Right, about the compatibility chart, I wasn't really planning on having Jae get along with anyone in specific. While that fits the Ox, I was also not really planning on having him get along with those the compatibility chart says he should get along with. Could I get away with that?

@Buddha You could :3c. Like the chart says it's "usually best compatibility," so it doesn't mean it has to be set in stone.

It's not that I want him to be straight up a cunt to everyone (but that's how it usually turns out) but more like he just wouldn't be interested in them. I imagine for those he has 'compatibility' with he'd be less of an asshole, but still not that interested.

I guess I'll just see how it plays out. Any ETA on the IC? I'm kinda itching to get started.

@Buddha I'm guessing maybe half an hour or so, I spent a couple hours last night planning how I wanted events to flow and getting started on it. Depending how fast my fingers can work on the second half of the post it should definitely be up by the next hour :3c.

Having written IC intro posts, they're generally long. If they're not long you're not doing it right. Plus you had to write for your own character as well. I think you did a fine job. x)

@Buddha Thank you ;u;. I was worried some people would be like "gotta blast bye" as soon as they saw the post length. I do tend to write more than I probably should because I've written novels fanfictions more than roleplays recently, but I'm working on it.

@aeuternus I started off before guildfall, writing Naruto RP posts with 2-3k characters per character I wrote for. I roleplayed about 2-3 characters per roleplay I joined.

Now I advanced to the point where 6k characters is more or less the standard, however that means I can't really play more than 2 characters anymore.

It's just a matter of perspective. I don't mind if people post short or long, as long as they post something that makes sense to read, is interesting and somehow advances things. I don't want to read about your character 'going to get a hotdog' and doing nothing else. I could write a 10k character post on buying a hotdog, but nobody would be interested. I can write 2k characters on a response to a fight or a conversation and it'd be more interesting to read than before mentioned 'hotdog post'.

All RP'ers are equal, it's just how you look at posting preferences. That's just my stupid vision anyway.

@Buddha I started off doing script-type RP and oneliners with friends when I was, what, maybe 6-7? On the forums of those kiddy virtual pet sites. After my friends vanished I started writing fanfictions and such to improve my writing skills, dabbled in a little writing for otome games, went back to fanfictions and now viola..

I agree on the whole hotdog thing though, quality over quantity. I'd rather read 2k characters about something interesting like you mentioned than just, size, shape, colour, texture, of a hotdog, bread-bun, mustard, ketchup, and every detail on the hotdog vendors face.

I had originally typed out an example but it reeked of innuendo.

Once everyone gets one or two posts in, introductions and perhaps roommate socialising, things will get put in motion for orientation where some people will be forced to pair up 8D (I'm anticipating everyone will do around 3-4 posts on this, depending on post speed and size). After that there'll be some free time for people to do what they want, delve into their characters' hobbies and friendships and such (Another 2-3 posts or so, depending on what happens), and then towards the end of the day an optional astrology club meetup on the school roof for those who want to since i'm imagining the current day as a Sunday (Perfect for orientation and settling in before classes the next day) (and those who dont want to partake can just send their chara to sleepytimes).

@aeuternus It might be wise to actually start out with a small event. Like maybe club sign ups. Since the astrology club is probably not a long existing club (or is it?) perhaps it gives us a reason to have characters come together and, like, start a conversation. Otherwise people will be off RPing in their own corner and it removes some interaction.

I'm not sure though. These RP's typically evolve some form of interaction regardless, so perhaps I'm just worried for nothing.

@Buddha Well I'm always open to ideas :3c. In my mind I had imagined club signups wouldve been done at the same time applying could've been, like filling out on their application form what clubs and such, but I see no reason why club signups couldn't be put forward as an event to get everyone to mingle some. I'll sleep on it, it's 10am and I haven't slept yet huuuu ;;. I've also been subjecting myself to terrible puns as punishment for losing a dare, so my creativity isn't at its peak. My main reasoning was I wanted this to be a kinda low-maintenance RP that didn't involve waiting on people too much, like spread-out events rather than multiple close together and then smaller interactions between smaller groups, so less waiting, but wow this is getting long.

@Termott Thanks for letting us know! ;u;. I won't wait for you before moving things on, but I'll hold off on advancing too far. She can always make a dramatic entrance and be fashionably late, descending from the sky sort of thing.

So while I eat a whole tub of icecream and then zonk out on my bed for a couple hours, don't be afraid to input ideas :3c. How does everyone like the idea of having a club signup?

@aeuternus I mean, that'd mean the school has to provide a list with all clubs or possibly a website where every club has a page. Otherwise how can you get oriented on what is there? Maybe a large fair in the first few days of school where clubs have booths and shit? So like, Jae wouldn't have to bother signing up for martial arts since he's a returning member (or he would've done that before going back to school/the end of last school year) but for astrology club, it'd be a different story, since he's a new member for that club.

@Buddha Yeah I get what you mean 8D. I'll think of a way to make it flow in somewhere, most likely taking over the place where the orientation would be or straight after (Eg everyone getting a tour and brief of the school then being let free to roam in a room and sign up for clubs like letting a huge cage of butterflies go and perch on flowers). Or perhaps before, in a vice-versa manner (Signing up for a club then going around orientation with the people in the same club, but I can see issues with that since people have 2 clubs)

@aeuternus Well, I'm clueless. For the RP's sake it might be easier to just say people signed up ahead of time. Maybe there were orientation days before the actual school start (like an open day where clubs promoted their club.)?
