~Class is in session, darlings!"~ <3Eyes are actually as blue as ice. The whites of her eyes turn
black when she's angry.
Rebecca Selie Valentine
Unknown (Appears around her late twenties to early thirties)
Charming and elegant, a very courtesan attitude, she could woo you with just a few simple words or with just a look of her eyes. She cares for others and does what's necessary to help those in need, but when angered, her personality shifts and she becomes cold, relentless, and violent. Unlike some, Rebecca only pines for the simpler things of life. From day to day, she preoccupies herself with hobbies such as reading classic literature, listening to music, playing violin and piano, painting, etc., etc.
It's become apparent to some that she enjoys the company of women more than men, possibly even a physical attraction to them. Though she is also sociable with men, she has a particular disdain for some, especially if they take advantage of a woman in any way or are cruel to them.
House Valentine was once the most prominent of families in the Venetian Aristocracy. Baron Renault, Rebecca's father, was a wealthy landowner and a considerably generous philanthropist. He later fell in love with Marianne, a beautiful and famous actress and opera singer, and married, where upon later they had a daughter, Rebecca. Twas thanks to her mother that Rebecca was raised in an environment steeped in music and the arts. She loved to hear her mother sing and enjoyed watching her plays and her concerts with her father. She even dreamed once of becoming an actress just like her mother, to be adored and talented as she was...but sadly her dreams were cut short.
One considerably dark and cloudy night, a stranger clad in black and wearing a mask visited her family's home, and with him....he brought unspeakable horrors. He was tame at first, rather charming to Rebecca, but his advances upon her and her mother became unsettling. Renault soon took notice and kindly, yet firmly he asked the man to leave. He did not.... Instead, the man revealed himself to be a creature of the damned. He murdered Rebecca's family right before her waking eyes, tearing them to pieces with his bare hands and lapping their blood off the floor. Then, he turned towards Rebecca, a savage gleam in his wicked red eyes.
She tried to run away, far into the darkness of the forest surrounding her family's lavish abode, but he was too quick for her. Soon he caught her and pinned her to the ground ripping away her dress and defiling her once pure essence with his malice. Once the vile act was committed, the creature took her limp and lifeless body, tied stones to her ankles, and tossed her into a lake, never to be seen again...
Tales of his massacre would spread like wildfire, but the killer's identity would never be known....except by one.
Years past since that horrific night, a lowly fisherman out on his evening stroll discovered the woman's body after his hook snagged onto her. He pulled the seemingly dead woman out of the lake, but right as the full, crimson moon shined upon her corpse, Rebecca sprung to life instantly and attacked the man, draining him until he was nothing but a dried husk. She fled back to her home, only to find it in ruins, every last ounce of her family legacy gone in ashes. An anger surged within her as she looked to the charred remains of her family's mansion, her eyes becoming dark as the ash that surrounded her.
Rebecca could see him again, his vile smirk, his despicable eyes leering with bloodlust. But worse....she had become just like him...a creature of the undead...a Vampire.
From that day forward, she swore vengeance upon him killing her family, destroying her home...and turning her into a monster. Eventually, she caught up to the vampire and slayed him in cold blood, but by that time, the damage was already done. Her family gone, her house ruined, and her old life now in shambles, Rebecca soon turned towards her new life as a vampire, and ever so slowly, she embraced it.
For several years, she's traveled about the world, immortality being the blessing it was, and seduced many a beautiful maiden to their imminent demise at her fangs. She steeped herself in not only practical knowledge such as mathematics, science, and philosophy, but also in the languages and cultures of the many places she had visited. Nevertheless, she kept her true identity as a Nosferatu hidden from the outside world, only indulging her savage bloodlust out of need for survival. The few who knew what she was were only those closest to her, be it a friend or a lover, and some willingly allowed Rebecca to feed from them.
Now in the modern era, Rebecca has found quite the lucrative career being a literature teacher for Madame Lilith's School for Supernaturals, lucrative in the sense that she gets to spend every day with a charming bunch of young girls to partake of, whether for blood or other....sinful delights.
~Glamour~
One of Rebecca's innate abilities is to conjure forth images that are pleasing to the eye, often provoking feelings of wonder, joy, love, and a sense of warmth and comfort
~Allurement~
With just a simple look into her eyes or a batting of her eyelashes, a soft smirk included, Rebecca can gain control of someone and lure them to her subconciously. Of course, it's only effective if the intended target is of weak will, but she is rather persistent in her...endeavors.
~Manipulation~
One of her more sinister devices, Rebecca's well known to be a master-manipulator, able to sway the thoughts and actions of those around her to fit her own needs and desires, whether through physical or mental prodding. Even, she has the ability to invade the dreams of her intended victims while they sleep and tamper with them, further corrupting their minds until they are under her control
~Shape-Shifting~
As with most Nosferatu, Rebecca has the ability to change shape into almost anything. Her most common alternate-form is of a
black cat, but she can also form into a bat (naturally) or a cloud of dark mist. There is also the matter of her
true vampiric formThough she is a vampire, Rebecca is only affected mildly by the few common vampire weaknesses. She can still ingest garlic, albeit in moderate amounts, and she can still traverse through sunlight, only for a short amount of time before she begins to feel weary, light-headed, and at some points nauseous. Prolonged exposure to sunlight may even cause her to faint or her skin to blister painfully, but this is only in the case of direct contact with her skin. Religious paraphernalia if touched to her skin will cause minor burns and the sight of such can cause her to have splitting migraines and even lash out angrily. Naturally though, a stake to the heart can kill her instantly. The same goes with forcing her to swallow holy water.
Sadly, her family had been slain by the loathsome creature she took pleasure in killing, and nearly all of her dearest friends and lovers she has outlived. Immortality has been a blessing to her, no doubt, but it has also been a burdening curse upon her. Though not much of a friendship, she has a mutual respect and adoration for Madam Lilith aka The Demon Queen.
Rebecca's never been one for long standing relationships, but that's not to say she wouldn't mind settling down with someone and spending her life with them. She hasn't found anyone yet, but that's not to say she's giving up on searching for that special someone.
-Never, under any circumstances, call her Becky. She despises that nickname.
-Though she hates to admit it, Rebecca loves to drink, mostly vodka, absinthe, or wine as she hates the smell of beer and whiskey makes her sick to her stomach.
-Aside from being a teacher, she is an avid poet and novelist, fluent with her words and has had a few of her books published in secret under the pen name
Vaelerie DuMare, mostly horror and gothic romance novels. One of her books was even adapted into a manga recently.
-She once had a passionate relationship with Madam Lilith, possibly how she secured her position in the first place, but it didn't last long. Still, she admires the Demon Queen and tends to flirt with her from time to time.
-Contrary to popular belief, no, she does not sleep in a coffin as she hates being confined in small spaces.
