I have 3 character concepts I could try to make/change to fit this RP.

A miner with the ability to sense rare metals and gems.
A Shade, a being made of shadows, who can't do much along the ways of fighting.
A time-traveler who can't get his time machine working.

A Shade, a being made of shadows, who can't do much along the ways of fighting.
A time-traveler who can't get his time machine working.

I love every single one of those ideas! XD

Especially the time traveller, Doctor Who would be way better if the eccentric time lord spent his entire time walking around asking for someone for a lift or parts XD

Hate to be a party pooper, but I'm going to have to shoot the time idea down as it's really a concept this universe wasn't designed for.

I'll have to let IcePezz comment on the other two.

Keep in mind you don't need to make quirky concepts have a magical twist to make a good character.

I imagine the magi is not even visible at this point, and further yet, I am curious as to if he intentionally forced Sakaala out of the way - which is what I seem to take away from it.

It would appear that move was intentional. :)

And yes, I imagine the room practically covered in debris from the effects of a not so small store room coming on it, and there was an existing hole in the floor further destabilizing the room. In fact, I think folks are moving around a little too easy for that mental image to still be fully applicable at the moment :P

Thank you for the clarification, @ArenaSnow and I certainly do agree it seemed a bit more divided, but now that everyone can see your intention, I will further ensure that.

An edit, but I have posted - it is up to @IcePezz if Lady Genevieve is where she was laying before, or if she has teleported herself away to safety. Otherwise, here is your opportunity @Jon Y and @vietmyke to hurry back and gather your things.

I have a sneaking suspicion that staying in the building and hunting down a plot character is certainly not in our favor.

A miner is certainly a concept we can work with. While we haven't added any mines to our lore, I don't see why we can't find a place for one. Though I'm not sure about the 'ability to sense rare metals and gems'. How would a miner have super natural sense abilities? Perhaps the ability/knowledge to identify rare metals and gems, though it seems like that would be kind of a side quirk. It wouldn't do anything to help or hinder, nor would it do any thing to help fit him in.

A shade ... I'm iffy about. Not entirely against, but, we'd have to explore the lore and tie him somehow into the lore of magic, etc...

I don't like judging a character without a full cs, because there is so much that a cs can tell us, including how the character can fit into the story. But, if you could, at the very least, give me a little more information, that would certainly help my decision.

I would like to break away from the dnd structure, so instead of a list of dnd spells and/or skills, it may be better if you narrowed your skills and spells down to the necessities. Or how it could help your character in battles here, in this rp ...

So if you go with a miner, what are the characteristics of one? Strength, ability to see in poor lighting, durability, endurance - not just against physical stress, but toxins, gas, mine dust, etc. These are all natural abilities that not only would be acceptable, but primal to his character, and useful/powerful in the story. It gives him depth, realism, and makes sense; it ties his profession as a miner to his character and offers him a clean and clear spot in the story.

I'm not saying that this is what the character has to be/look like skill wise. He is yours to create. But this is the type of character I'm looking for. The framework, the perspective.

@IcePezz Well, I was thinking the ability would be a gift from a god. Or a mutation in his magic. Or something like that.

I'll opt out of the shade as I wouldn't want to burden @The Harbinger of Ferocity with a bigger waste of time.

And something I've been meaning to ask, my last character sheet, is that the minimum you're going to make me present this time? Not in quantity, in quality. I have a few ideas for the miner that I think would fit in well if completely explained.

@RokkuHoshi again, the ability would do nothing for him in this rp. And the explanation behind it, doesn't fit. Why would a miner possess magic. A miner is nothing more than a person with the profession of mining. It doesn't exactly make sense for a miner to have magical abilities, it takes away from the character in my opinion. I don't like either explanation, but if you can come up with a decent one, that is all that I'm asking for.

To answer your question, yes. I am looking for that level of skill and effort, that detail and explanation. But I am looking for something with a bit of realism and depth. Detail and explanation will add that, but it needs to fit the rp.

Having a magical wielding person that is a miner is a great character concept, for another rp. Not this one.

To chip in, a yea for the CS quality @RokkuHoshi.

On the miner topic... magic coming from a god would at this point need a pretty good explanation behind it as there are no defined gods as of yet in Waeldeshore lore, and it would take a killer explanation for someone with the power to give such an ability to make actual sense (and by someone that powerful, I mean deals with top end demons, some loaded blessing by a higher-end angel as they don't do things for free either, enchantment by a mage)... I don't quite see that one fitting. Mutations of that sort are rather like being struck by (non-human generated) lightning in terms of chance. I've nothing new to add on that IcePezz hasn't put up.

Shade might be a hit or miss concept; depends on how well it hits. Since Harbinger appears to be backing the design of the characters, perhaps we can have a convo as to how that would fit in, GMs and the two of you, to iron out that particular design? It's hardly impossible, just takes a little integration.

@IcePezz Well, with you nixing the miner, the only other chance I could see of him remotely making sense would to make him half-god, which I don't think would fit well with the power sets already out.

@ArenaSnow I like your idea. Yeah, I have plenty of ideas. But, as always, my ideas are subject to change.

I will add the commentary that I intentionally assisted with @RokkuHoshi's most recent submission on the grounds of their request. With the intention of - @ArenaSnow, @IcePezz - helping to establish and solidify the entry as remotely possible within the context of what little lore of the world that I myself know. From the start I acknowledged that the submission might suffer difficulties due to previous canon with dragons in the story.

However, at the same time I need mention I am strictly against multiple player characters per each player. Furthermore of my opinion, and mind you it is nothing more, I am of the agreement an enchanted miner, or child of a demigod, is unwise. Even a "shade" concerns me, largely because of my Dungeons and Dragons expertise. I do acknowledge the effort to "move away" from that design, but I admit it is potentially one of the "safest" and most versatile sources available - it is an excellent starting point.

In short, while I hold no authority, this is the insight I can and do offer for sake of maintaining this roleplay; too much effort by many has been invested into it to risk any damage such as retcons or uncharacteristic elements.
