Warhammer 40k: Trapped Craftworld

“I hear the song of the celestial heavens, and the music is cacophonous. It is strange but I find comfort in its dissonance. Righting the discord of the universal opus is what’s given my people purpose when, by all rights we as a race should have collapsed in upon ourselves. It is in such moments when species find their greatness or settle back into the muck that spawned them... For myself I have purpose if only to correct one particular stray note in a symphony ran amok. Win or lose, this battle is already my victory, my triumph. It is now fate which decides whether I am there to celebrate that fact or not.”
Farseer Taldeer, Craftworld Ulthwé

Ages have passed by, the thousands of years we have traveled, I suppose it was destined for us to find a hardship as we had never faced. Trapped we are in this place our beautiful Craftworld Eexamath Buanneth (Forgotten Gathering) is, I suppose it was time that we must face that which we had wrought by our insistence on being spectators rather than partaking in the events of the Galaxy. This will be our crucible I suppose, the most terrible tasks we have ever undertaken. Our chances to survive are slim, but we must try. We must live on. We must show the Galaxy the Eldar are not going to go meekly away, and disappear. The Monkeigh challenge us at every turn, the traitors come forth from the birthing place of the one who Thirsts. What can we do, but stand before them. Farseer of Eexamath Buanneth

Your Craftworld is drifting, damaged by a sudden warstorm that has erupted in the sector. A mostly Imperium controlled sector you are faced with two choices, wait for the Warpstorm to abate, and hope that the Imperium can hold off the forces of Chaos and not turn their Ire upon the Eldar Craftworld, or take Initiative seeking out a Eldar world now under Imperium control. For it carries hidden technology capable of repairing the Craftworld quickly. Unfortunately this planet known by the Monkeigh as Kestess II is torn by war between the World Eaters, and the White Scars. It will be pertinent to avoid those that you can, while you will have to fight both in order to retrieve these artifacts that can save our Craftworld’s life and all the Eldar aboard it!

OOC

Welcome to the OOC of Trapped Craftworld, where each of the players will be taking on the role of a Aspect Warrior of some kind being sent from the Craftworld to Kestes II to retrieve ancient Eldar Artifacts in order to get their currently damaged Craftworld running again so that they can escape the warriors of Chaos that a Warpstorm is bringing into the System they are trapped in. It will be a tale of heroism, or tragedy depending on players choices as they move through this story and hopefully to succeed in saving their people. Read the rules below. Then read the CS Template and fill it out.

Rules
1. Eldar Race Only, Aspect Warriors Only
2. That being said, no Harlequins.
3. No Canon characters
4. Don’t be too OP. I don’t mind OP in your histories, but no being OP in the RP. You can have done magnificent feats in the past, but I don’t want anyone killing a Daemon Prince of Khorne with a stick.
5. Obey the GMs
6. It’s 40k… Don’t cry over the Grimdark… Also don’t cry if you get your character killed by doing something insane.
7. Worship me? Maybe.. No Probably not. Anyways. Have fun.
8. Also.. Milk for the Khorne Flakes.

[Lays down on the floor] Mooooommm do I gooootta be an Aspect Warrior? I wanna be a Wraithlorrrrddddd.

My whining aside, only being able to play as Aspect Warriors is pretty restrictive. That means no Guardians, Farseers, Warlocks, Spiritseers, Rangers, Wraiths (as I mentioned), or Jetbikers.

I also wouldn't exclude the possibility of any Druchii or Corsairs in the area lending their assistance to the Craftworld; any Son of Asuryan is more worth helping than any Mon-Keigh (unless there is something to be gained by helping the latter).

that would be kind of OP compared to the rest of us. Probably even make some of us outright obsolete by comparison. Plus the fact you would be huge and unable to go many places or sneak around if we needed to.

Not gonna derail the thread over it, but my thought process is that it's basically equivalent to me playing a Dreadnought if this were a Space Marine game.

and i see the comparison. But in my experience dreadnoughts rarely end well or fit in properly either. Or whatever )race and super heavy walker equivalent) you want to make.

And besides, there are alot fo different aspect shrines. And they differ from shrine to shrine within their own aspects. And one could make a fair argument for use of rangers and guardians as a type of psuedo aspect warrior for the purposes of this game. And the jetbikes and pilots are actually aspect warriors. They even have their own shrines and everything.

I think a Wraithlord could lend a different dynamic to a party than a Dreadnought, though. They're far more nimble, elegant machines, and their existence is a more bitter tragedy that suits the Eldar.

You can look into my posting history, I'm generally not one for upsetting games with powerful characters. I just really like Wraiths, and this is the best possible opportunity to play one.

@Dead Cruiser How about a Wraithguard rather than lord, how does that sit with everyone?

The only issue is that Wraithguard are TEQ and work in squads. Don't really work as independent characters.

I'm just working off the obvious Dawn of War 2 inspiration, where a Wraithlord was one of the hero units, alongside the Farseer, Warlock and Exarchs.

No Wraithguard. You have plenty of other options.

Interested! How will we be going about in the RP? Will it be a sort of 'player party' deal, or will we be bringing troops to assist us and so on?

I am a big fan of WH40K but I am going to wait a bit before making my CS because I want to use other sheets as references, since I am a tad unfamiliar with the Eldar since I have not read their novels yet (ironic, seeing as they are my best DoW 2 faction).
