Personality: Sophia ended up with an egg color that usually goes with dark magic, which seems rather unbelievable. She's a timid girl who wouldn't be the type to go out killing things if she didn't feel threatened. She's always been shy in large groups, but tries to make up for it by being a bit louder when she's around fewer people. She has a terrible sense of humor, not that it ever stops her and can come off a little rude because of that. Timid may be a word used to explain her, but she doesn't have much of a filter between her brain and mouth when she's actually talking.
Likes: Reading, winter, flowers (how unfortunate she can't grow them), the way that eggs look when they're just about to hatch and there are little cracks running through them.
Dislikes: Heat, hand to hand combat (Not that she won't kick your ass from far away), cats, and the way people look out others with black dragons.
History: Sophia doesn't have some sob story about how she wanted to get away from her family. Her father was a dragon rider until he got seriously injured and his dragon actually ended up dying. She was a beautiful dragon and Sophia loved going out to see her and when her dad would take her on rides. It was only natural that at eighteen she would enroll in the academy and try to find an egg of her own. Her mother wasn't sure it was the best after her father almost died, but she promised not to get hurt and that if she hadn't found an egg by the age of 21 she would go home.

Weapon of choice: Compound Bow and Arrows

Personality: Callum isn't afraid to speak his thoughts if he believes something to be right, no matter how much opposition he has. He enjoys reading, and even after he gets his egg, he hopes to learn more about Dragons and Dragonlore. Though he likes reading he's not timid and always ready for an adventure.

Likes: The Ocean, Waterfalls, Fish, Reading, The Color Blue, The Forest, Rain, Friends.
Dislikes: Solitude, Lonliness, Prejudice.

History: He never knew his mother, and his father was a business man who was easy to up set, tended to rub people the wrong way, and sometimes came off as a bit of a racist, which he was. Sure Callum looked up to his father, but not to some of his beliefs. Living right outside the city and the academy, Callum thought it would be a great way to get a breath of fresh air from his father, as well as meet new friends, which he was always eager to do. After two years at the academy, he's now ready to become what he's always wanted to be, a Dragon Rider.

History:
Julia grew up in a small village where not many people even recalled knowing about Dragon riders. She was secluded and didn't much like it. When she was fifteen her family learned of her natural affinity towards fire magic when she accidentally burned a neighbor child. Her family accused her of witchcraft and Julia left. She began wondering the country and eventually heard of the academy. She applied and gained entry. (Is this okay? I'm just not sure when the magic comes into play? If not I'll change it)

History: while she has a normal boring past she doesn't like to talk about them, currently mad with them. This encouraged her to pursue her life long dream, to work with dragons.

Type of egg they've gotten: A plain, white egg that sometimes can look like a rainbow in certain lighting, somewhat similar to an Opal.
Magic Affinity: Air
Weapon of choice: Shuriken and a dagger, can use a sword but it's not her first choice.

Personality: Athena is quite docile and calm, willing to listen to others and give them unbiased opinions and help. She keeps a level-head and is hard to anger, unless you catch her in one of her moods. She has quite low confidence, and retreats within herself when given compliments. She doesn't take well to failure, and can hold one hell of a grudge. Being quite quiet, she doesn't often engage in conversation and instead nods or hums in response. She will most likely not start a conversation, and will wait for someone else to do it. Like the wind, she can be considered a free spirit, and can go from calm to fierce in merely seconds. She feels most comfortable outside, more specifically under a tree, and gets antsy when she's locked inside for a long time.

History: Athena is a Korean-European, and grew up being isolated by others due to her ethnicity. She gave up on trying to make friends, and instead spent her time in nearby forests, hunting birds to sell. She wanted to save up for university, as she wanted to study dance as well as literature. The first time she encountered her magic was when she was about to be hit in the face with a ball, hard. But instead it ended up narrowly missing her, and swerving, landing next to her despite nobody touching it and no wind that day. She was unsure exactly what it was, but had a feeling that it was something.

So she practiced during her hunting, but didn't get very far due to not knowing what exactly was happening. She tried putting herself in dangerous situations to see if that would trigger it, such as running in front of balls knowing she'd get hit if she didn't deflect it. It only happened two other times, but she did it.

When she turned eighteen, she left her home and went in search of somewhere she could train her magical potential, and found her dragon egg whilst searching for the place. After merely a month, she found the academy, and enrolled.

Personality: Clara is a bit of an odd ball. She's wrapped herself in a cloak of mystery. She hides behind fortellings and slight of hand to dazzle and bemuse. She's always watching people around her but she doesn't often volunteer to speak. However if you get her to open up she'll whisper tales of wonder and glory in your ear before sending you off. She thrives on secrets.

Likes: Palm reading, singing, telling the future, secrets and dragons

Dislikes: The feeling that she's been seen through, being trapped, being helpless and being alone

History: Clara and Drago were born to a band of gypsies. Since a young girl she learned the secrets to fortunetelling and deceit. She also learned that magic comes in all forms and to never look a gift horse in the mouth. As a young girl she was a trouble maker, often getting her tribe run out of towns. As she aged she began to look at the world outside their trade routes. Often, overhead, souring dragons snatched away Clara's imagination. So when she turned 19, the age of independence, she left to join the Academy in hopes of being a Dragon Rider.

Personality: Drago is a charming young man. He's always chatting about something. He's also always smiling. But his smile makes you feel like there's something you don't know but he does. He likes to flirt with everyone, men and women, but it never goes further than that. He's quite a friendly person but when you stop and think about the things he shares you'll realize not once has he shared anything personal.

Likes: Tarot, being the center of attention/showing off, telling the future, being with his sister

Dislikes: Drowning, being trapped, being helpless and being alone

History: Clara and Drago were born to a band of gypsies. As a young boy Drago could always be found trailing after his adventurous sister. Most people mistook Drago for the adventurous one because he was always chatting about everything. Drago, unlike his twin, was content with the knowledge he'd remain with the tribe and eventually raise children of his own. But when he realized that Clara's path lead elsewhere he was also content to follow her into the unknown.

Weapon of choice: Andy's weapon of choice is a small dagger and a bow and arrow. Her bow is made of the finest ivory and engraved with her favorite flowers, daisies.
Personality: Matching her love of flowers, Andy is very sweet and kind, hardly on to fight with anyone else. She would much rather sit down and talk it out than use her bow to solve any problems. However, she does have a fighting side to her that only comes out when it is absolutely necessary when she has no other option than to use her skill with a bow and with her agile figure to win a confrontation. She enjoys a good laugh and anything sweet to the taste, including her men. She is a tremendous flirt.

History: At the age of 18, Andy's parents, dragon riders themselves, sent Andy to the academy to continue in the family tradition. Despite the disapproval of some of her family members who claimed the academy was a "waste of good rider blood" and was a "Lazy alternative to working hard to find her own dragon" Andy joined the academy and flourished in her studies immediately. After a few years she did not lose hope of finding her dragon but instead focused on practicing her natural skills in earth magic and has become very good at healing things and making flowers bloom.

Weapon of choice: Rapier and a simple broad sword.
Personality: He's always energetic and excited though he does have a few anger issues if someone pushes him too far. He tries to be a good person and a decent friend, but he obviously messes up a ton. He's not the smartest, but he tries. He's not that good at anything really, but he stays optimistic.
Likes: Dragons/dragon riders, people who help others, family, and talking.
Dislikes: Selfishness, anybody who abuses anything, and pride.
History: He didn't have any relatives who were dragon riders, but one day when he was about eight, he was playing tag with his brother. They started chasing each other towards a nearby cliff side. After a while he managed to tag his brother... This caused his brother to stumble and fall off the cliff. He would of died then and their if it weren't for a dragon rider getting him after he fell. His brother died a few weeks later from injures. It was then Drake deiced he would become a dragon rider.
Looks: A decently light skin color with short and slightly frizzed light brown hair. He has a few freckles on his face though not many. He has deep hazelnut colored eyes with an average head shape. He's about 5"8 ft and 150 pounds. He's obviously not very muscular. He has average length arms and legs. (I can list a regular outfit if you want)

Personality: Peyton prefers to sit alone either under or in a tall willow tree, away from people and away from all the noise and commotion. She has a slight attitude problem and she is not afraid to tell people what she does/doesn't like. She loves animals more than most people, and she has some slight trust issues when it comes to letting people in to her circle of friends. However, once you get to know here she is very sweet and soft spoken. She has an eagle eye with the bow, and can hit almost any mark with her throwing knives.
Likes: animals, chocolate, anything of the dessert variety, and the smell of old books
Dislikes: deep water, arrogant people, and destruction
History: At the age of 18, Her parents were murdered by a rogue passing through their town. Without any signs of finding an egg for herself, and having no one else to turn to, Peyton applied for the Academy, secretly hoping to find somewhere that she actually feels accepted.

Looks: 5'9", 170 pounds. His face is weather beaten and he appears older than he actually is. His short, very straight and professionally combed brown hair is often obscured under a rattan stetson with a dry and dead rose tucked into the hat band. His slightly small and narrow eyes are a violent shade of green, and he appears to be a very, very tired man.

Typically wears Carhartt boots, old and beaten jeans, plaid shirts, and a thick beige leather jacket.

Name: John MacLeod

Age: 24

Type of egg they've gotten: A true-black egg. It absorbs all light that strikes it, rendering its details invisible to the eye, but it feels very rough and scaly to the touch.

Magic Affinity: Dark

Weapon of choice: If forced to fight, he uses his great-great grandfather's repeating rifle, rechambered for .45LC, and a bowie knife.

Personality: He's often viewed as a quiet, thoughtful man by those who don't know him. Truth be told, he's just not paying attention. His thoughts are turned towards his music more than anything else, these days, and when given a chance, he will pull out an old, worn-out blue acoustic guitar and start playing along with the music in his head.

He dislikes fighting, but he won't hesitate to argue - but this sort of thing tires him out greatly. Everything about him feels broken down and worn thin, even if he tries to put forth effort into everything he does and be friendly to others.

He is slow in speech, slow in thought, and slow to forgive. He never forgets, and tends to have vindictive and petty thoughts about those he dislikes, even if it often feels like it's too much effort to act on it.

Likes: Melodic death metal, folk rock, apples, sleeping, people, good bourbon, and though he refuses to admit it, being close to others and hugs.

Dislikes: Jerks, cheap liquor, eating meat, history lessons, gardening.

History: He discovered his affinity for dark magic one day when he was watering a rose bush he had planted on his mother's grave. The roses died instantly, and he took one of them as a keepsake, taking it as a sign that he should move on and work harder to keep her spirit happy. He would have chosen another element if he could, but when he thinks back on it, it's really not surprising. He had been shut in for months after his mother's passing, only getting up to make sure the crops were still growing.

He began to focus on his music, playing shows at bars for cash. At his home, what had once been a cattle ranch, the grass had been slowly dying off over a period of several weeks. Every time he played with all of his heart and soul, a weak thunderstorm grew around him and wilted the land, just as it had with his father.

It took him months to realize what he was doing, and ventured to the academy where his father had gone, to gain control over his affinity and find a suitable egg. The egg seemingly came to him instead.
