Got it <3
Okay so I really want to join this because it looks really cool and I have some ideas for characters, but it's about to be finals week and I'm stressing really hard. If I get my cs up within the next few days is there any way I could join in a little later? Like after next week if it gets started by then?
Yay!
That's my line!

| NAME(S): |Skylar Finn
| NICKNAME(S): |Sky
| ALIAS(ES): |Fragment
| D.O.B.: |03/17/1993
| AGE: |23
| SEX: |Trans-Male
| SEXUALITY: |Pansexual
| APPEARANCE: |At first glance when you look at Skylar, he doesn't seem that much of a threat seeing he always has a smile on his face; something that he didn't always have. He's not built by any means but he is starting to bulk up and wanting a more fit body. Currently he stands at 5'7 and weighs about 140 pounds. His height is something that he's most self conscious about and something he's frustrated that he can't really change even with testosterone. He's had top surgery done meaning his breast tissue was removed and he is in love with his flat chest. His hair is brunette with bits of blonde highlights in it that have slowly started to fade away. His hair is wavy, almost curly so he tends to keep it short on the sides with just a bit of scissor cut at the top to make it manageable and stylish. Something that's always brought up is the fact he has a boyish babyface look that makes him more cute than ruggedly handsome which he is fine with. The dimples he has when he smiles just complements his already delicate face. His eyes are brown, almost hazel which isn't anything too special. Overall, as a transgender male he has passing privilege and not one person to date has yet to clock him about being trans. His voice is deep and 'bro-ish' like a stereotypical white kid so people wouldn't think anything of him if he walked down the street. His style is your stereotypical casual punk wear which consists of many graphic art t-shirts, hoodies, tanks, and skinny jeans. He has medium sized gauges in his ears and doesn't plan on making them any bigger.
| ABILITIES/SKILLS: |Glass Manipulation - Skylar has the ability to manipulate and control all things glass. At the moment he cannot create the actual glass, but only control glass already made. The extent of his manipulation is limited to shattering the glass and telekinetically maneuvering it any way he desires. With the glass he is able to weaponize shards as well as create constructs and shields limited to what he can mentally handle. At the moment he can only control about 50 pounds of glass before hurting himself. With shattering glass, he can also repair it to make it brand new. Eventually he will be able to affect the color of glass as well as the opacity of it. His powers are heavily tied to his emotions which cause anything glass near him to crack or shatter when he's upset.
Glass Mimicry - Skylar will soon have the ability to transform his body into pure glass that's as hard as diamonds. While in this state, he'll be able to take rigorous amounts of strain on his body such as car crashes, bullets, stabs, pressure, high altitude and will not be subject to pain. He will be near transparent like glass to the point he can barely be seen in a dim lit room. In his glass form, his strength and durability is enhanced exponentially allowing him to lift around 2 tons. The downside to this ability is that he will be unable to take extreme temperatures with the risk of shattering. Skylar is also self sustained while transformed, requiring no food, water or oxygen, however he can only stay in glass form for about ten minutes before having to revert back. When knocked unconscious in this form, he reverts back to his original state. He will be immune to telepathic powers in his glass form, but in turn, he is unable to use his own glass manipulation powers until he turns back. On the back of his head where the medulla oblongata is located is his weak spot when in this form. If shot at, he will immediately shatter, killing him instantly. (Will acquire in the distant future.)
| BACKSTORY: |As cliche as it sounds that a trans person grew up in a highly religious family, that's exactly what happened. Of course Skylar didn't always know he was that way or went by that name. He was born Cynthia Fin in a small town in Utah with two Mormon parents. Growing up, he had mormon views force fed to him since birth and naturally he agreed with most of it until he was old enough to have his own opinions. After he hit puberty, that's when he started noticing that he was a bit different from everyone else. He wasn't comfortable in the body he was in and didn't only like boys like he was made to believe all his life. Naturally, he hid these feelings and forced them into the back of his head, fearing his family would either send him away to get cured or disown him altogether.
In middle school and high school, he continued to live as the perfect girl his parents expected him to be. He was pressured into joining beauty pageants as well as run for homecoming and prom queen. He did the best he could do in order to impress his mom and dad so they wouldn't think anything of him. His friends from school or anyone else for that matter never knew his internal struggles he faced everyday. Finally he decided to read up about his condition in the school library. That's when he learned what transgender and sexual fluidity meant. He was led to believe that there was nothing else but being straight and cisgender. He didn't like the fact he was kept in a rock most of his life.
The summer after he graduated high school was when he decided it was time to be himself. There were no words that could describe the feeling of his parents anger when he came home with all of his hair chopped off and wearing male clothing. He was brave enough to come out to his family as 'Skylar' and that his old self was dead. That didn't go too well with them. Naturally as he feared, he wasn't welcomed at their home anymore and as long as he lived his 'lifestyle', he wasn't allowed at home anymore. Keeping strong, Skylar decided to pack his things and move across the country to Larissa with the money he had in his savings for school. One would think he would be upset and sad that the life he had known all his life was gone. But in fact he was happy and relieved that he didn't have that burden of keeping this weight on his chest forever.
Once Skylar was situated in this new big city that he heard so many good things about, especially the heroes that resided there many years ago, he went to his first doctors visit about his GID. He was immediately put on testosterone so he could begin transitioning. Taking that first shot into his thigh was the most emotionally thing he had ever felt. After that mile stone was achieved, he enrolled into college and got a little side job working at the Nuclear Power Facility to pay his bills. Now five years later, Skylar has changed drastically both physically and mentally. He's currently working on his masters degree in Mental Health for LGBTQ individuals and is a trans activist in the city. His top surgery had been done when he was 20 and his gender dysphoria gone now that he didn't have to see his breasts every morning when he woke up. Everything seemed to be going okay for him until the explosion happened at his job. He was standing by a window when he was hit by the energy. The glass shattered and glass particles seemed to enter his skin as he was knocked out by the CME. Now these new changes are going to be something else Skylar will have to deal with and learn from.

[1.06] This is a Character Driven RP, and as such you are encouraged and expected to take charge of your character's sub-plots and storylines. This is a favourite rule of mine, and that said, there will be a heavy emphasis on collaborative activities and team building as well. The GMs will be leading the RP in the traditional sense with a driving plot and will ensure the RP keeps moving however we do want to see you develop your characters and produce your own plots. However we don't want to see you lock your character out of interaction and focus solely on your character and their 'world'. No one enjoys watching you play with yourself, it's always better to let someone else join in on the fun.

| BACKSTORY: |
There comes a time between what you had planned for life, and what life has planned for you.
He was born third generation into firefighters, like his father and his father before him. No tragic upbringing with a slap-happy-pappy or other diseased members of the family. His dad was a fireman an so his circle of friends naturally involved and evolved around the other firefighter children. The family station mostly handled The Sound, The Wharf and Southbeach with touches into Santiago if others were busy.
His grandfather was there when the Maverics first appeared, dealing with a string of Arsons from a firebug. It was feral who detected the strange tracer in the accelerate that lead them to capturing the pyro. Any time the fires had a purposeful or incredulous circumstance, he would try to hand it off to the maverics to look into. Even if it was nothing, at least it was an attempt to do more. His dad was there when the maverics disbanded, having worked his career in their shadows to try and keep the city safe as the social structure collapsed around them.
It was his turn now, training diligently and keeping to the strictest rules as written versus rules as intended when needed to get his way. He had a girl on his arm, a Letterman jacket from JV and Varsity football, a car he could borrow at a moment notice, and the trust of his family. It wasn't some heroic moment, it wasn't some heinous crime. It just happened...
He woke up in the hospital from the crash three weeks later. His face had been a mess, the airbags had a deployment misfire which made them go off a full second too late, not only failing to protect, but in fact driving the debris deeper into him instead. No, not him, them.
She recovered easier than he did without a steering wheel to crush his chest, but their relationship never recovered and they grew apart. The depression set in as the list of wounds, while none fatal, were disabling enough that his future as a firefighter was finished. He tried to push through, shifting his focus to the sciences of fires, but it was too much and he ended up dropping out then moving out to live in the shadow of the reactor and working at the plant instead.
He was there on the grounds when the explosion went off.
| MOTIVATION/OBJECTIVE: |
He has always had a strong moral compass to know right from wrong. The rules to follow and the rules that are in place for businesses, not people. He knows the lines to not cross, that you can't come back from. But as much as he knows, his resolve has been shaken to the core.

Okay, bruh, I know you already got a 'roo's pouch-full of interest, but you know I can't ignore a good ol' superpowered romp. I also like how people are building characters and abilities with development in mind, which brings me to the question: kinetic energy shit, or super-speed?
Speed feels a lot less OP, but kinetic manipulation has a lot more obvious room for growth. Shit.
Mm, yeah. It's actually based on an idea I had for a character, like... 5 years ago. Wow. But yeah, it definitely has more extended application, but it can also be suuuuper-OP down the road.
But if the first antagonist has speed, might as well go something different.

Oh yeah - I firmly believe say, Gambit of the X-men could beat both Hulk and Superman by just turning their kinetic energy against them.
<Snipped quote by Hillan>
If you take all of even the 616 history and powers of gambit. At one time his powers spiked to the point he would excite the molecules of anything he looked at uncontrollably. He had Mr sinister cutout part of his mrain that controlled his mutant powers to dial his energy back to normal levels.
