So I imagine you will be creating a new OOC? Just wondering if I should keep the other one subscribed.

@The Kid Lantern So I have a question, do you want to see the first archetypes given as examples as the mains and the second list as the secondary characters?
I ask because I have an idea for space outlaw/bounty hunter that draws on Gamora for inspiration.

@Holy Soldier I am not making a character based on Gamora, I am using that character as inspiration. She is an assassin anyways, I am going for a more of a bounty hunter vibe. I just want to know if @Kid Lantern wants certain archetypes to be main characters and others to be secondary characters.

No he doesn't. The second set of archetypes was originally added when the first were taken in the initial draft. All are fair game for primary or secondary characters.

Oh, thanks for clearing that up! Now to just think of a good reason for a bounty hunter from space being in New Athens. I was thinking if anyone wants to play an alien of some sort that the bounty hunter came here originally to capture them. Being an anti-hero more on the edge of being a villain.

@Jinxlynx Hmm...I think we can help each other out.

I am part of the original game, but I've had a hard time coming up with something to post. I made an Alien-type character who is a hero. Perhaps we can work together on this.

@Jinxlynx Fantasy Chic had previously created an alien character. You could see if she would be up to collaborating a joint arc.

Archetype: The Punisher, Ares, and Captain America? (open for opinion)
Name: Joseph “Joe” Fortune
Alias: Soldier of Fortune
Age: Appears to be in his late 20s.

Powers

Cognitive Manifestation - The Faculty of Imagining or "The Imagination" is the brain’s ability to form new images and sensations that are not perceived through senses such as sight, hearing, or other senses. It is the innate ability and process of inventing partial or complete personal realms within the mind from elements derived from sense perceptions of the shared world. Jean Piaget believed that perceptions depend on the world view of the individual, and that the world view is the result of arranging perceptions into existing imagery by imagination. Joe is capable of projecting his imagination outwards, creating objects which exist in the world but how they are planted in the immediate time and space would boggle the mind of any theorist. Joe uses this ability to become Soldier of Fortune and to perform feats he would otherwise not be capable of. Examples:

  • Flight - Joe cannot summon wings, he does not use forms of energy or magic to propel himself, he cannot levitate, but using cognitive manifestation, he can catch a ride on an F-16 jet, a C-130, or even an Boeing AH-64 Apache.
  • Ground Travel - Being a natural super soldier, Joe can run at most 45 mph. If he desires to go faster, then he can drive a Humvee, motorcycle (military grade), or any other military-grade vehicle.
  • Weaponry - If it exists on planet Earth, then he can wield it, and if it has been used for conquest in the past or present, then he can use it. Joe can wield weapons from arachaic to modern-current. He cannot wield alien technology because if he doesn't know anything about it, then how can he imagine it? This ability applies to other forms of weaponry such as an attack helicopter or a warship.
  • Armor - from the wear of the Centurions of old, to the samurai, and to the modern soldier, it is not unusual to see Joe wearing gear that fits the occasion. If he is in the Arctic, then he can be seen wearing an arctic warfare uniform to keep himself warm, if he is in the desert, then he’ll wear a desert uniform. If he is in a foreign country, then he can be seen wearing the uniform of that respective country. He cannot don the armor of alien military because he doesn't know about them. What he doesn't know or understand, he cannot create.
  • Drones - These people do not exist realistically, but they are real for the moment. They are support personnel that Joe interacts with. They can at times be seen flying the helicopter or the C-130 or driving the Abram tank. They are his soldiers and he is their leader. They typical suit one purpose before they are either killed or they disappear after the mission is complete, such as in the case, they were just dropping Joe off somewhere.
  • Health - Joe carries a medic kit at all times and can render immediate care to help stabilize a fallen hero in battle.

Weaknesses

Dog Tags - They are gold tags that hang from his neck. When they are removed, he is de-powered to the abilities of an average human. The tags themselves are a suppressor-release created by Joe in the case his imagination runs away from him (runs wild). They protect him from madness for without them, he may fall victim to his own creations.

Human Weaknesses - self-explanatory.

Alignment: Walking the Line (due to him not being against killing the enemy if it was for the good of mankind, I would say he is walking the line because several heroes like Daredevil would not agree with this ethic).
Personality:
  • Fearless
  • Disciplined
  • Stubborn
  • Assertive
  • Dutiful

BRIEF Bio: Joe was born in Durham, North Carolina to Frank and Maryanne Fortune. At the age of 4, where a human child’s pretend play becomes more realistic and detail-oriented, the Fortunes overlooked the mysterious toys Joe would play with. He played with stuffed animals, Army men, and even had a cardboard box fortress. Mrs. Fortune assumed that Mr. Fortune had bought him the toys and vice versa. It wasn't until elementary school that the Fortunes started to suspect something was wrong.

When outside playing Army with the other kids, Joe scared the other children when he managed to manifest a M16. The entire playground fell into chaos, while Joe was left frightened and confused. A school cop immediately was on the scene and attempted to separate the boy from the panic when a rescue chopter landed. Several men dressed in military uniforms ran to Joe’s aid and carried him off into the sky. The chopper managed to get Joe home before the police followed and the Fortunes were shocked to see a pararescue team deliver them their child.

When the police arrived, the Fortunes were briefed on what had happened. They found the story hard to believe until Joe generated one of his toy tanks in the front yard except that it wasn’t a toy. Not even a day later, two mysterious suit-wearing individuals arrived at the Fortune residence calling themselves S.T.R.I.K.E. agents. Ever since that meeting, Joe’s life took a dramatic change. He continued to attend school but it was a school created by the government to keep supermen like him in check. They helped him broaden the scope of his abilities, but kept his imagination bound to a specific theme. Their plan was to make Joe the ultimate soldier—and they succeeded.

Storylines:
I am up for anything. It’s pretty broad what I can do with him. If there are other characters who are a part of or who work with S.T.R.I.K.E. (aka S.H.E.I.L.D)., then that makes character relations all the easier.

Notes: None at this time.

Not sure if I'll use the ideas I had before or come up with something fresh. Hmmm.

Also hoping there's a bit more emphasis on the worldbuilding aspect this time really. ^^;

@Holy SoldierLooks good so far, couple of requests though.

Giving him the ability to create inorganic objects like toys, armor, weapons, and vehicles is fine... but creating Extras is too much. The objects can just be controlled by his mind anyway, so it would seem superfluous. Also, with this being an original universe... SHIELD doesn't exist here and the term 'metahuman' doesn't either. I'd just stick with the standard label of being superhuman. If you need a government agency like SHIELD we can just come up with something together as a group. For example... STRIKE: Superhuman Tactical Response Internationally Keen Enforcers. That's off the top of my head, but you get the idea...

If you can work with that then Soldier of Fortune is acceptable. As for Archetype... if he's an Army brat he's clearly a Super Soldier. Just more super than Capt. America.

@The Kid LanternYeah, the Extras were to help explain how everything was moving lol. They don't really serve any other purpose, but do I have to get rid of them? Because by making those machines controlled by simply his mind, it takes away the originality and creativity of it. It's not like they fight for him. They're just support. It would make me have to rewrite his whole BIO to somehow explain how the little kid didn't wind up in juvy.

I mean also, if someone were to shoot the pilot, the helicopter would go down as it would in real life. So...it makes it so he's not using transport infinitely.

I like the sound of STRIKE force though. :)

Eh, I guess I will try something fresh and let the Super Soldier be more... Soldier-y this time. XD

Might see if I can get something worked out revolving around my love of transforming heroes. Like, y'know, Captain Marvel, Kamen Rider, etc. etc. Who knows, if I feel like annoying everyone I might just make a magical girl. :D

But hmmm.
