Michael had been watching the Vitae's launch alongside his creators. The android had folded his hands behind his lower back and stared from his vantage point with great curiosity. The admiral's speech was inspiring, the man had honestly with his words. This mission the vessel was going on would not be easy. All aboard were chosen for survival of the human race, his creator's race. He had been specifically created for it as well.

He had never set foot on Earth, or even seen it in person but it was humanity's home and there was a certain sadness in leaving one's home that hit the android hard. He had the ability to let tears loose and very nearly did. Then the moment of sadness was met with one of fear as a huge organic vessel appeared. The Devastators, it matched the recognizable designs of their ships tucked into his archives. He wondered about them, the mysterious beings that assaulted humanity seemingly out of the blue during the Three Day War.

They simply mercilessly attacked and annihilated all in their path. Their motives were unclear even to the advanced android with a super-computerized mind. They weren't like the barbarians that pillaged the Roman Empire, those groups had reason for their assaults. They plundered, the Devastators just simply killed. They did not try to communicate with humanity, voice any demands. It was such a violent way to do things, almost animalistic in nature.

He feared he would never be able to understand them, humanity had to get far away from them in order to survive. But still his curiosity was peeked, did the strange race have culture? Was there art? Or were they just machines programmed to destroy, like a twisted version of himself. Michael's thoughts were interrupted as the Vitae was rocked and he almost fell over. He was however able to stop himself and stood standing.

"Move! Get to the safer parts of the ship!" A security officer screamed at him and the others. Michael did as was requested and jogged back to the lift he had come up on. As it lowered downwards his last sight was of the massive Devastator ship as the human forces prepared a counter attack. The android just hoped the ark would survive this conflict. For the first time in his life, Michael felt genuine fear.

For a moment, silence reigned the near-empty corridor that lead to the bridge, as Archimedes stood there, awaiting the command of its current active user. The Head of Engineering, Kazuhiro, looked down at his PDA, devoid of notifications besides a note from his assitant: 'Lift-off. All stations nominal.'. "Monica, why is there a assist-bot following me around?" he asked in a stern sarcastic tone. "I don't have any mechs assigned to you, Chief. Can you get me an ID?" the voice came clearly into the man's earpiece. "Piece of junk, give me your ID." the man was not in the mood for a rogue bot going around and wasting his time, that was clear.

"Serial: 4-r-c-h-1-M-3-d-3-Z. Active alias: Archimedes." the robot complied immediately, its chasis uncannily static despite the delay in the innertia dampeners.

"You got that?"

"Yes, Chief. One moment please..." the awkward moment of silence in the hallway resumed as the man tapped one finger on the PDA impatiently "...I have him registered to a civilian on Level 1-B. Hold on..."

"What now?"

"I just got a flag from security cameras, that thing was flying at near mach speed over the Hub, Chief."

The man rose his sight from the PDA and stared at the lumbering piece of steel that had identified itself as Archimedes, raising one eye brow in disbelief. "Security has it flagged? Perfect, then this thing is their problem now." he said while opening a connection to the ship's register of employees, filtering it to Security Personnel, and then picked the first name that came up. "Min-jae Jeong, security guard, perfect." he mumbled to himself and then turned to the machine, "Archimedes, your new administrator is Min-jae Jeong, go help them."

A second of silence was accompanied by a tiny hourglass icon on Archimedes display.

"Invalid Operation. User lacks the required priviledges to assign administrator priviledges." another moment of silence as Kazuhiro's eye twitched in irritation, "Awaiting instructions from SubAdministrator Kazuhiro Okasaki?" Who could possibly have designed an AI so infuriatingly dedicated to annoy its user? Surely this thought must have gone through Kazuhiro's mind as he stared at Archimedes. "Fine. Let's try this then. Archimedes, my instructions are to locate Min-jae Jeong and follow their instructions until further notice." A brilliant use of the machine's logic against itself, worthy of a head engineer.

"Instruction verified. Activating Protocol[3]." was what could be barely heard by the man, as the Archimedes swiftly turned on its place, pivoting over one magnetized leg, and lifted off the ground with the buzzing of the Ion Cannon. "Chief! Incoming..." was what Monica had been screaming in his ear when the first salvo of Devastator fire hit them, making the ship shudder and sending Kaz to the ground. "Fuck! Status report..." the man resumed, looking in dread at Archimedes flight taking off.

The screen flashed with orange and silver icons, a mere relic of the past, in case someone needed a graphical interface to understand Archimedes' "thought process". Icons indicating height, speed, angle of entry and exit; in short, the perfect route straight into the main HUB, and from there to find Min-jae. That part was presenting a problem for Archimedes, as the ship's AI, Noah, fervently refused it access to its user database. But just as Archimedes about to declare the course of action an infinite loop, a ping came into the system. Sure, Noah was refusing access to the military personell, but it couldn't block broadcasts on the transportation system. And that's were Min-jae's user had triggered an emergency override.

The two dots that had finally reapeared on Archimedes' "face" now turned semi-circles, cut across in an attempt to make an "angry face". Pathetic, whoever programmed it must have been short of time or completely neglected aesthetics. Alas, with the processing finished, boosters engaged at full speed, the path being plotted live, straight through the quaking ship, as the second round of salvos arrived.

“Requesting a team near sector 2B, at the viewport. Civilians need to be escorted to the hub or the living quarters.” was what Min-jae was relaying into his radio, before turning back to controlling the distressed civilian. Archimedes had finally tapped into the correct radio frequency, and after making a quick adjustment to it's route it took only a couple minutes to arrive to the specified area. It was a complicated landing, as Archimedes piloted its slowing decent into the sea of people. "Sector 2B. Target Min-jae located." the ominous announcement unnerved more than a few, who opened way to the officer.

"User Min-jae located. Protocol[3] - Caretaker in place. Do you require assistance, User Min-jae?

The man that was holding up against Min-jae's orders to vacate the area was beginning to pose a serious problem now. While he was arguing with Min-jae, the rest of the civilians were standing by, stuck between watching the argument and the fight going on outside. It seemed like the fight was quite heavy, and Min-jae wondered how long it would be before they'd receive the next salvo. If they were unlucky, the shields would not hold, and it'd land right on the spot they were standing in.

The situation escalated so much that Min-jae deemed it necessary to threaten with force. He raised his M90 assault rifle slightly, stretching out his hand towards the man and the rest of the crowd. He raised his voice threateningly, putting himself forwards with an air of authority that made sure most of the people were listening to what he had to say.

“Look, the situation is dangerous here. If you don't move now, I will be forced to restrain you and take you with me by force. My reinforcements will be here shortly, we're all nervous and on edge. I don't know how the security team will react if you don't comply so just go now, befo-”

He was interrupted by the arrival of some sort of robot, who said some random stuff about Min-jae being it's target. Min-jae stood still for a moment, his mind working quickly to assess the situation. As a reflex left over from his days in actual service, unlike what he was now, a sort of glorified policeman, he raised his gun slightly more to make sure that if the robot lunged at him he could at least react. But when the robot spoke up about offering it's assistance, Min-jae seemed under the impression that this was his 'reinforcements' even if it wasn't really like that.

“Um..” he said, while he reached with his free hand towards his shoulder, pressing a button on his radio. “These weren't the reinforcements I had in mind, 2B..” When he released the button, static answered his remark, until a soft, feminine voice crackled through it.

“Sgt. Min-jae, come again? Reinforcements? Sorry, we were affected by a small power outage when the salvo hit, I'm afraid our radio's were down for a moment. Do you need reinforcements? Dispatching now.”

It seemed like where ever this robot had come from, it wasn't security. Min-jae made a mental note to report this oddity later, but for now it seemed best to abuse the hell out of this robot's procedures. Regardless of whether the robot was made to perform security tasks, Min-jae was sure a robot in the area would scare the hell out of these civilians. So he raised his voice again, aimed at the robot. “Yes, 2B must've sent you this way. We need to clear this area, it's too close to the edge of the ship. A potential salvo could destroy this entire room, let alone sector of the hull. Please,” Gently, making no subtle movements to alert the robot too much, he stepped forwards, raising his hand to the civilians again, to which some responded by stepping back. “Let's escort them to a safe location in the internal area of the ship.”

Inside himself, Min-jae felt a feeling of insecurity wash over himself as he was unaware of this robot, it's potential armament, or it's defenses, but it seemed like it was a part of this ships' internal AI, or somehow capable of tapping into it. How else would it have access to Min-jae's name? It seemed like the civilians were impressed, as even the business man that had a big mouth earlier was now backing off. While Min-jae and the robot drove them back, they ultimately turned around and walked out of the area. “M-maybe he's right, this area could be dangerous..” one of them mumbled before disappearing from view.

Now that the area was secured, Min-jae finally turned to the robot, lowering his assault rifle a bit. While he contemplated asking for it's ID, he figured that the robot was harmless as long as it wasn't instructed to do anything. So, he merely turned to his radio and pressed the button. “Cancel those reinforcements. The area is secured with help from..”

Min-jae looked up at the robot, trying to discern it's demarcation or serial number, or anything that could help. While he let go of the radio momentarily, the static returned before a concerned voice rose again. “Sergeant? Sergeant, are you alright?”

Min-jae rather focused his attention to the robot, however. It was curious, how the robot knew his name and somehow had recognised that he needed assistance - or was that just regulatory introduction to a new host? Now that the robot and him were standing still, Min-jae felt a bit more at ease. He set his foot closer to the robot and roughly inspected it, placing his hand on the robot's frame, putting some weight on it and checking the robot's 'back' to see where it's serial number or code was. “Eh.. whatever your call sign is, what code should I report you as?”

When Min-jae was convinced that the robot didn't have it's callsign or code printed anywhere on it's body, he pushed the robot softly as a signal he was done. He briefly looked to the right, where large screens simulated a viewport. He then turned back to face the robot, a slightly more concerned look on his face. “Follow me. We're going to the hub. Stay close.. that's an order. Until I figure out who you are and who you belong to.” And with that said, Min-jae walked off towards the doorway that the civilians had used too, to get away from the exterior area of the hull. It was a bad idea to be that close to the edge of a hull in a situation like this.

While he walked towards the hub, which was a relatively long walk without transport buses, he clicked on his radio again. “Scratch that, I'm escorting..” His eyes briefly shot towards the robot, before he turned back to his radio. “I'm escorting one of the robots. It seems he got lost, and confused me for his caretaker. Can you send out a non-urgent message asking if anyone lost a bot? It's white and orange, if that helps.”

“White and orange. Got it, Sergeant. 2B out. Stay safe.”

Jermija was seen standing at his center console when the first attacks occurred.

“Lt, Enemy Vessels!” an solider stated

“Fuck, right, I need better eyes, someone bring up exterior Camera X16” Jermija ordered, pointing to a technician. With a few simple taps a holographic display emerging from a monitor was seen, the view showed the outside, where the escort was guiding the Vitae.

“Another angle”

The angle switched from a side angle to the backwards angle, to view the chasing Devastator ship. Fuck that’s fucking huge..holy Jermija thought before gulping. He began to speak into a intercom with varying displays of squads ready for action

“Right, I want all Delta squadron to suit up, Delta-Alpha take point at the bridge and be the messengers, make sure everyone at the bridge is safe and secure. Delta-B-.” Jermija began barking out orders before a display popped up, after a hit rocked the ship slightly.

“Shields, 89%” the AI Spoke.

“Rats, for fuck sakes right.. Delta-Bravo, assist engineering and make sure they get to wherever the fucking have to go to, arm up and put on your combat suits go!” Jermija said, shouting into a intercom

“Yes sir!”

“Sir, Delta-Charlie reporting in, commands?”

“Delta Charlie take point at the Cyro-Valut, if the time comes go inside and lock it down, but I want you to be on standby for any orders, I repeat, standby”

The displays for squads changed as Jermija barked orders, some squads were spotted patrolling the hub and ensuring civilian’s are safe and not panicking as much. A few other squads moved to secure locations like the archies, cryo vault, medbays and other major areas. Other squads were assisting medical teams and engineering team. The display kind of lit up with various of squads all of the map doing their thing, kind of like a tactical view/world map of the ship. Jermija tapped onto the hub where more calls of distress were spotted.

“Bravo Delta and Bravo Charlie, move towards the hub and secure the hub. Close down shops and place people in their apartments/rooms. I want all personal to suit up in case of a boarding attack, I repeat, all armored personal suit up, an modified transport vehicle will bring weapons carts and you will be armed, don’t worry about coming to the armory.” Jermija commanded, before changing the display, he typed into the camera for the hanger. The ships by the looks of it were untouched at the moment. Jermija knew or at least had his own reservations about the escort. If the escort didn’t work there last line of defense is either the ship weapons or the fighter pilots. By the looks of it he rather would place his money on the fighter pilots and jets. Some of them honed veterans of their air forces and others, are barely a few months in with only simulation experience. Jermija changed the intercom frequency to the hanger designation.

“Attention all pilots, this is Lt. Turov speaking. Please suit up into your suits and standby for combat, if needed. Ensure all ships are fueled up, weapon systems are working perfectly and ready. I repeat, this is a order to suit up and standby for possible deployment” Jermija stated as he tapped a display, showing the lower levels. Men and women were running to the hanger bays and either suiting up or taking up a position.

“Right, I’m going to suit up-..” Jermija began to say before his display changed and a red alert popped up. The security AI picked up traces of a unknown gas in the air near to the doctor's office, ran by Dr.Illyushin.

“What the fuck is this? Who’s gassing? Is there a alien threat?” Jermija seemed to somewhat shout as he viewed the threat pop up, the display on the center console changed to the reported area where the gas was deployed.

“Pulling up camera Int-65D” one of the tech’s said. The camera showed the scene of the Dr gassing civilians causing panic, the gas was unidentifiable in the angle that Jermija was standing in, nor did the display have a clue of what gas was being used.

“Install the gas and toxic substance update” Jermija ordered before changing the frequency to the normal one.

“Alpha-Bravo, suit up, extract the doctor and bring him into interrogation bay A-2. Unknown gas deployed, I repeat, unknown gas deployed”

“Roger, enroute to office” a deep voice of a soldier stated.

“Right, I’ll suit up and head to the bridge to brief the Admiral and the bridge squad, I want status updates when the Doctor arrives in the interrogation bay, also get a cleaning robot and scrub out the gas, pronto.” Jermija ordered before he suited up. He grabbed a Tsar R21 and a Tritech Rifle, equipped them to his back before moving to the bridge.. To meet with the bridge staff and provide a briefing.

----------------------------------------------

Four soldiers were spotted in a tight formation, wearing combat suits. The suits were often custom painted to the soldiers taste, with their own logo’s and own tastes. Kind of a way of bringing them a sense of home and pride to where they are from

“Randy, take point your gonna barge down the door, Jimmy flashbang, Alberto cover Randy and be the 2nd to go in, got it?” one of the males said, wearing a bright green suit
“Roger” all three of his squad mates said. They took formation to the doorway leading to the lobby/doctor’s office. Randy barged down the door before a flashbang by the hands of Jimmy was thrown. Due to the suits, the males didn’t feel a thing from the flashback, however they saw various bodies, most of them on the floor, knocked out by the looks of it. The male in charge, with the name on his arm “Hayden” observed the bodies for any sign of trauma, or death.

“Sedation, their alive. Knockout gas was used” stated Hayden.

“That’s a relief, let’s find the doc” stated Alberto.

“You three go, I’ll attend with the unconscious” Hayden said. He moved his arm before requesting a combat medic to the scene, using the build in small computer, which echoed the request to the command center. Hayden also relayed the command that the computer was wrong about gas being flooded in, and mask's were used on civilians. Using the arm console. he pressed the camera button before a holographic display emerged. Hayden took a picture of a civilian with a mask on and sent that also to the command center

“Roger” the three males said. They moved towards the doctor office, searching room after room, not finding him in the doctor’s office. However a window was seen, leading downstairs to a bar, and a rope also.

“Doctor fled to a bar, some blood.. Injured” Jimmy stated.

“Let’s rappel down, we’ll take point and find him. Get on the nearest transport.. He mustn't of gone far..” stated Alberto, before the men rappelled down in chase of the Doc.

Nikita's eyes fell back to the security team trailing him. 'Twas an expected outcome. They don't know when they're being helped until they've punished the person helping them. The ship's being attacked, but who knows... this one doctor might be an alien or some foolish thing like that. Nikita grimaced and shook his head, slowly walking towards one of the safe areas, a clandestine twinkle in his eye betraying not a single emotion whatsoever. For he felt no fear, and should they feel any... it would be a shame to think so, anyhow...

The Russian felt through his bag to pull out the mask. Such a simple thing to get chased for. It's like the mask were, as it were, a mask over him, to present an image of this doctor suffering from sociopathic tendencies. What...! This mask was meant to help, to calm... Such is the case with these things... was the guillotine meant to deserve such a macabre connotation? No, of course not. 'Twas the most humane invention of its time, and one of the most unbiased. The blindest blade, for sure.

There they were, looking for him. That Lieutenant there... must be the leader of that particular squad. He was a right good fellow to be doing his job. Must be so proud of himself, chasing down someone with whom he has no quarrel. Ah! Morality! That's it... you dropped them with a lack of morality. Nikita sighed and replaced the mask in his satchel, noticing that a few people were eyeing him warily.

"Shouldn't use it so much," Nikita growled to himself, thinking of the still bodies probably waking from the sedative about now. (That is the other thing about this Tetraoxidine Diphosphate... it works well, but it worked only as long as it needs to... Nikita laughed.) He walked towards a woman sitting ramrod stiff on a bench, staring at the heavens as she quavered, waiting to be blown into oblivion. Sitting down next to her--and startling her in the process--Nikita offered her the mask. Much to his surprise, she took it and gratefully inhaled the sleeping gas. She fell into his lap, her head making a gentle thump against his leg as she landed. Picking her small form into his arms, Nikita carried her to the safe area, placing her on a cot. Sitting down a chair next to the bed, he stared into this woman's face. 'Twas not a beautiful face--flawed as it were--but in it he saw a truer beauty, that one last golden glimmer: hope.

He let the people gather in a circle around him, some petitioning to have some of the gas. He made sure he lowered the dosage to merely calm their nerves rather than render them unconscious, and soon the entire area was silent, listening to the distant shouts of the security teams outside. The place was calm and at the same time hopeful. They had feeling, and at the same time felt no pain nor fear. Nikita himself took a small inhalation and immediately was bathed in a warmth that caused his heart to rise in his chest. A smile came to his lips; 'twas a synthetic happiness, but a happiness present was a happiness existed.

Nikita stood slowly, making his way through the crowd to the entrance, watching the security team slowly make its way up towards him. Looking back at the crowd, all of whom were cognizant of their situation and yet still at peace, Nikita sighed again before walking towards the team, eyes boring into the Lieutenant. Raising his hands behind the back of his head, he moved forward, the pain in his ankle returning as he started to stumble.

"Sir... I believe you want me... no?" He spoke, a gravel sound pitching from his parted lips.

Below is a collaboration between @obisemkenobi and myself.

When the alarms went off, Nick was in the middle of taking a rather lengthy leak. Just his luck. Couldn’t they have waited a minute or two? That’s when the call came in. The safe zones? That meant it was serious. He was just about to cut off when the ship shook from the hit it took. Pee everywhere. Just great.

As he stepped back into the hallway, he decided it would be best to go back towards the hub. The Chief of Security would have things settled on his end, so there was no point in going there now. He walked, instead of running, to try and give the impression that things weren’t as bad as they were. Most people were pretty confident this boat was unsinkable so he might as well keep them in that illusion. He calmly called attention to himself and tried to get people to safety.

“Alright folks, no need to be alarmed. This thing can take a hit or two. Just go to the closest safe room, that’s Eden in your case, and remain calm. Should you have a thing against plants there’s always the Cryogenics Chamber one small transport trip away. Report in with the section head and stay calm. There is absolutely no need to worry.”

People seemed compliant enough and the masses of people slowly started to get their asses into gear. A few people were more stubborn than others, but that’s what the slightly less subtle marines were for.

Out of curiosity he took another peek inside the bar to see if the bartender and that woman he saw in the corner were still there.

Melanie was downing what was left in her glass in an attempt to get drunk faster. Not that the food she had had earlier helped, but at least she was making the effort now. When the ship shook in response to the sudden hit it had taken, Melanie couldn't help but choke on the last sip of her drink. She had a bit of a coughing fit, and Craig looked at her with a hint of concern on his face. After she recovered, Melanie was just as confused as him.

"What the hell is going on?" She got off the barstool to go outside and investigate, but she paused for a moment as her head began to spin the moment she got up. With an annoyed sigh, she went outside and noticed a lot more people walking around than before. She looked one way, then the other. Some of them look terrified, and others calm. After a few mintues of standing outside and deciding she would get nowhere with them, she proceeded to head back to the bar. If something was going on, she'd want to hear it from an employee currently on shift...like Craig. They should be notified, or at the very least given some instructions on how to handle the situation. Melanie started to head back towards the bar, ther attention suddenly stolen by some loud mouths who were creating unnecessary panic. Without her noticing, she walked into someone standing right by the entrance.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there..." was he the man that had been in the bar not too long ago? Melanie couldn't recall due to her obvious drunken state. "Um, I'm sorry to bother you, but can you tell me what exactly is going on?"

Well, the ship is under attack and given what we know about the Devastators we'll probably be disintegrated in a little under ten minutes. This mission will be over before it began and humanity will be doomed to extinction.

"Just a slight complication ma'am, nothing the ship's shields can't hold. We're moving all non-essential personnel to the safe zones just to be sure though. You seem... disorientated. Would you like me to walk you to Eden?"

Wow, that sounded like the worst pickup line ever.

"Yeah, sure. Thank you, by the way. I'm not sure if I'm getting in the way of your job," she added.

Melanie looked up at the tall man to introduce herself. "I work here as a therapist, so if you ever need someone to talk to... I'm the woman for the job." she gave him a slight smile to show him she appreciated his help.

"I might just take you up on that, I'm kinda cut off from my usual support group right now. And escorting people to the safezones is appearently my job at the moment, so I might as well make the most of it." Quickly peeking back into the bar, he spotted a rather confused bartender still proffesionally waiting behind his counter.

"Craig, lock up the expensive stuff, bring some of the cheaper stuff and meet us at Eden. I imagine there's a few people who could use a stiff drink there."

After recieving a confirming nod he turned back to the ever so slightly intoxicated therapist. "Just come along this way."

She followed the man to whatever location he was taking her, although she silently hoped that it wasn't too far from her room. Who knew what was going on outside of the ship, but if they were about to die, she wanted to be holding the picture of her parents when her time came.

Melanie suddenly pushed that thought out of her head, deciding that it was too early to be thinking with such negativity. She turned to the man escorting her and continued the conversation. "So, I'm guessing you work security on here?"

"Yeah, something like that. I'm sorry, I seem to have left my manners in the men's room, I'm Nick Simons, Chief of the Investigatory Branch of Security. If you feel something's not right and you need it looked into, no matter how big or how small, I'm the man for the job."

He extended his hand with a similar smile as she had given him before.

"Well, very nice to meet you, Nick." Melanie shook his hand and took a mental note of his position, a very important one at that. If she ever got herself into some trouble, maybe throwing his name around would help her get out of it. As they continued walking towards Eden, one of Melanie's past clients suddenly stumbled upon her and Nick.

"You bitch, she left me!" he yelled at Melanie with an accusatory tone and a finger in her face. "My wife is gone and it's all your fault! Your 'therapy' didn't do shit for us, not when she was screwing around with another man!"

Melanie stayed quiet as she wasn't sure how to approach the man. His name was Mike or something like that, who knows, but judging from his attitude and bad breath, it appeared he was at the very least as drunk as her, if not more.

Nick stepped forward just enough to get the man's attention, but without really standing in between the two. He looked at him, then back at Melanie.

"Is this guy for real?" Not waiting for an answer he looked back at the man with a face that was both nonchelant and meant business.

"Look pal, I don't know you, I don't know what happened to you, heck I barely even know her. I'm sorry about your wife, but this seems like the kind of complaint you file in paperwork, or make an appointment for. In case you haven't noticed, your arguments do not carry a lot of weight over the sound of the evacuation alarm, so man up, sober up, and get your ass to a safe zone!"

Melanie only stared as Mike walked away with an attitude. Not her fault he wasn't enough of a man to keep his wife satisfied. "Thank for that," she added after a few moments, "who knows how else he would have expressed his anger if you weren't here. This is a daily occurrence, you know? Clients coming to me dissatisfied in one way or the other. I mean, things don't always work out, and the best I can do is just give them some advice and guide them down the right path."

"Anytime. Trust me, I've been on both sides of this kind of situation, I know how you feel."

Five minutes later they arrived at on of the many entrances to Eden. Nick still believed the name to be more than a little pretentious, but when those doors opened his mouth dropped open. This was one of the few parts of the ship where he hadn't been before, mostly because he figured it was so heavily regulated and under watch that he would rarely have to chase a suspect in here. Sure made him look like a fool now though. Another one for the list.

The circular room was like one big forest, now filled with a mixture of calm and not so calm people, like ants, moving back and forth through the trees, looking for something to do or somebody who could tell them more.
"Well, here we are then. I have to report back to my office, I left my deputy in charge before take-off and I fear she may be hysterically running in circles by now. It was nice to meet you and if we survive the upcoming ten minutes I would like to take you up on that offer, if it still stands."

Melanie turned to Nick, her expression filled with nothing short of amazement as her eyes had just taken in the sight of Eden as well. "You're welcomed to stop by anytime. And again, thank you so much for your help."

Nick was about to walk away when he realised something. He made a quick one-eighty and turned back to face her, one index-finger pointing up for no particular reason as he did.

"Ehm, this is rather embarrasing, but when I ask for you at your office... who do I ask for? I seem to have forgotten your name."

She laughed, a little bit more than she should thanks to the alcohol, but she brought up her hand to her mouth and pressed her index finger against her lips to contain herself. "It's Melanie," she replied after regaining her composure, "make sure to write it down if you need to."

With that, she waved him goodbye before walking towards the centre of the crowd to do a little bit of exploring on her own.

Kevin had been walking for awhile with nothing as he decided to put back his desktop in his room. He spent about a month on board the Ark, but he still didn't explore all of it. With that in mind, he didn't know where to go and care enough to give a damn. And he was able to think alone without anyone beside a couple people that walked passed by him. There wasn't much to think about besides leaving behind Earth and his family. He knew that his family had accepted their faith as he left for Africa. But, it didn't felt right that he had to leave behind them. It seemed selfish.

He kept on walking until he got to one of the many bus stops, located near the Hub. A couple of people got off one of the buses as Kevin got on. Everyone was going to different places of the ark to watch Earth before take off. However, he didn't know where to go other than the bus. The bus' door shut close as it started to drive. There was about ten or eleven people aboard the small bus as they were talking or avoid each other. It was peaceful until the alarms went off.

The bus kept moving as the alarms kept going causing the passengers to be afraid. Kevin was worried about the simulation as he didn't know what was going on along with the passengers. Then out of nowhere, the bus rocked side to side for a moment as if the ark was hit by something. Some of the passengers fell down because of the sudden movement. No one was hurt besides a couple being scared out of their minds. Everyone aboard was scared until two security guards took over the bus and started to drive. One of them was driving while the other started to inform the passengers. “We are currently under attack and we were ordered to send this bus to the Archive. Please remain calm.” After the guard finished, the bus suddenly stopped at once of the bus stops. The guard rushed towards the driver's seat to check up on his partner.

Kevin managed to hear a couple words about walking towards the 'safe room'. After a moment, the guards came out and told everyone that they have to walk the rest of the way. They sighed and started to gather their things for the walk as Kevin already got up from his seat. He knew the way to the Archive since he works there. The guards quickly told Kevin to remind with the others, but he told them that he worked there and went ahead. He soon entered the Archive and saw tons of people at his job place as well. Kevin walked towards his work station, where he would spend his time looking at stuff and checking them out. His job was to check on important information, films, and stuff for any issues and to see how many people currently have this piece of information, film, and other things stored in the Archive. Kevin got his keycard out of his pocket and put it in the lock until he heard a buzz.

Then, he opened the door and entered the private room.
