Thanks. Yea, Legionarius and Gunsō are both ranks actually. They are "Legionary" (In Latin) and "Sergeant" (In Japanese) respectively. Just in case anyone tries to call my character "Gunsō" rather than his real first name "Haruka."

That's a good job you said that. I figured out "Legionarius", but yeah, I thought Gunso was his name.

Also, the UNSC? Lol. UNSC Marines are probably my favorite sci-fi grunts, right next to the grunts of the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40k.

Yeah, I was high lighting the probability that our characters aren't the first to have stumbled into the nightmare realm :D

His name was Bishop Thomas of Berran, and he was the Minister at the Church of the Creator. In better days, when the sun still graced the land, and where the farms and cottages still hummed with the happiness of the living, he was a good man - he was a compassionate man. He dedicated himself to God, and aspired to walk in the shadow of Christ. The locals loved him as a father, and knew him as a great human being.

Now, he is a broken shell; when the land fell to darkness, he was spared but also cursed. He is immortal, and the lurking evil leaves him well enough alone. Thus, he has been living in isolation for a very long time, perhaps centuries - though time is difficult to measure in a land where night blends into night.

As the only living native of this strange land, perhaps he holds answers as to what this place even is, and what caused it to become this way. Seeking him out at The Preist's Hovel might provide the answers our characters need to work towards an escape.

But be warned, for the Bishop is no longer known for kindness. He is deranged, his mind lost to oblivion... and alas, he no longer can recognise the living from the dead, the Heavenly from the Demonic, or the real from the imagined.

Actions to Take:

There ya go, there's a plot device for one of you to walk over to eventually. Added to the monster tracker.

The system is simple. I allot a number to each character, from 1 upwards. And then, I will periodically ask Mr. Random Number Selector to pick a batch of unfortunate characters. For ease, and to stop the RP choking up with too many monsters, I will usually roll for about half the active characters at any one time.

And then I roll a virtual 7 sided dice.

1 - Small group of easy enemies.
2 - Large group of easy enemies.
3 - Small group of medium enemies.
4 - Large group of medium enemies.
5 - Small group of tough enemies.
6 - Large group of tough enemies.
7 - Is... is that a Balrog?

I'll then put a little counter on the map, showing an image of the selected enemy, and its direction of approach. - Redundant idea, replaced by the Monster Tracker page.

I'll add the monsters to the Monster Tracker, along with a link to the post on the OOC in which they were created. Players will be given a brief description of the monsters, and will also be provided with information on how the monsters will react to certain actions taken by the characters. You do not have to go by what I say from word to word, the information provided is simply a guide to assist you.

Monsters will be scaled according to their victim. For instance, there is a big power or strength difference between a World War 2 Japanese soldier, and a steel-plated magic warrior from Magic the Gathering.

You then try to not die.

A squad of zombified American GIs, who are stalking Gunsō Haruka Kazuko amidst the trees.

UPDATE: Haruka killed one, and ran from the rest. They have now vanished, but will ambush him periodically until they have all been slain. They will usually appear during a moment of respite, such as sleep or when Haruka feels at ease.

I'll leave their reappearances up to your discretion.

UPDATE: Arth pushed one from a castle tower, though his sword was still buried in it. It is presumed dead. He injured the other two by tipping over a brazier on to them as they climbed the walls; however, they have now chased him into the keep and are searching for a way inside.

A problem chaps. I've not a laptop, and may not have one for several days. Or months. Hopefully not months. Anyways, of course I'm typing on something I hear you mutter to yourselves... A man my age shouldn't need to "Google Define: Fellatio", but I did, and now I have grown more as a person.

But yeah anyway, I think we're doing alright. Free isn't as popular as I remember it being, and I think people probably perceive Free as an orgy of one-liners and major derping, so we're kinda denying ourselves the Casual player base... but that's fine with me. I want this RP to be accessible to anyone and everyone :D

But hey, guild politics and marketing strategies aside, well done on another great post! I have absolutely no interest in Silent Hill (more of a classic Resi Evil fan me self), yet I'm hooked on Danielle's story. I'm looking forward to seeing how she gets herself out of that pickle.

@Frengo *bows* Thank you. I assure you she will survive but not without any scars. And yeah I got alot of things planned for her. I'm a fan of the classic RE too, but not as much as I am Silent Hill. I just love the characters and the over-all grimness of the series, especially how it plays on the whole "We are our own monster" mentality.
