Seriously though, you'll want systems that complement the main thing your frame is meant to do. You're a melee fighter, so perhaps your wings now project an energy field that provides even more protection. Maybe they can shoot out EMP blasts to disable enemy electronics. Maybe your Framewerk gets its hands upgraded with a Shining finger to combat enemies that bypass your scythe.

@Mr Rage Given you can get both new weapon systems I say get something that will give you more versatility. Like @Gate Keepersaid. Or something that would reduce your werk's glaring weaknesses. Maybe a low power/small ranged weapon of sort as a secondary system... I dunno.

@Mr Rage Either way, your upgrading your framework/mech so you can't exactly "lose". Still, it depends on how you want to approach a combat situation. Some say an extra weapon. Some say protection.

I know where you mech comes from so why not a stealth system? Either way, lots of choices. Though in-story, you have to wonder how Lorenzo would put up with such requests =p

Ok, @Ariamis, I have my new pieces for your perusal. I hope I am not asking for too much in this multi-tool of a primary, but considering my original primary is more or less extremely weak compared to some of the other primaries around here, I hope it will get accepted.

Primary System 2: Wave Surger

Equipped over the left hand. This oversized hand has several functions. First, it has a built in energy source that can emit extremely powerful microwaves that can be used to destroy what ever part of an opponent it grabs hold of. Secondly, if given time to charge (a turn or two? your call), it can shoot out a prolonged energy beam allowing Black Star to make a sweeping motion and hit several targets, or keep it on one target that may have more durable armor, requires a cool down after use (again, a turn or two, your call). Thirdly, it can be launched from the fore-arm for a short ranged distance with the intent of using the first use at a range. The Wave Surger can be re-equipped once recovered, requires a turn before usable again for the system to reinstall. The fourth function is to use the microwave in a wide burst, acting as a light energy shield. This cannot be sustained for long periods or else it will overload the power source and burn up.

Secondary System 2: Active Cloak
More of an upgrade to the system of the Armor Wings. Active cloak has two modes. The first makes Black Star virtually invisible to electronic surveillance and radar, however it can still be seen by the naked, organic eye. This stealth mode is only usable while the armor wings are closed. The second mode, decoy mode, is the exact opposite in that it makes the appearance of three Black Stars, this shows up on radar this way as well. Again, this does not effect the naked eye. This mode can be used with armor wings closed or opened. Both modes work on both friend and foe scanners.

Oooh shining fingers. I like the added versatility I have with my wave generators. I did go back and edit a fourth function that I had forgotten to put in before.

Also, I figured that the hand would be asking for too much for it to have an automatic recall and return to Black Star after it is done destroying whatever it is sent to destroy.

I can just picture it now. Stealth mode active, sneak up real close to a Cruxi. Uncloak, the cruxi snarls at me. "Talk to the hand!" Launch the wave surger in mode 3, latches onto its head and microwaves it on high for 3 minutes, or until crispy.

The light shield has to be dropped, and the charging ability will take three turns of charging two turns to charge, and the third turn to fire. Otherwise accepted as a heat type of weapon along with the secondary.

Not going to lie, if I ever get a Second Primary system, I'll be tempted to make it EVEN MORE THRUSTERS.

What? Shore up weaknesses? SCREW THAT. Let's see if I can exceed Lightspeed through boosting alone!

@Ariamis I had incorporated a cool down time on the sustained blast, you didn't define how much time it required for that. and I figured that it was total shut down after use, so after secondary function is used, it cannot be used for anything but a hand for how long?

Two turns for normal use, three for activating sustained blast.
