Age: Twenty-Four
Gender: Female
Appearance: Before donning the costume and after, during her "off time," Ranae often wears very girly outfits, but ones that often mobility and flexibility such as tighter jeans that are more form fitting than ones for showing off, simple t-shirts, and even skirts at times that allow her full range motion. The reason being is that she is mentally prepared at almost all times to enter a conflict if she needs to, whether it's for self-defense or the defense of others. Otherwise there's no mistaking she is feminine and often wears more expensive clothes but not designer ones. She stands at about five feet and six inches and weighs roughly hundred twenty pounds.
Supernatural CombatUsers possess immense combat skills, both offensive and defensive, which are innate.
This encompasses speed, strength, precision, reflexes, technique, analysis, control, adaptation and all aspects of practical fighting. Ranae is able to wield melee and thrown weapons and invariably wield them with surreal efficiency. Most observers are simply incapable to understand what's happening. Level one abilities: At level one, unlike many other powers, she does not lack control. Instead, she suddenly possess the skill of an expert mixed martial artist, versed in many types of melee and thrown weapons as well techniques on how to adapt, analyze and read opponents, trained reflexes, and using her strength to her advantage. She also has knowledge of stealth tactics and martial training.
Level three abilities: At level three, she had grown to match the skill level of the most renown and skilled masters in the world. Only individuals that have trained for thirty years or more in actual combat can match her ability. Her stealth has increased to the point of being on par with trained assassins and she can push her physical limits to their height.
Level five abilities: At level five, she has surpassed any and all practitioners, in any form of martial arts that exists. Only other super powered people with similar powers (ability mimic, quick learning, etc.) can hope to match her ability in close combat. She is even able to stand toe-to-toe with super-strengthened & super-speed individuals at this level. Addition to this, she has truly mastered the ability for stealth and can even find ways to bypass super-senses, though it takes her longer. Ranae is also able to access ancient training techniques that can push her body beyond what was normally known, giving her enhanced physical traits (though nothing super).
Weakness/Limitation: The main weakness is that despite it's apparent draw to combat, it does not give her innate knowledge on ranged weaponry beyond hand-thrown weapons. This included handguns, shoulder guns, explosives, or archery. Beyond this, her first obvious limitation is that even with her ability, she is still a normal human. This power does not grant her enhanced strength, endurance, or agility and she must work her body out to keep up with her innate mastery (though this power does give her knowledge on how to train). Still, one can be faster, stronger, or more enduring and cause situations where her body simply can't keep up with her thoughts.
HistoryRanae Monique Viktor, born in 1990, is daughter to widower Micheal Viktor, renown Grandmaster martial artists and infamous crime lord. As a young girl, she didn't understand her father's more shadowy work deals, but was often exposed to his status as a martial artist. So she grew up fascinated with his ability to fight and started to enter into junior classes, settling her up to learn combat skills as she got older. Thanks to Micheal's underhanded deals, Ranae also had no worries when it came to material things though she somehow got away from being spoiled - unlike her father's hidden greed.
During her teenage years, she managed to pickup martial arts a bit quicker than her peers, but she was far from being at the skill of her father. Sadly during her senior years just when she was accepting herself as homosexual, she stumbled onto the fact that her father had more than half a dozen warrants against him that happened to "disappear" throughout the years. After confronting her father, they had a bit of a falling out, though his love for her still left her with a trust fund that he continuously added to - which she made sure came from honest sources in exchange for regular father & daughter lunches.
Having moved out on her own, she spends her time working at a comic book store to pass the time and relaxing at her computer. Sometimes choosing to ride the bus or take a taxi to change things up or when she feels especially lazy about driving that day. She's made a couple friends that are true and honest people away from her vain rich crowd, and even has a crush on a handsome young woman...
... though it's all about to change.
The day before the bus rideRanae slung her purse over her shoulder, having opted for a longer strap for both convenience and safety. Taking a quick breath through her nose, she glanced herself over the mirror to make sure she looked well-dressed; it wasn't a snobby rich-kid attitude that drove her to dress nicely but instead a sense of self-respect and professionalism - even in a comic book store. Of course another side-effect was less creepy stares from geeks and nerds that passed through the store daily. It didn't matter how nerdy she was, she considered herself a bit more high-functioning than men who lived with their mothers still. Smirking to herself, she combed her hair using her fingers before stepping away from the mirror and grabbing her keys.
Moments later the engine of her blue car (to which she only knew the make of - Ford) revved up into a quiet hum as she turned the cooling on as it was a bright sunny day with almost no clouds in the sky. Glancing back, she started to back out of the driveway and head towards work. The event was rather uneventful and in fact Ranae got so bored with the drive that her eyes started to get heavy, though she had done this too many times to count and felt confident in her ability to make it safely to the store.
With a soft
'ding', she opened the door with her set of keys, and greeted the empty lobby that was a comforting mix of warmth and loneliness. It wasn't hard to open the store on a Friday morning seeing as no new comics came in - gods it was a mass of chaos as geeky hands grabbed and pawed at new issues of comics when they came in, the though sending a chill down her spine. No, days like these were her favorite, allowing her to start the computer up and grab a
'Batman' comic to read as she waited. She really loved the DC universe comics, especially Batman and closely followed by Superman. They were both heroes, but while Superman displayed more heroic qualities, Batman was often a sort of gritty and realistic genius of a crime-fighter.
Another
'ding' softly echoing across the store warned her that she was not alone and customs demanded she put her comic down and address the newcomer. Displaying a smile across her face, an honest, friendly sort of smile that made a lot of the boys studder and shy away from her, she waved to the man in a hoodie. "Welcome to Steve's Comic Corner, may I-"
She was suddenly caught off with a gun in her face, causing her to blink. The man was less of a man and more of a teenager that had a lost, angry expression painted across his face and an intense stare behind his eyes. "Shut up bitch! Give me the drawer!" Ranae sighed and nodded slowly, tapping at the register as it rang zero dollars so it'd open the drawer up. Fuck - she should've just taken the bus.
