War... War never changes...

But people do... based on the roads one travels...

But there are some roads in life...ONE MUST NEVER TRAVEL!!!

-----

Come travelers, Take a seat around the fire. Let its fire scare away the darkness of this moonless night. Listen to a tall tale of an old wander. I come from a place far from here. Far to the South and far to the east. From a place surrounded by Ocean on three sides tucked underneath the main of the continent. Back in the old days, Before the war, When the good old US of A still stood proudly, the Place was known collectively as the State of Florida. I cannot say I ever know why it was called that. You see I am a survivor of those nightmare lands. Among the first to leave vault 122, first to stumble on vault 38. That number still haunts my dreams. Thirty Eight. Inside the ruins of Vault 38, we found a miracle of science. The fabled G.E.C.K. OH!? Never heard of a G.E.C.K.? It stands for the Garden of Eden Creation Kit. It was a world changing device. Able to create rainforests out of deserts. Restore the world as it was before the war, before the bomb. It was the pinnacle of Human technological prowess. Well, at least of anything before the Great War. Possible, after too. Doubt the Enclave could build one if they wanted to. Anyways, Before I get sidetracked, The G.E.C.K. is not what it is advertised to be. Vault City got lucky. Project Purity got Lucky. But you must believe me, Humans were exiled from Eden. We were never supposed to go there again. When we activated the device, it was not Eden, but Pandora's Box. Florida returned to lush green but it was wrong. Monsters, demons, and all kinds of horrors sprung forth. Never go to Florida. This wasteland seems peaceful in comparison... but, if you do, destroy the G.E.C.K!

----------------------

Ok, I kinda got carried away with the theatrics. A Garden of Eden Creation Kit has been activated in Florida. An Irradiated G.E.C.K. actually. Any Fallout fans should imagine what terrible things an irradiated piece of terraforming equipment would be like. Nothing good came from radiation. Well, maybe ghouls, if you are into that. We will be going to destroy the G.E.C.K. and stop the spread of this post apocalyptic terror that is the Everglades. You can be from any faction (or not) the east or West Coast. If you are from the West Coast, you need to be able to justify you crossing the entire US to get to Florida.

Any Questions? Anyone interested?

----------

Anyways, as far as the kind of monsters given life here are but a few. Alligators grow as large as Cars. Snakes grow aware from 15 to thirty feet long. This jungle land has a unique breed of Giant ants. Primarily black in color, its workers grow to be the size of a dog. Warriors can get to stand six feet while on all 6 legs. Workers will spray a flammable tar-like substance as a defense mechanism before fleeing. Warriors are able to breath fire which can ignite the tar. Dragonflies are common in the jungles, though they now are as large as eagles. Beetles now grow up to the size of small house cats.

Now, not all threats are unique to the Post war everglades. Deathclaws take on a sickly shade of green as they stalk prey through the trees. Radroaches of course exist. Yuoi Gui have made their nests within the safety of the greenery. Large cats and dogs also roam here. A variety of Green Geckos exist here as well. They hunt in packs and can if in large enough numbers be bold enough to challenge a deathclaw. Supermutants have found a natural home here. Their large size makes survival easier. They have socially devolved into stick wielding savages mostly. They hunt and gather to support a tribal lifestyle. They are less threatening to humans than other areas because humans have too little meat compared to other jungle critters.

Now, if radiation and animal life was not enough, you should take a look at the plants. Many of the fruit bearing plants do not like their delicious fruits being stolen. When a fruit is plucked, the plant will release a poisonous mist to kill the would be plunderer. Some plants do eat meat. There are several Venus fly trap like plants that lure animals inside. Other plants stay still until movement awakes them and they grab with veins to slowly devour their prey. Not all plants are stationary. Some get up and hunt like animals. These walking trees are called Ents.

Another plant type to be avoided is a parasite that infects those who do not have proper access to medicine. It spores buries itself under the skin and begins to grow. First symptoms is skin irritation followed by Flowers coming out of the skin. The plant then slowly takes over the host and eventually turnes the host into something akin to the spore carriers out of Vault 22 in Nevada. When the host corpse eventually dies, the plant takes roots wherever it falls.

Race: (Primarily human, but i will allow Ghoul, Supermutant, or Synth to be playable)

War. War never changes.

The Florida Everglades were an ok place to live. The inhabitants didn't have much more to worry about than the usual wastelander. Being so near the ocean, they had more resources than most. They were able to carve out a little slice of life amongst the bones of the dead. That is, until the Old World came back.

A damaged Garden of Eden Creation Kit was found, and used by those that did not understand its Old World power. With it came the monsters of the past, and the Everglades once again became moist, and full of life, but forever changed. Now the locals have found themselves in a terrible war for suvival against the horrors of Old World nature. And war... War never changes.

I'm one of the biggest Fallout fanatics you'll ever meet. Currently running a Savage Worlds tabletop module of Fallout. Tons of fun. I'd be so up for this.

Very careful interest. I'm on the very tail-end of my school year so I'll be havin' a lot of free time soon. I'm a fan of the fallout series and always wanted to try my hand at an RP based off of it, and this concept seems... Very interesting. If you could creatively design and describe some of the abominations the irradiated G.E.C.K. would bring, that'd be even more interesting.

So, yes. If this goes through I'd be very interested to try my hand at it.

@ProPro@Ammokkx@EurmalEye@POOHEAD189Thank you all for your interest. This idea has been running around the outer realms of my mind for a while. I am going to try to have the offical OOC up sometime tomorrow. I was honestly not expecting such a decent turnout this soon.

Looks awesome. So as far as the mutants go, are they the same strain FEV as the rest of the East coast mutants, migrants from Mariposa, or another strain of FEV unique to the region? Each strain leads to slightly different mutants, what with Mariposa mutants having a higher percentage of mutants retaining intelligence, while East coast mutants get better bigger as they age, etc.

@ProPro Honestly, I had not decided that yet. I wanted Supermutants to have migrated into the Florida rather than an indigenous strain. I think I like the idea of Both. A mixing of Remnants of the Master's supermutants and Nightkin with East Coast big brutes.

@Marshall You must pardon me, but i am not exactly sure what a Paladin Lord is. I am aware that one of the branches of the BoS is Paladin. Please, enlighten me. If it is reasonable I am sure I would accept it. I have no aversion to power armor, but it may be a hindrance in the jungle.

@MarsAdept A Paladin Lord is essentially a Star Paladin with more reach. They are given a task thats vague such as "Explore Florida" and then sent on their way. Basically the only member of BoS that would be out in Florida alone without a dead squad on their mind.

How canon is Fallout Tactics for this? What with the Midwestern BoS recruiting tribals, ghouls, super mutants, training deathclaws, so on and so forth. Oh, speaking of deathclaws, what about the near-extinct greyback clan, that are sentient? If possible I'd love to play one that keeps his claws trimmed and tries to interact with societies (under cloak most likely, like a certain other deathclaw companion, mwahahaha).

@ProPro As far as Bethesda Studio goes Fallout tactics is considered Non-cannon. Same with Fallout Brotherhood of Steel. I am willing to accept their existence because there is some mention of a disowned Faction of the BoS in the midwest in Fallout 3 and NV. As far as those Hairy Deathclaws in the midwest, I do not like them being sentient. I liked the idea that the only intelligent deathclaw are those being controlled by people or were eradicated by the Enclave during the events of Fallout 2. Basically, I would prefer you didn't play a hiding deathclaw. Though a intellectual fighting his bestial urges in a savage land would be interesting.

Actually, Tactics is canon, just in broad strokes. Specific details didn't happen the way portrayed, but the general events are confirmed canon. But yeah, an intellectual fighting his primal urges was exactly what I was thinking, but it's completely understandable that you wouldn't want an intelligent deathclaw as a PC.

Edit: But Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is 100% non-canon, and thank god for that. >:[

Uh. This is a tad on the low side. Say I want an even spread, that'd be 4/4/4/4/4/4/4. That's below average on all 7. The games usually give you 40 points, with 7 of those being the minimum of 1 in every stat. I don't think it'd need to go that far, but having at least 35 or maybe a little higher would be nice so we could have an even spread. You'd have to gimp yourself just to be average at something.

@Ammokkx I thank you for pointing out the error in my math. I was assuming everyone was had 1 in every stat then had points to add to that. But i did not explicitly said that so it did not exist. I will correct it when i set up the OOC.

Anyways, I am going to get started on the OOC.
