Sweet I can't wait to explore it :)
Thanks, I got a lot of goodies hidden under there just waiting to kill you :p
Think I may as well put down some more thoughts I have on the game, and give you guys some insight on what it will look like.
So I figure the game will be broken up into chapters, and those split up into books. At the start of each chapter, I will lay out information regarding the state of the tribe, some challenges they face, and any other background information that might play out in your ICs. Each chapter will move time forward a certain amount of time; anything from a few months to a few years. Books, on the other hand, will bring the game forward even further in time, shifting focus on the tribe on the next generation, and a whole new set of obstacles to overcome.
As far as your characters go, each player will be given a skill point for each IC they write regarding their main character. This, I hope, will give incentive for players to IC, as well as offer a guide to how experienced your character is in a given field. If a player is to write an IC detailing a perilous hunt through sabertooth territory, he would gain a point in fighting. Say another player writes an IC of telling a riveting story by the fire, fleshing out the tribe's lore, they would get a point for influence. If these two players then decide to compete for the position of tribal chief and wish me to moderate, I now have a guide on who is more skilled in a given area, how they may approach the conflict, and who would most likely win. The fighter might win a contest of strength, while the other may seem more wise. This also tells me who is more committed to the game via who has written more ICs. We wouldn't want a flaky chief now would we?
In the following book, a fraction of skill points will be transferred over to the next generation, your character imparting lessons upon their children. It will be interesting to see, as the game goes on, how our characters may become the heroes of future generations, and the trials they face become legends shaping the beliefs of the tribe centuries later.
