@Brink_ Fair enough, that.

@Taeryn Since you're playing a socialist republic and I'm playing a literal corporate empire, should we just safely assume that idealogical differences probably lead to lots of enmity between our nations?

@Sigma Maybe? The East Africa Trade Group could have been involved in some genetic experiments in the U.S. as well if you want, or have exchanged samples with the U.S. Grogar and Ogres COULD be related, which could explain why there are "wild ogres" which are 100% dangerous and people-murdering.

EDIT 2: I may borrow Nwabudike Morgan's picture from Alpha Centauri. I love the character's lines.

Yeah, Malagasy Enterprises is going to make a lot of enemies with their gene manipulation for sure. But then they're a huge agricultural supplier that is mostly concerned with the expansion of trade, and they're pretty far off... They're probably seen as a "tolerable evil" when it comes to getting their goods.

Yeah, so let's have a strong trade going on, but let's say that the BEST equipment Hungary isn't shipping to Malagasy Enterprises, at least not yet. Malagasy Enterprises isn't a friend; just a business partner.
Well, they don't sell their best military hardware for obvious reasons.
In terms of AFVs you can choose from two upgraded Great War vintages, the HK-27 Lehel and the ML-24 Makk.
The first is kind of like the T-55 but with 105mm cannon and more Westernish setup.
The Makk is like the StuG III/IV tank destroyers but with upgraded features and a high-velocity 105mm gun.

Both are decent enough even in the current times but certainly not top-notch. Think of the equivalent of getting Centurion tanks in the 50s. They are good but the designs are approaching their limits how much they can keep up with the times.

@Willy Vereb Works for me. Both designs look fine, and I imagine Malagasy is content to trade for those vehicles. They'll probably take at least as many vehicles from Franco-Iberia, and exports from both nations will make up the majority of tanks used by the Peacekeepers. Malagasy will equip its Chevaliers with its own designs.

So where would my nation fit into all of this? They do have some oil with control of the North Sea, although their manufacturing facilities aren't the greatest. I do think Oceon would mostly be for raw materials, not manufactured goods.

Well, I think realistically it'd be better if you choose only one supplier for mainline tanks.
Getting a mix of vehicles with way different parts and maintenance could be a logistic nightmare.
But it's up to you.
Personally I'd love if there'd be an IC competition between me and Franco-Iberia's design to see which is the better.
A competitive test of sorts.

That might be a good bit of roleplay. Malagasy Enterprises would be watching intently.

Perhaps, for the time being, Malagasy Enterprises purchases its planes from Franco-Iberia and its tanks from Hungary? Or certain mainline tanks from one, and certain mainline tanks from the other.

I don't wish to butt into what you want with your military. Realistically picking one type of tank from a nation and another fulfilling the same role from another is a bad idea. But this is a game so it's up to you.

But yeah, IC competition between manufacturers could be fun.

I have plans for other planes, too. For example I might build flying saucers. They were testing those back in the 1950s.
Some small mech and jet speeder might be made, too.

I meant for different combat roles, actually. I.E. a heavier tank from one nation, a more agile tank from another.

Some small mech and jet speeder might be made, too.

On that note, feel free to have spies poking into the Iklwa project.

Yeah, aircraft is something of a weak spot for my nation. What kind of relationship do you see between our nations?

@Sigma

They've been making helicopters since their invention (by who ever around 20 years ago.)

Idk who actually invented them but like the car, murica went nuts with them.

And... I'm going to add fallout-esque power armor. It feels right for a militarized force combatting grogar.

@Shorticus and your question, honestly id see the NAU being pretty content with your nation. Reason being they are so far from each other to impact anything major. I'd say trade is there and probably some sort of non aggression but not much else.

Ideas?

@Monkeypants That should be a great fight :)
Also, would it be ok if the UPC had a bought some helicopters before the Civil War, most in the hands of the remnant, and a few stolen from the remnant by the NAU-aligned rebels.

Also to note Shorticus is backing the Separatists/Nationalists. Not sure if that'll be a problem.

@Inkdrop Well, there are quite a few conflicts going about. Perhaps you can start story arcs of say, task forces sent to aide allies, or maybe even humanitarian aide? Doesn't necessarily need to be military in nature.

Actually, shorticus, I for some odd reason keep thinking your further away, not stretching into south Africa.

That said, the biggest thing the NAU would have issues with is aligning with any enemies of the NAU. Seperatists in the former upc being a big one.

If support was shifted to pro nau groups, I could see corporate entities being allowed to operate in some manner in the west. Be it supporting NAU troops in "restoring order" (taking new land) and aid operations, house building or what not.

NAU dont care about slavery. Its not allowed in the nation but they couldn't care less if others use them.

If that all makes sense...

I feel like the Han will look at your land like some kind of horrible, unnatural mistake, given their attitudes towards mutants descended from animals; even if they don't make it apparent
