I've noticed that I often write my posts in a bizarre way: I start them out well written and with great effort, but as I go on I got more and more weary and sick of it, and tend to rush as I near the end, leading to a dip in quality. Part of it is probably that I tend to write them at the last minute and get impatient to post them.

Do you guys have the same thing? How do you deal with it?

Occasionally when I look at the time and realise it's late at night. However I am willing to sit on it til the next day if I don't believe I can end it quickly. It just depends on what's happening, how much is written and if others are waiting for me.

So for the most part, no, but I have done it before.

Used to. Now RP I am in is so slow I can take time to do things right. Outlining, second drafts, and outside editing. The whole deal.

That would imply I'm fast at writing. lol. I'm a sloth when it comes to writing out my ideas...

I usually always run my stuff through spell check, which is fairly simple and -should- be done by everyone that writes frankly. But I do miss things sometimes, from lack of obsession. And sometimes I don't feel like writing too much, so I make things a bit brief. But I think 'rushing' isn't the right word.

I have on occasion when I start to think my post is becoming too long, of especially if I'm writing late at night or I'm so over tired that I cannot sleep.

We generally don't rush posts, as we always end up regretting doing so. Or at least we do so in short stories when we run out of time.

Normally I don't, I tend to prep posts out ahead of time. Now if I am collabing with someone I know who is on a limited posting schedule I will hammer my parts out quickly so they can get as much done while they have the chance and don't have to wait on me if I can help it.

My OCD doesn't allow me to rush anything...

I need to outline my posts, then I'll flesh it out and structure it into readable paragraphs (I hate walls of text), then I read & re-read again, make necessary corrections, and then copy/paste (from Word) into posting field while hovering my finger over the "Post Reply" button until I'm happy...

...Yeah.

I have rushed out posts due to either being tired, in need of getting to class, or some other reason. Sometimes I have needed to post an important story post but didn't feel like making it so I rushed it out.

If I'm on a timetable, then yes I rush things. I've also noticed this happen to me when my interest in a RP gradually begins decreasing and I just stick around hoping I can salvage it.

I don't rush things but my quality of writing waivers all over the place. I have never been to the point of complete crap, just that I don't detail things as much as I should or talk about what they are thinking or feeling much of the time. When I do give more details then everyone wins, if not at least it is not below average. I also tend to avoid big words and so simple words are used to get to the point, rarely big words are used.

If my partner starts to get lazy with a string of one-liners to one-word posts, my writing ability remains good for a while before just giving in and giving them average stuff.

I sit around with my thumb up my ass sometimes, others I might go to write and get distracted and a post takes three times longer than it needs.
