@EruditeAssassin There was no call for a Dex save. Against attacks, you compare their strike value to your armour class, losing ties. Now that you have lower AC than the attack roll, you will take the damage.

On the other hand, when you attack you win ties, so you can think meeting the armour class is the aim of the attacker. Dex saves are rolled when the DM calls for a Dex save (as with all saves, really), for example against the spell Burning Hands the saving throw is made. Another example could be falling rocks. I hope I have been of assistance.

I can only begin to imagine how she even attempted this, then failed at it. I mean she did say nothing and they cannot see her given how well concealed she was, so I think fate found it amusing to take those factors into consideration in the most literal of senses, @VKAllen.

I may have got myself into a dead end with the Eldritch Blast as it seems I now have to have Travok yell C'Thun thrice in rising volume every time he uses it. It turned out the cantrip has a vocal component, you see

I guess I'll just have to pick all utility because pretty much anything I could do in combat will just be overshadowed by you other guys. A quick look through the statlines of our Fighter and Paladin told me that they are better than poor Travok in literally every attribute. Did you people have luck of the gods or what? We'll, Devil's Sight is a legitimate option... perhaps eyes of the Rune Keeper... I could just go for everything with eyes in them, be the joke character every party needs.

@Hekazu, it was erroneously a +6, rather it is a +4 to damage hence why the roll was reduced by two, but even then it is a sizable value. My role is mostly striker-defender as it is.

As for my array, one of those is not as it seems, but I did roll quite well overall, so I am finding myself in a good place between the boons of variant human and a feat from it.

You are the party's only dedicated spellcaster, so I would say to run wild with it, perhaps even multiclassing into the Unearthed Arcana shadow themed sorcerer.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity Yah, I might have to abandon my idea of taking some Fighter levels. A shame, but given our already strong frontline I guess I could (and should) deviate from my original plan.

I've been trying to stay up to date with the Unearthed Arcana, but as Shadow Sorcerer does not ring any bells I must've missed it. Would you happen to know of any place where I could easily find all of the UA at?

@The Harbinger of Ferocity Thanks! Due to how Pact Magic works with multiclassing, I probably won't be taking another dedicated spellcasting class on the side but it was a good read. Now I have even more potential characters popping into my mind, most of which I won't get to play thanks to the line already being as long as it is.

From one subject to another, did anyone of you know that once you reach 18th level as a monk you can zoom around at 180 feet per round? 'Cause you have Unarmoured Movement speed of 60 feet, you spend one Ki point to dash as a bonus action and then dash as your actual action, causing the speed to multiply by three. It makes it so you can quite literally outrun a flying (ancient) dragon. Of course this is assuming you play a character with their base speed of 30 feet.
