If you opened the map, it had a message that suggested where to go. Or, like me you can buy a guide, and memorise the damn thing. XD
I think I played 300+ hours one just one file, and I am still not done getting everything. >.>

Yeah a suggestion. For one thing. Not the twenty other side quests needed done xD

As for the guide, it was family code rule not to ever cheat until finishing the game. Or if you know your about to face the final boss, then you can look to see if there's anything to get before the finale.

But not before going back yourself and looking everywhere on your own.

You will never make it. The game had easter eggs, and little side things that even the guide did not have. Talk to eveyone, poke every thing, and you will still find new stuff everytime you play through.

But that final boss. 2nd most epic one I have ever fought, beaten only by Demise from Skyward Sword.

Defeating it was like,

But I do, do that. How you think I usually got by in most games without cheating? That's what you do. You poke, you talk, you explore everything. I shouldn't need a guide to beat it.

But when life happens and you have to leave for awhile for maybe a couple months, well shit. All those little things that you should probably remember to do this side quest to get this weapon or this one to get a item?

Nope. Start over if you can't remember. Or run around again and hope that quest giver repeat themselves. But might as well restart.

A reason I've sorta been enjoying the Tales series recently. They usually at least give you a sort of checklist. Easy to figure out what you were doing if you have to drop the game a few months at a time.

Oh, no. You don't need a guide to beat the main story. Or even most of the best side-quests (although, there is one that I find a little stupid; there are 4 chests in the game that you are not supposed to open, for the most powerful weapon in the game. Best part? There is no hint, no clue and no warning about them. Without the guide, you would never know about it.) But I see your point. Getting the best items in the game require foreknowlage, or a stupid amount of luck.

Tales? What is that?

I would have so pissed if I found that out cause I open everything XD

The Tales series is a series of video games that is sorta akin to the Final Fantasy series. As it plays usually the fantasy role and usually each game is a different story instead of legit actual sequels unless said otherwise.

Tales of Symphonia was one of the most popular as it actually had a mild branching path that led to two different endings that depended how you talked to your party members. [FFFFFUUUUCK that AI though]

Tales of Vesparia was personally one of my favorites. It even has a anime short.

Tales of Xillia was also fun, haven't played the sequel to that yet though.

The best thing I always enjoyed that every game is coop. As a gaming household, coop games often are held high and the Tales series is coop and has a enjoyable story usually.

The most recent one Tales of zestiria is kinda eh because it's travel system is SUPER annoying, but still sorta enjoyable. I know theres a lot more but I haven't played all of them.

Oh, it gets even worse, if you miss it, you can still get the weapon, but it is in a chest that has a 20% chance of being there, and a 10% chance of containing the Zodiac Spear (the weapon). Do that math, and figure your chance of getting it.

Where else XII went kinda wrong, was that loot drops are RNG based, and some of the best weapons, armor and rare materials can only be found by killing one rare monster over...and over...and over... and over... Until you get lucky and it drops. Those mosters ALSO usualy apear on a RNG based chance, and some of them are tucked deep inside difficult and or lengthy dungeons. The best heavy armor (helm and body, separate monsters) the best ninja sword, the best dagger, the best pole...ugh. To this day, I still have not managed to get them.

Ah, I have heard of those. Never played one myself, though. What platform do you play them on?

Wow. That almost reminds me of getting that. Damn. Gold. Chocobo in FF7. And I believe you HAD to get it in order to get the Knights of the round Table in order to actually kill big baddies like Sephiroth (I could be mistaken. It's been a long time.)

And that's too bad, they are pretty great games. The older ones like Symphonia were only annoying cause the AI was dumb (But hey... I'm sure we've experienced bad AI in most games in some point or another).

I believe they are currently on the Xbox and PlayStation systems. I think some are also on steam.

But I mostly play them on PlayStation

Besides Vesperia which I got on xbox360
