Nation Description: The Foucili have always been a chaotic culture at best. A history of revolution and infighting dating back well into the 13th century after the death of King Armand II and the resulting war for the Foucili throne. Despite these generations of chaos, Foucil has always survived and in some cases thrived. During the age of colonialism the Foucilian Kingdom faced another great strife, in 1763 revolution sent the nation into an economic collapse and an end to the vast Faresian colonial empire the Kingdom had held. On April 3rd, 1764 the revolutionary republican flag rose over the Royal Palace and brought a temporary end to the Castet dynasty that had ruled over Foucil for hundreds of years. However, the First Republic was short lived and within a decade was crushed by allied Centran monarchs and their armies. Despite this setback the fires of liberalism continued to burn in secrecy, and for decades the royalty kept the peace, blind to the consistent agitation of the lower classes.
Revolution boiled over again in July of 1823, and a new civil war once more brought bloodshed to the fields of Foucil. With demands for the abolition of the monarchy and the creation of a constitution, the fiery of the revolutionaries shown through again and the Second Republic was proclaimed. Now, nearly a hundred years have passed and Foucil's democracy has been a beacon of liberty to all Centrans and a plight to the monarchs of the continent. However, the culture of infighting continues as the 1910 election draws closer and the nation's political landscape remains chaotic. On the Left the Radical Republicans form a united front of socialists, trade unionists, and Jacobins prepared to take the government by storm. On the Right, the more centrist Liberal Party and the conservative Unity Party continue to battle for supremacy on their side of the bench. The future of Foucil remains unknown, and forces from inside and out may bring a new chaotic era to the fragile Republic; just as tradition expects...
