Meanwhile I write a post for another RP and I will be swinging back around to this when I finish some other writing obligations.

Just so no one thinks I'm dead or anything, I know I have the posting opportunity.

Well, that's good. I am continuing to work on my sheet, but is there anyone else here but the three of us? There hasn't been too much activity. Even the GM hasn't been online in a week.

I think they're afraid of commitment or are poor judges of effort allocation.

Wish I could say, but neither GM or mod has noticed I think.

I believe it's time to kick up a storm!

If I'm going to be personally honest, seeing the GM suddenly go MIA for days if not weeks at a time isn't exactly very comforting/motovating.

Still will try to make a concerted effort to wrap up my NS tho and maybe post.

We also have a Co-GM that can do his functions without him. So where's Nerevarine?

Depends if Nevarine will actually do his job if Polish King won't come back soon. Nevarine's been active on the forum, but just hasn't come here to do his co-GM responsibilities.

Anyone feel comfortable PMing him? I can if no one else will.

@Sovi3t

We are trying to establish whether or not that is the case. Hold that idea!

Why hasn't anyone just mentioned @Nerevarine yet? I mean, at least this way he'll get a notification.

@NerevarineI might be interested, too.
I have multiple ideas but I have a question regarding tech.
We are regressed to medieval levels, sure. But what level of medieval? 12th century? 15th century?
For example I have a feeling that guns would be far more common still because all the stuff lying around to assist it.
Also catapults throwing nuclear waste digged up from the ruins of a former reactor or its dumping ground.

And then everyone fell crippled to acute radiation poisoning and no one could pull the lever.

@Willy Vereb

I figured we would be starting around the 12th century, with guns being a mild rarity and the production of more advanced guns being a lost art.

Biological warfare and use of nuclclear waste fits right in with a pseudo medieval setting

Actually nuclear waste would be as harmful, if not more to the attackers on the given basis what'll be thrown won't be in well contained units anymore, if they can even get to it. A lot of nuclear waste emits enough radiation to make someone immediately cripplingly physically ill and disoriented (about 1 sievert).

Plus it goes rightly against what makes warfare an incentive, taking land. If you're throwing around canisters full of nuclear coolant waste you're easily polluting the soil you want to take over. That is if anything can actually leave the catapult (rusty metal drums don't tend to fair well when forced to go through sudden acceleration with a trebuchet or catapult, it'll be likely they explode as you soon as they're thrown).

Yeah, after I wrote it I thought: "Man, this would be so much riskier to attackers unless they do it really-really well".
It sounds like a fun idea to explore in the setting but realistically it'd be a nightmare.

@Willy Vereb
I figured we would be starting around the 12th century, with guns being a mild rarity and the production of more advanced guns being a lost art.
What separates early-mid medieval ages from late medieval ages can be often narrowed down to guns and metallurgy.
Actually, metallurgical developments weren't even new that big since other cultures had blast furnances prior. Guns and chemistry are a similar deal or the idea of military drills.

We have random pieces lying around which people can use as inspiration. I think it does make sense if people catch up with them.
Not saying we'd go beyond the medieval setting but for example seeing a modern gun would put the idea in people to make their medieval weapons shaped more like that. Which is strangely means in a certain aspect that leads to hundreds of years of leap in gun development (firearms took a "gun-like shape" by the 16th century). Mechanism of a modern gun can also help people inventing mechanical locks for guns earlier.
With 12th century developments things are still rather crude in quality but the above for example still aid them to create better tools.
Also it'd lead them to make plate armors and more decent quality metal products early.

Those are just my thoughts on the matter.

Really the only big limiter on fire-arms would realistically be the lack of industrialization making automatic fire-arms or even some semi-automatic weapons far more expensive to utilize than not. We're looking at a world now where any ammunition made would be hand-loaded on a bench and not flying through a conveyor built system that puts the primer in the casing and the bullet over the primer at a rate of a hundred a second. It'll be a world where bullets would be hand made at a rate of maybe a hundred every five-minutes. You could easily assemble a fully automatic weapon but using it would be a nightmare to the pocket book, you could use up a large part of your armies supply wagon firing a machine gun to kill five people.
