Even though the pressure of the King's heavy presence would have brought many weak fae to their knees, Lositay remained standing and kept a blank look. "There was also a little girl with him. I believe she was human and very young. I have nothing more of his court to share. If that's all you required, I ask to be dismissed." Lositay was very angry at the situation, but testing Falk was a quick way to pain and regret. Their powers were simply to far apart. Lost bowed his head with his request for dismissal.

Lyra smiled. "Yes Ba-Ba," she agreed and stepped back with her small hands on her small hips. "No peeking!" she ordered, waiting for him to cover his eyes and start counting. Once he started the child took off like the wind, the echo of her running feet fading as she searched for a place to hide.
She thought about the throne room and headed there first, but there were too many icky people in there. Then she thought about the kitchen but then thought Ba-Ba would be sure to look there first since that was where the cakes were. She scurried towards her room but at the last moment turned and ran to Ba-Ba's room. If anyone had asked she would have told them Ba-Ba wouldn't have thought to look for her there, but really it was the pull of her curiosity over the mirror that lead her there.

Lyra ran inside, forgetting to shut the door all the way, and looked around fast for a good hiding spot. She dove into his bed, hiding under some pillows. The package with the pretty mirror was beside his bed on the table. Lyra peeked out from her hiding spot, listening carefully for Ba-Ba's footsteps. Her eyes strayed to the package, but she stayed put. It was really hard.

Fears finishes his counting before turning and lightly starting his search. He starts with the throne room, thinking that the small one would try to hide behind his throne. Finding her not there he heads toward the rooms, his steps silent and measured. As he walks he thinks, his thoughts going back to the mirror. He wondered why all of the sudden he is receiving tokens from the king. Then his thoughts go to the servant who had delivered it and he stops the bad feeling returning. What if...what if he was only sent to spy.. Fears continues walking now thinking of what he could do to protect his small one. He would keep her inside. She should be used to it around this time of year anyway, so she shouldn't go sneaking off. He would also make sure that visitors are kept outside the castle so he would go and meet them outside and discuss whatever matters were of concern.

The open door to his bedroom gets him out of his thoughts and he chuckles. Clever beastie. He lightly steps into his room and begins looking around for the small one.

Falk reclined back in the throne, his lips a taunt line. "As you will, Born of Ashes. . ." He paused looking to the satyr as the red Irish human stood. Moving with the grace of the gently born she held in her hands a bone flute. It was a delicate instrument carved with flowers and vines. Women sprung out of theses their hair flowing about the holes in the flue. Offering the gift and bounty to Lost, the woman bows deeply. "A gift for your services. It will produce sounds that rival the very beauty of the night." Falk nodded, his face relaxing as the Fae in the hall breathed a collective sigh of relief and amusement.

Lost looked up and watched as the red woman came to him with a gift. He graciously took the flute and stared down at it in his hands for a moment. He didn't doubt what she said in the least. The flute's beauty was immaculate. Lost was afraid to look up again. Not because of the King or anyone else, but because his eyes were beginning to water. He didn't want to show this disgraceful state to anyone.

What are you doing to me Falk?

With a quick burst of courage, before a tear could fall, he looked back up to Falk. "Thank you, my Lord." With that he turned around and walked as nobly as he could hide, out of the court.

Once out of sight of the direct sight of the courts residents, he stumbled to a tree not a hundred yards away from the court. He sat beneath it as a tear managed to flow. He looked at the flute again. So is this truly a reward or just you trying to buy back another tool. Lost decided to try out this magnificent instrument.

Falk stared into the pool, his brows knit in thought. All Fae were tools of one another. The difference was the degree of care the higher kept the lower in. He made sure his fae had all they required, his kingdom was strong and well defended. A thousand years and few complaints. Perhaps he had become more callus in later years but only due to the plans he had laid eons ago raising their heads. Many of the Fae agree, 'Leave the large picture to the King, let us play our small part with out own plans.' He had always twisted those plans to his whim. Banishing the thought line from his head, he focus on the tidbit that Lositay brought him. A girl child, a tool. One linked to summer, one that would fall in nicely with his plan. His eyes narrowed as a predatory smile on his face.

Aisling slipped from the hall, her Lord had sent her forth to Summer. In her hands a ball of pearly golden hide. Aisling paused as her heard the fairest of music, looking to the source she smiled. How she longed to stay and watch but she would walk now, and go to the Hall of the Summer King. To grant gift from human to human as her Lord did command. What was his plan? Why did a girl child interest him so?

Lost saw as the red head left the court and went on her way. He continued to play anyways until his song was finished. Born of Ashes. What has he ordered you to do now? You're not going to bother Phyre more. That's just rude. Lost got up and decided to investigate. Leaping silently from tree to tree it wasn't hard to hide from humans. Nonetheless he was still careful. Mistakes came with confidence. Lost noticed she was on the way towards the Summer realm. She held something odd again. It did look pretty from what he saw. Lost had to be careful with his next moves. It was plausible that Falk was having him watched, and there were still many fae under his command that could escape Lost's senses.

He decided speaking with the human shouldn't be that bad. He would be merely protecting her on her treck. "Born of Ashes. I'd like to speak with you." Lost had jumped down from trees and caught up to her on the ground. He began walking with her, as she directed the path. "Lord Falk called you that, but I was wondering if there was a different name you preferred?" He wasn't looking for her real name, just a simple name other than human or 'born of ashes'. "I was also hoping you knew the King better than I. Do you know any of his plan? I suppose I wonder more, why did he use my name? I would have told him everything if he just asked. Please share your thoughts with me."

Bowing her head, her red hair falling across her face. "I am Born of Ashes, as My Lord deemed." What did this Fae want? Why so many questions? A small smile taunted her lips. A idea formed. "As for the King using your name. All I know is that he is tense. But what have you to trade for my knowledge of his plan?" She raises a elegant brow, green eyes searching his openly. A bold act for a human servant. "It the Fae realm," Aisling points out. "And I do want for much."

Lyra giggled as she heard footsteps enter. The giggle was muffled but could still be heard by even those without keen ears. The pillows moved as she shifted in her hiding spot. Once Feoras uncovered her she giggled loudly and bounced into his lap, hugging him. "You are the best seeker Ba-Ba!" she claimed.
After some moments her eyes wandered to the pretty mirror. "Ba-Ba? Can I play with the pretty mirror? Please?"
The five year old turned on all of her cuteness. Ba-Ba sometimes let her do what she wanted when she was really really cute. She reached up to pet his ears. She always seemed fascinated by how his ears were different from her own, pointed instead of curved.

Lyra laid her head on his chest, looking up at him with adoring eyes. "I love you Ba-Ba," she said.
There was no scheme behind these words. She said them often to Feoras because they were true. It was the purest and most beautiful form of love : the love of a child.

"Haha, I have nothing for you except a pleasant song. If you were expecting to get a favor from me you'll get no such luck. I was merely curious about what would make our King impatient." Lost thought about it for a moment. He didn't actually want to know that badly. He already knew that Falk was interested in the girl. Whatever his interest, it was enough to make him impatient as well. Any specific knowledge would be nice, but he doubted even Born of Ashes knew. It was just a gamble he wasn't willing to bet much on. "I suppose if you had a specific task for me in mind, I might be willing to negotiate."

Feoras smiles at his small pet and lightly boops her nose. "And you are very good at hiding" He watches her eyes wander over to the mirror and knows exactly what question was coming up. She unleashed the full spectrum of cuteness as she asked and he managed to shake his head. "not this time small one, I want to be sure that it is safe. wouldn't want anything happening to you" He let her pet his ears as she did occasionally. Wondering if she would be a summer born like himself later on. Though, unlike her he was raised from an infant here where she was brought at an older age. Only time would tell. Then she utters some words that transports him to another time. A time when he thought he could be with a human. She had said those same three words. "I adore you small one" The best he could do since he really felt more possessive then anything. Like a child with a favorite toy, though he treated her more like a pet then some inanimate object. A pet that he really took extremely good care of, and would be really crushed if anything happened to her.

Just as Songstress was about to answer, she heard an unfamiliar voice call from outside the door, she was certain it had to be the King. This was confirmed when Lyra said Ba-Ba and took off, Nikko rolling off her lap. Giggling a little, she helped the salamander back into a standing position, "That was certainly a little unexpected, huh?" she said, offering Nikko a smile. She turned her head to the door, barely getting a glimpse of the King before he had gone off to play hide and seek with Lyra. By this point, Songstress knew the little girl was the King's favored human, all others came second. She simply shrugged and returned to her drink, she wouldn't interrupt them, after all, Lyra had been searching for the King for awhile. She could wait until their game was over, it wasn't like she was in a big rush to go anywhere, she had no idea where she would go anyways. Though she was confined to the room, she could hardly say she was lonely, Nikko was there after all. Apparently the salamander had grown on the woman, whether that had been the King's intention or not no longer mattered. She returned to humming once again, pausing now and then to sip her drink before she'd continue.

Feoras watches as Lyra slowly falls asleep. He gives a small smile before gently picking her up and taking her to her room. He gently laid her down in her bed and tucks her in. He softly closes the door and then heads back to the room with the woman he saved. He gently knocks on the door before entering. "Hello" he leans in the doorway and studies her.
Nikki sees this look and teleports out of there.

Aisling hesitated. Something from him would be useful, but what would be the price? She knew there would be no good if this Fae sought to turn her upon Falk or if she fell indebted to Lost. It was jut the game of the Fae. Quid pro qou. Green eyes glanced away as she continued on her way. Reluctant to ask, reluctant to go. She wished to seek out the girl and give her the gift as she had been bid. Well, in all seriousness, ordred would be a better term. Ordered with name and impatient tap. Something Falk rarely did. "What have I to offer? I am but a servant and a human. My music is poor to your ears and my life a petty thing."

Songstress had just set her drink down when she heard the knock, her eyes flickering to the door in an instant. Though it had been brief before, she recalled the figure who now stood in the doorway, it was the King. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Nikko vanish, she wondered if he did that because he wasn't supposed to be around? Either way, the King was now addressing her, that must mean the game of hide and seek had come to an end already. She stood from the bed and made her way to him as gracefully as she could, unsure of how to approach a being of his stature without being insulting. She stopped several feet from him and made a bow, something she had never done before either, "Your Majesty, I wish to thank you for saving my life earlier. Had you not done so, I'm afraid I might have perished and not have been able to see this elegant room, or to taste such delicious food and drink. I was ready to die when you found me, but your voice...it...I can't put it into words. It sparked me to fight. That's the best way I can describe it." she told him. She had remained bowing before him as she spoke, having enough sense not to straighten up until told to. She had to admit, while the King was a fascinating creature, he was also intimidating as well. Or rather, he would have been if she were sane, but she wasn't, and she didn't feel the least bit intimidated by him. However, she did know he deserved her respect, and her respect is what he had already. Along with her life.

Feoras tilted his head and studied her as she spoke. He then gestured for her to straighten as he walked into the room, closing the door behind him. "Very kind words. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the food and drink" he stopped right in front of her. "Now if you would give me your name" the tone of his voice was soft as if he wasn't quite sure she would cooperate with him. His eyes meeting hers yet not giving away any emotion...the orange hue remaining so. He briefly had a feeling about her....one he hasn't had for any individual since the last human he was with. That possosivness that was akin to the one he had for the child yet....different. He pushed those thoughts aside and focused on her.

Songstress straightened up once she was given the gesture, glad she hadn't offended him yet, that was a good sign. She hesitated when he asked for her name, as she always did when asked the question by someone. She knew he wanted her real name, and by all rights, he deserved to know it. However, to give that name up to him, that would take far more than just owing her life to him to get it. "My name? I mean no disrespect at all towards you, Your Majesty, but...I cannot simply give my name out. Do not misunderstand, it isn't because I'm not grateful, because I am. It's just..." she paused. How was she supposed to explain it in words that he would understand? She knew he was intelligent, and it wasn't like she was trying to deceive him in any way. She wanted to tell him her real name, but that came at a high price for her. Trust. She had never trusted anyone in her life. Her name was a guarded secret, like a prized possession; and to just tell it to anyone that asked, that was like...opening herself up to them. "Please understand, in my world, I have had to keep my name a secret from everyone. I am not willing to reveal my real name right now, for that takes...trust. And trust is just too high a price for me to pay at this point. I do not wish to anger you, or to deceive you, so that is why I am telling you the truth as to why I cannot give it. There is another name you can call me by, Songstress. It was a name given to me back in my world, a name people came up with, since they didn't know who I really was." she finished.

Feoras was expecting that somewhat. He didn't expect the reasoning, but he did expect the hesitation. He nodded and opened the door back up. "Songstress...here I go by Phyre or Summer...you may choose which you think suites me in your mind" he gestured for her to follow him outside of the room. "Do not give your real name to any other fae who ask of it...others may take advantage even when they seem friendly." He started guiding her through the palace. "Since you are going to be staying here you may choose where you wish to work" He pauses and does a head nod to a passing servant.

"Or you can take on multiple jobs....just so long as you can keep up with it" He stopped in the kitchen and looked around before sneaking up to some batter...suddenly a rather irritated voice rang out. "My lord I know you aren't getting into my cake batter" A look of being caught went across feoras' features as he straightened. "Me...no" the owner of the voice appears to be a rather older fae with soft features and blazing red hair. "Shoo. No batter for you my lord" Feoras sighs "Fine...Cook..this is Songstress she may choose to help you" Cook nodded her head and goes back to her batter after making shooing motions at him. Feoras sticks his tongue out at cook before he turned and lead songstress out of the kitchen. "Cook has been keeping me away from her kitchen since I was a child" Basically giving a reason as to why she can talk to him the way he does. He paused. "What would you like to see?"

Raven Silverlight

@Belle
Raven walked on ahead of Jessalyn paying no mind to if the girl was actually following her. Her boots padded through the tall forest grass all around them. Raven took a breath of the air. It was fresh and pure and smelled of sweet things. Raven loved the Spring Court, she had ever since she was a child but even so out of all the lands the fae controlled Spring was often the most treacherous. Not because it was more powerful than the other three courts but because it was picturesque. Everything in the Land of Spring was beautifully enchanting, it smelled wonderful and placed you in a sense of ease. And almost all of it could easily kill you. Many of the flowers were poisonous, some of the trees had leaves sharp enough to draw blood and that was to say nothing of the fae that inhabited the land. The Spring born were usually childish and innocent looking, a look that lent itself to luring in even the most guarded and most possessed a silver tongue, figuratively if not literally.

The dangers of the other three courts while not always obvious could be avoided with experience. Winter and Summer showed there cruelties and kindness in sharp contrast. While Fall may not have been as straightforward the dangers within could be avoided with a well practiced hand. Spring on the other hand was a constant wild card. Even to someone like Raven who had lived there much of her life. She'd chosen to make her home in Spring because aside from its inherent beauty the dangers within it kept Raven on her toes.

Raven and Jessalyn walked for some time with Raven batting obstructions out of the blind girls way with her sword or her hand. It was not until they were much deeper inside the Court that Raven heard it. Sometimes far off, sometimes closer, short giggles of laughter echoed from the bushes and trees. They lasted only seconds. Just long enough to hold your attention and once gone made you question if they had ever been there. An inexperienced may have been frightened but Raven was old enough to know what was making the sounds.

After another half hours walk the laughter started to grate on Raven's ears. They were approaching the Borogoves and it was never good to have something draw your attention once you entered that length of the woods. Raven stopped and planted her feet firmly in the center of a clearing before saying in a voice that was both loud and even. "Nymphs of Wild Moors, show yourself."

There was almost a minute of silence before a thicket on the other side of the clearing erupted with young girlish laughter, like children at play. Then a string of seven Nymphs, all forming a chain by grasping the forearm of those on either side, came trailing out of the bushes. As they sashayed towards Raven they sang a lyrical rhyme which from children's mouths sounded sweet if you didn't listen to what they were singing.

"We are creatures of the Fae
Prepare to give your soul away
Our spell is passion and is art
Our song can bind a human heart
And if you chance to know our dance
These steps will be your last romance.

Raven stepped to the side, leaning against a tree as the Nymphs moved past her. They weren't after all interested in Raven. At least not for the moment. A human, one freshly entered into the world of Faerie provided a much greater thrill than a fae already wise to the ways of the Wild Nymphs. They surrounded Jessalyn, the last and first in the chain linking to form a circle around the blind girl. They continued to sing as they swirled around Jessalyn. Constantly spinning and moving in and out, leaving the blind girl guess to where the edge of the circle was. In the next couple of seconds there song changed from one of haunting beauty to simple childish fun. "Ring-a-round the rosie, a pocket full of posies. Ashes! Ashes! We all fall down."

With those last words the Nymphs broke hands and all collapsed to the ground laughing. They seemed just like any mortal seven year olds. Of course most mortal children did not realize that song was about a plague that wiped out a third of the 'civilized world'. These fae on the other hand had written the rhyme in honor of the chaos.

One of the Nymphs sat up. She had long golden hair and storm grey eyes. Her skin was flawless and seemed to glow in the light that trickled down through the forest canopy. "Dance with us blind girl, please..." she begged Jessalyn, pouting a little as she finished her words. Raven watched them from a distance. She could easily save Jessalyn right now but in all honest she wanted to see if the mortal had what it took to stand on her own two legs. Dancing with Nymphs was dangerous. If a mortal did not have a totem or talismen from a fae to protect them from the enchanting nature of Nymph melodies then they would dance till there feet bled and they died from exhaustion. Of course Jessalyn would have to agree to dance with the little girls before any of that could happen. Raven smiled, it had been a long time since she'd seen a mortal dance themselves to death. It was quite a spectacle to behold

Jessalyn - Spring Land - Raven

Apparently Raven heard the giggling too because she called for whoever it was to show themselves. In fact she called them Nymphs. Jess' mind immediately searched for anything she could remember about Nymphs. Only two things came to mind: minor female nature deity and sex. They were very popular in Greek mythology as concubines to various gods. They were unpredictable, which made them scary and dangerous.

Lysander growled, on guard from the mysterious things he didn't understand and hence didn't like. Since Jessalyn was blind she relied more on her hearing than anything else and, as she had with the being from before, noted a hint of danger behind the childlike singing of the creatures. If she had been able to see them she would no doubt have been taken in by their beauty and not listen carefully to their song, but since she couldn't she paid attention to the words. And the words were enough to make her heart race with fear.

She turned frantically, them spinning in a circle around her disorienting her. She tried to move away but couldn't tell which way to go.
"Raven?" she asked faintly, wondering where her protector had gone. Had she left her here with these creatures?
Then the words changed to the famous Ring Around the Rosie, which Jessalyn had never liked. How could one like a song about children who had died? Where had these creatures learned it?

When one of them wanted her to dance with them Jess's breath caught in her throat. Her mind went to one of her favorite poems Goblin Market:

We must not look at goblin men
We must not buy their fruits,
Who knows upon what soil they fed,
Their hungry thirsty roots...

Her first impulse was to strongly reject the creatures, but she feared angering them. She didn't know where Raven had gone, if she had abandoned her or not. Keeping a tight grip on Lysander, her knuckled white and her heart pounding in her ears, she shook her head, her movements jerky.
"N-no... thank you but... I can't dance," she offered as an excuse, praying the creatures would leave her alone. She felt a tug on Lysander's harness which she jerked the opposite way, away from whichever creature was trying to take it from her. "N-no," she said, still shaky but slightly firmer. "Raven?" she called again, louder.
