Etrigan (The Demon)

1513 - Physically in his late 20s

Jason stands at a tall 6 foot 1 and has a fit physique. His most notable feature is his hair, which is mostly brown par a single streak of white on the left side of his head. His hair is kept at a medium length in a brushed back style that could be considered slightly messy. His skin borders more on the pale side than the tan side, but good luck finding any of it above his waist as most of his torso and arms are tattooed. The tattoos came with the demon, and are various religious and sealing symbols from just about every culture in the world. Jason can often be seen wearing formal dress, as keeping up with styles after even one century becomes tedious.

The only staple in appearance between Jason and Etrigan are the piercing yellow eyes they share.

Etrigan stands at a huge 8 foot 1 and, of course, a rather muscular physique. Long strands of white hair extend from the sides and back of his head, leaving the top bare and horned. His skin is a pale, almost sickly yellow hidden away behind ceremonial armour. Two large swords rest on his back, far too heavy for a normal man to even lift, let alone carry.

Jason was born in 502 to a now defunct noble house in Wales. From a young age his life was laid out for him. He was to become a warrior like his father and take the mantle as head of the house when he passed away. Jason never in his life wanted to do this though, he longed for adventure, for magic, for dragons! Everyday he wished for his life to change, it was only when it did that he regretted this decision.

His father had set out a secret inquiry over a suspicion he'd had for years. As it turned out, his suspicion was confirmed when it was discovered that Jason was, in fact, a bastard born of a common archer. Jason's mother was beheaded and his father, having some sympathy for the lad, gave him a small purse of gold and a horse before setting him off into the wilderness to fend for himself.

Jason travelled far and wide, stretching his gold as far as he could. He managed to make his way into England, but ran out of coin before long. He was ambushed by bandits in a forest, and death was sure to come what with his lack of gold, but suddenly, a large blue fireball hit one of the bandits, set another alight and scared the other into sprinting off. Jason just sat on his horse, petrified in fear as a long bearded man wearing long blue robes and a pointed hat emerged from the underbrush, his hand smoldering with blue flame.

That man was, of course, Merlin.

Merlin took Jason as his scribe/apprentice. Taking him wherever he went and introducing him to some less believable celebrities of the time such as King Arthur himself. Unfortunately though, their relationship would come to a quick end when an old man, troubled with a demon came knocking on their door.

His daughter was possessed by a demon who had been sealed away under their house and the only person who could deal with it was, of course, Merlin. The two traveled to the house, dug up the body and changed Jason's life forever. The demon, Etrigan was a lot stronger and more unruly than Merlin had expected, doing battle before he made one last ditch attempt to get rid of Etrigan.

Sadly it worked.

Etrigan was sealed away inside Jason, through the most painful experience the young boy had ever been through. Jason spent the next few years learning his new powers and actually talking to Etrigan. After all, the two had to share a body, why be enemies about it?

The two traveled through the centuries, finding new planes, being involved in some events you wouldn't believe and dealing with all the ghosts and goblins that they came across while Jason painstakingly began to take control of Etrigan.

By the time the first superheroes sprouted up, Jason had full control over Etrigan when he transformed into him. Jason never really got into the whole superhero business at first, he thought spandex and leotards were only for gymnasts and circus workers. It was only when heroes like Batman and Superman began coming around that he really got into the business. He began to do good, and it felt good to do so.

He's been doing this gig for a few years now, and after the disappearance of the Justice League, he's more than eager to get to the bottom of the mystery of their disappearance.

He owes the league quite a bit. Not in money or anything, they've just saved his ass more times than he can count. Furthermore, he feels like his powers could be put to more use fighting crime on a wider scale than it could fighting skeletons in Surrey.

Knowledge of the occult and funding to a degree. He was also friends with and had fought alongside many of the members of the justice league on a few occasions, so whatever knowledge he has of them could help.
