The secret is in the sauce.

I take 4 cups of Mountain Dew, and reduce by half with a diced onion and some sugar, then when the sauce is very thick, I throw in my two porkchops. It comes out great, and pairs nicely with fresh mango juice, and pommes puree.

Slowly add in sugar, and cook the mountain dew on a high heat so that the dew thickens.

Of course, to a hillbilly anything that isn't a roasted forest critter on a fire spit is probably a delicacy.

Your recipe kind of reminds me of how I cook ham using Sprite instead of water.

I cook pork shoulders by first soaking them in brine....cause salt.

Then I cover them in a salt based rub.

I throw them in the oven at 225 for 8-12 hours. Cause....mmmmmm.

So, what I'm curious about here is, Japan is the least fattest people in the world, and America is the fattest. Yet, Japan wants to be like us.

Cultural admiration =/= dietary practice. I'm sure there's things about what the Japanese eat that would repulse you and vice-versa. Keep in mind what they see is usually entertainment like movies and what not. They "want to be American" in the same sense a weeaboo wants to be Japanese. You admire a slice of cultural export without exposure to the reality of that country.

Pork chops could also come from a wild pig. There are tons of them here in Texas and white tailed deer. I miss knowing someone that hunts, I like wild game.
