@Wade Wilson I gave their one popular album a shot, and yeah...literally couldn't get into any of it beside Sweet Child of mine. Still like most of Bon Jovi tunes though. Also yay nightcore. :P

I think for me I hate more songs now that I used to love, than vice versa.

A lot of songs by the group Breaking Benjamin I can't stand to listen to. Not because of any fault of the songs, but because when I went through my 'angsty-teen' phase I listened to them over, and over, and over again. (Until The End by them is probably the best example. Though I still love the intro to the song.)

I have a similar issue with Two Steps from Hell. When I first found them years ago I was so obsessed that now I can't take a lot of their music seriously. Even their newer stuff doesn't jibe well with me. The only song I still love by them is This Must Be The Mothership, but even that's beginning to get old.

My favourite song of all time for a very long time was To The End by My Chemical Romance. I don't hate the song, but for the same reason as the ones above, I just listened to it way too much. I'd still classify it in my Top 50, but that's a huge step down from #1.

The only band I can think of that I used to hate but now love is Panic! At The Disco. Was always more of a FOB or MCR fanboy growing up, but as of late I'm listening to more P!ATD than either of the other two.

God, I had this fucking huge Owl City phase when I was sixteen and it's still in my library because I keep forgetting to PURGE THAT SHIT and every time it pops up I just want to eat my own arm. It's the worst. I also had an eNomine phase, also while a teenager. So much regret. Why don't I purge. Why.

Like, I don't claim to have good musical taste. I'm mainstream pop trash and I am 10,000 light years away from being some sort of music guru.

But owl city, past me? Really? No offense to anyone who likes owl city though. You do you, pal.

But yeah, I dunno. Someone pointed out Oceans of Slumber in a thread somewhere and now I'm into metal I guess. Never liked metal before, but now I'm getting into it.

@SleepingSilence PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

Teach me the ways of liking decent shit, I need help. Get the ambulance and wheel my ass to the ER of musical taste. It's gonna be a long journey to recovery. Dr. Dre is gonna have his work cut out for him but it'll be worth it because at night I'll be able to close my eyes and breathe a silent sigh of relief, knowing that I've left the days of Owl City and Bastille behind me.

Also, I have NO IDEA how this got into my library. Like at all? This isn't even the kind of music I listen to???? What??? Where?

@Fabricant451 I want to refute that but I don't even know who Flobots is and I can't think of a single Fun. song that isn't We Are Young so point made.

@Attis Flobots is a real bad band that wants to be rock rap like Rage Against the Machine but lacks the edge and Tom Morello/Zack De La Rocha combo of RATM. They had like one hit song like eight years ago

Also, I had a huge Eastern European rock/metal phase in high school.

I adored Within Temptation and Nightwish.

Also, not really the same thing but related, but god help me I loved Ramstein. I was so Edgyâ„¢

Well to be fair Two Steps is like the generic Movie Soundtrack Band. You could literally find something like them from any other internet composer out there with access to digital instrument tools, and the means to rough their stuff up enough to make it all sound like it's an actual orchestra and not something they worked out on a piano keyboard in their bedroom.

Two Steps is that band where you can easily buy the rights to to throw their songs into whatever movie you're making, or cartoon. So they're pretty much everywhere in that respect.

On a similar topic: I can't remember why or how but I've always associated Coldplay's "Clocks" to be "that generic movie trailer" song that I thought I once heard in the trailers for Fly Away Home when you used to watch movies on VHS and stuff and get the movie-trailers for films coming out within a year or so after the movie you were watching was coming out.

Now I'm bugged, so now I got to find out why I think this.

@Fabricant451 But but Some nights...I like that song...D: Also that flobot song is the bane of my existence (and my roommate likes it.)

@Undinebutt Because Sabaton is great. :3

@Attis Will throw a couple songs your way. Not sure exactly what your used to listening to. I have a lot of music in mind. I don't want to overwhelm you. lol. xP

Also if you actually Flobots...*cringe* There's a few rap/rock bands. That you might also like. I have those too. lol.

@SleepingSilence omg no dude, I was saying it was beautiful because it made me laugh my ass off. But if you have something that ridiculously bad please don't hold out on me. I like uh, Halsey, Zedd and Neon Trees a lot? Not exactly obscure stuff but you know.

> Another band I used to love but got sick of: Jack's Mannequin. Also AFI. Used to love those guys back in the day but I just can't do it anymore.

@Attis Okay. Lol. Well I'm sure I could find something equally as bad that's similar in genre. Not sure if that's be torturing you to give you a link to it. XP

AFI is a group that despite how diverse they've made their music, from punk rock to alternative rock to industrial/pop. Sadly, these are pretty much the only songs I like from this group...because basically *most* of their songs, last time I tried to listen to a full album, his voice was about 3 thousand decimal tones higher on his other songs. Basically I wanted to like them, more than I actually do. >.>

@Gelatinous Cube i think so! Thank you! Listening to them has made me really happy.

@SleepingSilence definitely share the hilariously bad/ really good music probably somewhere else or in pm since im not sure if that counts as on topic here because holy moly i could use a pick me up and new tunes

On topic: i still love evanessance (sp? jfc) like. I had someone grill me for it but i have such a weakness for ladies with strong vocals.

Used to love florence + the machine, but its on like every 8tracks playlist ever so it's gotten really overdone to me. :c

I like all the same stuff as I liked when younger, cause I never grew up.

The only thing I can think of is maybe certain soul and blues music, I probably thougt was boring when I was little now its great.
