@TheSovereignGraveIf it's not too much trouble, could I ask you to keep an eye on things?

Sorry the OOC didn't make it up yet, folks. I'm almost ready to board the plane as I type. I hope that you guys keep working on plans for your nations over the next seven days and I'll be seeing you again soon!

Uh, what exactly would that entail? I'm not really used to being anything more than 'just another RPer'.

Well, I just changed the shield for my nation, and I think that the current shield is considerably less ugly than its predecessor.

Apart from that going on for me, I have a question for those I may be role-playing with. I think it'd be interesting to know.

What do you think will happen in your nation if a reformation event happens? I'm just curious.

I'd imagine that in Reheba such a thing would be put down swiftly. Though there are printing presses, and it's within the realm of plausibility that if they are routed on the battlefield, those remaining would try and use the printing press to their advantage. I think it also depends on who takes over the kingdom.

None of it is yet decided of course, but pondering makes for a good way to pass the time.

I would definitely be interested in something like this given the period seems to be reflective of one in which I study as part of my course. Small problem being that I actually need to finish that course via an exam at some point in the coming weeks and I'd rather focus on that. Would there still be a space open in three weeks or so? If not that's completely fine, cheers.

I was actually thinking of such a thing occurring in my nation, probably coupled with a peasant revolt of some kind. The Ardainesch peasantry are perfectly good and pious people, but they've grown to hate the corrupt clergy (if you meet a clergyman in the Ardain higher ranking than just your everyday local priest, chances are he's corrupt in some fashion). It'd probably be put down and put out, though the ambitious individual who starts it could always wait for a moment when the kingdom is thrown into chaos.

I have to apologize. I'm going to have to drop this, as sometimes in the next week I'm going to dropping off the map for I don't know how many weeks.

@Gendarme Due to Cordonova's size and diversity, I'd probably say that a Reformation-type event could definitely take hold, at least in some parts of the Grand Duchy. The western coast is strongly orthodox, but in the Veldt and the south where there's less Ambrusian tradition, and where the people have a bone to pick with the westerners, a definite possibility.

I think it might be fun to read what would happen during something like a reformation. Especially if it's coupled with a peasant revolt. The tensions between those on the western coast and those of the Veldt and the south also sounds interesting.

@babbysama I've noticed that the Kingdom of Reheba and the Grand Duchy of Cordonova are geographically close, and with that being the case I was wondering if we could collaborate on the history of our nations and perhaps some dynastic relations. If you'd like to, I'll send you a PM of my ideas and we can discuss them and your ideas, etc.

If you'd prefer to use the thread to discuss the collaboration that's fine too, but I'm leaning towards the PMs if only for the fact that I felt I may have been cluttering the thread on my previous attempt at collaboration. Thank you for your time.

@TheSovereignGrave In the spirit of collaboration I also have an offer for you, though considering the geographical distances between Reheba and the Kingdom on the Ardäin I'm not sure how much we could do with the history. I'll PM you my ideas if that's alright. If you'd like to use the thread that's alright too, but like I said, I don't want to clutter up the thread too much. Thank you for reading.

Well, if you have any ideas just shoot me a PM then. Though, as you said, distance might be something of an issue. But hey, you're an island Kingdom and I'm on the coast (even if far away on the coast) so some kind of shared history is possible. Even if it's minor and/or a long time ago.

@Gendarme Yeah, I'd love to collaborate on the shared history. I need to get back and finish up my sheet anyway. I don't know why, but the Guild has just been so dead lately.

Some ideas I had is maybe that warriors, in ages past (like maybe even old pagan days), periodically conducted raids on Reheba (especially from the southern coasts), inciting reprisals from the Rehebians (Rehebans? Rehebites?). Maybe that gave the old coastal kingdoms a casus belli, starting a prolonged and intermittent war between them. Eventually, a peace was sealed with a marriage.

Thoughts?

This is the most up-to-date map at the moment (I believe it has everyone on it). But ignore Idorica; they dropped out.

@TheSovereignGrave Corndova is not yet on it, but I suppose that's because Aristo went to Italy before filling it in.

@babbysama I like the concept of a rivalry being ended by marriage. Though perhaps during the medieval period? During pagan times there were really just a bunch of different chiefdoms in Reheba, and a marriage at that time might make one particular chiefdom friendly to those in the south coast of current day Cordonova, but probably not the rest of the chiefdoms, who would probably look at those of the south coast as rivals for siding with this chiefdom.

400 years ago Reheba was united as a feudal kingdom, and the Forentinan religion had taken roots on Reheban soil well before that. Perhaps the marriage takes place then? I'm thinking that such a rivalry would last a long time and evolve after all. If you would like to pursue the idea of doing it during pagan times, I'm sure we could think of something. To me though the medieval period seems to me to be the best option.

Also, I think I'm fond of Reheban.

Hello, friends! I managed to find a brief window to access WiFi and check up on the thread. Happy to see you're still here!
I'm having a great time abroad, but I can't wait to get back to the swing of things and get this running!

@babbysama I was about to begin writing the Reheban perspective of the rivalry and eventual marriage, but I came across a stumbling block. I forgot to ask a question! Seeing as the duchy of Örst in the Duchy of Cordonova has some land on the southern coast, would the primary raiders from current day Cordonova be primarily from Örst? If so, what should they be referred to as? Thank you for your time, and sorry for not asking sooner!
