Le me, having a look at potential relationships:

@Monkeypants Popped up a bit of nonsense in my relationships tab already, based on what we have. Pretty sure it's fine, but do double-check. :)

@Brink_@Willy Vereb We're located in the same part of the world and both have a fair amount of history (although mine is basically all Restoration). Will kinda depend on the outcome of the Great War and the degree to which one of you might like to have fucked Jodesia over.

@Inkdrop You're a total gateway to my shores, so I like to think we'd have a friendly relationship. Perhaps Jodesia and the King's Islands have some history of invasion/being invaded in a way that is totally cool and resolved now and not relevant to our modern-day countries, just for flavour?

@Isotope Your culture and history section doesn't give me too much to work with :P. I'm guessing because you're on the West Coast and not-terribly close to me, we won't have much to do with each other.

@Sigma I wonder if a certain amount of warlords hide out/get their equipment via the Westerijk? Otherwise, you're land-locked and too far away, I think, for direct interaction.

@Nerevarine You seem pretty far away for us to have much to do with each other, unless you have any bright ideas?

@Taeryn Quite far away, although potential trade with the Westerijk might still be an option for you, depending on how queasy the UHSR would feel about dealing with proto-fascists :P

@Jig If you'd want, the interaction could be through third parties, such as smugglers or perhaps Malagasy Enterprises, the Sea and Air Space of the UPC is pretty much lawless, and a Megacorporation or other third parties can act for you. Or perhaps the NPC state on the southern border of the Badlands is an ally who allow access to your people.

Just some ideas for you if you still want to interact with the Badlands.

Fair enough. You'll have to wait for my finished CS until tomorrow morning, probably, but I DID get a chance to work on it. I'm still chewing on how to approach the technological aspect of the nation presently, but a lot of what I haven't finished I know exactly how I want to approach.

Sorry, I'm just such a mess for pointing out that you call everything you even remotely disagree with illogical and proceed to dismiss and mock every criticism of yourself or your ideas.
You need to work on this. Your response seem to be an imitation of my last sentence without the rest supporting it which completely blunts the effect.
Then again, I was tired and certainly acted out of line so for that I apologize.

<Snipped quote by Willy Vereb>

1st part, it does matter. Absolutely does. It is exactly this and its been repeated many times, civilization ended in the 23rd century of man. At that time is when things restarted at 0. We are in a new 1500's. Pretty easy to follow.

2nd, if you meant to say "my stuff is among the best" why not just say it rather than do what's pretty much power playing by saying mines best.

My ice sword of Kroc is stronger than everyone else's wwords! My chain mail is best made and strongest. My magic is stronger than all.

Its the same as saying my industry is best. Its power playing. If your intent was not to say mine was best, then just don't say it.

You're not on a high horse, quit acting like it.
Yeah, I suppose English is not your first language? We barely talked aside from RP topics so pardon me for making assumptions.
As others said your concern is wholly unnecessary if you can read between the lines.
Why not I wrote it like that? Well, have you ever heard of freedom of expression?
If this is your critique then there are so much more to pick on in everybody' profiles.

Also you flip-flop on the date. First you say that since the Catastrophe happened thousands of years ago the current date must be way more than just the 1900s. Now after hearing Isotope's response you turn it around and pretend you were implying an 1500s date. It seems you only make it an argument in order to slam me. Stop it.
Control your salt for the sake of all players.

Anyhoo, apart from working out plot-stuff with individuals, I'm gonna not wade any further into this, because it's looking dangerously close to playground squabbling and, the way this is going, I can't see this de-escalating, so I'd recommend you all step back and wait for Sigma too. GM is god and I'm sure we all agree that he gets the final say.
Don't worry I don't intend to pick fight with people here, either. That and since I went to sleep right after my previous post it does seem to have sorted out.

Willy, I placed that dating system for simplicity's sake, helping players sort themselves out when making their history. Now let's be reasonable and not let this issue rear it's ugly head again.
I am fine with the 1500s date if that's what you decided on.
I just found a dating system which accidentally the same span as in the previous world could've helped people to simply copy-paste events better.
When was the "middle ages" in this RC time? When was gunpowder invented?
Things are more convenient if it accidentally reflect the previous timeline. History repeats itself and so on.
But again, I don't mind if you pick RC1520 as the starting date. I only need to switch out a few lines in my NS at worst.

@Willy Vereb @Brink_
I'm looking to have lost a chunk of territory to either of you during the Great War, so that Jodesia can have a great sense of loss and glory days to harken back to. I'm basically going to suggest that I got myself involved in something I wasn't prepared to deal with, and the result was an embarrassing treaty in which I was forced to hand over either a Western territory to the Hungarian League or a Southern Territory to Franco-Iberia. Either of you want in? (Obviously the current map will reflect territories as they are; we're just talking history here)
And the Great War was a couple of decades ago, ie: 1500-1510ish by the restoration calendar, right?

Probably only want one of you to have pinched my land, just so I don't have to bear a grudge against both of you :P
I don't think I made any but minor territorial claims on your expense unless it was some territories in Africa. Then again Franco-Iberia benefited the most. Though it depends on him. I personally intended that the nation in the center lost Italy among perhaps other territorial concessions.
@Brink_

I need to get myself in on this overseas war stuff. Can't be an isolationist.
Given how many European nations are affiliated with you to some degree I say you'd already have a role in it.
Expect you and your allies to be one of the power blocks.
Which begs the question: Where should we draw the other one?
I am fine with being in somewhat hostile relations with you if you want but for that I need a similar alliance system to complement it.

I have yet to read up the IC so I don't know if you guys already cooked up something. If yes, then I will adopt accordingly.

History is up! Culture will follow tomorrow.

BTW @Sigma would it be cool for me to have had large scale success with hydroponics? It was used in the 30's and I thought it might be a neat fit for my nation given I have less open farmland than others, fits the retro future feel well imo.

@Isotope Got no problem with it, go right ahead.

@Willy Vereb The redevelopment of civilization was quite different, but if no one minds, I can simply add on the fact that the Age of Darkness and the restoration conflict were part of the new calendar, leaving us close to the 1950's RC.

BTW, since we are at dates.
Any suggestions for the Great War?
I thought it could've happened during the 1500s or so and concluded before 1510 (perhaps even way before it).

BTW Sigma, was your nation ever terribly cohesive or developed before it collapsed? It seems like it would have been formed out of many distinct cultural and religious groups spread over a huge region.

Just a question for in game lore.

@Isotope I would say. The UPC is made of of quite a few different groups, many willing to work alongside one another for the greater good, others not so much, but hid away such contempt(these people would accelerate the the collapse). The UPC was not quite as developed and urbanized as Cascadia and the NAU, many settlements being small towns and such, very few cities in sight, and their loss was a crippling blow for the Coalition. When the Grogar countered the UPC's encirclement strategy, what little that held the country together all came down crashing down.
