Sweat dripping down her brow Reema was quick to dispatch the last of the jaggi, letting the creatures scatter when they realized that their pack leader was taken down. Her breathing coming in great gusts as her chest rose and feel over her steel plates she began to focus on easing the madness that pumped in her veins.
Moving to the kill she wasted no time in trying to move the Great Jaggi, using her shoulder she dug into his side, hoisting him up as though he were a fallen beam in the barn. If she had problems controlling her breath than it was gone, not a single gust escaped her lips as she tried to get her comrade free. Moment she saw he was she let the body fall, a thump echoing through the cavern as she loosened up her shoulder and offered Jacque a hand up, giving him a pat in the process.
"Well, its not what we planned but he would keep the village stocked for a while..and" She was already looking at the beast, nodding her head as she mumbled to herself. "Male, not young but not old ether...He'll make some great armour with that hide, bet ya you could add a tooth to that great sword of yours."

Looking back at her group she let out a sigh. "Well guys, it seems to me that we work well together, even without a plan made. is everyone aright?" She wasn't lying ether. She liked the way they worked, and was more than excited to really start going on adventures together. "We fought and drew blood together, in my family that means we're all brothers and sisters."
Turning back to the beast she knelt down, carefully reaching out and closing the eye that clouded over facing the sky. "Rest my friend, thank you for your sacrifice." She was making ideas of what could be used for him, every part had a use and she was going to make sure nothing went to wast.
Yet seeing the new woman Reema stood once more, a brow raised mis matched eyes looked down at the little tyke. "My name is Reema Zarule. And what was your reasoning for this hunt if I may ask? I checked the jobs in the village nothing asked for a great jaggi, we were the ones to take the request for his followers." She was indeed curios about the entire thing. She was so small yet acted so angry, it was not a good mind set to walk on the battle field with. Sure in a war with humans anger allowed one to go on, but against a monster?

No, you always needed to keep your wits about you. No monster is ever the same. Is thats how she fights than she could get killed one day if she keeps it up.

Dipping her head, Elysia cut open another grunt as a whole row of them exploded, courtesy of the guy with the axe. He'd said something before about it not being a crossbow.. hell no it wasn't a crossbow.. it was a lot more effective than a crossbow for sure. She stood beside the other man as the Great Jaagi turned towards the two of them. Elysia scrunched up her nose, the scent of Jaggi flesh was definitely not pleasant. Swearing colorfully under her breath as she Great Jaggi bit into the man. Shit.. shit shit..

Before she could do anything though, the man grasped the sharp part of the blade with his hand and jabbed it into the Jaggi's head. Well shit.

Wandering over to the Great Jaggi, she dislodged her axe from his head. It should be sharp enough for just.. one more thing. Not trusting the thing was dead, she hefted the switch axe through the creature's neck. Since the blade was not very sharp anymore, it took three swings of the blade before the creature's head rolled down the hill and to the remains of the Kelpi she'd been hunting.

Staring up at the bizzare woman who said something about the monsters making a sacrifice, Elysia snorted impatiently. "Reema?" she set her bloody blade onto her back. "I came out here.. slaughtering a couple Kelpi. Bringing their horns back to the village for medicine. When that jerk decided to eat my kills WHILE i was still cutting them up. You have any idea how long it took me to stalk those Kelpi? I'm not as mobile as other hunters.. and my armor is loud. They made me lose my kills. So i figured.. bring back the head of the leader. And everyone knows, the best way to get a Great Jaagi's attention is to yell at it. They mistake you for one of their kind.. then try to fight you themselves. I've done it before. I might also kind of like to trash talk things as i'm killing them.. Though in hindsight i should probably have sharpened my weapon first." She shrugged casually. "I would have figured it out myself. I've been through rougher scraps than that before on my own, and i've been just fine."

Turning back to the man who'd been bit by the Great Jaagi she winced. "Didn't mean for any of this to happen. I swear. Jeesus.. i really fucked up this time." She stated. "You alright dude?"

"Well, this wasn't exactly how I expected my first hunt off the island to go, but it sure as hell was fun! Suffice to say we're brothers in blood now!", Jacque stated as he picked up his helmet and gingerly sheathed his sword before belting out a slightly pained laugh. With the adrenaline from battle still pumping through his veins and holding most of the pain at bay, the hunter found himself to be positively giddy at the moment. The pint sized newcomer was showing an almost surprising amount of regret despite her previously fiery temper, something Jacque found to be mildly amusing, "Don't worry about it, this sort of stuff comes with the job after all.".

Jacque started to move towards the spot where the head of the Great Jaggi used to be, then clucked his tongue softly in mild annoyance as he found himself met with a stump. The head had rolled down the hill at the lip of the cave. A minor inconvenience, but one that could be quickly remedied. "Huh. Guess i'd better go get that head back back if we're to bring a proper trophy. Don't want the villagers to thing we just happened upon a carcass after all.". He began trudging down the hill without bothering to wait for a response for the others, doing a bit of a self checkup as he went. Though the armor had done its job, his shoulder was throbbing- Jacque knew that after a thorough cleaning of the tooth marks he could expect a nice crop of scabs and more than a few bruises in the morning-, his hand was singing a similar tune, though to remedy that he'd be needing a few stitches and a potion, his head was starting to hurt a bit from the collision with the Great Jaggi's jaw, and his legs cramped from being pinned under the beast. All in all a productive day in the life of a monster hunter.

Jacque rifled through his armor a bit and came away with an herb which quickly found itself being crammed into his mouth. Adrenaline may have been one hell of a drug, but Jacque knew the moment he came down from that high he'd be hitting the dirt real quick without something to heal him up a bit and numb the pain. He powered through the bitter tasting plant as he came face to face with the blank stare of the Great Jaggi's head. Detached from the body the thing almost looked fake; with it's leathery scales, frill, and the outcropping of fur on the top of it's head, it looked as though it had been cobbled together with parts from different creatures to see what suck. Still, bizarre or not the beast was a holy thing, and it deserved to be treated as such. Jacque knelt down and placed his helmet beside the Jaggi's head, "I thank you for honoring me with combat, and for giving me the opportunity to see how my comrades fight. I hope that you final moments were grand." he muttered. Jacque traced his hands along the creature's muzzle, trailing them upwards slightly as he bend down and pressed his forehead against the head of the Jaggi. He stayed like that for a few seconds, almost entering a trance like state before he snapped back to reality.

After donning his helmet once more, Jacque hefted up the head of the Jaggi and trudged back up the hill, taking a tad bit longer than before due to the incline and the additional weight. "Well friends-" He began once reaching the top, "I say now's as good a time as any to take our carves and whatever else we need and get gone before something else shows up. It'd be just our luck if a successful hunt got cut short by something bigger an' meaner arriving on the scene.". His warning given Jacque gently placed the head on the ground and turned expectantly to Elysia, "I trust you're getting a carve or two as well for your efforts, yeah? Might not be the kelbi you wanted, but hey, better than nothing, right?".

The battle was over and Roland sheathed his his gun lance, the immense heat still emitting from it's open barrels. Luckily the need for weapons was over. While his gun lance was a superior beginning weapon, it lacked sturdiness and was known to break quiet easily compared to ones crafted out of bones. He still preferred it and while it might not have been a necessity to use the big shot, it left some impression and surely haunted the last Jaggi away.

Roland saw that Jacque was buried under the great Jaggi but Reema was too quick already, that aside Roland's shaking hands weren't a good support right now. While the recoil didn't dislocate his shoulder or anything like that, which happens way too often with untrained wielders, his hands shaked from the immense power and the continously heat they had to endure. While it seemed that he easily can wield the gun lance and shoot with it, each shot went through him like an earthquake.

Roland stuffed some herbs and some dried meat into his mouth to regain some of his older self as he walked towards the rest of the group.
He could lecture the unknown huntress now but he was way too happy the way the hunt turned out to be. This was exactly how he imagined it, this was a true test if someone was use able or not. A hunt never happens as planed and so people have to improvise, while doing so they also show their real value. While planing gets you too stuck on a predetermined path and so caught you off guard if things do not go accordingly, being too spontaneously also gets you! Roland knew of his weakness and was happy that the team shifted it out. Reema being the quick one which liked to plan ahead, Jacque being the one who can deal a lot of damage and tries to get the grip of the situation and Roland himself, who can get a hit and is medium in fighting speed but tries to engage the monster as soon as possible.

"So?" Roland felt like something had to be said or rather be done!

"What is your name, women!?" it was was a short pause between the name and the women since he first wanted to say lady but as things are....she wasn't too ladylike aside from her height.

Shortly Roland peered towards Jacque as he kneeled beside the severed head of the Jaggi, a shame that he decided to keep it as a trophy, the theeth would have made a nice reminder of the hunt together but it was technically Jacque's kill so he had decision over it.

"And why would you try to angry a Jaggi? Even more unprepared like this? I would have tried to avoid a fight"

He shook his head in disbelieve and also to calm himself, a sharp pain in his arm reminded him that he voluntary let himself bit by one of the Jaggis.

"Anyways since you helped with our hunt you can also earn some carvings"

With a simple gesture Roland pointed towards the dead pack of Jaggi behind him. He was sure Jacque and Reema would take care of the big one, so why let the smaller ones let to waste? A good hide or small theeth can be still used for a decent rug, armour, dagger or ammunition if you happen to use a crossbow or bow. The options were limitless and even if Jaggi scales and hide aren't the most valuable items, they would still fetch some worth and be proof of the killed pack.

Roland went over to the corpses and tried to get as much as possible, even thou the crispy ones didn't promised much aside from their fatty, livery meat.
Some hunter actually eat Jaggi meat but for him it tasted like crap! Wait he would rather eat a bucket full of fresh Aptonoth dung than a single slice of perfectly roasted Jaggi meat! It was more than disgusting to him but he still leaned over the roasted cadavers and breaks out the theeth and claws and additionally scraps some unscathed scales.

He suddenly stood still as he remembered something.

"Jacque! Cut out a bone! If I remember correctly there was a message on the board, saying a little girl pays for any bones we might stumble across, if you boil it in hot water the flesh will just peel off and it will look bright and shiny, otherwise let the Feyline do it, they might help you with it. A bone of a Jaggi this size is not found quiet often."

He hoped he remembered correctly and Jaggi bones aren't normally collected but the Jaggi had a respectable size, so he hoped the girl would make an exception.

Elysia watched as the man with the shoulder wound just brushed her apology off, and wandered down the hill to gather the head. Well that was annoying, and now she probably looked like the worst hunter in the world. Whatever, she could really care less what others thought of her anyways.

Elysia simply nodded to the man said something about cutting into the Jaggi. "Only if you are sure i didn't do more harm than good." she stated dryly, catching the disapproving glance of the other woman.

She sat down on a rock and wiped her blade in the grass to rid it of most of the Jaggi blood before she started to sharpen it with a whetstone. She glanced up at the man with the gun lance. "Elysia." She grunted. "It wasn't as if i had a choice. I had the scent of blood on my blade. At any moment they would have turned on me and tried to kill me. So i figured.. get the jump on them." At the secondary invitation to loot the corpses, Elysia shrugged and stood, deciding that it was probably time to harvest whatever was left. She skinned one of the ones whose head she'd chopped off, setting the skin to dry in the sun as she worked on getting the meat, cutting out the intestines and letting them spill in the dirt. She moved with the expertise of someone who was used to culling and preparing livestock. Bones were wedged between layers of fat and meat, pulling out a daggar, she cut a few slices and inched them out, covered in sinew and blood. The little ones were harder to harvest, and their bones were.. pretty much useless. The claws and teeth however.. certainly going to be at least a little useful. If someone knew how, they could probably use what was in a single Jaagi to feed themselves for at least a day or two. Keeping that in mind, Jaagi was a very gamy, acquired taste. It made better jerky than anything else. Maybe she'd pay someone to prepare it for her.

"I know a guy who used to eat Jaggi eyes." She stated as she pryed teeth out of the severed head of one of the smaller Jaggi.

"Well it seems you can hold out till we get back to the village. Have a few sets that can stitch you back together if you need it." Reema watching the others converse she rose a brow at the woman Elysia, what a strange way to go about. "Seems we won't have trouble luring monsters anymore, just anger the spitfire and they'll be happy to assist us in finishing our jobs."

Her words meant for humour she brought out a large hunting knife. The blade having no shine to attract creatures yet it was sharp to the touch. Moving to the beast she offered a few words before brining it down at the base of the neck, slicing just at the hide she began to move all the way back to the tail. Stopping a few times to get her barring again and continue. Her feather spent more of his time teaching her how to properly skin something as large as a Jaggi than building with their resources. His reasoning being that nothing she be wasted and that she could get the best equipment so long as she can harvest it.
Going at the legs and small arms she managed to rip off the hide before long. Crimson coating her arms yet she didn't mind the hard work. "There, one piece makes it easier to work with, we can cut it later, but hes big. Gonna be a lot of uses." With the inside facing the sun she took a wet stone to sharpen her blade again. Might as well just work fast to get everything and decide who gets what after their away from the kill.
Talons, tail spikes, she was gathering what she could to be taken back to the village. "Don't worry I'm not taking this for myself, best we just get everything out and decide what we do with it later." Hearing about the bones though she went back to the beasts's stubby little arms, cutting it open and bringing out the bone, hand able to grasp around it was longer than her for arm. "Think this will do?"

She found it was calming to work. Speaking about their tales, what they want to do with the kill as they lick their wounds. It was nice, these people were going to be considered her family. She was going to put her life in their hands, so small moments of just work and listening was a welcome pace.
Her bag filling she looked to the others. "I think we should head back to the village. The smell of these kills is bound to attract something to us no matter where we go. Anything else you want to do right now?" Trying not to take over she waited for a response, she was going to need help with the hide. It was a pretty big piece to just fold around and carry out.

Bones, meat, skin, sinew, claws, and teeth, all very useful things to a hunter. Each with it's own particular use both to hunter and civilian alike. Jacque, having claimed his prize, stood by and watched the others work for a moment, taking the opportunity to cram the second herb into his mouth before setting his sights on the large body of the fallen Great Jaggi. Reema had stripped away a good portion of the body parts used, however there was one thing that she'd neglected. "One last thing before we go.", He strode over to the corpse and began tugging a bit at the exposed flesh along the back legs. After wiping away a bit of the steadily coagulating blood Jacque produced his own hunting knife and inserted it into the heel of the Jaggi. He worked quickly, his experience as a fisherman having taught him to slice and firmly and persistently pull at the flesh in one smooth motion to get the best results.

Jacque came away with a long white strip of sinew, the achilles of the Great Jaggi, and draped it over his arm before he repeated the process with the other leg. Sinew was one of the many things that hunters that used melee weapons overlooked, however Jacque knew well how useful the stuff was. Tough and resilient, and yet brilliantly elastic, monster sinew made for a brilliant binding tool. Jacque had even heard rumors that monster sinew even saw use as bow strings for hunters that preferred ranged weaponry, although he'd yet to find a bow user to ask if it was true or not.

His final prize collected, Jacque turned to the other three hunters and beamed at them. The moment they got back he was certain that everyone would probably tend to their weapons and any wounds that they had, he was no exception. But there was no way in hell that he would allow them to end their day with just that. "When get get back and finish cleaning and patching ourselves and our gear up, I say we celebrate. Food and drinks on !" he barked. With the way Jacque spoke it sounded as if he didn't even remotely entertain the idea that the others might have preferred to rest. With him it was work hard, celebrate harder, and rest when you no longer had the strength to physically move. He picked up the Jaggi's head and tucked it under his arm before moving to help Reema with the hide. About halfway through lifting it, Jacque turned to Elysia and nodded to her, "Elysia, right? I trust you're joining us on the festivities, yeah? We missed you at the meet n' greet yesterday so today seems as good a time as any for us to get to know you. Besides, I want to see if you can party as hard as you fight!".

Elysia made a smug face at the woman. "har-de-har." She finished harvesting the Jaggi with a smooth flick of her blade, wiping the blood on the grass. She left the creature's head laying in the dirt. Any other time she would have considered maybe taking it, burying it in the ground for a couple of months and then pulling it out after nature had cleaned it off. But it wasn't a very impressive skull, and she'd rather keep something bigger.

Staring at the stubby little bone the other woman pulled out, Elysia raised an eyebrow. "Don't you think you should take one of the slightly bigger bones? Like one of the ones from the thigh? Maybe you should take its pelvis." She snorted, laughing faintly at her own joke.

Elysia sheathed her knife smoothly, hefting her switch axe onto her back. She'd have to finish sharpening the thing somewhere else, where the scent of monster blood wasn't going to attract anything. Though she was half tempted to stay out a bit longer just to see what the scent of Jaggi blood attracted, she wasn't keen on fighting whatever that creature would be. Which would likely happen. "I think i'd like to go back to the village and pretend like none of this happened." she stated.

Glancing up at the man who had just cut out the sinew from the Greater Jaggi, Elysia smirked. "You wish you could party as hard as I do." She sauntered over to him, flicking a finger over towards the three hunters. "What about you all? Going to share your names or am i going to have to give you weird nicknames?"

Roland used some stripes of the Jaggi hide as binding material to form two decent packages consisting of 5 hides. They were huge but their weight was rather normal and so he tucked them left and right on his bagpack, making him look like a smaller version of a packing Aptonoth. He left the skinned smaller ones alone after he also put some claws almond theeth into his bagpack, he denied the flesh for obvious reasons and left it for others to harvest.

"Sure we celebrate! A small but surprisingly sucessful hunt and additionally our first one together! If that isn't reason enough, then what is?"

He turned to Elysian "My name is Roland! Might as well give me a nickname but do not expect me to listen to it."

Finally he answered Reema's question if they still wanted to do something. Roland didn't shared his gunlance and his hunting knive could wait but the loot would definitely attract other wild beasts. It wasn't a genuine idea to stay.

"Mhhh let's see what we can harvest on our way back, we may find some herbs, mushrooms and maybe even ore veins but I wouldn't go scouting. Sure we could leave the hides, claws and theeth but the bones, the head and the flesh will be undoubted targeted by other predators. If we have an outpost around here, I think we could place the stuff there for the village to collect it later on but such a small prey like a Jaggi wouldn't be worth it unless we stumble across it while we hunt something bigger. It for myself could also find my peace if you still insits on scouting some more but do not expect full agility from me!"

Reema nodding in approval at the answers began to head out, her own bags full feeling like a reluctant boulder has been placed inside. Yet that still only caused a smile to be brought from her lips. It meant that they had a good hunt. "I say celebration for someone's first hunt together is a grand idea."

Moga Village

It was mid evening by the time the crew had gotten back. Villagers greeting the hunters with enthusiasm, shouts of pride when they saw that the group wasted no time in taking down a large monster. One of the fishermen told them that there was a tanning station in the guild that was made for large cuts of hide like the one draped over their backs. A bit of information that Reema herself was more than happy for.

Entering the guild she began to unload. The woman at the desk giddy when she saw them. "Oh wow, you guys seem to know whats up. Run out to the woods and show those monsters you mean business!" Raising a brow at the woman Reema half heartedly nodded, "yes, he was proud and he was strong. A great hunt indeed." She was more than tempted to correct the woman in explaining that it was not planned, yet held her tonge. She didn't want to seem ill professional.

Hanging up the hide and unloading the claws, scales and bones Reema began to take off her Armour, a loose black undershirt and farmer's pants beneath. Showing a few more scars and muscle that was needed for her job. From behind at first glance she looked like a man to those who did not know her.
Taking a seat she began to work, cleaning out the meats, blood and gore from the prizes they were going to need. She never left a kill just sitting, it was rude and she still had time before night fall. She could already imagine the hearty yells and laughter given tonight from the halls.

Jacque found himself resisting the urge to jokingly waggle is eyebrows at Reema after catching Elysia's comment about the Jaggi bones. The only thing that kept him from doing so, was the fact that he was almost certain that the huntress would leave him with even more injuries than those he already sported. It seemed as though Elysia was at least entertaining the possibility of partying with everyone, and for that Jacque was glad. He laughed, shoulders and braids bouncing up and down with the action as Elysia offered her ultimatum regarding everyone's names "While I wouldn't be completely adversed to an odd nickname, m'name's Jacque. It's nice to meet you.". Jacque didn't really have much time to get much further than his name as the others got ready to ship out, "We can get more properly acquainted later tonight, for now it seems that the others are ready to go."
--

Jacque let out a tired but content sigh as he entered his room and began to shed his armor. After getting back to the village he'd chosen to split off from the others to run a few errands. The first and most obvious choice was to cash in for his part of the pay for the jaggi extermination, his proof of success being the head of the Great Jaggi tucked beneath his arm. Being that he'd done the mission as part of a group he received only a portion of the payment. A quick trip to the local weaponsmith to sell the sinew he'd collected netted the hunter a bit more zenny, enough so that he could visit a doctor for his wounds and make good on his promise to pay for food and drink for his comrades. He was a bit upset when he realized that he likely wouldn't have enough to buy a good whetstone to replace the one he'd brought from home that was steadily being whittled to nothing, or to purchase the supplies necessary to get a few potions for later use, but he figured he might be able to borrow a stone from one of the others at least for the night and simply go foraging for more herbs tomorrow.

Following the retrieval of his payment Jacque visited the local doctor's office, where after parting with a handful of zenny and the story of how he got the injury Jacque received a bit of salve and bandaging for his hand and shoulder, as well as a solid tongue lashing from the doctor on duty about being more careful.

Now, back in his room, Jacque pried himself free of the top half of his amor, inspecting both it and his sword for any sort of defects or damage as he cleaned them off. A once over of the spot where the Jaggi had bitten down on him revealed that, although the creature's teeth had failed to fully punch through, it had dented the metal in that particular spot a bit. Not an immediate concern for the moment, but definitely something for him to fix the very moment he had the cash. His sword, although not damaged, had lost a bit of sharpness. Jacque rooted around in his bag for a bit before coming away with a whetstone that looked due to crumble at any moment. And crumble it indeed did after a few strokes. Jacque sighed through his nose and nodded his head in resignation, "S'about right for my luck." he said to no one in particular as he stood and hefted the weapon onto his shoulder. Not quite in the mood to figure out who lived in what room Jacque simply poked his head out of the doorway to his own room and half shouted to anyone that may have been in range, "Anyone got a whetstone they're willing to share? Mine kind of disintegrated!".

Hearing a voice booming down the hall Reema looked up, a knife still in hand and skin stained a dark pink from the blood she grabbed a towel, cleaning off her arms as she stood. Might as well help the guy, couldn't afford to have their tank fall apart on them during a hunt. That would be a sheer nightmare.
"Hold on a sec Jacque, I got one." Walking down the halls hands in her loose pockets she felt herself feeling strange. Maybe it was the new area and she wore her armour everywhere or maybe it was the sea air but each step was uneasy. Shrugging her shoulders she brushed the thought away. They just came back from a hunt thats all.
"Well than seems you got hurt the most. You holding together?" She couldn't help but notice the wound, first time she seen it since its not buried under armour. Her own arms showing a few scratches and bite marks in the joints where her armour was. Yet that was nothing compared to the wounds on her comrades shoulder.
Going to her door she opened it to the room. Rummaging through her bag to find the wetstone that was given to her last night. Holding it out to the male she tilted her head. "By the way, anything you wanted from the kill aside from the head? I'm cleaning everything off it right now, don't want anything to rot."

Elysia unpacked the little bit she had salvaged from the battle with the Jaggi. She took her whetstone to her switch axe again, mindlessly sharpening what she knew couldn't be sharpened any further. It kept her mind off of having failed her quest. She'd come back with only one set of Kelpi Horns. Sure, she'd taken down a few Jaggi and some of the people in the village had celebrated her and the others for their accomplishments. However, when she returned to the woman to tell her she'd failed the quest.. the stare she'd received. A disapproving mother's glare.. only making her feel worse. She placed her switch axe on the ground, running her hands through her short hair and then tugging on it in frustration. She'd come here to prove herself as a hunter.. and the first thing she did was fail. She could almost hear Roy again, telling her she was too small, and though she could try, she'd never make a good hunter. Elysia brooded for a moment, sitting on the side of her bed while she verbally assaulted herself for being a dumbass.

What a way to start off your career as a hunter, you big idiot.

Frustrated with her internal punishing voice, Elysia started peeling armor from her body. Piece by piece, her body grew lighter and smaller. It was almost unnerving that such a delicate lady could wear the heavy armor, much less run around in it and swing a switch axe. She set the armor on the small table, and then jumped as she heard a voice shouting down the hallway. Something about borrowing a whetstone. Hefting her stone into her hands, she sauntered across the floor, peering in the door to see Jacque... and some other guy? No.. wait.. that was the girl from before.. the other female huntress.. the one who still hadn't introduced herself. Right. Weird nickname time.. Fluffles. Fluffles? Ehhh.. why not?

Well, it seemed that 'Fluffles' had come before her. Elysia jammed her whetstone into her pocket, her eyes lingering on Jaque's wrapped wound and then focusing on the scratches and bites on 'Fluffles' arms. She herself had a bite mark, where the Jaggi she'd punched in the face, and a few scratches. But she felt like her wounds were much less impressive and noticeable than both 'Fluffles' and Jaque's wounds.

Then her eyes fluttered to his armor and she stared at the dent. She whistled. "Nice dent you have there." she commented. "It's not as bad as it looks though, tell you what. Because its my fault you got bit in the first place... let me take care of this for you." She hefted the chest armor into her hands with a grunt. The Chest piece almost seemed bigger than she was. Yet she was holding it without struggling. "I wonder if they will let me use their forge..." she murmured, thinking out loud for a moment before shaking her head. "I have a little bit of Zenny from the trip. I got a free ride over here thanks to my mentor. Should be enough to cover the repairs."

Jacque flashed what was quickly becoming his trademark grin at Reema's inquiry about his well being, "I think i'll live. A bit of rest, a lot of ice, maybe a few drinks, and i'll be good to go." he said with a chuckle. His boisterous demeanor did well to hide the fact that his injuries were actually more than a little painful now that his adrenaline had worn off. The grey cotton shirt did well to hide the swelling and massive bluish black bruises that had formed on his right pectoral, shoulder, and trapezius, although it could do little to hide the bruising as it crept up his collar bone. Adding to that was the ovular ring of teeth marks that showed up on his skin, each little mark a dark shade of red were blood had leaked from bursted vessels but had pooled under unbroken skin. He refused to let the others know about the pain for the time being. It was nothing worth bringing up at the moment, perhaps it would be when the others wanted to hunt something and it could risk someone's life, but tonight? It would only serve as a risk of bringing the celebration down.

He accepted the stone graciously and began to sharpen his sword, pausing momentarily to consider whether or not he needed anything from the kill, "The head will do just fine for me, thanks. You can have the rest of my share of the kill since you've got Jaggi equipment. Fair trade for letting me use your stone.".

He stifled a snort of laughter as he watched Elysia picked up the large chest piece. Though the young woman held it with no difficulty there was something uniquely amusing to him when it came to watching feats of strength preformed by something smaller than oneself. He was half tempted to ask her if she wanted to try the chest piece on, if only to sate his curiosity regarding how comical it might look to see someone try and fit into armor built for a person more than a head taller. He decided against it, partially because he feared she might catch on and take offense, and partially because she was offering him a service despite holding no obligations to do so.

With the diminutive huntress looking to make amends for what transpired earlier Jacque couldn't find it in him to turn her offer down, "Far be it from me to turn down your hospitality. But I insist that i'll have to pay you back for it at some point. I won't take no for an answer!" Jacque said with another chuckle. The laughter was cut off by a soft choked noise as he leaned a bit too far forward too quickly and the handle of his sword pressed into his shoulder. The dull throbbing sensation flared intensely for a split second, his jaw bulged a bit as he grit his teeth to keep from making another sound. He corrected his position and continued working through the pain, trying to play off the incident as him simply overreaching. "I really gotta learn to focus on what's in front of me. Gonna lose a finger to a sword one of these days." Jacque half joked before he tossed the whetstone back to Reema, "Good as new, thanks again for letting me use your stone.".

Finally back at the guild. The time during their trip back Roland felt a pressure building from his arm where the Jaggi has bitten him. He seriously doubted that the arm was broken but it would form a nice hematome. He decided to ignore the pain since the tight armour would keep the swelling in chek.

As they finally he was suprised by how the villagers greeted and cheered at them. Why the others handled it professionally, Roland was only able to grin stupidly as he waved his right hand which he pressed firmly against his chest, little by little.
It felt wrong!

Luckily he soon found distraction as he separated the slaughtered prey. While Reema went to the tanning station with the hidew, Roland decided to scrap off the theeth, claws and bones. Normally people would bury it aside some ant but that would take several days, Roland borrowed some salt from the Feyline kitchen and cooked the bones with the salt over the fire. He didn't heat them to boiling temperature since that would make the bone less elastic and more breakable. While the bones and claws slowly lost the kastriert parts of their meat Roland changed.

He headed towards his room and finally got rid off his armour, as soon as he removed his arm guard a dull pain spread over his arm. A nasty blue and black bruise was revealed and Roland's face changed into worry. He grabbed a bowel and filled it with water. He shoved the rest of the herbs he left over from the hunt into his mouth and spit the roughly chewed substance into the bowel, afterwards he added some bandages and let them soak with the brood of water and herb. As the bandages soaked Roland used his hunting knive and produced produced a small cut on his swollen arm, blood was flowing quickly out of the wound but also slowed down quickly after, the dull pain shortly rose to a sharp one but then toned down as quickly. Bandaging the arm with first some of the soaked bandages armed then some dry ones he left the room. He was armed simple with his yellow tunic and his leather pants, the gun lance still on his back and a pouch in his hand.

He nearly stumbled over Elysian as he opened his door.

"Woah!" he nearly yelled out of suprise, this way it came rather muffld. Weirdly he looked after her as he saw her carrying a chest piece way too big for her.

Roland opened his mouth for a witty comment but closed it directly afterwards as he remembered that he would probably provoke a triad of swearing this way. So he just sat down on the table and tried to repair his hunting knive as well ands his gunlance.

He placed down the pouch and took a Wheatstone out of it, he first sharpened his knive since the gunlance would need more than simple sharpening, it would need maintaining. Quickly he was finished with his knive and send went towards his gunlance, quickly he glanced around.

"Uhh i might need some help with this!" He uttered to no one in particular but hoped that someone would offer his help.

"Nothing heavy or complicated, just need someone to chek the igniter unit while in pull the trigger."

Elysia raised an eyebrow. "Well i wont take yes for an answer, so i guess we will have to fight for it." her eyes seemed to dance with a mischievous light. Hearing him start to cough as he jabbed the sword into his shoulder, Elysia felt a secondary twinge of guilt.

Damn it Elysia.. you suck! Look what you've done!

She needed to get the hell out of here before she caused him more trouble or something. So she made a noise like a horse snorting and backed up into the hallway. The chest piece really had a nice dent in it, and some of Jaque's blood and the blood of the Jaggi was staining the surface. Even though it looked fairly.... busted, it wouldn't be that difficult of a repair. A little water to remove the blood, heat it up for a bit, use a hammer to bend the dent back out. Add a bit more more materials to make sure it didn't lose its strength, then polish it with oil or grease, letting it sit overnight. Taking another step back, she nearly bumped into Roland.

"Sorry." she murmured, turning to take Jaque's chest piece to the forge.

And then Roland asked for help, saying something about an igniter unit or whatever. She set the armor she'd been carrying against the wall, next to Jaque's open door. Then she wandered over to the guy and surveyed his Gunlance. "You made sure it's not going to explode in my face, right?" She asked cooly. Since she had worked in a forge for most of her life, she knew exactly where the igniter was located. However, she was hesitant to stick her face anywhere near the thing. Roy was an experienced blacksmith, with years and years of training.. but.. apparently even blacksmiths made mistakes.

He'd been looking in the end of a Gunlance, telling her to pull the trigger while he took a look at the igniter. And when she did, the Gunlance had exploded with hot fire, shooting a blast right into Roy's face. She would never forget the stench of burning flesh as her mentor had just.. collapsed. Shaking the thought of his charred, nearly skeletal face away, Elysia tried to look nonchalant about helping Roland with his Gunlance.

By the rising his eyebrow Roland's showed some serious confusion. She surely acted like she had seen a gunlance before but the way she acted during their hunt indicated that she had no idea how it worked. He just decided to let it rest for a while, she felt bad for Jacque since he got hurt during the hun, not life threatening but hindering.

Anyways to her snappy answer he just pushed the stock forward into the shooting mechanism and so opened the innards of the gunlance. The gaschamber stood now wide open and so unable to move from their places, they rested firmly on a spiral around the barrel. Small clouds of ashes rose from the weapon as the sudden movement set some particles free.

Roland whistled it away.

It was a swift, trained movement, a sign that he repeated this process over and over and over.

His hands moved over the weapon and described several parts of it.
"...When i pull the trigger the shell or the gaschamber moves over the spiral on the shaft of the weapon towards the igniter. By pulling the second trigger the igniter sparks the sudden released gas of the chamber and so causes an explosion. Now if I hold both, the air would be filtered through all three chambers, leaving an highly explosive gas, way more potent than a normal shot. It does need some time and the strain on the weapon is high but it can knock out a giant buffalo with a single shot!"

He used the trigger and looked over to Elysia.

"Hmpf, you see something? A spark? Or anything lighting up?"

He repeated to pull the trigger several times to make sure that the women would definitely see something...or maybe nothing.

"You know I wouldn't have thought you knew something about this" he rather muttered to himself than to Elysia in particular.

Shaking her head at the words Reema watched Jacque work with his greatsword. It was a beauty indeed. "Few drinks will only make you forget about the pain. Tell me if it gets worse aright? Last thing we need is to find out that there was an infection in that Jaggi's mouth." Shes seen injuries like that happen. One of her father's team mates had to give up his life of hunting all because of one small scratch that turned into an infection. The poor soul had to remove his entire arm and he never was the same since.

"Thanks for offering than. Faster I earn my armour is the faster I'll hate it." Her own father telling her that she had to earn her own armour took away the ones that he made her. Leaving her with a normal steel plate set and her jaggi blades that meant so much to her. She understood his reasoning, never take what you have for granted. But it did not make the choice any less annoying.

Elysia moving the armour behind her she was about to go help Roland only for the smaller woman to beat her to it. Seems she knew more what she was doing anyway. Ears craned to listen at the explanation she found herself oddly fascinated by the gun lance. "Powerful weapon, must feel like your holding the cannon of a ship. Do you mind sharing it's story?"
Her hands reached for her blades, letting them sit on her lap as they hummed with every touch. She looked to care more about them than her own life at times. And every since shes made them, shes found herself loving to hear the stories of others. "These were made from the same Jaggi that almost took my face as a child. What a battle that was, in his own den the pack came out of hiding and took to attacking the group we were in. We always knew which one did it cause he had this spine on his tail that was tilted ever so slightly off." Leaning her head back she began to memorize that day, the shouted words and chaos as hunters and non hunters were trying to keep each other alive in the fight.
"father said this is it, this is where you become a hunter. Handed me a sword and went right for him. He got me good, but I got him better" Looking back to the massive creations around she rose a brow. "So, whats this one's tale if I may ask."

Elysia watched as Roland explained to her how exactly his Gunlance worked. She'd never been allowed to forge a Gunlance, the weapon was considered 'for advanced blacksmiths only.' So hearing this explanation of how this thing worked was actually rather intriguing.

Elysia wished she had known this sooner. Maybe if she had known exactly how the thing worked, she wouldn't have blown her mentor's face off. Roy had explained to her exact instructions of what to do to be sure it didn't go off.. she'd pressed it..and then Roy was dead. She'd always thought it was her fault that Roy was dead.. and the more Roland talked about the weapon, the more uncomfortable Elysia became. She wasn't about to admit this to him, but his weapon scared the shit out of her. She simply didn't trust a weapon that could projectile vomit fire into things.

Elysia hesitated before looking at the igniter. Nothing at first.. nothing.. and then a spark. She swore colorfully, leaping away as if it bit her. "Hell no. I'm not putting my face anywhere near that thing anymore!" She stated, fists clenched at her side. "I've had a bad experience with one of these things before... alright? Let's leave it at that." Fear danced behind her eyes, but she covered it by stiffening her shoulders and narrowing her eyes, making it seem like she was more angry than afraid.

If they found out she was afraid of Roland's Gunlance? What would they think? How could she be a good hunter if she was afraid of one of the weapons used by them? How could she ever expect to get the respect she wanted if she couldn't stop her legs from shaking?

Jacque nodded curtly after Reema asked him to keep her clued in if his injuries took a turn for the worst, this was followed by a small snort of laughter at her remark about her armor. It did his heart good to know that the others were just as willing to watch out for each other was they were themselves. He gingerly placed leaned his sword against the trunk that housed the rest of his belongings and rolled his neck to relieve the stiffness that had taken root while he was leaned over his weapon. No sooner than he'd began to try to work out a kink near the base of his skull did he hear Elysia raising almighty Cain about keeping something away from her.

The hunter's brows shot up in surprise, he rolled off of his bed and existed his room to see what the fuss was about. He was treated to the sight of Roland and Reema hunched over the former's gunlance, and Elysia standing a good distance away looking all the world as though she was ready to punch someone. Though he'd only known her for a few hours at best Jacque was beginning to think the diminutive huntress was simply combative regardless of her surroundings. Still, there was something a bit off about her; he could see that her breathing was a bit irregular, her posture just a bit too rigid and tense, almost as though she was forcing herself to appear angry. Jacque subconsciously reached up and began to tug at one of his braids, a habit he'd formed many years back that he tended to do when something perplexed him.

He didn't dwell on it long however, as he wanted avoid rising tensions among the newly formed group. He briefly considered the best way to cut in before he got an idea. The hunter cleared his throat and lightly knocked on the door frame "You know, you really ought to be more careful with your wording.". Jacque plastered on a mockingly suggestive smirk, "Might give folks the wrong idea if they hear a woman yelling 'I'm not putting my face anywhere near that thing anymore' from inside of a guy's room." he all but purred, adding with his statement a brief eyebrow wiggle. This sort of humor wasn't typically Jacque's sort of specialty, but it was the first thing that came to mind when he considered how to lighten the mood. With any luck it would disarm them all before something started.
