@GreenGrenade Miles is cool because he's in the mainstream continuity now.

@Bounce To be honest I would overwhelmingly prefer people to play mainstream DC/Marvel characters but I'm trying to use a bit of discretion where I can. Given that you've not radically changed a pre-existing character and that most of the GL stuff takes place off world I thought I'd allow it. I'm probably stricter about changes when it comes to big names but with characters nobody else is going to apply for I don't see the point - unless it's completely world-breaking.

Since my previous sheet went entirely against the whole one universe thing and stemming on the ultimate side of things, I was considering reapplying with someone else.

I had eyes on both Captain Marvel/Shazam or Ant-Man, both of which would be members of the Justice League if possible. I was leaning towards Ant-Man, as i thought someone who could shrink would suit nicely against the team's other more godly members. However I would prefer to play as Scott but i wasn't sure if that would be a feasible option?

Seems to me that if we're counting from Batman's first appearance, heroes have been around four years (three if we're counting the Superman/Magneto battle). Either way, I think there's wiggle room there to say that Hank had a brief Ant-Man stint already, leaving the door open for Scott. But of course, I have no power here, just thinking aloud.

Yeah that was what I was thinking, although i thought that it would be best to ask first just in case!

Don't think about it too much. If you want to play Scott Lang as Ant-Man, you play Scott Lang as Ant-Man. Don't write a thousand word history explaining the transition. Hank Pym exists, he made the technology and was Ant-Man for a period, now Scott Lang is.

I feel like we're getting bogged down a little, which is my fault given I'm technically in charge, but I want to get this thing started as soon as possible. Let's play, not spend forever talking about playing.

Fair enough, I'll try and get something up as soon as I can then!

Based on me reading and thinking really hard about, I'd say that @Morden Man has my vote and I like his support cast more. Sorry @Gowi, I don't like the fact that he already met Supergirl. I feel like that it's a bit too early to introduce her; but, I do like your history on Superman.

Anyways, I still need to pick between Green Arrow or Catwoman. Which do you think would have more of an impact on the roleplay? If you want to see the sheet that I did from Catwoman, you can go here. And judge me on how horrible it looks.

4-6 years since Superman debuts is plenty of time for Supergirl to debut honestly, and the New 52 makes the Robin's happen even sooner (and briefer) for a good comparison point.

Green Arrow is certainly the more "impactful" choice by virtue of being a potential Justice Leaguer/Avenger. Of course, impactfulness need not be the only metric by which you choose your character. If you'd rather play Selina, I say go for it.

Perhaps there's another point of difference: I'm not too hot on legacy characters showing up in games that are set fairly early on into someone's superheroing career. If someone turned up tomorrow and wanted to play Supergirl I would try to accommodate them as best I could but until that point I won't make reference to anything like that IC.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

@The Grey Warden I'd quite like to see you take a crack at Ollie, though I did enjoy your Selina last time I read it, so either would be good. For the sake of the game I think Green Arrow would be more significant.

@The Grey Warden As I'm fairly certain of going with Mystique I was thinking up a light tie in with Catwoman could be on the cards if she appeared...maybe! Keep me in mind if you go for the latter! Although I do agree Green Arrow holds a little more weight JL/AV.

I'm enjoying the prospect with this universe of having even small fairly non consequential crossovers just to keep things interesting. Characters passing events of someone else's storyline on the street, to bigger tie ins. To a non gimmicky effect of course.

Goddammit, why are @Morden Man and @Gowi so fucking good. Can't you lower your standards like the rest of us?

Ass-kissing aside, I'm gonna need a minute to vote proper.

We do not speak of the New 52.

It is dead to us.

For fuck's sake, they've made Robin the new Jean Grey of death/resurrection. And I can't forgive them for Wondy's pantsuit.

We obviously very much disagree subjectively here, but for everyone else who is feeling wary: the reason I set up things as I do isn’t for reasons that have no weight behind them, I am not flippant and I do not create pointless structures and I detest the implication. I set up Kara because I intend to incorporate her in the stories I want to tell. I have a very “big picture” setup when it comes to these superhero CS’s as I think things should be rounded out in structure from launch.
