@vosenedich You lost me there. What is it you'd want Min-jae to do? I'm down for it regardless though.

I'll work on a post today, but the general idea is that The Head of Engineering doesn't want an unauthorized AI automaton running around the bridge and surrounding areas, much less getting involved in maintainance of the ship. But since's he's just been told he's got admin access, he'll call it in with security and order Archimedes to stay with them.

Long story short, Archimedes is gonna be sent to Min-jae cause it's an annoying robot and it'd better stay under surveilance. Also, Min-jae will probably get told off by the Head of Engineering for the lax security.

@The Spectre Fair warning, I'm going to be completely invalidating Kevin's fear of being alone in the Archive, as it's definitely where 90% of Benjamin's work would be done. You might consider adjusting his concern about being alone as it's rather unlikely the two haven't crossed paths yet working in the same area.

@Sep I was totally excited to nerd out over plants. Plants. I love them so.

If I ever find the time, or something else falls through, I will happily return. Thanks.

Sleep well!

Writing a new post. More of Jameson and , @Sep willing, some very heavily monitored exploration on the ship? A few questions. Would Jameson's cell just be a regular room with a heavily door? Or is there a brig on the Vitae? Also, if it just a reg room changed to hold a prisoner, would it be near the rooms of other passengers?

What I envisioned when I thought of your predicament was an average room but just with a guard standing out and a door with a extra security measure or two. You still have the normal room of any of us just with a bit more "eyes on you" at all times.

@Sovi3t Hmm. That makes sense. Also I haven't seen this question asked, and it's kind of part of my post, but where exactly is the Ark located when the loading began? Like, I wrote it like it was a quick drive from the prison to a loading station, but I realized I had no idea how close it was to my prison. And with that, how did people get on the Ark? Was there a big fuck staircase like I wrote, or what?

Again from my perception, the Ark was located in Africa at first where it was made, assembled etc, with probably either stairs, elevators or some other futuristic way of transporting people. You probably flew in via a private jet before being escorted towards the Ark.

Ah, @Xandrya, I see you already pulled in a bartender character. Mind if I borrow him for my post, or would you rather make it a collab or something along those lines?

Edit: oh and I was wondering one more thing. @Sep, I believe I read somewhere that there is no money in this place. If that's true that would change quite a few things (like petty theft for example). Is there still a currency system of sorts, or is everything available to everyone?

@obisemkenobi Go ahead and use him as you wish, Mel will be the quiet, lonely drunk sitting all the way back in the last barstool.

Also, I remember reading somewhere that there's some form of currency used, but don't fully take my word for it.

And lastly, a question of my own. How are various crimes such as felonies and misdemeanors treated here?

As I see fit, I suppose :P Maybe it's the security chief's responsibility, but I'd say for the small stuff Nick is probably responsible. He's by the books, but he also knows this is quite a special situation so he'll just sort of wing it. For the smaller things at least. I presume there is also something like a cellblock, or maybe the quarters can be locked from the outside to be used as such, as is the case with Jameson. Perhaps stuff like limited supplies and the likes. Good question though... @Sep, any details?

Well, there you have it. It's not the best thing I've ever written, but at least it's a character now, instead of a walking monologue going through a hallway. I'm even starting to like him.

@Firecracker_ the ship will have a brig, but it'll be a more short term basis thing, to make your introduction work perhaps you were originally brought in it before being relocated to secure quarters? Yes these quarters will be near other people.

@Firecracker_ elevators, escalators, vehicles and even the hangar bays will have been used.

@obisemkenobi basics are on an as needed basis while anything extra is on an allowance. Also Nick will be more, after the crime if the perpetrator managed to get away or to check if everything is not as it seems.

@Xandrya being locked in the brig or confined to quarters are both possibilities with the latter being less serious obviously. Really extreme crimes such as multiple homocides could result in the death penalty or being switched out with someone in the cryo trays.

In small crimes such as drunk and disorderly well, no more alcohol for you!

I think I got everyones questions, overnight question are the worst xD. If any of it doesn't make sense just go 'Oi Sep you weren't quite woken up you barmy fool, try again'.

Ok, just kidding. Just to be clear though, when there isn't some unsolved major case, what does my character do? What tasks on a day to day basis would fal under his juristiction as opposed to, say, the chief of security's?

Also, @Buddha, nothing if they're done well and give you that 40's noire private I feeling. Mine didn't :P

@obisemkenobi I am sure with 100,000 people you will keep busy, you still get to enforce security after all but also with tension being high and old enemies working together sure people will be accusing eachother of shit all the time.

@obisemkenobi I'm guessing your character will be able to work with regular security in an assisting role. Probably not going around shooting criminals, but I'm sure he can act as a security advisor to the head of security, or something of the sorts.

Detective expertise is always welcome, because detective-ing requires a specific train of thought that can be applied in a lot of things.

As far as I am aware, @Sep is expecting us to NPC our way around plot points until he throws major plot points at us.

I will also occasionally throw little fish too! Also interactions always fun, as well as character development.
