I like a lot of the site layout, it looks nice! I have a couple of questions though:
1) In "skills/abilities" what exactly does "knowledge" means? Just general knowledge, like knowing why the sky is blue and that honey color and flavor varies according to the nectar source? If my character is good at talking to people could I put he is diplomatic/tactful?
2) I never RPed in a site like that. So there are several threads, "London, Surrey Hill, The South Coast and The North", and I should RP IC in the thread where my character currently is? If my character is in London I RP at the London thread?
I know it was actually a lot of questions separated in two groups, but I thought it would be easier.
Anyway, I will start thinking about my character. I have to study this week because I have a major test next weekend, but I will work something out. If I can't this week, then in the next I will write the character sheet, but I will start thinking about it already.

Also, I liked a lot of the name of the RP.

Hiya,

Knowledge would just be general knowledge, yes. I will add diplomatic to the skills list.

And yes, you would RP IC in the location that your character is currently in. I'm going to make sub-boards such as 'the park', 'shopping center', 'hospital' etc. You can move between the boards but it must be realistic (i.e if you are moving from the south coast to the north you would need a vehicle of some sorts.

Hope this helped. Any more questions just ask.

And I have an idea for a character already. I understand you won't be making reservations, right? That's ok, I'll do the sheet when I have time, but I want to ask if the idea would be ok already. I thought about making a training nurse that would have assisted when that 23 year old female was admitted to the hospital. Now he (or she) would still be in the beginning of his training so he wouldn't know much, but how to patch wounds and improvise tissue resting he'd know. I saw your character will be the landlady of a pub, then maybe during the outbreak my character could be at the pub, present at the scene you described. It would be his day off of work and I think he'll live outside London as well, so it would fit. Then we could start the RP with my character helping yours to find her daughter. What do you think?

I was looking through your character sheet and I have a question. Here:
Three positive words people would use to describe you:
friendly, caring, aparhetic
Is "apathetic" right? Because I don't think apathetic fits in the positive traits nor that it fits alongside with "caring". But it's just a question!

Ahh no I meant empathetic haha! I will change that!

Your idea sounds fab, and you can definitely be in the scene with Bella. The character application form should only take you ten minutes. The long History Log is optional.

That makes more sense, haha!

I'm glad you liked it, then it will be it. I'll start working on it as soon as possible. I'm actually not able to focus on studying right now, so let's see if doing something else for a while helps.

That site is very impressive. You really put a lot of work into it (tips hat in a generally easterly direction). I do like that you set it in the UK, that certainly changes things from the normal. I'm guessing that you reside there. I'm going to have to give this some thought, I personally prefer a bit more detail on the characters I play and my lack of real familiarity of the setting wrries me.

One thing I would strongly suggest is that you have the characters at least start in close proximity to each other if not in the same location.

But things look good, now I just have to put my brain to work.

@BorniteYes, that's why I wrote an opwn roleplay thread so people can join in there until we have more members. Thank you for your kind comments. I look forward to seeing your character!

@Bornite, @beccaday02, when I saw it was in the UK I thought the same thing. I think it will be nice to have a post-apocalyptic story that is in the UK and not the US.
Well, I like adding info about the location to my character's backstory as well, but not knowing world geography to details and living somewhere else than common locations for RPs is a bit complicated.

Oh, and I posted my character application form. There you go: norestforthedead.proboards.com/thread/..
Hope he gets accepted :) Oh, and I know the traits I chose may look contradictory, but Adrian is more isolated, he keeps more to himself, but once you get to know him he truly is cheerful and funny.

Edit: I took the liberty to search for these, maybe they'll be useful? Anyway here are two guides I found online.

For anyone worrying about RPing in a location you don't know much about, I wouldn't worry too much. As long as you keep to the basic description (i.e. Don't be in London and say you're looking out at loads of fields) it doesn't have to be 100% accurate. I just thought it would be nice to set it somewhere other than Georgia.

Well, I certainly wouldn't want it to be in Georgia. My concern isn't as much about getting the geography wrong (I can always look stuff up on the web), but more that I'm not sure that I could play a native of the UK without it being a version that looks more like cliches. So I was thinking of being a tourist (using a character I drew up a couple months ago for another game that never got started). Still in the thinking stage.

Yes, they could have been on holiday when it broke out! Or they could have moved to England. But a tourist would be a fantastic addition to mix things up.

Exactly, and your reply shows precisely why. I don't go on holiday, I go on vacation. I eat cookies, not biscuits - except that I do eat biscuits, just not what you call biscuits. Which brings up a question just for my curiosity, what do you Brits call what we Americans call biscuits?

I thought about making a tourist too since English is not even my first language. So, yeah, I couldn't play accurately a native from anywhere except my country.

If I did a Brit, my version would have to be based on a Brit-com, a period costume drama, or a mystery/crime drama - none of which are real depictions I think.

I'm afraid that I've never ventured out of the US before (in real life or online) so this seems like it will be a new experience for most of us! :D

I'm not really sure haha. Scones I guess? Except scones are sweet and your biscuits aren't are they? I don't think we really have your type of biscuits.

Good idea! I like how you use that to give ammo and guns. I don't like infinite ammunition in TV series, it's annoying and unrealistic, so I find it only fair to be like this here too.

I agree entirely. It's always somewhat frustrating when a survival type session assumes that the survivors have unlimited ammo in whatever weapon they carry.

Although I have a question regarding the ammunition system. I'm thinking about having either my current character or a future one using a bow and arrow as a primary weapon. Would the ammo system extend to arrows or would they be an item that would need to be found or crafted?
