When they arrived they seeded the planet. Ships dropped down all over the globe in seemingly random groupings. Some clustered in close proximity, others hundreds of miles from each other. But in each instance, when a human, or group of humans saw and investigated, they were forever changed.

There is a reason the ships came, though no evidence of their existence remains. That reason has yet to be discovered. In the meantime the era of the Human+ has begun, and Earth will never again be the same.

OOC

So basically, what we have here is a superheroes storyline. Alien ships landed on earth, usually in the middle of the night. If a person stepped aboard the ship while it was here they were changed, and woke up the next day in their beds with no memory of what happened. After a few days though, they would begin to exhibit unusual abilities.

Our team would be a group of high school kids, aged 14 to 17. We would all go to the same school. We don't all have to be friends to start with but we'll eventually become friends, teaming up to try to help out with crime in the area. Eventually I've got plans to reveal why and how the ships came to earth in the first place so yes there is an explanation.

If this get's enough interest I'll go into more detail and we can discuss powers and such.

What is the range in which you would like the powers of our abilities to be? Like what is to powerful?

Well first of all your character I'd a still growing teen, so the power won't be as strong as it co u ld be once they're a fully matured adult. Secondly I'm kicking around the idea of a random assignment of powers. If one were to stumble upon super powers you don't usually get to choose what you get. Only makes sense to not get to choose your power here.

I'm leaving that open for debate though. If people really don't like it we can let you design your own. I'm heading home from work right now so I'll come back and give you a list of the powers the characters have in the book version of this story as examples.

As they use their abilities and mature they will become stronger. Second thing to remember is when you suddenly start showing powers you don't know what your power is. The things didn't come with instructions or a guide book ya know?

So as an example I have a character in the book that can control gravity. When his powers first manifest he wakes up to find he's floating three feet in the air above his bed. At first he thinks he can fly. Then he later thinks he has telekenises. It takes a little while before they narrow it down to controlling gravity.

Another character has a power known as creation. Literally a God-like power. Anything he wants, he can create it out of thin air. A car, motorcycle, weapons, clothes, food, etc. BUT he has to completely understand the item he's making down to its molecular structure or it won't work. So this character, with his photographic memory, can't do much at first but he has the potential to grow into an incredibly powerful character eventually.

Color me interested!

Sounds pretty cool. I like the idea of having a randomly selected power. Would you be selecting the power to give to characters randomly, or would you give the character powers based on their personality, bio, appearance Etc... ?

Totally random. I'll have a list of 100 or so different powers and use a random number generator to select the power for each player.

sounds interesting, it seems like it will really encourage creativity in character progression. Although, I can't help but feel like some people would protest some of their powers....

I'm interested. I also really like the idea of randomly assigning powers. I think I'll have a lot of fun with that.

How often would you like us to post?

Not too often. I understand life gets in the way sometimes. But as long as we're not going several days in between posts without some kind of warning, that'd be good.
