Well, it's either collabs or we all talk to each other in stilted, awkward posts. :3 Besides, they don't take that long. Me and @Spriggs27 finished ours in, what, a day or two? And we don't all have the fortune of living in the same time zone. The majority of us will likely be American, which is, like, three time zones. Maybe a few Aussies. I'm in Wales, and I won't be the only Brit. As long as we can confirm that things are happening, I guess we just have to wait. Though I wouldn't mind people hurrying up a little...
How do you know I don't live right next to you in Wales ? I could be your neighbor spying on you right now, Jk I'm in america
So today is a rather agitated day for me. There may be some parts that aren't super clear, but I've done my best to detail what needs to be explained.
Charles Anderson
"I absolutely agree with you on that, but ..."
Name: Charles Anderson
Title: Hypnos
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 16
Height: 1m81 (5'11")
Weight: 70 KG (154 lbs)
Personality: Charles is a mysterious young man, though as much as he'd wish it were the attractive, womanizer type, it's actually not a thing one would envy. He's made himself very difficult to assert by others by radiating with positive energy without having the excess energy to go with it. It is almost unnerving as to how he always sees or formulates things in the brightest and most hopeful way possible, because it is clear that it isn't very natural coming from him. All this being accompanied with an unfaltering grin and perfectly straight posture, he gives a chilling vibe when there's absolutely nothing to be creeped out about.
With his encouraging words and recurring compliments, he's proven to be the perfect 'Yes man' to any self-righteous leader he'd be affiliated with. Like the average suck up formulations used in a CV or when giving advice to others in a more appealing way, he will never use negative terms (and rarely the word no) to qualify not so great things like mission failures. "You may have failed, but you can only emerge stronger from this" or "You're not weak, there's just a lot of room for you to improve!". Of course, he doesn't escape the occasional jabs concealed behind politeness and supposed good intentions. It isn't rare for people to see this method of socialisation and smug and provoke others to just punch him in the face. He's a very good listener however, never once has he shown disinterest in what others have said, and he invests himself in whatever niche information they may give to him.
This creepy persona he keeps on translates as rather efficient in the battlefield. He's rarely shaken by anything going on there while also never letting enthusiasm get the best of himself. Charles is actually very rational when operating, disconnected from his humanity in exchange for complete efficiency. He works surprisingly well in teams, but has the horrible tendency to lie on how his manifestation works, giving bogus explanations that lead his victims to react the way they do.
Short Bio: Charles is an Anderson, a lineage that made profit like any other opportunist during these dark times. What they do exactly remains in their inner circle, but it is known that the Anderson patriarch had strong ties with YTC's financial department. The extent of their ties is unclear, but many manufacturing firms are currently ruled by the Anderson name. Resources and good were never scarce for Charles and his twin sister, Camille. They however grew up without ever knowing their father. The mother of the two never really spoke of why he wasn't there, but she made it clear he wasn't dead. Charles never resented his father for this, for he never lacked anything in his life.
He did have a strict uprising, following a very disciplined education from a young age and initiated in whatever his family wanted him to be. He never questioned any of it, especially with his mind almost tuned to the liking of his mother. It isn't clear whether he adopted this overwhelmingly affirmative personality through this tough education, but the obedience that came with it was very much welcome by the family. The only downside was that his manifestation never truly blossomed as something of exception. Illusions are fine and all, but he'd end up having the disappointment of his mother by not being the unique being she so wished to have.
Joining the Chasers was the only logical step. While he was always close to his twin sister, he was sent in first to accomplish whatever interest his family could have by fulfilling the Chaser agenda.
Manifestation:
As the name clearly indicates, Charles abilities revolve around influencing the mind. They manifest themselves into active illusions adapted for combat scenarios but generally useful in many other situations.
To start off, the active illusions cast by Charles can be activated via cues related to senses. Each illusion is tied to one or more sense, and they cannot be accumulated. Charles can, however, manipulate his own Zetsu to have the illusions alternate at random moments to toy with his enemies. As of now, he is known to have four different illusions: (highly detailed, because illusions are always a pain in the ass to handle IC)
Impersonator: A simple optical illusion that consists in his Zetsu surrounding him and inducing anyone glancing toward him to see and hear him under the appearance he wishes. He cannot become invisible nor exceed a specific size, which would be useless considering he doesn't morph. He is capable of influencing smaller objects he has contact with as well.
Idolatry: Using the sound cue of his fingers snapping, Charles exerts his Zetsu through the unique sound waves emitted, inducing the illusion. The illusion causes the victim(s) to perceive everything around them as much larger than it should be. Including people and the sounds they emit. They also become hypersensitive to vibrations, hence they 'feel' tremors when these supposed titans move around (though it doesn't affect their performance).
Topsy Turvy: He turns into an Inkay Charles' cologne emits a powerful aroma of oranges. So strong in fact that it is almost intoxicating at times. Such a smell is used as a medium to perpetually maintain a target's brain from being subjected to Topsy Turvy. The effects are easy to comprehend when Charles activates it, all directions are inverted: Forward, backwards, up, down, left, right. Everything is perceived in a reversed fashion. Easy to understand as sounds remain the same allowing one to favor that sense over the others, but both vision and any form of 6th sense is forcibly locked onto the inverted version.
Convulsing Loop: An illusion based off touch, the ability to physically feel. It requires Charles to touch the selected target. The next step is to have the victim 'feel' highly distinguishable elements such as a painful blow or touching a specific object after at least ten seconds has past since the first touch. Including Charles' touch, three specific sensory inputs involving tactile interaction must occur in order for the illusion to work. Once all three are complete, the loop may commence. After an interval of about ten seconds, the exact same sensory input is felt by the victim, though without any damage afflicted. For a split second they also witness the event that caused the sensation. This occurs over and over. Note: An illusion can be cast while the three touches are being set up.
Weapons:
-A Wakizashi stored within his coat and safe from the view of others. The sheath is indeed quite short, though it has the particularity of having a trigger below the blade's hilt. He uses it to fire the blade at high velocity as he favors iado approaches. When released, the blade is surprisingly longer than the hilt as it revealed to be a chokuto with a telescope blade capable of adapting. The blade itself is red, and superheated like the majority of quality blades manufactured for Chasers, as such it can easily cut through resilient materials.
The sheath however is capable of taking the shape of a carabine and fire energy based projectiles. They can be compared to assault rifle artillery, packing a major punch in big volleys.

Manifestation:
As the name clearly indicates, Charles abilities revolve around influencing the mind and memories. They manifest themselves into two different possible forms: Active illusions and memory tinkering. The former being more adapted for combat scenarios while the latter serves best as a supplement or in situations of specific context.

Topsy Turvy: He turns into an Inkay Charles' cologne emits a powerful aroma of oranges. So strong in fact that it is almost intoxicating at times. Such a smell is used as a medium to perpetually maintain a target's brain from being subjected to Topsy Turvy. For a split second they also witness the event that caused the sensation. This occurs over and over. Note: An illusion can be cast while the three touches are being set up.
As for the manipulation of memories, Charles can implant fragments of memories onto sapient beings. The amount he can influence depends on the situation however. In the midst of a fight, he is capable of extending his Zetsu a few meters around him to transfer the desired idea. But in that case, it'll be very small, holding no influence to the targeted minds with just incremental pieces of information (i.e a specific detail about his weapon that he barely exposed). Victims can always find contradictions in these new memories and immediately piece together the truth.
When given the right scenario, with either the victim strapped or simply unaware that they're being manipulated, bigger ideas can be implanted. Of course it is no where near brainwashing, but it can go up to creating false events in their minds. To reach such a point, prolonged physical contact and a large amount of Zetsu are required.

Let me first start off by saying your Sig is extremely ironic. Almost scarily so. Unless you were going for that, in which case it is impressive. Anyway, I don't think he should have illusion-based powers and memory tinkering. Personally, I'm fine with him just having his illusion abilities while getting rid of the memory manipulation altogether. Furthermore, anything involved with YTC is under KoL's jurisdiction so I'll let them handle that segment in his bio. He looks interesting so far.
@KoL I assumed that there would be a collab for that battle because you have only two rounds of posts, maybe less, to work with, under the assumption that a six round deadline for finishing the exam is going to be applied. Generally, a post or two from everyone in a fight doesn't make for an interesting, climatic one, but that's just from personal experience, so I could be wrong.

You know that actually pissed me off, how are we suppose to fight this thing then actually finish this dammed Exam ?
IF we all go for the damn machine then we piss time away fighting it.
IF we go to the exit we gotta fight some dudes that are blocking the ruins exit.
This test just seems like it was made to fail and it's giving me somewhat a headache thinking about how it's suppose to work when some people have less chances to post than others, and we gotta have a post limit.
Part of me thinks that we can do this, but another part is just angry because of all the hoops KoL is putting for us, Sorry KoL but I'm feeling like you just had too much to add to this entrance exam.
Think about this, we gotta fight that robot, then what ? what if someone has like 1 or 2 post left ? They just run by the guys blocking the exit ?
I for once am Brazilian (GMT -03:00 time zone), just so that everyone knows for future reference about time zones. but the thing I mentioned about collabs is that, they generally are more trouble than they are worth.
Meh. I like them. It makes me feel more connected to the person I'm collabing with.
<Snipped quote by Brithwyr>
How do you know I don't live right next to you in Wales ? I could be your neighbor spying on you right now, Jk I'm in america
I live in the middle of fucking nowhere. The only people who live next to me are old biddies and sheep. I wish you were spying on me. Nothing happens where I live...

I think you're getting annoyed over nothing. It's just a small starting test. Obviously everyone is going to pass. The post limit is just to ensure we don't spend forever on this segment.

I think you may be right, but I think I just don't like how much you guys are putting out, and on the first test really.
@TheWindel I can remove the memories, I wasn't too keen on furthering that part anyway. Actually, no matter the verdict, I'm removing them. They were a bad idea from the start. I think I had a good idea for it, but I forgot what it was in the middle so I made that shit.
The Sig is actually just a quote from a stupid/silly skype conversation (out of many others with said individual) from a while ago. I'm afraid I'm not all that impressive.

It's more so ironic since the person who said that is in this RP. In any case, your CS looks fine then. I'd wait for KoL to give their input though.
@TheWindel well I'm personally not thinking about myself windel, I was thinking of everyone else that had less post, Life, and even Vocab if they really need me to worry about them.

I'm sure they can worry for themselves. :3 Don't worry about the others, dude. If they have a problem, they'll bring it up in a PM or something.
I'm not saying it's not appreciated, but I don't want you worrying about something that might not actually be a problem. It's nice to knwo you're thinking of the wee man, though.
Oh, right, before I forget. Chasers that are human beings: are they all superhuman, physically? Or are they only superhuman if they have a Manifestation like super strength or super speed?
Hey @TheWindel I got a suggestion about something but I feel as if KoL would be too busy to listen and the other co-gm won't be here for a while, and I feel as if my idea will just get trashed.

Don't you all hate it when you are typing something on your phone and your finger slides to another place in the screen causing the page to reload and you to lose about half an hour of hard work to type on a tiny 5" screen? Well, at least I do. Anyway, back to the replies. @Savato
Charles is ok, except for the bit that Windel mentioned about his abilities, but this has already been solved, right? Also, as long as his involvement with YTC isn't bigger than having shady family businesses with them, also. I might expand that part on the future though, but for the time being, keep it like this.
Well, it's not may fault if people don't follow the rules I laid out in the clearest way possible and solved any pertinent doubts whenever I could. As @TheWindel said, everyone will get in, but the how will depend on what happens IC. Also if there's people behind when the test ends, I'll consider them to have finished with an average rating, as long as there's at least one available post for them to do, that's the most just thing to do people who have RL troubles.
BTW, if any of your characters has any complaints about the test, do so IC and I'll reply accordingly, otherwise, I'll just continue with it as I see fit.
Oh, right, before I forget. Chasers that are human beings: are they all superhuman, physically? Or are they only superhuman if they have a Manifestation like super strength or super speed?
No, you don't have to be superhuman to be a Chaser, all you need to do is graduate from a Chasers Academy such as Akatsuki. That said, badass normals are as rare here as they are anywhere else. BTW, Itsuko is an example of such.
Hey @TheWindel I got a suggestion about something but I feel as if KoL would be too busy to listen and the other co-gm won't be here for a while, and I feel as if my idea will just get trashed.
Don't talk about me as if I wasn't here. Even if I don't have time to reply immediately, I still would read it. Don't you feel you are antagonizing me a bit too much?
