Y'know, I kinda hate Tantalus/Xerneas. Sometimes I want to drop them into a giant blender. That would solve a lot of problems.

Actually, Wells has a bit of experience working with giant blenders. They often break because GMs put characters into them, so he wouldn't recommend it.

But he's also interesting and great for plot, so I guess I'll postpone that giant blender boss battle.

Oh, it will definitely happen. Along with a giant cheese grater, mortar, and pistle. The planet will be the mortar, and Rebeca will be the pistle.

These are the rules for a battle to qualify as a level-up:

#1 Two or more players must be directly involved in role-playing the battle. The GM counts as a player.

#2 The avatar or Pokemon to earn a level must have used at least one Pokemon move with the intent to harm or kill an enemy, or to defend itself or an ally.

#3 An enemy must have used at least one Pokemon move with the intent to harm or kill somebody on the avatar or Pokemon's side.

#4 A battle is over when every member of one side is fainted, killed, surrenders, runs away, or is otherwise unable to continue battling.

#5 A level is awarded to each member of the winning side, whether or not they knocked anything out, and whether or not they are conscious at the end of the battle.

The mass battle against the Alliance will count, but it's technically not quite over yet.

@Zanavy so, if I understand this correctly, if I HADN'T had Mihkail use Smack Down, then that might not have qualified as a technical battle?

Additionally, since at this point almost everyone has seen her naked, I've updated Rebeca's CS with a full list of scars. Once this whole fiasco has blown over, I'll update it again with any new ones that she has collected.

@Thundercrash I'm pretty certain that being charged repeatedly first would qualify as a Horn Attack, especially since most Pokémon don't show any visual changes while doing so. Having him charge to cause greivous bodily harm without being a move is like having a Flareon breathing fire to cause greivous bodily harm without specifically calling it Ember or Flamethrower on page :P

@Ardent Dawn The charging could possibly be argued, but at any rate the Smack Down would have sealed it.

The next question would be if Xerneas (formerly Tantalus) just gains the one level, or does his battle against Mihkail count seperately from the Alliance battle, thereby gaining a total of two levels once it's all over?

@Thundercrash I'm inclined to say that if you want to cause damage on the same scale as an actual move would, it would be cheating to not call it one. It wasn't going to be a nudge in the ribs or a gentle shove :P

I was about to ask something, but it looks like Thunder already answered it. I'm going to add an additional rule that two or more players must be involved in role-playing the battle. The GM counts as a player. I never expected any of you to try to cheat by having twenty friendly battles between your avatar and his/her Pokemon, but this rule is just there to prevent leveling-up by godmodding and make sure everyone has a fair chance to fight for their levels.

@Zanavy Which also means we can have badass training montages for Rule of Cool without worrying about breaking the system. I support this entirely :P

In the news, that's probably my first and only level up through battle. I much prefer narrative combat, so i'll stick to that for the most part regardless. Also, since I have no idea how to handle learning a new move IC, mind if I chalk it up to creative licease? =P
