent the creature fumbling clumsily backwards. "HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT? DICK!" She yelled, another Jaggi fastened its teeth into her arm, but she didn't even feel it, automatically jamming a fist into its face, which made it yelp in surprise, allowing her to slice its head off in one clean swoop.

And then, the other hunters, three of them, who probably thought she was insane. Whatever, she'd fought a pack of Jaggi before and survived... more or less in tact. A few broken ribs.. nothing really serious.

"NO YOU IDIOT, SCREAMING ENRAGES THE GREAT JAGGI." True to her word, the screaming seemed to affect the Great Jaagi. It surely had enough of her shouting. Scraping its talons against the ground, it charged towards her. And she was more than ready for the charge. As its teeth lunged for her she heaved her weapon in a downward ark, sinking it into the beast's head. However, the beast wasn't quite done fighting.. or living. It wrenched away from her, effectively ripping the axe from her hands. "Sh-" Elysia swore. What a time for her danged switch axe to lose its sharpness. She backed away slightly, clenching her hands into fists. Well, all else failed she could just.. punch it.. right.. punch it. idiot she scolded herself.

The weight of her axe still in the creature's head, its neck drooped and it slowed, wavering back and forth as it attempted to continue towards her. It wasn't moving very quickly, and it seemed close to death.

"SHOOT IT IN THE F****ING FACE!" She shouted, glancing to the man with the projectile weapon.

She felt the need to roll her eyes at Roland's comment, there was no way the woman would keep to her preferred ways if it meant endangering another person. "Consider it a rarity!"

"That woman is indeed an angry one"
spitting at the stone Reema found herself smiling. Her commands keeping the smaller ones away she locked eyes with the great Jaggi, that same moment in time when she was attacked all those years ago still playing in her mind whenever she fought one of the beasts. She never held a grudge for them, they were just doing what nature intended, but it did give her a connection to the creatures more so than average.
Again she charged, bewilderment when she saw the smaller woman yell and scream. "And they say I'm a monster" right before she met the charging Jaggi she slid underneath him, her blades cutting to the under belly causing the beast to roar in anger as she ended up on the other side. A small group nipping at Jacque she waisted no time in stabbing the beast with her window of chance. The blades singing as crimson painted the steel.
"Trade with ya? Take over for me a bit I'll cover ya, he needed something a bit bigger than these guys." Looking for the best course of action she found that even though her blades were causing the leader to anger and snap, crimson only flecked at his hide. "I gave you some openings in his scales so don't hold back there."

This was what it meant to be a hunter. To trust someone else to bring the kill. To work together, these were her comrades and they had to work together for the best outcome. Already she was working on crowed control, her quick movements perfectly suited to being offensive with the smaller Jaggi. Instead of sitting and waiting she dug in and fast, piercing only to slash into a broth as they hoped around trying to get the best of her. "Not today little ones."

Roland was short of words as he heard the unknown huntress scream that someone should shot the great Jaggi in the face! Does she know how how a gunlance works? To simplify it, a catalyst is dragging the oxygen from the air and gathers it inside chambers which are crafted into the weapon. The number of chambers being the numbers of shots fired. When pulling the trigger the oxygen inside the chamber gets released and ignited via a spark the gas will forcefully expand, leading to an explosion. And when all chambers get emptied in one go, well this is what causes the huge explosion when using a gun lance. So all he did was yelling back.

"Women! This a gunlance! Not a crossbow!" Furthermore he was busy dealing with the smaller brood. He was too far away to land land a decent shot but the tides of the battle were shifting, he saw Remark creating a small opening for Jacque and him. Jacque would earn the honor to slay the monster and with that weapon, it would be rather easy for him to deal the final blow. It was only a short gap Reema created but enough for Roland to act as well. The gun Lance snapped open as the chambers recharged with fresh air as he jumped behind the group of Jaggi which Reema was pushing towards him.

A sharp sound mixed into the battling noise as the gun Lance prepared his ultimate attack. Roland steadied his stand and held the weapon with both hands, his shoulders relaxed to take the recoil.

"DOGDE" he yelled over the noise of the gun lance, just a second before it would go off. The sound and the yelling was enough to catch the attention of the Jaggis, who all turned towards Roland, their demise.

What they saw was only a big fireball engulfing them completely and those who were luckily enough to be out of the range of the fire, the heat and the shock would still throw them back. The damage wasn't as bad as it looked like but it was the show, the fire, the noise which had a great effect on the monsters, if other Jaggi would try to come to aid now, even they would think twice.

Roland slithered on the ground as he tried to take hold of the recoil, he managed to control the weapon and exhaled as he came to a stop. The innards of the gunlance stood wide open and glowed in a bright red as the metal tried to cool down. Roland wouldn't be able to fight effectively during that time but he hoped that it was worth it, even thou he now risked his weapon to break, he turned around to face the great Jaggi.

Behind Roland was only scorched ground and crispy Jaggi to go!

Jacque felt relief crash over him as the swarm of Jaggi he'd been trying to guide into Roland was dispersed in a flurry of blades. The large hunter may have had strength to spare, but his stamina would have only lasted him but so long if he'd continued to waste his energy on false attacks. "Seems like a fair trade. The next blow is mine!" Jacque roared thunderously, excitement visible on his face as he realized that he was now free to really throw his weight around.

The hunter sheathed his weapon and took off like a shot while Reema and Roland did their part and kept the rest of the pack off of him. The Great Jaggi, despite being on death's door, still had a bit of fight left in it. Upon hearing the clanking of Jacque's armor as he rapidly approached, the Great Jaggi turned so that it's flanks were facing both Jacque and Elysia. Jacque drew his weapon in response to the action as he prepared for what he figured would be a standard hip check. He was surprised when the monster spun around with swiftness that could only be considered impressive considering it's grievous injuries, catching Jacque's shoulder with its massive tail as it twisted around to snap at him. Jacque grit his teeth as he felt a dull pain in his right shoulder where the tail had struck him like a metal rod. He spun with the momentum, ducking just in time to avoid having his head torn off by the monster's snapping jaws, although his helmet was knocked off when his head collided with the lower jaw.

He tensed and brought his weapon high over head as he got a good view of Reema's handiwork on the Great jaggi's exposed flank. Time seemed to slow a bit for Jacque as his vision tunneled. He glanced about wildly at each visible cut, looking for a good opening. 'There!' Jacque's mind screamed as he eyed a branch of cuts branching up from the beast's underbelly. Muscles developed over many years of labor brought the great sword down on the cluster of cuts, leaving a ragged tear in the weapon's wake as the weapon dug in, tore free, and lost sharpness all in the span of two seconds. The results were decidedly less than pretty: A gouge of blood and what Jacque could only assume to be a coil of small intestine spilled from the wound. The Great Jaggi bellowed in agony and rage before it spun around for one last attack, defiant even in it's last moments.

Jacque felt a combination of intense pressure and a series of knife-like pricks in his right shoulder as the Great Jaggi's teeth sunk in. At full health the beast might have very well torn the armor and a chunk of flesh free with the action, but alas, this was not the case. The monster could only drool and hold Jacque in it's jaws, giving two or three weak shakes of its head as shock set in and its body started to give out. His weapon clenched in his right hand, Jacque found himself in need of a different weapon to finish the job. Fortunately for him, the Great Jaggi happened to be sprouting a weapon out of its head.

The hunter planted his feet and reached over with his left hand, doing his best to ignore the jolts of pain that his right shoulder offered in protest. The handle of the switch axe was much too far to reach, however the blade itself was a different story entirely. Jacque gripped a portion of the weapon and pressed down with all of his strength, feeling the blade bite into his gloved hand as it penetrated the skull of the Great Jaggi. It was at this moment that he was grateful that the blade wasn't at full sharpness, after all; between the shuddering of the monster and the resistance it's skull offered to the intrusive weapon, Jacque felt as though part of his hand may have very well have been sheared off by his actions rather than simply cut open. There was a sickening cracking sound before the Great Jaggi offered up one last shudder and crumpled to the ground, bringing Jacque down with it. Tired and bloodied Jacque managed to pry his arm out of the beast's mouth, though he could do little else more besides squirm with futility as the dead Jaggi's weight pressed down on his legs.
