Yes. Anytime I give a world update, post.

@TheUnknowable

The both of you are about to get a taste of the Calradian economy. Denars will be worth more than they are in the game. For your first job, they will pay decently fairly, so you get an idea of what armed labor is worth.

I'm afraid I'll have to drop this. I've got a long, several week long course coming up, and it's going to leave me with very little personal time.

Sorry! ><''

Well, I mean, you never even joined, so it's not a problem.
@CigarLeone
Accepted, but when you move him over to the CS, I'd like it if you removed the Arming Sword from his inventory. Having two side-arms is a little much, and the Rhodoks love their maces.
@TheUnknowable
Oops, I meant the White Wolfs. They are called the White Wolfs. I edited my post so you don't have to edit yours.

I wasn't sure which, so I used both. Not that Roark would care. Hopefully the Rivacheg Snowwolves sports team doesn't wonder by, or he might crack their skulls to.

If you're reading this Lucius, no pressure. It's only been one day.

Name: Zarya Vadzym
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Physical Apperance:

Backstory: Zarya is the daughter of a minor Veigar nobleman. Her father was merely a warrior of little renown but great skill, and earned his nobility through knighthood. She spent her early years as a mere page, assorting books and items for other nobles. Later when she was but a young woman, her father had her become a lady-in-waiting, serving the wife of Boyar Belgaru, Lady Tejina. Around her 18th birthday, Zarya's father was suddenly captured and executed for treason. There was very little trial and no one told Zarya what exactly her father did. All she knew was that before he was captured, he and a few other knights were sent to the Kingdom of the Nords. After her father's execution, Zarya left the service of Lady Tejina, loss with the sudden death of her father. She has been wandering the countryside since, trying to figure out what to do with herself now that her own family name had been dishonored.

Growing up, Zarya had been taught mostly womanly things, such as literature and horse-back riding. Her father did allow her some amount of martial training however, such as archery. That being said, she's never actually fought before. While she's capable of hitting a target with an arrow, she's never killed a man and hasn't even gone hunting before. However Zarya's true skill lies in her knowledge of medicine and and wordplay. She has been taught how to treat wounds, from a simple paper cut to severed limbs. She also has a way with words and an indomitable charisma, often using her charms to get her way, or somehow exerting a very dominating presence, even for a rather petite girl.

Personality: Zarya has been described as quiet, and there is some truth in it. Zarya doesn't often look for trouble so she keeps to herself, but at the same time she's quiet like a hunter: you'll never see her coming. Like a hunter, Zarya can be crafty, but also brutally efficient. She won't hesitate to cut someone off, either figuratively or literally, if it's what is best. That being said Zarya tends to be rather submissive and doesn't like taking charge, and generally only speaks out to stop a problem, not offer a solution.

Equipment:
Weapons -
Bastard Sword (Belonged to her father)
Short Bow (Large bag of barbed arrows)

Armor -
Sturdy Woolen Dress
Leather Boots

Misc -
Spirited Courser
On the Art of Fighting with Swords

@Ryonara

It's good, but unfortunately there's some problems that might seem minor, but in this particular roleplay have a big effect.
You mentioned the in-game claimant, Prince Valdym the Bastard, an attempt for him to come into power. I appreciate the reference, but he could potentially play a big part of the story later on, and having him wasted on a passing mention in your backstory doesn't seem very fitting.

Another thing, is that your character seems to have an incredibly excellent personality and training. She's good with words, sword, archery, medicine, and horse-back riding. She's also charismatic and has a forceful presence. It's a little too much, if you don't mind me saying.

Finally, she has four books. Books, that are having to hand-written by skilled calligraphers or scribes. Not only are they full of incredibly useful information, but they could be sold for thousands and thousands worth of denars.

Of course, she is a woman, and while that may have some disadvantages in this world, she's also of noble birth and has all of the above abilities.

In the game, she would have like, fifteen out of twenty in all four attributes.

I suppose, she's just overpowered.

I'd be glad to accept if you just, excuse the gamey word, "nerfed" her.

I edited my CS. She now lacks the skill with a sword and is not experienced in fighting. I also limited her to one book, which she'll be using as a reference so she can learn how to fight. As for stats I imagined that she had, from higher to lowest, Cha, Int, Agi, Str. She's suppose to be a more supportive role with her healing and bartering ability, and in battle she'll use hit-and-run tactics with her bow and horse. Eventually she'll be a deadly archer, but until she has more battles under her belt she won't be a very good soldier. Also because of her inexperience, weak armor, and low Str, she's rather fragile and can't take too many hits.

The only thing I'm not certain what to do with is her backstory, since I was kinda hoping to link her father's death to the Prince. I could always just have him killed for other reasons, but it wouldn't have as much of an impact if her father didn't die from something big. For her, it's understandable for her father to die fighting: he's a knight after all. But getting killed for treason puts a lot more stress on her because then people would start questioning her, not to mention that her father would have been "Wrongfully" killed, so she'd leave and maybe have some resentment over the Kingdom of Veiger.

I do sort of imagine that Valdym might be important later on, so the reference to him could influence Zayra's own opinion about him. Would she join him because he was deemed worthy by her father, or would she resent him for inadvertently getting her father killed?

@Ryonara

You did balance her. Now she's good at more passive skills, and less so at combat. Just be warned, I will hold you to that "never been in combat" thing. :P

As for her father, people usually attempt a coup one time. If they fail the first time, they are probably not going to get a second shot. So when it says "Prince Valdym tried to come into power" it implies that he failed the first time. Not only that, but to the lore of this Calradia, Prince Valdym hasn't happened yet. He may never will, we don't know. Two of the three other characters in the roleplay made potential situations for them to deal with, but they didn't drop any names.

There are many other reasons for a man to be executed for treason. Framed by a malicious noble rival, a bad coincidence, or perhaps actual treason. With not such a black-and-white "he was a rebel" execution, I can imagine much more potential character development regarding her father's death. She may begin to doubt herself on whether or not her father actually committed treason.

I suppose I can allow you one book. Just don't go to a pawn shop and sell it right away. I'll be very upset with you. >:(((

I changed it to be more vague. Now she simply doesn't know why her father was executed for treason, and holds some resentment over it. This way it'll be more open ended as to what her father did and whether or not he was rightfully killed or not.

And don't worry, she won't be selling that book for a long while. It's a precious memory of a time more innocent and promising.
