EDIT: Here's the OOC.

Basically, we will take turns being the game master, coming up with different plots for the latest adventure that we will partake in, exploring a generic fantasy land that may be fleshed out in time. The plots can be anything from investigating some town to clearing a dungeon. We will all vote on who should be the next game master so we can get the plots we are most interested in. If a game master is voted on as not good enough then we can start up a new game and pretend that never happened in official canon or glance over the parts that happen after we stop playing. Plots can be continuations of previous ones if we'd like to revisit certain locations and characters. It won't involve stats, but possibly rolling for when the game master cannot decide if it would happen or not so rolls for fate to decide. Our characters don't have to fit perfectly into classes, but obviously with strengths and weaknesses, some of us will naturally end up as wizards, brute force berserkers, rogues, etc. Plus it might be fun to do some stereotyping if you are into that.

The tone of the adventurers can be light hearted fun to serious struggles, seeing the complex choices that player characters must decide on. Anyone interested?

I haven't either. It can just be inspired by it in some ways like if you enjoy a certain monster type from it, but not necessary. You can have an adventure not inspired from any d&d, more like a generic fantasy world or with your own monsters and foes. I'm sure the elements are similar to lord of the rings or final fantasy or something. People borrowing ideas from certain media should explain what tey are rather than just say, "a wild kubrkalakahdkdl attacks you!" Our group ca ask for clarification for every game master post so we can figure out the scene they are setting to better react.

How do you guys want it to develop? Mostly campy fun? Serious moral choices? I'm leaning towards a middle ground where it's not out of place to have a character joke, but the situations are still mostly serious.

Start in the middle. If players lean one way or the other, let it develop naturally.

Personally I really wouldn't mind things tending towards Discworld-style, tongue-in-cheek humour, myself... but IncredibleBee's probably got the right idea

I would be down for this. I would be playing some sort of serious character, cause I can't do humor, but I would not care if somebody else wanted to be a humorous character.

I like the idea that the world will kind of build itself as we continue to RP. Each time someone becomes a DM and puts the party in a new scenario, they will probably introduce some new information and lore, which can kind of fit in together later down the road.

I'd just like to know what the 'stats' are and how you plan on handling them.

We're not using an actual system, so I would say we don't really need numerical stats. Of course we'd have things like "Oh, my character can juggle and is a master glassblower", what they're good and bad at, but it's general, relative stuff. Hard numbers are only really useful for dice.

Maybe your character could have some funny moments because he is so serious, like a straight man.

I'll likely have the second post of the OOC be devoted to all of the lore we are building up so we can remember.

We don't have to worry about stats, but instead describe their general physical attributes. We can imagine outcomes of situations based on how they'd realistically be able to do, not worrying if he has a 6 or 7 in strength. You could use numbers to help clarify their abilities, such as having a 10/10 in strength would be the same as saying they are the strongest a playable character is allowed.

*lol* I would think the opening poster would get that particular honor. That way he could set the tone. I must admit I often defer towards darker themes than most.

I also like darker themes, by the way. My character will probably DM things akin to some dark fantasy elements.
