Hello once again everyone, I am about to start working on an incredibly indepth Lord of the Rings roleplay that will begin six months before the timeline of the novel. Eventually, the story will catch up with the novel and run alongside it. We will have our own challenges, trials, and adventures through the story. This includes aiding with the inevitable downfall of Sauron. Currently, I am rereading all of the books to catch up on the lore and make sure I am prepared for the monumental task at hand. Due to the fact that everyone makes mistakes and I am in no way a professional in the lore of Middle Earth or J.R.R. Tolkiens writings, I am currently looking for people to help me write up the story. I welcome any constructive criticism, advice, guidance, ideas and help in general. Would any of you be interested in assisting me? Would any of you be interested in joining such an RP once it is created and posted on the forums?

I've only watched the movies. Can I still join or do we need to have read the books?

@Derpestein It's recommended that you have read the books, but yes the movies are fine as well. The lore is very extensive, going to paste some links here to help out.

I would recommend Tolkiens "The Silmarillion" which is basically an encyclopedia/bible on all things Middle Earth. It talks about the very beginning of creation to the departure of the elves from Middle Earth. The book is written very well and is extremely helpful/informative.

We will be a multi-racial group of course. Still working on how we are all going to meet up, I have a couple ideas I am tossing around. My friend and I were considering having the RP start out in Lake Town. (So much work to do here, will keep everyone posted.)

Yeah, but I've got a lot on my plate right now I'm afraid. As soon as things in my life start trundling along again I may see if I can intercept with a new character to join the renowned heroes! Or maybe plot hook them! Or other joys of life

@Andromedai I am ever a sucker for a good Tolkien-based RP, as well as versed in more-or-less everything that is Tolkien as well. Therefore, if you do need any help and so on, I'd be more than willing to share the loooad. Apart from that, I'd also be happy to join the group of Adventurers.
