Holding Nolan's hand she followed his lead. As they walked Ariel kept an eye out for anyone they knew. The place was big and busy so while she shouldn't expect to see anyone she kind of hoped they did. In some strange way she wanted to see someone's reaction to them being together. Though just as much she wanted to tell someone because the story was almost hard for ever her to believe. To some extent it would assure her that she wasn't dreaming or something.

Skipping ahead slightly she walked backward so she could look at Nolan while they went. "So after we eat and get a haircut what else do you want to do? Did you have plans before our grand adventure?" With her magic pressing her on she had pretty much forgotten that she was still somewhat tired. But this was still the free day of the Games and they had the opportunity to do things together now that were actually fun.

"A particular slayer? No not really Mr DuCarthy. Whoever is the first to come across our path will suffice." Manami responded over her shoulder as she and Shiro led the way out of the, by now rather wrecked, motel room. Once outside, Shiro and Manami would stop just a few meters past the door for a brief moment before the two of them disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Shortly after Shiro reappeared in front of Nidhogg, however Manami was gone.
"Nidhogg-sama, Manami-sama has final preparations to finish. We will search for a slayer, and engage if necessary." Shiro explained coolly as she allowed her scythe, which had been clipped to her back for some time now, to fold into itself and allow itself to be clipped to her belt.
Without saying anything else she would then proceed to turn on her heels and begin to walk off towards some random street. If Nidhogg asked where she was heading, she would simply responded with a 'I don't know' and continue walking. Wandering aimlessly was her plan at this stage, unless Nidhogg would suggest a better plan.

Cody simply nodded at James' response. James WAS the armor expert here, so Cody wasn't going to argue. If he didn't think it would be good enough, than it probably won't.
He trailed a few steps behind of James as they now began to inspect the chain-mail armor, Cody grabbing one and allowing the chainmail to slip through his fingers as he seemed to be thinking about something.
Turning back to James now, he opened his mouth to talk.
"Any particular metal we should look for?"

Ash was pretty annoyed to be honest. She had found someone interesting to talk to, however they were ordered to go separate ways. Ash might've argued but held her tongue and simply followed Sanders orders.
If she wanted to become a full fledged member she would have to get used to following his orders after all. So instead she simply hung out the back of the group and followed Thor and Harper, staying uncharacteristically quiet, not that these two would know that since they had just met, and simply bottled up her annoyance. The annoyed look she had on her face would probably give her away however.
However she at least got to be in the same group as Thor, and wanting to meet and hopefully spar against the lightning wizard was a reason why she had joined the guild.
After all the only way to get stronger was to fight strong foes right? But Ash wasn't sure what it was about Thor but...she didn't seem like she was in a good mood so Ash decided to strike up a conversation at a different time.

The group eventually reached a ridge which Ash walked across without much care in the world, she was too annoyed to care and to be honest she was a thrill seeker anyway so it didn't bother her.
As they shifted through the debris around, Ash not really finding anything worth mentioning, she heard Harper make a comment about a tree trunk. It was rather shady looking wasn't it?
Ash watched with a raised eyebrow as Harper seemed to pretty much bury the stump in explosives before getting a safe distance away, just because she controlled fire didn't mean she wouldn't be hurt by that explosion after all! What with the debris and all...
One loud boom later Ash would allow the dust to clear before also coming along to inspect the stump which seemed to still be intact? Definitely suspicious. Harpers kicking of the stump proved their suspicions as well, as it flew off and smacked into a nearby tree Ash would also peer down into the hole it had previously covered.
Glancing at Thor and Harper she quickly broke out into a grin. Yes, this was more like it!
"Last one down is a rotten egg." Was the only response she gave to Harper's question before jumping down into the hole, not even bothering to use the ladder. If the fall was too deep she would simply use fire to break her fall by slowing down her momentum after all.

NOLAN

Nolan found himself eyeing Ariel up and down when she skipped ahead of him. It surprised him that he was able to see Ariel as a desirable woman instead of a hellspawn that would scare the life out him, but what surprised him was that they were an item. Never did the thought of ever getting a girlfriend cross his mind simply because he was too afraid of women though look at him now. His face blushed a light tint of red as she looked at him. It looks like he was caught red handed checking her out, however, she probably didn't mind that he was.

"I never had any real plans to be honest. I was just going to wander around the city and see what it had to offer, just take my mind of things. Guild responsibilities and all that crap." Nolan smiled and walked closer to her to close the gap in between them. It must have been this form that made her so energetic because she was exhausted before. "I'm not sure what we should do after all of that. All I know is that we won't have this much free time as we do now and I just want to spend it with you. By the gods what have you done to me Ariel? You've got me saying all of this cheesy crap." He laughed lightly, not a sound that one would hear from him very often. That strong, hard exterior he had always held as a front seemed to had cracked and showed a more expressive, happier person. He almost seemed to be radiating.

"Um, so what do you want do you want to do? Crocus has a lot going on. We can go to the parks, the water park, pubs, monuments. You name it, we can find it." Nolan grabbed her hand, his fingers intertwined with her's.

Everything went well enough until Argus felt the pressure around his neck, his eyes opening wide as his breath caught in his throat, instinctively leaping away from the witch as one hand went to his throat, the other whipping out as if he was trying to summon a wall of magic between him and her. One formed, but it was nearly as big or wild as ones he had formed in the past, showing that the seal was working at last. Argus, however, seemed particularly panicked as he held his throat, taking deep breaths as he tried to center himself in the present moment. Flashes of his first times being sent to the pits rolling into his mind like a wave. While the collar then had been thicker and more chaffing then the presence he'd felt around his neck now, it still felt extremely unpleasant to the point where his skin was positively crawling. On the back of his neck, the silver rose would suddenly be besieged by a halo of crimson flames, trying to burn away the unwelcome presence in response to his distress.

However, after a minute or two, everything calmed down, both the wall of flaming magic and the fire on his neck dying down as he knelt down, trying to stop the shaking that he felt racking his body, struggling not to tear at his own throat until he drew blood. For now, he settled for the spot on his neck where the brand from his time in that hellhole remained, magically scarred into his skin and one of the multiple reminders he had of his time there. As he stood up, one would notice him absent-mindedly rubbing at his bandaged covered wrists, before he noticed the motion and forced his hands into his pockets, taking a breath as he walked a bit closer to them, looking a mix between remorseful of his sudden action, and very, very annoyed at the two in front of them. The latter was becoming increasingly prevalent as he walked closer, however, cleary the stronger of the two emotions.

"A little warning would've. . . *sigh* forget it, you couldn't have known I'd react that way. It just. . . brought back some bad memories is all." Argus put his head into his hands for a moment, taking another breath as he slowly ran them through his air. His eyes would turn skyward momentarily,as if he was considering something, before he leveled his gaze at both of the two before him, his voice taking on a rather deadly serious tone. "But just to be clear, after we're done hear, I'm going to put all of my effort it getting this think off myself. I don't care what you say, what the crimson knight says, even what Sanders says. I'm NEVER wearing a collar or chains again, in any way, shape or form, Got it?

He'd hold their gaze as they respond to his statement, his face remaining neutral no matter what they said, as he felt he'd showed these two a bit more of his vulnerability than he liked. Whenever they finished, he'd simply wait for them to take him where ever he needed to be brought, not really in a talkative mood. As he waited, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't help but feel his neck, the pressure there seeming to only increase as he stood there. Every cell in his body was screaming at him to burn this damned seal of, and then to scrape at his neck with steel wool in an effort to get rid of the feeling that currently was driving him ever closer to agitation. In all of the excitement, he'd completely forgotten about Leo's presence, his attention focused almost entirely inward at the moment as he struggled to reel in his impulses.

"I dunno, I was going to ask you to the guild dinner tonight, but judging by your facial expression when I said we were called a dark guild I'd guess you'd rather not do that, so maybe just a quick mid-afternoon meal at the first restaurant we come across that looks like it has good food? So long as it isn't one of those super expensive ones, that is," Drake would smile at Levi. "Unless you'd rather not go eat some food with a member of a 'dark guild.' But don't just say yes if your afraid of me or whatever, I'm low woman on the totem pole so I couldn't arrange anything unless I really needed to."

After listening to what Nolan had to say she skipped back a few feet and changed to her Sky magic. Come to think of it this was one of the magics that she got due to her encounter with Tidius. Up until now she'd never really used it. Her clothes turned a sky blue and looked to have puffy white clouds floating on it.

With this new look meant another side of Ariel that Nolan had yet to really see. Rudding her hands together Ariel snickered slightly with a grin. "All part of the plan. First I had to get past your fear so I could get close. Then after I was your girlfriend I could have you all to myself." She tried to make a slightly serious face but couldn't hold it and burst out laughing.

After a good laugh at her own goofiness she tried to think of what they could do. Crocus was not a place she knew really at all but it sounded like they had everything. "Ooh, a water park sounds fun! We should go to that. And then after that maybe we could... OH goodness!" While she was walking backward she'd run into a prop wearing a set of armor. Whirling around she scrambled to hold the thing up and together, clattering and clanging the whole time. After she got it stable again she straightened it out as best she could and popped her head in through the doorway. "Sorry sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going but it's all good."

Having heard the racket she noticed James and Cody staring back at her. "Hey there. I haven't seen you guys in a while." That probably didn't make a whole lot of sense considering it was just a day or so ago. To Ariel it had been a long time. "Whatcha doing here?"

Caught red handed! Levi blushed and rubbed the back of his head, his gave averted her's like a guilty dog that got caught for urinating on the rug. "N-no I would like to join your guild for dinner. It's just...you're a lot different than I had expected. I've heard stories of dark guilds, really gruesome ones at that. I've always thought that dark mages were just monsters and...well, your guild enables the really dangerous ones. I'm not really sure what to think of you to be honest. You seem to be a really nice person and I'm sure you all have your own reasons for being in that guild, but..."

He sighed heavily and cupped his face in his hands, taking a deep breath. He was just frustrated because he couldn't find the right words to say what he wanted. He soon looked back at Alm and said, "You know what, how about we just forget that all happened and start over?" Levi put a giant hand out and brought out a larger than life grin. "The name is Levi Ernest and I'd be happy to attend your guilds dinner tonight."

NOLAN

Huh, well this was different. This was probably one of the many kinds of magic that she had absorbed and with that, a different personality. So what kind of personality did this form have? A bubbly, playful one that's what. Nolan couldn't help, but laugh at her silly antics. "It seems like your plan worked wonders. I'm all yours." He grinned at her, happily walking with her down the streets of Crocus.

His face flushed red when he realized that they would go to the water park later. It wasn't the thought that she would see his body; at this point, the majority of women in Fiore who were watching the Grand Magic Games on the third day would have seen him without his shirt. It was the thought of seeing Ariel in a swimsuit that made him nervous; it was a big step for him and his earlier experiences with women weren't what people would call positive.

Nolan snapped out of it and saw that Ariel was about to bump into a suit of armor set on display outside of a weapons and armor shop. "Ariel behind y-!" Too late, Ariel had bumped into the suit of armor and it was about to fall down, but Nolan rushed to her side and helped her prop it back up in place. He sighed in relief and looked over to Ariel to ask if she was alright though she was already talking to James and some other fellow. Oh great, they had to bump into the walking suit of armor that had a stick jammed right up his ass. He wasn't a bad guy though he took things way too seriously. "Yo paladin, aren't you already good on the armor department or is this just a fetish of yours?"

Damian listened to Eliza speak as he continued searching for his own clues, but turning up nothing of note, though he did note that for having burnt the entire building, only the front was noticeably destroyed. "Well, if I had to hazard a guess about what kind of person can tank a firebolt and keep coming, I'd say, like you said a cursed person. Or magically enhanced. Other than that arm bone, it bothers me only the front half of the building was destroyed by the fire with minimal damage to the back." He took a moment to review the damage again. "Call it a hunch, but someone let it burn to be convincing, but not long enough to be convincing enough." He sighed, looking over the hut again. "Want to keep looking around or head to the grave sight? That's where your guild master wanted us to look next."




Hunter's eyes widened when she unleashed the breath attack and he only had enough time to throw up the front of his Jade Egg, though he still took the brunt of the blow and had several chunks blown out of his armor before the egg shell formed. As the attack ended, he found himself up above her in the air and grinned. "Incoming! Jade Dragon's Crush Claw!" His hand became enveloped by green stone and he dropped down towards Amaya.

He knew she'd dodge so he followed it up by giving chase and attacking with a flurry of Steel Fists. As good as the match with Zero had been, sparring with Amaya had a different element of fun about it. After throwing the last punch, he back flipped away, beginning to breath heavily. "This was fun. Pity you aren't in the games, the world hasn't seen a pair of Dragon Slayers really go at it since the Battle of the Four Dragons."




A few minutes after Jackie left, Jack stood and went down to check on Aria, noting her look of careful observation. "You can't stay like that forever, Miss Aria. With the destruction of those headphones, you can finally be free of your past."




James had been in the middle of looking at some enchanted mail when Cody spoke up. "Well, the best mail we could get you is both expensive and rare, so we'll have to settle for something enchanted. Steel is the ideal metal, and that's what I'm looking at now so if you'll ju-" At that moment, he heard three things. The first was the sound of armor being knocked over, which had him reaching a hand for the hilt of his sword as he looked up, Ariel's voice, which had him relaxing, and then Nolan's bad attempt at a joke, which had him shaking his head.

"Nolan, Ariel, glad to see you two are no longer hiding from the public eye, or specifically Marlene's. As for the armor, we're here to find Cody a good set. He's learning sword play to balance out his all defensive magic with an attack option, but if he's swinging his sword around, from what I can tell from yesterday, he can't cast his magic, so I figured something to protect him when he can't use his magic is good." It was then that Nolan's attitude towards Ariel really clicked with the paladin. "Wait a moment, are you two dating?"

Drake watched as Levi leaped from statement to statement, trying to say everything on his mind at once. It was a commendable effort, but it brought Drake to a smile when he just gave up and tried to simplify what he wanted to say to a single statement. "Alm Drake. Well, Levi Ernest," she would take his hand as she said this. "You don't have to go if you don't want to, I know plenty people who'd want anything better than spending a meal with the Vale Family. Luna and the more lawful good individuals might make it more tolerable though, so, if you're going to come, wear something nice, but not fancy, it'll be around seven. Besides that, I think I saw a good place when I was wondering the city earlier for us to grab a somewhat quick bite now," Drake would continue her charming smile as she pointed in the general direction of where she meant. "Also, how old are you?"

Without warning, Jessie rose and bounded off, moving through the crowd towards a counter, a complete bundle of energy.

"The thing is, the council isn't about bureaucracy. Carrie seeks what's best for the magical population." Drew said, "but you are right. It isn't pleasant conversation" drew leaned forward slightly, "what do you plan on doing after the games?"

Jessie returned at this, with a plate full of fruit, sitting back down with a smile and plucking a piece of apple off the plate.

Leo acted instinctively, shifting slightly, a rune formed beneath his feet, as Argus seemed likely to explode. supressing something powerful wasn't generally a good idea, and having such a seal probably didn't make things better. Argus evidently didn't like the imprisonment, and for a brief moment Leo thought it might break, and cause severe damage to all of them. But it didn't. Still, it was some time before Leo stood straight, the rune disappearing.

"You have a right to be free, but it won't come if you let what is within you control you. You need to learn to control it and not be controlled. It won't happen in a day, nor a week. It will only happen when when you learn to control your self. Now, I believe we have a job to do. This town appears quite strange, and I should make sure Gabriel hasn't fallen in a hole or something"

Leo laughed, before leaving, and was soon out of sight.

Cody whirled around when he heard a loud *crash* and *bang* noise behind of him, only to find a familiar face sticking her head in the doorway...however Cody couldn't quite place it. She looked very similar to someone Cody had met a couple days back....yes she looked just like that girl that Cody had flung himself in front of to protect her from a fellow member of Phoenix Wing who had gone insane for seemingly no reason, then again he hadn't heard the full story himself.
However she was....different. Her hair was a different color, so was her outfit. Perhaps it was magic related? Or maybe she liked to dye her hair and change her clothes? Either way it didn't really concern Cody as he was positive by the name now that it was the same girl, and the fact she recognized both him and James.
He also recognized the young man accompanying her, he was also there during that chaotic moment which led to Cody joining Phoenix Wing. He had also read about him in a grand magic games pamphlet he had picked up....Nolan Waltz was his name?

Cody stood there silently as he listened to their exchanges before responding to Ariel. He hadn't quite clicked on what James said, or he might've been a little more careful with how he sounded with his response.
"As James said....just buying some armor." Cody said back in a indifferent tone, possibly sounding a bit ruder than he meant but he was still a little startled by the noise earlier, before adding in a slightly friendlier tone "However it is good to see you're ok after that mess a couple of days ago...Ariel was it?"

"Oh, that makes sense. Not sure if armor would help me or not. My magic is kind of all over the place though." She waved her hands around a bit to relay how crazy it was. Cody asked her name, or more accurately for confirmation of her name. Nodding she smiled. "That's me, Ariel Gratas. Thanks for the help when I was getting attacked. I still don't know what got into Marlene to make her so... crazy." There were probably better ways to put that but it was what came to her mind first.

James made an interesting observation though and she glanced back at Nolan. Was it that obvious? Sure Nolan wasn't dying standing next to her but they hadn't really done anything that would indicate more. Or maybe Ariel was just missing it, she was not always the most observant. She turned back to her guild mates. "Um, yeah we are actually... How'd you guess?" She actually was a tad puzzled.

NOLAN

Wow, James caught on real fast though it was surprising that he could tell that Nolan and Ariel were dating. It wasn't like the two of them were acting lovy dovey at the moment, hell they weren't even holding hands so how did he figure it out? "Is it really so obvious?" Nolan glanced at Ariel and smiled at her before looking back at James. It felt weird to have someone know that they were an item, but "It's a long story, but yeah, we're a couple." His face was tinted a slight pink and he looked away embarrassedly, pretending that he was looking at a suit of armor.

He glanced over to Cody, the one in need of armor. Without saying a word Nolan walked over to him and began to feel his body up; his hands moved over his upperbody before backing off. "I'd be surprised if you were able even move around even in leather at all. Start with light weight lifting and work on your core." He smacked Cody's stomach with the back of his hand. "And go on runs. If you can't even run a mile then you won't make it far with the extra weight."

"No no, it would be fun to go." Levi chuckled nervously. Sure he was a little uneasy about having dinner with dark mages, but if she was sure that it would be fine then he won't try to think about it much. Besides, he'll try his best to sit by the less murdery inclined members of the guild for his own sake. They'll probably be wondering why Alm brought him to their dinner and truthfully he was curious as well. Why would she invite him? That would be something to ask her later. "I'm twenty four years old. Why do you ask?" He asked while they were heading to the restaurant she was refering to.

With Jessie sprinting off through the crowd, it was only just Ferris and Drew sitting at the table. Inside, he was screaming for Jess not to leave him alone with him and sat there, trying his best to not look nervous. "Actually I'm retiring from the modelling business. Being paid for looking good was fine and all, but it was only supposed to be a temporary gig. Truthfully, I've been thinking of getting back in the game as a mage and join a guild though which one is up in the air." His view of Drew was soon blocked by a massive plate of fruits stacked up high. "Did you really need to get this much food?"

James chuckled. "You two disappeared separately hours ago and here you are together and Nolan isn't either foaming at the mouth or running scared. Coincidence? I think not." Listening to Nolan, he chuckled and grabbed a set of enchanted chainmail and tossed it to him. "Does that feel as heavy as it should?"

Harper was gonna try bombs on the half cut down three. Thor angled her head a little. Was this really the right decision to give it full measurements right of the bat? Thor decided to forget about it and stepped back as Harper's bombs went off. Her electricity slashed the twigs and stuff coming their way to protect them from getting hurt. The stump was still there.

Harper was irritated by her trick not working, definitly. So she decided to share her anger by kicking the thing. The log almost immediately flew up revealing an entrance. Thor glanced down it and looked back at the two of them. Harper 'knew' what she was doing apparently. Thor blankly stared at her knowing it was dumb luck.



She asked who wanted the honor to jump in first. Thor wanted too but Ash was before her. Thor glanced back at Harper and went out of her way to let the girl go before her. She raised out her arms like she was holding the door and she could walk ahead. Thor jumped down short after holding her skirt while dropping.



Isla slowly shoveled with the two of them as the doors opened. Her face only became whiter as the expression on her face turned full on terrified. The inside didn't look all that bad. It was better than the muddy wasteland outside. Yet it still had a spooky vibe to it. An old man was inside immediately blurting out things at the three of them. Isla became mildly irritated by that accent of his and decided to show her opinion.



Before she was finished Bytan already shut him down. He gave him a fair beating which made Isla even look away for a second. She walked over the old man and stopped for a second to poke out her tongue at the old man. She then hurriedly walked over towards Bytan with her palms clutched to her chest as they headed inside. She walked close behind Bytan in fear of getting jump scared. She cautiously looked around while they headed in deeper.

"It's ok...just glad I didn't stuff something up for a change." Cody replied with a dismissive wave at Ariel's gratitude. He was happy to see that something he had done worked for once, unlike the last couple of days....or years. He wasn't a klutz, but he did seem to have an ineptitude at succeeding.
He stiffened up nervously as he suddenly felt Nolan's hands all over his body, his face going a little red from the embarrassment of being suddenly felt up, before sighing in relief when Nolan remove his hands.
He had just began to relax before he felt the sharp backhand slap from Nolan on his stomach. It didn't hurt persay, but it did leave a stinging sensation.
"I can easily run a mile or two...." Cody grumbled in annoyance before catching the armor thrown towards him....it was lot lighter than expected.
He had expected something a lot heavier, obviously not super heavy like plate armor, but still some sort of weight. But this felt like he was simply carrying a feather pillow in his arms.
However James had mentioned some form of enchanted armor earlier hadn't he?
"Weight enchantment?" Cody asked as he turned to face James with a rather confused look. It was the only thing which made sense to him.

That made a lot of sense when James explained it. He didn't seem quite as surprised as she had expected. Then again James never struck her as someone super expressive. There were definitely people much more animated. Nolan gave a small lecture and Ariel playfully smacker him on the arm. "Leave him alone. You didn't start out like you are now either you know." She grinned and pulled him back.

James and Cody seemed like they were occupied. She didn't want to run but also didn't want to interrupt any more than she already had. Plus there was only so much time left in the day. "We should probably get going. It was good to see you again. Hope you find the right set of armor. James' has this though, he'll point you in the right direction." With no way not to exit awkwardly she just dragged Nolan on out so they could continue.

"Oh, I was just curious, it's not particularly important," Drake would wrap my arm around Levi's, walking in away from the guild hall. "You don't mind if we get a meal between the two of us first though, right? I want to make sure you won't do something utterly repulsive later," Drake would glance up at her new date to dinner. "Not that you could top Grant anyway. Two years ago, he not only came to dinner bloodstained, spent the entire time gloating about how fun killing that guy was, and made sure we all had to worry that every bite perhaps wasn't cow meat, but halfway through the meal he got in a... dispute with Solux. Gregory barely managed to break it up before they brought the building down. Dinner was smashed though. Since then Master Vale has kept a much much tighter leash on Solux, and restricts the guild dinner conversations to, what he calls, 'polite anecdotes.' No more gloating over whatever you've done last is basically what he meant, which is just fine by me."

NOLAN

"Huh, who would've thought that a prude like you would actually be able to tell. Cudos to you." Nolan gave James a mocking clap with a deadpanned expression on his face before getting slapped by Ariel. He chuckled, a sly smirk was spread along his face as he leaned into her ear. "Well aren't you lucky to have me for yourself then." He whispered into her ear and his arm went up in attempt to wrap around her waist, but before he could she was already dragging him away from Cody and James. He just accepted his fate and gave Cody and James a thumbs up as he was dragged away.

Soon Nolan and Ariel were walking in the streets with their arms hooked together and their hands intertwined. "Heh, I wonder the rest of the guild will take this? They'll probably not even be surprised and say that they expected us to get together. Oh, hey we're here." Joshua let out a silent sigh of relief as he saw the battle come to an end. He gave Amaya a few seconds to recover and get out of whatever battle mode/frenzy she might possibly be in before moving over and placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"You did good there. You aren't hurt though, are you?" He asked, concern in his voice.



Aria didn't reply immediately, watching Master Jack intently before slowly sitting up and lowering her heads from her head.
"I don't understand. Why did she crush them? They were the only things Master ever gave me. The only things that were my own. Why did she do it?" She said, her tone almost child-like.



Amelia smiled as she watched Sam examine the crystal curiously.
"Do you want to know what the lights are, Sam?" She asked her little sister before turning to her parents. "Will we have more times like this after the games? Or will we all be too busy working?"
