Back Story/Bio: Marcus Nerva was born to a regional senator in Southern Italy and his wife, who put Marcus under pressure to become a political member of the Late Roman Republic. Instead, he became an enlisted member of the Roman Army, serving as a legionary in the regions of Roman Germania. At age 22, in September of 9 C.E., Marcus' legion was ambushed in the Battle of Teutoburg Forest. The German tribes came in from all angles with flaming logs and arrows, crushing the surrounded Romans. What remained of Legios XVII, XVIII, and XIX either fought to the death or were captured. Marcus had been captured by the pagan tribes...When he next awoke, Marcus was held in a cage along with a couple other Legionaries just a few feet away from a pagan ritual site, a ritual site for sacrifices. One by one, the Romans were dragged into their plated armor, still coated in blood from the battle, to the makeshift altar at the center of the site. They were slaughtered and sacrificed to whatever demonic presence these tribesmen were treating to. Marcus and the others prayed, they prayed to Jupiter, to Mars, and even some to Jesus Christ, and when Marcus was taken to be put to the altar and cut into pieces like a meal, he cried. As the Germans said their chants, the "priest" stabbed Marcus with his ritual blade, right in the center of his chest. Marcus felt a horrible sense, as if he was being drained of himself, and then he passed out...
Starting Location: In the woods just barely South of Grendan Farmstead. Marcus awoke filled with horror and confusion. Out of breath and scared pale, he stands up. The forest surrounding him brings him to thinking that he is still in Germania, and with no Centurion or other higher up to lead him, Marcus takes to wandering in a confused daze. He keeps hearing things, moans and other ominous whispers, but he just continues to rub his head and walk in what he thinks is forward.
Other Info:-Marcus Nerva, thought translated terribly, is supposed to mean "Strength of Mars" | Nerva: Strength | Marcus: A derivative of Mars
-Marcus is horrifically afraid of what Romans would see as "insane" and "barbaric" after the ritual, so this should be a wonderful experience...
-Marcus craves leadership. While he can take care of himself just fine, he has a hard time maintaining long term objectives and way-points.
